CR_0174 — the Naga of Sri Lanka: the court that is faced, the body that is never struck

CANON SUBORDINATION — this document is PROPOSAL-TIER: it serves canon and never outranks it.
The canon: the CVD · the T1 foundation docs · the T0 registries (registries/) · the spine
(docs/spine/CH_*.md) · the region pages (_source/02_Tier_2_Region_Pages/). Authority order: docs/DOC_MAP.md § 0.
Canon served (scanned from this document's own citations — widen it by hand where it is thin):
CVD §17.1 · T0_Boss_Encounter_Registry · T0_Character_Index · T0_Creature_Roster ·
T0_Hard_Lines · T0_Quest_Seed_Registry · docs/spine/CH_06.md ·

READ THAT CANON FIRST — open it and derive from it before you build anything from this document.
If this document disagrees with canon, CANON WINS and this document is the defect — fix the
document, never the canon. Nothing here is applied until it is ratified into canon.

STATUS: PROPOSAL-TIER design sheet, written to docs/proposals/bestiary/BESTIARY_ELEVATION_DOCTRINE.md

and critic-gated against its ten refusal tests. It cites canon rows and writes none. It is the arc's

first PROTECTED row whose canon actively STAGES the being as an actor in a main boss's own beats, and

it is the body the chapter's counterfeit is a copy of.

THE FORK, RULED ON THIS SHEET'S FACE — THE ENCOUNTER SHEET IS LANDED AND IT GOVERNS

docs/proposals/bestiary/sheets/BE_0006_false_naga.md IS LANDED, and it designs the COUNTERFEIT that

wears this being's form. Its § 2 therefore had to describe THIS BODY in order to describe a copy of

it, and it does: "part one runs against the thing it is wearing — the genuine Naga's sovereign serpent

form — and every departure below is a departure from THAT" [BE_0006_false_naga.md:38-41]. **THE

RULING THIS SHEET PROPOSES: FIRST-LANDED GOVERNS**, on the DIRECTOR_RULING_L12 RULING_4 precedent

re-affirmed at DIRECTOR_RULING_L13 RULING_2 and applied at CR_0177_soorasamharam_remnant.md:76-110.

Concretely:

three phases, the win and death rewards, the five tell shapes and their single answers, the

tell-repair escalation, the four channels, the opener tree, the coat's part economy with its

silhouette fractions and the relocation rule are its. This sheet quotes them where it needs them

and changes nothing: no new tell shape, no new answer, no new phase, no re-cut of any fraction.

RE-DECIDING IT.** "the limbless serpent grammar — a long vertebral chain, the forebody raised to

meet a standing person at eye height in the audience posture, a hood carried at the raise ... the

raise a distributed lift across the forward third rather than a hinge"; "a heavy coiled base with a

light, precise forebody"; "resting silhouette: a seated sovereign. Coil as throne, forebody as

torso, hood as regalia" [:49-55]. **THE HOOD IS LANDED AND IS NOT THIS SHEET'S TO REMOVE OR TO

RE-ATTRIBUTE**, and § 3 states exactly what it is and is not a claim about.

"spine_00..spine_NN at declared few-degrees-per-vertebra ROM" [:50-52] — a statement that a ROM

exists rather than a ROM — and gives the hood "paired quadrate-analogue spreaders with their own

joint chain and a declared open/close ROM" [:143-144], likewise unnumbered. That is not a criticism

of a sheet that predates the amendment: doctrine § 2.1's inline licence EXPIRED at

DIRECTOR_RULING_L12 RULING_3, after which a covered row DERIVES from its archetype bucket and

cites the path. § 2 does that and § 5 supplies the spreader chain's own count and excursion.

the spine, the region page and the two character rows [:32-34]; CR_0174 did not yet exist to be

read. This sheet reads the row's folklore_behavior_substrate, folklore_attribution_source,

cultural_care_register and notes in full, and § 7 builds them.

occasion to author: how a PROTECTED being is FACED. § 6 is that, and it is bounded by the row's own

refusal of a trial (below).

here by file:line rather than restated as new, and every element this sheet builds is one the

landed sheet does not contain.

THE PROTECTED PRESUMPTION IS NOT REBUTTED HERE — CANON ACTIVELY STAGES THIS BEING

RULING_4 rules PROTECTED IN SCOPE as a REBUTTABLE PRESUMPTION: "PROTECTED is a STAGING rule for a

being that IS encountered — it says how the being is faced (guardian test, appeasement, non-kill

path), never that it is absent ... The presumption is rebutted ONLY where the row's own canon states

the being is never staged" [DIRECTOR_RULING_L11.json RULING_4]. The carve-out it names is CR_0187,

whose region page rules it "cited and never staged as a combat presence".

NO SUCH CANON EXISTS HERE, AND THE OPPOSITE CANON DOES. CHAR_0042 is listed among the ACTORS on

three of the chapter's eleven beats — CH06_B05 "actors: [protagonist, CHAR_0042]" [CH_06.md:138],

CH06_B09 the same [CH_06.md:158], and CH06_B10 "actors: [protagonist, CHAR_0042, CHAR_0040,

CHAR_0041]" [CH_06.md:163] — and the chapter's scene table binds SC_CH06_held_hand to CH06_B09 with

participant_refs "CHAR_0042, protagonist" and the hard-line note "read against the marks; the

genuine Naga inviolate" [CH_06.md:215]. The being is in the room. What canon forbids is not its

presence but a strike: "striking it is a designed failure state, not a win" [CH_06.md:110], "striking

what proves genuine is a designed reset, never a valid option" [CH_06.md:177], and the fork's

progression_guarantee carries the same clause on every path [CH_06.md:177; :179].

AND THE ROW ITSELF BOUNDS WHAT THAT STAGING MAY BE. The row rules collect_verb DOCUMENT rather

than EARN "because EARN encodes a performed passage and canon stages NO test at this being's

threshold — what the player does is READ the marks a true conscious Naga answers to ... which is a

documentation shape exactly (CH_06.md L157, L160); EARN is the alternative only if a later pass stages

the court itself as a trial" [@ CR_0174 :: notes]. **SO § 6 DESIGNS NO TRIAL, NO CHAIN METER AND NO

PASSAGE GATE ON THIS BEING.** It designs the guardian-test REGISTER inside the encounter canon already

carries — the audience at the shrine, where the player's own perceive verb is the test and this being's

side of it is that IT ANSWERS CORRECTLY, every time, to every read. That is the doctrine's

harder-not-passive clause honoured without inventing a passage the row explicitly declines.

2. base_species

excluded.PROVISIONAL_folklore alongside CR_0127, CR_0156, CR_0157, CR_0161, CR_0172 and

CR_0184, and both anatomy tables scope those rows OUT: "The 42 NEEDS_CANON_BODY_PLAN rows and the

7 PROVISIONAL folklore rows are OUT OF SCOPE — their body plan is a canon decision that is

already boarded, and a reference table that guessed one would be inventing creature canon"

[LIMBLESS.json § scope]. The row's own mesh_tags.morphology reads "folklore", which is a

provenance word and not a body plan.

The landed encounter sheet rules the form "the limbless serpent grammar — a long vertebral chain,

the forebody raised ... a hood carried at the raise" [BE_0006_false_naga.md:49-52], and under

first-landed-governs that IS the archetype. So this sheet derives from LIMBLESS.json by

ARCHETYPE COVERAGE — the test doctrine § 2.1 actually states, "or whose archetype a bucket

covers" — and § 9 boards the census assignment as the registry-side decision it is.

build/3d/schema/anatomy_reference/LIMBLESS.json § sub_plans.serpentine, whose one-line is the

reason this block matters — "One chain, no limbs, and a segment count that is not a stylistic

choice: it is set by how far a real vertebral joint can bend" [§ one_line]. Posture grade axial

posture_grade].

ONE RIB PAIR PER PRECLOACAL VERTEBRA, ALL FREE, WITH NO STERNUM — which is the fact § 5's spreader

chain is built out of; zero limbs [§ segments].

ELASTIC LIGAMENT rather than a bony symphysis, "four extra bones a swallow animation cannot fake"

skeleton].

precloacal lateral -25 to +25 degrees, dorsoventral -20 to +20, axial rotation -10 to +10

[GASC1974, MOON1999, HOFFSTETTER1969]. THE ZYGOSPHENE-ZYGANTRUM IS A WEDGE-IN-SOCKET THAT PERMITS

LATERAL FLEXION AND BLOCKS AXIAL ROTATION, so the body flows sideways freely, resists twisting, and

CANNOT CORKSCREW; and the lateral limits are REGIONAL rather than uniform, highest at mid-body and

lower in the neck and near the vent [§ joints]. Quadrate-mandibular gape 0 to 130 degrees with a

quadrate swing of 0 to 60, and the mandibles SEPARATE at the front, which is a translation and not

an angle.

sheet asserts the pose and does not mechanise it.** The landed rule is a raise "distributed across

the forward third rather than a hinge" that brings the forebody to a standing person's eye height

[BE_0006_false_naga.md:50-52]. Standing a forebody from a seated coil to vertical is on the order

of 90 degrees of cumulative dorsoventral bend; at the bucket's 20-degree per-joint dorsoventral

ceiling the floor is 5 joints, and the arithmetic is stated at both ends of the bucket's range

rather than gestured at. The forward third of a body carrying the bucket's 160-vertebra LOW END is

about 53 joints, which is roughly TEN TIMES the floor; at the bucket's 400-plus ceiling the forward

third is about 133, which is near THIRTY times it [§ segments]. **THE COUNT DOES NOT BUY THE

HEIGHT — IT BUYS THE SMOOTHNESS**,

and that is the whole visual difference between a sovereign rising and a folding rule opening. NO

RANGE IS EXCEEDED AND NO JOINT IS INVENTED.

dimensionless, so a larger body's joints keep the same degrees and spend more TIME traversing them,

because rotational inertia grows far faster than the cross-section that carries force

[CR_0177_soorasamharam_remnant.md:173-184]. On this body the consequence is not a telegraph but a

BEARING: a sovereign's motion is slow because the body is heavy, not because it is being stately,

and the animation lane should read the unhurriedness as arithmetic rather than as characterisation.

and NO hindlimb chain, ROM caps 25 / 20 / 10, bilateral symmetry not required, and the CENTRELINE

RULE — the chain must span at least half the body's horizontal axis, "because a chain spanning 16

pct of the body's second horizontal axis is a rod driven through a coil, not a centreline"

rig_conformance]. The bucket records the measured failure it was written from: the pre-fix

CR_0002 rig spanned 24.3 cm on an axis the body spanned 147.9 cm and shipped with 11 segments where

the derivation floor is 22, and its rest and posed previews were identical

segment_minimum_derivation]. THAT FLOOR IS A FLOOR AND NOT A TARGET ON THIS ROW: the

seated-sovereign bind pose in § 5 is a THREE-TURN stack, which is 1,080 degrees of cumulative

lateral curvature, and the bucket's own derivation rule — required segments ≥ total bind-pose

curvature ÷ max lateral per joint — puts that at 43.2 joints. **THE FLOOR FOR THIS BODY IS

THEREFORE 44 DEFORM SEGMENTS AND THE FIRST COMFORTABLE VALUE IS 48**, inside the bucket's 64

ceiling, and a lane that builds this being on the 22-bone minimum cannot form its resting pose.

That number is the single most useful thing this sheet hands the rig lane.

precise forebody. It does not travel during audience. The gait exists and is deliberately almost

never shown, which is itself a tell" [BE_0006_false_naga.md:53-54]. The bucket's gait modes are

available and the one this body uses when it does move is LATERAL UNDULATION in water, which is

also the mode that makes § 4's primary axis read.

forebody as torso, hood as regalia" [:55]. § 5 adds one thing to it and only one: the stack's

terrace count.

3. lore_source

rather than paraphrased: the naga are documented in the Mahavamsa as "a CONSCIOUS POLITICALLY REAL

SACRED PEOPLE with a sovereign court and full agency"; the named sovereign of that court is Naga

King Maniakkhika (CHAR_0042); and they are "NOT a western construct NOT a generic fantasy dragon

NOT a slain boss and NOT a mere folk superstition"

[@ CR_0174 :: folklore_attribution_source, normalising the cell's underscore encoding — this text

lives in that cell, and folklore_behavior_substrate is empty on this row as § 1 records].

"the messenger goes to the palace of the nagas, the naga-king rises, greets him, invites him to a

throne, pays him the honours due to a guest, and asks what country he has come from — and then,

hearing the request, is troubled and moves the relics rather than surrendering them, sending a hint

to his nephew who swallows the urn and departs" [sri_lanka.md:540-544, SRC_00261 p. 282].

worship it for a week by bestowing on it the kingship of the nagas and by manifold offerings, and

then bring it back and set it on the ship" [sri_lanka.md:545-548, SRC_00261 p. 197].

hospitality, self-interest, kin loyalty and its own devotion. That is what the counterfeit steals

the shape of, and it is why a careless blade at the shrine cuts the wrong way"

[sri_lanka.md:548-549].

category-word yaksa may once have been extended to a pre-Buddhist human population of the island is

held AS a conjecture in its own frame and is never used to assert that the island's folkloric beings

"were really" an ancestral people; "the genuine Naga are held on the other side of the same line:

they are, in the chapter's cosmology and in the chronicle, conscious beings and not a euphemism for

anyone" [sri_lanka.md:529-538, SRC_00263 p. 85]. This sheet inherits that line intact and stages

nothing against it.

behaviour native rather than imported and therefore what makes this being's theft-victim status

legible: the founder-king settles the yakkhas Kalavela and Cittaraja and a yakkhini in the city and

provides for them, and builds a house for the yaksa Maheja whose shrine persisted into the next

reign [sri_lanka.md:519-527, SRC_00263 pp. 86, 89].

corpus attests about this being is a COURT AND ITS PROTOCOL: a palace, a throne, a rising, a

greeting, honours paid to a guest, a question asked, self-interest, action through kin, physical

movement of relics and of a tree, and the bestowing of a kingship. **WHAT THE CORPUS ATTESTS ABOUT

THIS BEING'S BODY IS NOTHING AT ALL** — no head count, no crown, no iconographic programme, no

ornament, no scale, no colour. So:

THAN A TIMIDITY.** The landed routing rule is the arc's and is quoted: attested iconography

"builds on the row whose tradition attests it, and never travels to a neighbouring people's

cognate" [CR_0002_naga_tana_water_aspect.md:294-298; the same refusal at :83-90]. The

seven-headed balustrade water-lord is the Khmer tradition's and is CR_0161's; the crowned,

armed, candi-bentar balustrade form is the Balinese tradition's and is built at

BE_0004_S1_gate_naga_guardian.md:59-64 precisely because "a candi bentar's flanking balustrade

naga, the raised and crowned head at the threshold, is Balinese temple sculpture's own

vocabulary". Importing either onto a Sinhalese chronicle court would merge two peoples' records

into one island-wide dragon, which is the naming discipline the region page enforces in its own

Section 4 [sri_lanka.md:324-333].

A CLAIM ABOUT THE CHRONICLE.** It is landed at [BE_0006_false_naga.md:50-52, :143-144, :206-211]

and under first-landed-governs it stays; what this sheet adds is its structure (§ 5) and the

explicit statement that no source on this shelf says a Sri Lankan naga has one.

produce an empty sheet.** HL_0002: "Claims about a LIVING culture's tradition, ritual, language,

or sacred practice trace to primary-source record (floors 1-3). Mythic monsters, boss encounters,

dungeon/site design, and adventure content carry fantasy license — grounded in the tradition's

own material but free to extrapolate for playable spectacle." The tradition's own material here

is the court, the protocol, the palace and the agency, all cited above. The body that carries them

is ours, and § 7 names every part of it as ours.

region page's own Section-16 source list — "the chronicle itself; the Naga episodes, the war

narrative, the relic and Bodhi-tree accounts" [sri_lanka.md:1281-1282] — and both passages quoted

above are drawn through it, so the SRC_ machinery matches on this region and on this subject.

NEGATIVE, and it is an absence rather than a failed query: the region page's own

positive-controlled scan block records ZERO occurrences of kattadiya and no true hit for tovil,

and records that the whole specialist demonology is absent from the processed corpus

[sri_lanka.md:1340-1355]. That gap belongs to this being's IMPERSONATOR rather than to it — but

it is stated here because the two rows are read together, and because it is the reason § 4's marks

table is built from the chronicle rather than from the demonology.

from the roused Flores naga tana (CR_0002), the Balinese candi-bentar gate-naga (CR_0156), the bound

Batak Naga Padoha (CR_0157) and the Khmer seven-headed water-lord (CR_0161) — "four serpent poles,

four traditions, never collapsed into one dragon" [@ CR_0174 :: notes], and this row is the fifth

and the only one of the five that is a sovereign conscious PEOPLE.

4. elevation

chronicle, mesh_tags.style mythologically-stylized, and it routes to attended design by

construction. § 3D's REAL_FAUNA register is not available to it and is not claimed.

landed axis set is its exact photographic negative. BE_0006's identity is A10 NEGATIVE SPACE — "a

set of things that are missing behind a surface that has them" [BE_0006_false_naga.md:97-99]. THE

GENUINE'S IDENTITY MUST THEREFORE BE THE PRESENCE OF EXACTLY THOSE THINGS, or the chapter's read has

nothing to be a read of.

THE SERPENT LEGIBILITY CONTRACT — CH_06's THREE-POINT SERPENT DISCRIMINATION

AUTHORED ONCE AND CARRIED BYTE-IDENTICAL ON ALL THREE SHEETS OF THE SET —

docs/proposals/bestiary/sheets/CR_0030_indian_cobra.md § 4,

docs/proposals/bestiary/sheets/CR_0174_naga_of_sri_lanka.md § 4 and

docs/proposals/bestiary/sheets/CR_0172_false_naga.md § 4. It is SELF-CONTAINED: every claim in it

carries its own citation, nothing in it depends on which of the three sheets it is sitting on, and it

runs from this heading to its own terminator line, so the three copies are byte-equal by construction

and an md5 over the section is the same on all three.

THE SET. Three serpent-form bodies are rowed at CH_06 and the chapter's entire main-boss mechanic is

telling them apart. CR_0030 the Indian cobra (*Naja naja*, ontology_class ORDINARY_FAUNA,

trade_8_tameable TAME, mesh_tags.style realistic-ethnographic) is the real animal of the island's

tank country. CR_0174 the Naga of Sri Lanka (ontology_class SACRED, combat_permission PROTECTED,

cultural_depiction_required TRUE) is the Mahavamsa-documented conscious sovereign court, INVIOLATE —

"striking it is a designed failure state, not a win" [CH_06.md:110], "striking what proves genuine is

a designed reset, never a valid option" [CH_06.md:177]. CR_0172 the False Naga (ontology_class

CONDEMNED, combat_permission FOLKLORE_FACED, cultural_depiction_required TRUE) is the

deceiver-yaka wearing the third's form, the chapter's main boss at BE_0006, and the reason the

discrimination is dangerous rather than academic: "to strike the counterfeit without certainty is to

wound the real" [CH_06.md:29; :137].

THE GOVERNING LAW OF THIS CONTRACT: THE FINDER IS SCALE-FREE AND THE CONFIRM IS NOT. A player

cannot judge a body's size without judging its distance first, and at a shrine pool at dusk the

distance read fails before the size read does. Every finder below is therefore a RATIO measured

against the animal's own body or a COUNT of its own parts, and every colour, texture or ornament read

is a CONFIRM that arrives second. The stockings rule is carried in principle from the landed sets: a

confirming mark confirms, it never finds [CR_0038_indian_leopard.md:294-299].

FINDER 1 — THE RAISE RATIO: HOW MUCH OF ITS OWN LENGTH THE BODY STANDS UP. This is the only read

in the set that survives black fill, night, rain and water. THE COBRA STANDS ITS FORWARD FIFTH TO

QUARTER and no more; the raise is a cantilever paid for out of a gathered base, it reaches roughly a

standing adult's knee on a large animal, and the remaining four-fifths of the body stay flat on the

ground behind it. THE COURT AND ITS COUNTERFEIT STAND THE FORWARD THIRD, and they stand it to a

standing person's EYE — the landed rule is "the forebody raised to meet a standing person at eye

height in the audience posture ... the raise a distributed lift across the forward third rather than

a hinge" [BE_0006_false_naga.md:49-52]. IN BLACK FILL: the cobra is a SHORT vertical over a LONG

horizontal, and the other two are a TORSO-LENGTH vertical over a mass that reads as a seat. The read

is the fraction of the body that has left the ground, and it needs no distance estimate to take.

FINDER 2 — WHAT THE BASE UNDER THE RAISE IS DOING: A GATHER, OR A SEAT. THE COBRA'S BASE IS A

LOOSE, FLAT, SINGLE-LAYER GATHER — an S or an open coil pressed to the ground, unstacked, holding no

shape it did not need this second, and ready to be abandoned the moment the animal leaves. THE COURT

AND ITS COUNTERFEIT SIT ON A STACK: three turns of body laid one ABOVE another, which the landed

resting silhouette names "a seated sovereign. Coil as throne, forebody as torso, hood as regalia"

[BE_0006_false_naga.md:55]. IN BLACK FILL a stack has TERRACES and a gather does not, so the second

finder is a step count in the outline's lower half and it is available at any distance the first

finder is.

CONFIRM — **THE HOOD IS THE CONFUSABLE, NOT THE DISCRIMINATOR, AND THIS CONTRACT SAYS SO RATHER THAN

PRETENDING OTHERWISE.** All three bodies carry a hood: the cobra's is real elapid anatomy, and the

court's and the coat's are landed on the encounter sheet [BE_0006_false_naga.md:50-52, :143-144,

:206-211]. A spread hood therefore finds NOTHING in this chapter. What it does confirm, once one of

the two finders has already answered, is width against the body carrying it and edge character at

contact distance. Any design, plate or prompt that leans on "the one with the hood" has produced a

read that fires on all three subjects.

CONFIRM — **THE STYLE REGISTER, WHICH IS CANON RATHER THAN DESIGN AND WHICH SEPARATES ONE BODY FROM

TWO.** CH_06 reserves stylization by name: "realistic-ethnographic for the Sinhalese, Vedda, and

Tamil communities, monuments, and tank-country; mythologically-stylized only for the deceiver-yaka

and the Tovil demons and their masks" [CH_06.md:240]. CR_0030's own mesh_tags.style cell reads

realistic-ethnographic; CR_0172's and CR_0174's both read mythologically-stylized. THE RULE: **IF THE

THING IN THE WATER READS STYLIZED, IT IS NOT THE ANIMAL — AND IT IS STILL NOT ANSWERED WHICH OF THE

OTHER TWO IT IS.** (The spine line names two items where the roster carries three, and the

under-enumeration is boarded as a finding on CR_0174_naga_of_sri_lanka.md § 9 for the spine owner;

no lane edits canon and none did.)

**THE THIRD POINT OF THE DISCRIMINATION IS NOT A SILHOUETTE READ, AND SAYING SO IS THE MOST IMPORTANT

LINE IN THIS CONTRACT.** Between CR_0174 and CR_0172 the silhouette read is DELIBERATELY NULL. The

counterfeit is a copy of the court's form — "its whole body is a BORROWED ONE"

[BE_0006_false_naga.md:38-41] — so raise ratio, terrace count, hood, outline, scale and pose all

answer the same on both, BY CONSTRUCTION AND ON PURPOSE. A design that let an outline separate them

would delete the chapter: the danger canon states is precisely that a player CAN read the shape and

still be wrong [CH_06.md:29; :157], and the failure state exists because the eye's fastest instrument

is the one that cannot help here. **THE THIRD READ IS BEHAVIOUR, WORLD-RESPONSE AND PROTOCOL, TAKEN

OVER TIME**, and it is the four marks below.

THE MARKS A COAT CANNOT FAKE. These four ARE the BE_0006 perceive-phase content, carried from the

landed encounter sheet under first-landed-governs and given their chronicle grounding here. **NO

FIFTH MARK IS ADDED BY THIS CONTRACT**; where a further read of the chronicle suggests one, it is

boarded on CR_0174_naga_of_sri_lanka.md § 9 as an observation for BE_0006's own next touch and is

not in play.

THE ADJACENT-CHAPTER SERPENT POLES, HELD DISTINCT AND NEVER POOLED WITH THIS SET. The arc runs

five serpent poles across five traditions and the roster rules they are "never collapsed into one

dragon" [@ CR_0174 :: notes]: the Manggarai naga tana of the soil, roused and appeased and never

slain, mythologically-stylized when roused (CR_0002); the Balinese candi-bentar balustrade guardian

with its crowned torso and carved arms, whose humanoid form is built because THAT tradition's

sculpture attests it (CR_0156, BE_0004_S1_gate_naga_guardian.md:59-64); the Batak world-bearing

Naga Padoha, endured and re-seated at the LANDMARK band and never seen whole (CR_0157,

BE_0005_S3_naga_padoha.md:64-82); the Khmer seven-headed balustrade water-lord, protective and

creative and deliberately LEFT (CR_0161); and here a sovereign conscious PEOPLE. THE ROUTING RULE

THAT KEEPS THEM APART IS THE ARC'S OWN AND IS A CITATION RULE RATHER THAN A TASTE: attested

iconography "builds on the row whose tradition attests it, and never travels to a neighbouring

people's cognate" [CR_0002_naga_tana_water_aspect.md:294-298]. **SO NO MANY-HEADED CREST, NO CROWN

AND NO RAISED HUMANOID TORSO APPEARS ON ANY BODY IN THIS CH_06 SET**, in either the sacred or the

condemned register, because no source on this island's shelf attests one. And one further separation

inside the chapter itself: the malevolent Tovil yakku (CR_0173) are a HUMANOID-COMPOSITE register —

"all deformed but something resembling the shape of a man", man-shaped base with animal hardware

[SRC_00237 p. 62; BE_0006_S1_tovil_yaka.md:36-41] — and share no body plan, no silhouette and no

asset with anything in this set; and the revered Vedda Nae Yaku (CR_0175) and Kande Yaka and Bilindi

Yaka (CR_0176) are venerated ancestral spirits of a living community, are not villain material, and

are never staged in the same category as any of it [sri_lanka.md:651-655].

THE ONE POSE THAT COLLAPSES THE SET, NAMED SO THE ANIMATION AND PLATE LANES CAN PROTECT IT. All

three bodies lying flat and still — the cobra at rest in shade, the court unstacked and submerged to

the flank, the coat arranged low before an audience begins — present a long horizontal with no raise,

no terraces and no motion, and NO FINDER IN THIS CONTRACT IS IN FRAME. THE DESIGN RULE, carried in

principle from the landed tail-tip rule [CR_0056_african_lion.md:241-244] and turned onto this set:

THE WATER IS ALWAYS THE LAST THING TO GO STILL. On the court the pool is answering a mass even at

rest, and on the coat it is not, so the widest mark in the marks table stays alive in every idle the

set has — and on the cobra there is no pool at all, because its ground is bund crest, threshing floor

and dry stone rather than a shrine pool, which is a PLACEMENT read and is free.

THE SERPENT LEGIBILITY CONTRACT ENDS HERE.

ONE-LINE READ: a serpent seated on three turns of its own body that rises to meet you, and whose

rising takes the whole pool with it.

PRIMARY — A6 VRIL MANIFESTATION, READ AS WORLD RESPONSE, INSIDE THE LIGHT LAW. The axis's own

definition names four registers and this being spends the third: "the WORLD's response in a radius

around it (the ground it stands on, the litter it displaces, the air it moves, the water it pulls)"

[doctrine § 2.3, Axis A6]. Concrete and paintable:

meniscus climbs the scale where the body sits and releases with a visible line when it lifts. Water

runs OFF the coils as they clear the surface and keeps running for a second after the motion stops.

The pool takes time to settle and the settling is visible — the lamps' reflections along the shrine

rim break into moving fragments and re-form.

into a crescent ahead of the raise and drawn into the wake behind it; the wet stone of the terrace

carries a fresh dark band where the coil has just been and it dries at the rate wet stone dries.

real mass in real water, and vril alters real physics rather than exempting a body from it. The

being is HEAVY, and the world says so continuously and without being asked. That is the entire axis

and it costs the art budget nothing but simulation discipline.

counterfeit's "form does not displace ... A 4-metre body's worth of surface with none of a 4-metre

body's worth of world response — which is Axis A6 read in reverse, and it is legible at combat

distance because the player has spent five chapters watching water behave"

[BE_0006_false_naga.md:101-105]. A6 read in reverse only works if A6 is read FORWARD first, on

this body, at full strength. **THE COUNTERFEIT'S PRIMARY AXIS IS A SUBTRACTION FROM THIS ONE, AND

THE SUBTRACTION IS ONLY LEGIBLE IF THIS ONE IS BUILT.**

SUPPORTING — A4 HYPERTROPHY, SPENT ONCE AND SPENT NARROWLY, ON THE HOOD. The axis is labelled off

the doctrine's own definitions rather than by habit: A4 is "one anatomical system taken far past its

species baseline", and A2 is multiplication — "additional articulated segments, added limb pairs,

additional heads or jaws, a doubled spine chain" [doctrine § 2.3, Axes A2 and A4]. **NO RIB IS ADDED

HERE.** The bucket already rules one rib pair per precloacal vertebra, all free, with no sternum

[LIMBLESS.json § sub_plans.serpentine.segments], and free ribs that carry no sternum are ribs that

can be given a job. THE SPEND: about forty anterior rib pairs already on the body are ELONGATED far

past baseline and given their own articulated chain, rotating laterally to spread the loose neck skin

into a broad plate that stands behind and above the head. **A2 IS THE ADJACENT READING AND IS NAMED

RATHER THAN LEFT TO COLLIDE**, because the chain those ribs are driven as is a new articulated chain

with its own ROM; the count of ribs, however, is the species' own, so the spend is hypertrophy of an

existing system and not multiplication of one. THE HALF OF A4 THIS SHEET DOES NOT SPEND, DECLARED: no

system is let go in exchange, because the body has no baseline capability it can afford to lose.

MECHANISM: it is a real vertebrate mechanism scaled up — costovertebral rotation, which is the same

mechanism the chapter's ordinary cobra's hood runs on, there declared at about twenty-eight pairs and

labelled AUTHORIAL_ANATOMY on that sheet's own face rather than taken from the bucket

[CR_0030_indian_cobra.md:446-455, § 5's hood bullet — "the bucket publishes the rib count and their

freedom and publishes no rib range, so the excursion is declared here and labelled AUTHORIAL_ANATOMY";

the label named again in that sheet's declaration block at :645] — here run on forty longer pairs on

a far larger body, which is why the plate reads as REGALIA rather than as a threat display. **THE

AXIS'S OWN LAW IS OBEYED: THE SPEND CARRIES ITS OWN TELL** — the hood's opening

rate and the moment in the courtesy at which it opens are part of the protocol the player is reading

(§ 6). AND THE AXIS IS EXPLICITLY NOT SPENT ON HEADS: no second head, no seven-headed crest, no

multiplied jaw, for the citation reason in § 3 and not for a squeamish one.

SUPPORTING — A5 AGE AND STATE, SPENT AS THE COURT'S OWN ACCUMULATED TIME. This is a lineage the

chronicle records holding relics and escorting a tree, so the body should read as older than the

shrine it is standing in. Concrete: a POLISHED CONTACT BAND on the ventral scutes and the lower

flank where generations of coil have rested on the same wet stone — mineral laid down and then burnished

by contact until it is smooth rather than crusted; a scale grain in the forward third that carries the

water's own mineral IN it rather than on it, so the surface darkens and lightens with wetting instead

of flaking; and one healed mark carried as a REMEMBERED EVENT rather than as damage, its scale rows

stepping out of register by half a row across a band, which identifies the individual from any angle.

MECHANISM: contact wear and mineral deposition over a documented span — the same physics the arc has

already landed once on a serpent at a potent water source [CR_0002_naga_tana_water_aspect.md:113-118],

named here as the cross-creature lesson rather than re-invented. **THE DISCRIMINATION THIS AXIS OWES

ITS NEIGHBOUR AND STATES EXPLICITLY**: the counterfeit's material is ACCRETED OFFERING-MATTER SITTING

ON A SURFACE, laid in courses and liftable at its seams [BE_0006_false_naga.md:114-121, :145-151];

this being's material is MINERAL POLISHED INTO A SURFACE BY CONTACT, and it cannot be lifted because

it is not a layer. One is a coat. The other is a callus. That is the same distinction the chapter is

about, expressed in a material.

EMISSION: NONE, and the row is checked rather than assumed. No defender_element exists for this

being because it holds no boss row, no emitting family is claimed, and the light law's three emitters

are not in play. The form reads bright because the shrine is full of oil lamps burning along the pool's

stone rim [BE_0006_false_naga.md:264-267] and it is LIT by them; the wet scale reads by

wetting-darkening, by specular reflection of those lamps, and by refraction through the water it is

sitting in. The glow test passes by construction.

5. articulation_delta

chain, no limb girdles, the four-bone kinetic jaw, per-joint lateral ±25 / dorsoventral ±20 / axial

±10 with regional taper, no corkscrew — carried at a scale whose clock is scaled and whose angles

are not.

landed resting silhouette is "coil as throne" [BE_0006_false_naga.md:55]. THIS SHEET SUPPLIES THE

STACK: THREE TURNS, laid one above another rather than side by side, each turn a full body

revolution, with the uppermost turn bearing the raise's root. That is 1,080 degrees of cumulative

lateral curvature and it is what drives § 2's 44-segment floor. WEIGHT: the raise's load runs down

the stack turn by turn and out through the lowest turn's contact patch into the pool floor, so

nothing cantilevers off nothing and the pose is statically honest. THE READ IT BUYS: a stack has

TERRACES and a defensive coil does not, so the seat is legible in black fill as a stepped mass

rather than as a disc — which is the second finder in § 4's contract and the reason it is a finder

at all.

DECLARATION.** The landed text is "paired quadrate-analogue spreaders with their own joint chain and

a declared open/close ROM" [:143-144]. THE STRUCTURE: about 40 elongated anterior rib pairs, each a

single-axis rotation at its own costovertebral joint, running 0 degrees (folded back along the neck)

to about 80 degrees (full lateral spread), driven as one chain with an amplitude taper so the plate's

outline is a broad ellipse rather than a rectangle. WEIGHT: NONE passes through them — they carry

skin and nothing else, they bear no part of the raise's cantilever, and that is precisely why the

hood's edge can be damaged or fouled without the form losing its posture, which is the structural

reason the counterfeit's landed hood-edge part can break first without collapsing it

[:206-211]. THE NAMING RECONCILIATION, STATED RATHER THAN SILENTLY DIVERGED FROM: the quadrate

is a JAW bone in this bucket's own skeleton block, so "quadrate-analogue" reads as a naming

approximation for a structure that is anatomically COSTAL; this sheet supplies the costal structure

and boards the naming observation in § 9 for the landed sheet's own next touch, and changes nothing

on it.

cumulative dorsoventral bend spread across the forward third at a few degrees a joint, well inside

the bucket's 20-degree cap, so the standing curve is a smooth S with no readable corner anywhere

along it. THAT SMOOTHNESS IS A LOAD-BEARING DISCRIMINATOR AND NOT AN AESTHETIC, because the

counterfeit's coat plates bridge joints and force its own bend into facets — a contact-distance read

that belongs to CR_0172 and is named there.

declared boundaries: the band runs the ventral midline and the lower flank across the three turns

that touch stone and stops where the body clears the water; the mineral grain occupies the forward

third and fades rather than ending at a seam. No new geometry, no separate mesh piece.

joints keep their declared ROM — it is a scar, not a joint, and weight passes through the band

unchanged. Carried in principle from the landed serpent precedent

[CR_0147_reticulated_python.md:188-191] rather than re-invented.

no mark beyond the healed band. Three axes, one new articulated structure, and the structure is a

rib chain.

6. fight_grammar

THIS BEING HAS NO BOSS ROW AND NO ENCOUNTER OF ITS OWN, AND THAT IS AN AFFIRMATIVE STATEMENT. No

BE_ id names it, combat_permission is PROTECTED, collect_verb is DOCUMENT, and canon rules a

strike on it a designed failure state on every path [CH_06.md:110; :177]. What RULING_4 orders is not

a fight but a DESIGN — how a PROTECTED being is faced — and this block is that, bounded by the row's

own refusal of a staged trial (§ 1).

PART ECONOMY HOME: NONE, declared by name per doctrine § 2.4's NONE case, and the reason is

structural rather than a gap: there is nothing on this body a player may break, no break event

exists, no material the economy wants comes off it, and rng_drop_anchor is deliberately blank on the

row because "a drop sourced FROM this being would be the exact instrumentation the register forbids"

[@ CR_0174 :: notes].

**THE ENCOUNTER THE PLAYER IS ACTUALLY IN IS BE_0006'S, AND THIS BEING'S SIDE OF IT IS THAT IT PASSES

EVERY TEST.** The chapter's perceive verb is the player's [CH_06.md:110], the marks are what it reads

against [CH_06.md:157], and the landed tell table is the counterfeit's [BE_0006_false_naga.md:163-170].

What this sheet supplies is the OTHER HALF of every one of those reads — what a body that is not

forging anything does when the same read is taken of it. Nothing below adds, removes or re-aims a

landed shape.

the landed read, taken on the counterfeitthe body origin on THIS being, derived from § 2 and § 5what the player sees when the read comes back genuine

the seam, once three marks are held [:169]a surface with no courses in it — mineral polished INTO the grain rather than laid on itnothing lifts, nothing stands proud, and there is no seam to find

**THE GUARDIAN-TEST REGISTER, WHICH IS WHAT PROTECTED MEANS AND IS THE HARDER THING RATHER THAN THE

SOFTER ONE.** Doctrine part five: "A SACRED being is honored, and where it is faced at all it is faced

as a guardian test rather than as prey", and the defang tell is stated in the same breath — "a guardian

test is not a passive encounter — it is a HARDER encounter". THE TEST HERE IS NOT SET BY THIS BEING

AND THAT IS THE DESIGN: this being holds an audience by the chronicle's own protocol, and the test is

whether the player can hold their hand while they read it. THE PROTOCOL, in the chronicle's order and

carried as the design's own sequence: **the rise, the greeting, the throne offered, the honours paid,

and the question — what country have you come from** [sri_lanka.md:540-544, SRC_00261 p. 282]. Five

beats, in that order, every time, unhurried, on a body whose clock is scaled. The player who has

learned that order at this being's audience is the player who can catch a counterfeit performing it

out of sequence, which is exactly the landed P2 read [BE_0006_false_naga.md:184-188].

THE REVERENCE-RESPONSE, AND ITS TIER IS CANON RATHER THAN THIS LANE'S CHOICE. CH06_B09's own

objective is to read "against the reverence-response and the Mahavamsa-documented marks a true

conscious Naga answers to and a coat cannot fake" [CH_06.md:157], and the chapter's reveal binding

fixes the register: reverence-response, inscription, lore and behavioural tells, and NEVER a tier-6

vril-signature read, with the substrate-perception onset held nine chapters ahead at the Ch-15

Adeptus-Minor crossing [CH_06.md:17; :160; HL_0028/HL_0017]. So the reverence-response the player

reads is BEHAVIOURAL AND MATERIAL — how the water answers, whether the mass arrives, whether the

courtesy runs in order — and not a perception of substrate. **THE PLAYER'S OWN BEARING IS READ IN

RETURN**, which is the landed shape from the arc's other threshold guardian, adopted rather than

re-invented: "what the gate refuses is a CONDITION of the player rather than a key item"

[BE_0004_S1_gate_naga_guardian.md:117-119]. Here the condition is not depletion but CONDUCT — a

player who arrives with a blade already drawn gets the protocol and nothing else, and the deeper

reads of the audience open to the player who does not.

**THE FOUR ESCALATION CHANNELS, GIVEN HONEST HOMES ON A BODY THAT DOES NOT ESCALATE — and the honesty

is the point, because the escalation in this chapter belongs to the counterfeit.**

person's eye and stops there, and it comes to a child's eye when the guest is a child. A sovereign

meets a visitor at the visitor's level, and that single behaviour is the most sovereign thing on

the sheet.

as one mass. THE DISCRIMINATION IT CARRIES is the landed one from the other side: the counterfeit's

P2 breath "is timed to the hood rather than to the body, one joint out"

[BE_0006_false_naga.md:194-195]. Two breaths, one body plan, one joint apart.

design instruction is that it is never a taunt, never a riddle, and never a piece of exposition:

it is a host talking to a guest.

audience: "asks what country he has come from" [SRC_00261 p. 282]. It is asked of a child who is

hiding what they are, in a chapter whose identity_hiding_pressure is MED because "an island that

teaches seeing-true holds a poignant mirror to a child who hides" [CH_06.md:14]. THE DESIGN RULE:

the being asks it in courtesy and not in suspicion, it does not press, and it accepts whatever

answer it is given. That restraint is what makes it land.

WHAT THE BODY DOES WHEN IT IS STRUCK, WHICH IS THIS SHEET'S HARDEST DESIGN DECISION. BE_0006 owns

the mechanic — a wrong strike "desecrates the real, the encounter resets with the true-from-false tell

now marked, and a discernment lore fragment still drops" [BE_0006_false_naga.md:171-174] — and this

sheet changes none of it. What it supplies is what the BODY does in that moment: **IT DOES NOT FIGHT

BACK AND IT DOES NOT ENDURE. IT WITHDRAWS, IN PROTOCOL.** The audience is ended without a word, the

raise comes down, the stack unwinds turn by turn in the reverse of the order it was laid in, the body

goes under, the water closes over it and then settles, and the shrine is empty. The player is left

standing in a pool where a sovereign was, holding a blade. **THE ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE ARE DERIVED

FROM THE CHRONICLE RATHER THAN INVENTED**: the naga hold a palace and a realm of the serpents and they

MOVE — they escort a tree to that realm and bring it back and set it on the ship, and the king sends

relics away rather than surrendering them [SRC_00261 pp. 197, 282]. A being with its own realm arrives

and leaves; it is not resident at a shrine a counterfeit was able to take.

RELOCATION AND TURF: it owns nothing at this site and that is why the site could be usurped. It

comes to the water-shrine and it goes, which is also the design's answer to why the shrine was

available to a coat in the first place. The naga_water_shrine zone is "the environmental

water-shrine the counterfeit has usurped ... deliberately distinct from the protected living sacred

city so combat is never routed at Anuradhapura" [CH_06.md:96-97], and nothing in this block puts this

being inside Anuradhapura or the Vedda forest, both of which are protected true and combat-walled

[CH_06.md:88; :90; :94].

TIER DISCIPLINE, per the row: every read on this being is a Neophyte-register read of

reverence-response, inscription, documented protocol and behavioural tells, never a tier-6

vril-signature read [@ CR_0174 :: notes; CH_06.md:17; :160; HL_0028/HL_0017].

7. care_read

the Vedda (Wanniyalaeto), the Tamil community, the Buddhist sangha, the edura healers, the

physicians, the villagers and the two UNAWARE monks are honoured allies and protected non-targets

on every path [CH_06.md:221; HL_0003; HL_0123]. Combat is walled off the sacred city and the Vedda

forest and routed only at the usurped water-shrine and the village ward [CH_06.md:88].

EVERY ALTITUDE.** "inviolate and never a target" [CH_06.md:201]; "striking it is a designed failure

state, not a win" [CH_06.md:110]; "striking what proves genuine is a designed reset, never a valid

option" [CH_06.md:177]; "The genuine Naga is a conscious sacred being and inviolate — striking it is

a designed failure state, never a victory" [CH_06.md:221]; and the region page's own key-enemy line

says the same [sri_lanka.md:35]. THAT IS CANON AND NOT TIMIDITY, and the row's own

adjudication says so in its own words: blank-where-canon-is-silent does not apply, because canon is

not silent [@ CR_0174 :: notes].

OWN PRINCIPLE CARRIED FROM THIS SIDE.** "The player is not told not to strike the real one; the

player is given four ways to tell them apart and made responsible for using them"

[BE_0006_false_naga.md:235-239]. This sheet's contribution is that all four of those ways are

PROPERTIES OF THIS BODY — the water it moves, the mass it carries, the courtesy it performs and the

order it performs it in — so the protection is discharged by building this being WELL rather than

by a rule the game states.

conjecture about the category-word yaksa is held as a conjecture in its own frame and is never used

to assert that the island's folkloric beings "were really" an ancestral people; the Naga are

expressly on the other side of that line, conscious beings and not a euphemism for anyone; and the

game never stages the destruction of any such population [sri_lanka.md:529-538, SRC_00263 p. 85;

@ CR_0174 :: cultural_care_register]. Nothing on this sheet touches it, and no NPC debunks

anyone.

sovereign; no invented sacred personal name is minted here, and the counterfeit next door carries a

role-TITLE for the same reason [CH_06.md:299]. The four-serpent-pole discipline holds: this being is

never rendered with another people's attested iconography (§ 3), and the Sri Maha Bodhi enclosure,

the great stupas and the relic tradition are protected living sacred property, referenced and never

reproduced [@ CR_0174 :: cultural_care_register; CH_06.md:239].

NEVER POOLED WITH ITS IMPERSONATOR. Two rows exist by design, "writing one row for the impersonator

and the impersonated would let the honored being inherit the counterfeit's condemned class"

[@ CR_0172 :: notes], and any rendering that blurs them "both defames the honored being and breaks

the encounter at once" [@ CR_0174 :: cultural_care_register]. (2) THIS BEING IS NEVER POOLED WITH

THE YAKKU REGISTER ON EITHER SIDE OF IT: the malevolent Tovil yakku (CR_0173) are the Sinhalese

tradition's own condemned disease-demons and are villain material; the Vedda Nae Yaku (CR_0175) and

Kande Yaka and Bilindi Yaka (CR_0176) are venerated ancestral spirits of a living community and are

not; and the naga are a third thing again, a sovereign conscious people. Three registers, never

merged, never sharing a word on a player surface [sri_lanka.md:651-655; CH_06.md:221].

being never routes through a photographic-wildlife template — that route is what produced a

documentary lizard and is the defect this whole doctrine answers, and it would be worse here,

because the row that a photographic serpent template WOULD serve correctly is one row away

(CR_0030) and shares this body plan. The row's mesh_pipeline_type reads image_to_3d, which is

the concept-plate-then-mesh route and is compatible provided the plate is attended. The shrine, the

offering terrace and the pool are REFERENCE_BUILT. The mesh_tags.style question is a FINDING and

is in § 9, not resolved here.

(1) IS AN UNFIGHTABLE SACRED BEING A DEFANG? Examined and RULED NO. The row's inviolability is canon

stated five times over, not this lane's squeamishness; doctrine part five names the guardian test as

the SACRED class's own facing and names it HARDER; and the chapter is not short of violence — its

main boss is a three-phase encounter and BE_0006_S1 is a night-long fight against a disease-demon at

a warded threshold. The devil's-advocate direction was run: could this be BOLDER? Yes, and the sheet

spends it on the FAILURE STATE rather than on damage, which is the landed sheet's own answer

[BE_0006_false_naga.md:240-250] arrived at independently from this side.

(2) IS THE WITHDRAWAL-ON-STRIKE A PASSIVE STAGING — THE DEFANG TELL HIDING IN STAGING RATHER THAN

IN CONTENT? Examined and RULED NO, and this is the pass this sheet most needs recorded. A being that

fought back would be EASIER, because a fight is a thing a player knows how to be in. What this

design does instead is remove the fight and leave the player holding the consequence, in a pool that

has gone quiet, having done the one thing the chapter told them not to do. That is not passivity; it

is the harder ending.

(3) SHOULD THE COURT HAVE BEEN STAGED AS A TRIAL WITH A CHAIN METER, SINCE RULING_4 NAMES THE

GUARDIAN TEST? REFUSED, and the refusal is obedience to a row rather than caution: the row rules

collect_verb DOCUMENT precisely because "canon stages NO test at this being's threshold", and

names EARN as the alternative only if a later pass stages the court itself as a trial

[@ CR_0174 :: notes]. Inventing a passage gate here would overwrite a live adjudication. The ask

is boarded in § 9 as the thing a later pass may take up.

(4) SHOULD THE MANY-HEADED FORM HAVE BEEN BUILT FOR SPECTACLE? REFUSED, and this pass finds

something. The spectacle is real and the cost is exact: the seven-headed balustrade belongs to the

Khmer record and the crowned candi-bentar form to the Balinese, both already built on the rows their

own traditions attest [BE_0004_S1_gate_naga_guardian.md:59-64; @ CR_0161], and importing either

would merge three peoples' records into one dragon — the exact conflation the region page's naming

block exists to stop [sri_lanka.md:324-333]. THE COUNTERWEIGHT WAS ALSO CHECKED: is refusing it

timidity? No, because the sheet does not go empty-handed — it spends the same identity budget on

the world-response axis, which is a BIGGER read at combat distance than a head count and is the one

the encounter actually needs.

(5) SHOULD THE HOOD HAVE BEEN REMOVED AS AN UNATTESTED ADDITION, ON THE SAME LOGIC THAT REFUSED THE

HEADS? REFUSED, and this pass finds the second thing. The hood is LANDED on the encounter sheet and

first-landed-governs; removing it would break the counterfeit's landed part economy, whose largest

breakable region is the hood-edge felt at 0.12 of silhouette [BE_0006_false_naga.md:206-211]. The

honest treatment is not removal but DECLARATION: the hood is the game's own and is named as ours in

the invention block below, exactly as the doctrine's invention licence requires. Removal is not the

tool; naming is.

its terrace read, the 44-segment rig floor derived from it, the roughly forty-pair hood spreader

chain with its 0-to-80-degree excursion and its skin-only load path, the world-response register in

all its clauses (the bow-wave, the meniscus release, the run-off, the settling lamps, the crescent

of offering-matter, the drying stone band), the polished contact band and the mineral-in-grain and

the healed half-row step, the meet-the-guest-at-the-guest's-level posture rule, the in-phase breath,

the withdrawal-in-protocol, and the arrival-and-departure staging. INHERITED FROM THE LANDED

ENCOUNTER SHEET under first-landed-governs and cited at the line: the borrowed form's description,

the hood, the audience posture, the seated-sovereign silhouette, the mass-and-stance read, and every

landed tell this sheet answers from the other side. CITED: the court and its full political

courtesy, the rise-greet-throne-honours-question protocol and its ORDER, the palace and the realm

of the serpents, the moving of the relics and the action through kin, the escort of the Bodhi

cutting and the bestowing of the kingship, the yaksa layer the chronicles absorb, the anti-fringe

conjecture and its refusal, the inviolate status and the designed failure state, and the

serpent-pole discipline. DERIVED from LIMBLESS.json § sub_plans.serpentine and carried as measured

passive-envelope bounds: the skeleton, the segment counts, the joint ranges and their asymmetry, the

gait modes, the rig conformance, the centreline rule and the segment-minimum derivation.

Thread 3's carrier is one row away.** No player-facing string this sheet proposes carries a

House-of-Velheim name, family or pattern; the chapter predates the family entirely and it first

appears two nodes on at Ch 8 [CH_06.md:112; :269; sri_lanka.md:986-993]. The Grand Sage is dark.

The Mara-vijaya illusion-principle is never named on any surface and is never given a mortal NPC's

face [CH_06.md:300; sri_lanka.md:657-660]. The chapter's only network rows are NW_0004 and

NW_0005, both awareness_tier UNAWARE, attached to the counterfeit's monastic foothold and never to

this being [@ CR_0174 :: notes]. All perception is at the Neophyte register.

Written affirmatively. Every line names what IS in frame.

THE LANDED PLATES STAND AND ARE NOT RESTATED. BE_0006_false_naga.md:264-280 dispatches five

plates, and PLATE E is this being's — "a sovereign serpent being of the same form rising to greet a

visitor, the water lifting and running from its coils as it moves, rendered with full dignity and full

presence" [:275-277], with its own route note ruling it ATTENDED_DESIGN [:278-280]. **PLATE E IS

PRESERVED EXACTLY AS LANDED AND THIS SHEET RE-ISSUES NOTHING OF IT.** The plates below are the ones

that sheet's five do not contain, and every exclusion clause in this block is scoped to THIS BLOCK'S

OWN PLATES.

primary axis and is judged on one question: does the water look like it is being moved by something

heavy? PLATE M is the acceptance test for the A5 discrimination and is judged on whether the

material reads as polished INTO the surface rather than laid ON it, because the counterfeit's coat

is the opposite and the two must never be confusable at contact distance. PLATE O is the acceptance

test for the § 4 contract's first two finders and is judged on the raise ratio and the terrace

offering terrace and the lamps are REFERENCE_BUILT, and no consecrated ground is reproduced as a

hero asset [CH_06.md:239].

9. boarded_debts

Registry implications this sheet found and did not write. No registry, canon file or build artifact

was edited by this lane.

canon has already chosen the archetype through the landed encounter sheet. § 2 derives by archetype

coverage and cites the path, which is the doctrine-legal route; THE ASK is the registry-side one —

assign CR_0174 to LIMBLESS in the archetype map now that a landed canon-side sheet names its body

plan, so the derivation has a machine-readable home. Same ask, same shape, for CR_0172.

SHEET.** CH_06.md:240 reserves stylization by name: "mythologically-stylized only for the

deceiver-yaka and the Tovil demons and their masks". That reservation names two items.

@ CR_0174 :: mesh_tags.style reads mythologically-stylized, which is a third. THIS SHEET FOLLOWS

THE ROW AND STATES ITS OWN GROUND RATHER THAN ASSERTING A PREFERENCE — **AND WHAT FOLLOWS IS THIS

SHEET'S READING OF THE TWO LINES, NOT A CHARACTERISATION OF WHAT CANON MEANT; A PROPOSAL DOES NOT

GET TO SAY WHAT A CANON LINE INTENDS.** The reading, with its ground: the chapter's own mechanic is

that the counterfeit wears this being's form and the player must read them apart by marks

[CH_06.md:29; :157], so two different render registers would let the counterfeit be identified by

register alone and the encounter would collapse — which is why this sheet builds both bodies in one

register. The second piece of ground is that the spine's own asset anchor lists the genuine Naga as

its own item — "the genuine Naga as a sacred inviolate being (never a combat target)"

[CH_06.md:238] — carrying no style token at all, so the roster's three serpent-form rows are not all

spoken to at :240. THIS SHEET DOES NOT RULE WHICH LINE IS RIGHT. THE ASK, for the spine owner

and not for this lane: decide whether CH_06.md:240's reservation should name the genuine Naga

explicitly, so the row and the line agree on the face of both. **A LANE MAY NOT EDIT CANON AND THIS

ONE DID NOT.**

DRIFT-BOARDING FORM, AND NOTHING HERE ACTS ON IT.** The chronicle supports a FIFTH mark that the

landed four do not carry: THE COURT IS PLURAL AND ACTS THROUGH KIN. "the great snakes" escort

the tree and worship it as a body [SRC_00261 p. 197], and the king does not act alone but "sends a

hint to his nephew who swallows the urn and departs" [SRC_00261 p. 282]. A counterfeit at a usurped

shrine is SINGULAR by construction — it has no court, because a court is the one thing an accretion

cannot accrete. That is a count read, it survives black fill, and it is cited rather than invented.

It is NOT added to § 4's marks table and NOT added to the landed tell roster, because adding a fifth

tell shape to a landed encounter is exactly the drift first-landed-governs exists to stop. Recorded

for BE_0006's owning lane to take or refuse.

BE_0006_false_naga.md:143-144 calls the hood's mechanism "paired quadrate-analogue spreaders",

while the anatomy bucket's own skeleton block rules the quadrate a JAW bone

[LIMBLESS.json § sub_plans.serpentine.skeleton] and the real mechanism is costal — elongated

anterior ribs rotating at their costovertebral joints on a body the bucket says has one free rib

pair per vertebra and no sternum. § 5 supplies the costal structure this sheet owns; the landed

phrase reads as a naming approximation rather than an error of design, and nothing on that sheet is

changed here.

and this sheet is the SECOND CONSUMER of a finding the landed sheet already boarded

[BE_0006_false_naga.md:297-300]. What this sheet adds to it: the being-class now HAS a creature

row (CR_0174) with a mesh_pipeline_type and a generation_status, so the routing gap is narrower

than when it was boarded — what remains unrouted is the CHARACTER row's relationship to the creature

row, since CHAR_0042 is a named sovereign of the class this row carries and no column joins them.

with full political agency. The counterfeit next door carries intelligence_tier sorcerous on its

boss row [@ BE_0006]; the being it impersonates carries nothing anywhere. This is the third

instance of the empty-intelligence_tier class in the recent waves.

RATIO and whose landed silhouette is defined by meeting a standing person at eye height. The design

rule has no machine-readable dimension behind it. THE ASK is to fill both on an axis that states

what it measures, per the axis-type correction already boarded at

CR_0038_indian_leopard.md:799-808.

this row that is load-bearing rather than cosmetic: § 4's primary axis IS a world response, and

vril_substrate_response is the column doctrine § 2.3 names as that axis's existing data home. The

landed encounter sheet boarded the same column from the other side, asking "whether an absence needs

a column value or the absence of one" [BE_0006_false_naga.md:284-287]; this row is the presence

the absence is measured against, and filling it here would give that question its baseline.

moonstone, palm and cloud-forest" [CH_06.md:240] — on a being made of scale, water-mineral and lamp

light. Tank-water is the one member that reaches it. Same palette-contamination class boarded on

CR_0143 for CH_05 and CR_0038 for CH_07, reproducing across every CH_06 row.

DESIGNED-AND-DECLINED CHAIN RATHER THAN AS A GESTURE AT ONE.** The row's own adjudication says EARN

"is the alternative only if a later pass stages the court itself as a trial" [@ CR_0174 :: notes].

§ 6 declines to stage one and § 7 pass (3) records why, **AND THE REFUSAL STANDS: NOTHING BELOW IS

STAGED, ROWED OR IN PLAY.** What is written out is only the SHAPE the chain would take if a later

pass ruled EARN, so that ruling is a one-line registry decision rather than a fresh design pass. The

five reads are the chronicle's own five beats in the chronicle's own order, already carried as the

design's sequence in § 6 [sri_lanka.md:540-544, SRC_00261 p. 282], one read per beat, which lands

inside the ruled five-to-nine band with no beat invented:

adult's, which § 6's POSTURE channel already carries as behaviour.

is scaled, rather than performed at speed.

suspicion, without pressing, and is whatever answer given accepted.

THE ONE THING A LATER PASS MUST NOT INHERIT FROM THIS BOARD: these are reads the PLAYER takes of

a being that answers correctly every time, not gates the being sets. Turning them into a passage

gate is the collect_verb change itself, and it is the spine-and-registry decision — not a design

sheet's, and not this one's.

Three CH_06 rows share one body plan and two of them share a FORM ON PURPOSE. A lane that keys a

plate, a mesh, a conditioning image or a rig by "naga", "serpent" or "snake" rather than by

creature_id will serve the counterfeit's asset into the sacred being's slot, which is the one

substitution this chapter's care read cannot survive. THE GUARD: id-keyed lookup only, in both

directions, and no binomial or common-noun match is ever sufficient. This extends the two-row guard

landed at CR_0147_reticulated_python.md:285-292 to a three-row case with a care consequence.

which is why the physical_profile block (the CR_0002 § 10 form) is not authored here; the CR_0002 template requires a

MEASURED enclosed_volume_m3 off a shipped mesh at canon scale and this row's generation_status

is pending with mesh_id_ref EMPTY, so a guessed volume would poison the emitter at its source

[CR_0002_naga_tana_water_aspect.md:287-291]. Deferred to the mesh landing with § 2's ROM table

derived and ready to carry.

Tovil keystones [sri_lanka.md:1357-1365]. Neither reaches this being's ICONOGRAPHY, which is why

§ 3 designs a body and claims no iconographic attestation. THE ASK: add a Sri Lankan naga-tradition

and Mahavamsa-commentary anchor to the acquisition list, so a later pass can supersede this sheet's

declared inventions in place rather than carrying them forward as the record.

weight passes through it (it does not — skin only, and that is why the counterfeit's landed
