CANON SUBORDINATION — this document is PROPOSAL-TIER: it serves canon and never outranks it.
The canon: the CVD · the T1 foundation docs · the T0 registries (registries/) · the spine
(docs/spine/CH_*.md) · the region pages (_source/02_Tier_2_Region_Pages/). Authority order:docs/DOC_MAP.md§ 0.

If this document disagrees with canon, CANON WINS and this document is the defect — fix the
document, never the canon. Nothing here is applied until it is ratified into canon.
Connections, each citing its Cross_Cultural_Link_Graph row AND carrying that row's own
link_type — the characterization is per-link, never a blanket. Only the parallel-independent
links are a shared category, never a diffusion claim; the registry types others as genuine
transmission, cognate-descent, prefiguration, or contrast, and the page says so per row. Rows the
deep-read pass opened that have no LINK_ id yet are written as originating here with their target
ends still owed, so a claim is never made without naming the machine tie it does not have. The
harvest behind this section was small and is reported at its true size in the closing note: of the
candidate links the deep read proposed, five carried both ends named and cited, and only those
five are written below. No cut or held row is consumed here.
from the Manggarai coast at the Ch-3 close, carrying Shell (W1) and an inscription-sense that
has not yet become reading. Three links arrive with them — the vital-force-eater parallel,
polo → leyak (LINK_0146, parallel-independent, a shared cosmological category, joined at the
Night-Leyak defense CH04_B03), plus the architecture-proportion (LINK_0119) and unity-weaving
(LINK_0137) rows out of the Manggarai builds, both typed weaving-progression. The Flores end
holds the mechanism in the Nage's own terms and the Bali end holds it in the Balinese: the leyak
is the tradition's own condemned pengiwa adept, warded by the village balian, and the rhyme is
what the two traditions independently name as a person hollowed and turned, never a claim that
either taught the other
sea-cliff temple with Captain I Wayan Dwija (CHAR_0029), and five links cross with them — the
leyak → begu-ganjang conjured-predator parallel (LINK_0147, parallel-independent), plus the
Solar-Hero seed (LINK_0082), architecture-proportion (LINK_0120), guardian-at-the-gate
(LINK_0128), and unity-weaving-with-arts (LINK_0138) into the Borobudur crossing, those four all
typed weaving-progression. This is the page's heaviest outbound seam and the one the deep read
reinforced with real substrate: see the Java-derivation link below, which is the only new weave
in this section whose target region page already exists
leyak → krasue/ap (LINK_0186, parallel-independent, a shared cosmological category, never a
diffusion claim) — received on the angkor_khmer page (the reciprocal claim was added at the
director pass following the 2026-07-21 ruling batch; the outgoing line predated the excursion
page)
These four are the substantive addition this pass makes, and all four are DESCENT claims rather
than parallels: Balinese Hinduism received them through attested channels, and naming the descent
is the point. None has a Cross_Cultural_Link_Graph row or a target region page yet, so each is
written as owed, and the evidence caveat at the end of this block binds them at their own tiers.
the Sea of Milk that yields the Tirtha Amertha, is the Samudra Manthan of the Mahabharata
carried whole, not a parallel invention — which is why Balinese holy water and sea water share
one purifying power in practice rather than by analogy [SRC: SRC_00157, p. 59-63 — Eiseman,
Bali: Sekala & Niskala]. Typed reception-transmission, frame documented-transmission,
significance lens C2. The design value is recurrence: the same myth can resurface, recognizably
transmitted, when the arc reaches Indic ground, instead of being reinvented per culture
beheading-by-the-discus story carried intact, the immortal severed head that swallows sun and
moon [SRC: SRC_00157, p. 62-63; p. 194]. Typed linguistic-cognate, frame documented-transmission,
lens C2. This one pays a debt the page already owed itself: the Balinese telling has Kala Rau
pursuing Dewi Ratih specifically, and this page already claims the Moon-Goddess link toward Ch 7
(LINK_0135, below). The pursuer and the pursued are one myth, and the two rows should be read
and eventually built as a pair rather than as two unrelated gates
into Bali and localized through the calonarang, where rangda is the high-Balinese word for widow
[SRC: SRC_00157, p. 21; p. 298]. Typed reception-transmission, frame documented-transmission,
Thread 10 (Mother Goddess / Pre-Patriarchal), lens C1. This link is care-positive and is the
reason the never-villainize guardrail is principled rather than squeamish: naming the descent
establishes that she is a goddess-aspect held in balance, not a horror-trope witch, and it is
the same claim Section 5 makes, that Section 16 names Belo as the anchor for, and that Section
20 gates build-readiness on. Elevated care rides the row; the link exists to reinforce reverence
and may never be read as licensing a villain casting
localized onto real volcanoes. The dossier carries the telling in the tradition's own words —
the supreme god who resides on Meru broke apart the summit and sent the pieces to Bali, the son
becoming Agung and the daughter taking the name Dewi Danu of Batur — and states plainly that the
volcanic peaks are fragments of the cosmic mountain brought by the Hindu gods [SRC: SRC_00251,
p. II-19; p. II-2 — Cultural Landscape of Bali Province, UNESCO nomination dossier 2011]. Typed
reception-transmission, frame documented-transmission, Thread 18 (Sacred Mountains / Axis
Locations), lens C5. It sets up the Indic religious substrate the arc reaches at the India
chapters and gives Section 1's Agung axis a cosmological reason rather than a scenic one
on all four, and the far ends are not the same tier. The Meru row's far end is stated by the
dossier itself, an expert-compiled and ICOMOS-evaluated state-party nomination that cites
peer-reviewed work throughout, so that row stands on its own attestation and is not gated on any
further acquisition. The three Eiseman rows rest at their far ends on a first-hand
long-residence participant-observer relaying general Indological knowledge from outside his own
fieldwork, in a 1990 trade-press essay collection; descriptive Balinese practice from that source
is well-supported, the comparative far ends are not. Those three should not harden into
Cross_Cultural_Link_Graph rows before the Section-16 anchors land — the Rangda row above all,
which is the one Belo actually answers and which Section 20 already gates build-readiness on
show a strong link to the Classical states of Java, which is the dossier's own art-historical
claim in its own sentence, not a resemblance the reader supplied [SRC: SRC_00251, p. II-32].
Typed reception-transmission, frame documented-transmission, Thread 13 (Sacred Geometry /
Architecture), lens A2. This is the cleanest new weave in the harvest — both ends named and
cited inside one attested sentence — and it is the only one whose target region page already
exists, so it reciprocates directly into the Ch-5 crossing the seams above already stage. It
also gives the outbound architecture-proportion gate (LINK_0120) a substrate reason for
existing: the player who reads the gorge candi before sailing west arrives at Java's stone
already able to see what derives from what. The valley's own name-and-lineage substrate is not
claimed here — it is queued for Section 7 with the gorge site, and Section 6 keeps its
reservation of a lineage-carried pusaka for the build pass; no named blade is minted anywhere on
this page
Proto-Indo-Iranian serpent-term chain, a common-descent relationship between WORDS) and the naga
caravan-route toward Ch 20 (LINK_0031, reception-transmission — the Indic naga motif carried
west by Buddhist caravan, a transmission claim the registry makes deliberately)
candi-bentar threshold inverts the Flores naga-tana's roused danger — the same being-class,
guarding instead of roused, which is the island's whole lesson
LINK_0057 (Ch 15, contrast-inversion — the cyclic Barong-Rangda balance against the
once-and-for-all Osiris) and LINK_0058 (Mesoamerica, Ch 47, sets-up — the cyclic form
PREFIGURING the cyclic Quetzalcoatl, a like-form prefiguration and not a contrast)
with a substrate pairing on the Bali end as noted in the Kala Rau row above
(LINK_0168, parallel-independent — two traditions that each split one craft into a sanctioned
and a condemned branch, never a claim of contact)
The island tiger is a cross-regional fact and is NOT a Cross_Cultural_Link_Graph row. Bali sits on
the Sunda Shelf, and low Ice-Age sea levels repeatedly joined Bali, Java and Sumatra across
exposed land until the Last Glacial Maximum ended about twenty thousand years ago, which is why
the three islands' tigers are one recent lineage rather than three separate arrivals [SRC:
SRC_00496, p. 248; p. 253 — Xue et al. 2015, J Hered 106(3):247-257]. That is common descent in an
animal, not a parallel between cultures, and it must never be typed or written as one — the
Bali-and-Java tiger register the Ch-5 crossing carries rests on a genuinely shared animal, which
is a stronger claim than a resemblance and a different kind of claim entirely. The finding itself
is design-layer science grounding, authorial and never era-present investigable play: a player at
~1200 CE meets the tiger, not the phylogeny. The page therefore carries it as Section-3 fauna
substrate plus this authorial note, with no link row minted. Two consequences for later hands: no
fauna link toward Flores is claimed anywhere on this page, and nothing here types Bali's fauna as
Wallacean.
This is the spine's own twelve-gate origination set — LINK_0029, LINK_0031, LINK_0057, LINK_0058,
LINK_0082, LINK_0120, LINK_0128, LINK_0135, LINK_0138, LINK_0147, LINK_0168, and LINK_0186, the
twelfth added at the director pass after the page's earlier eleven-gate count was written — plus
the three received rows, LINK_0119 and LINK_0137 out of the Ch-3 Manggarai builds and LINK_0146
out of the Ch-2 arrival node, plus the five substrate weaves the deep read added above.
Reciprocation discipline binds: each claimed link is reciprocated at its target as the target
pages are cut, which is exactly why the four Indic rows are written as owed rather than as done —
minting their rows is a registry action, and the Indic end has no region page here to receive them.
The honest report on the harvest is that it was thin, and padding it would have been the worse
error. The deep read proposed seventeen candidate cross-regional links across the four audited
records. Five advanced and are written above. Eight were cut at audit and four are held pending
fixes, and not one of those twelve rows is consumed here. One qualification is owed rather than
glossed: the true fact underneath the cut tiger link — that the Bali, Javan and Sumatran tigers
are one lineage — is present in the fauna note above, carried from the consumable science-grounding
row that states the mechanism directly and typed as the common descent it is, which is precisely
the remedy the audit recommended. The cut row's claim, that this is a parallel of independent
invention, appears nowhere.
The failures did not reduce to one shape, and recording them accurately is the point, so a later
pass does not re-propose them. Six distinct defects account for the twelve: a far end that is an
abstraction rather than a named culture, which cannot be checked at all because there is no second
end to check; a far end that names a real culture but carries no citation for that end; a target
end asserted off-source, where the naming and the sharing claim appear nowhere in the source cited
for them; a contrast asserted against whole civilizations that the source never actually draws,
which imports a scholarly thesis under cover of a compliment to the region under audit; a
chronology-and-direction defect, conflating strata centuries apart and inverting which end is the
source; and a relation of common descent typed as a parallel of independent invention, which is a
factual inversion rather than a bookkeeping slip. A seventh, on a held row, was a plain
biogeographic error — Bali placed in Wallacea when it sits on the Sunda Shelf, west of the Wallace
Line — which is why this section states the shelf fact positively. The remedy for most of them is
the same and is a research action, not an authoring one: give the far end a name and its own page
anchor from its own region's shelf.
The arc's larger corruption pattern is held dark at page grain — Section 11 records its absence,
the certification apparatus is felt as institutional pressure and never explained, and the
design-layer resonances above stay design-visible only.
