CANON SUBORDINATION — this document is PROPOSAL-TIER: it serves canon and never outranks it.
The canon: the CVD · the T1 foundation docs · the T0 registries (registries/) · the spine
(docs/spine/CH_*.md) · the region pages (_source/02_Tier_2_Region_Pages/). Authority order:docs/DOC_MAP.md§ 0.
Canon served (structural — the registries this kit's canon rows live in, plus its chapter's spine node):
T0_Boss_Encounter_Registry·docs/spine/CH_13.md
READ THAT CANON FIRST — open it and derive from it before you build anything from this document.
If this document disagrees with canon, CANON WINS and this document is the defect — fix the
document, never the canon. Nothing here is applied until it is ratified into canon.
PROPOSAL-TIER. This kit serves canon and never outranks it. It writes no registry row.
The law it obeys: docs/proposals/combat/KIT_SCALING_TABLE.md. The intelligence scale:
docs/proposals/combat/INTELLIGENCE_TIERS.md. The body it fights with is the bestiary
lane's: docs/proposals/bestiary/BESTIARY_ELEVATION_DOCTRINE.md and its sheets. This file
describes the FIGHT; it never restates the BODY. Authors no magnitude -- no damage, no
health, no timing, no coefficient. Those are Phase-5M's behind the tuning firewall.

Silhouette read. A cut panel, and the pattern still trying to complete itself.
Opener (MHM-G10, the cheap lesson first). THE INCOMPLETE FORM -- the panel's entoptic geometry starts and stops where the cut is. Free, and it is the grievance stated without a word.
| phase | name | what it PUSHES (nothing pops) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | the surge | the pattern is strengthened and unstable. Reading under pressure. |
| 2 | the steadying | BE_0013_S3's evolve-not-swap clause: it COMPOUNDS THE SAME PATTERN-FORMS, NO NEW ATTACKS. |
| # | ability | phase | kind | body origin | tell shape | counter | element | lore ground + mechanism | note |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | The Incomplete Form | 1 | non-ordinary | the panel, where the cut is | the geometry starts and stops | any | none | LORE GROUND: BE_0013_S3 target_type = materialized_teaching_construct, threads = T13, at EG_0206's mining-defaced panel. MECHANISM: the entoptic register is a form that completes; a cut leaves it trying. Element none -- nothing elemental is claimed and the tradition names none. | CARE: a TEACHING construct, never a demonized figure. See the care read. |
| 2 | The Surge | 1 | non-ordinary | the strengthened register | the pattern brightens beyond legibility | cover | none | LORE GROUND: BE_0013_S3 phase_breakdown_object -- 'the pattern-read UNDER THE SURGE'. MECHANISM: strengthening is not aggression; it is a form under stress. Element none. | |
| 3 | The False Form | 1 | non-ordinary | a completion that is not the panel's | a way to finish the pattern that is easier than the true one | neutralize | none | LORE GROUND: BE_0013_S3's own counter -- 'trace the true entoptic form and REFUSE THE FALSE ONE'. MECHANISM: the wrong completion is available and attractive. Element none. | |
| 4 | The True Form | 1 | non-ordinary | the panel's own geometry | a line that closes on itself without inventing anything | weak_point | none | LORE GROUND: same counter on BE_0013_S3. MECHANISM: the named weak point is a correct tracing. Element none. The form is READ, never reproduced -- EG_0206 and EG_0203 both bind. | |
| 5 | The Slack | 1 | non-ordinary | the surge's own period | the brightness drops for a beat | trigger_interrupt | none | LORE GROUND: BE_0013_S3's counter -- 'time the evade to the surge's slack'. composure_nodes = environmental=surge_slack_time. Element none. | |
| 6 | The Cut Edge | 1 | physical | the mining tool's actual damage | a straight line where nothing in the panel is straight | any | -- | -- | PHYSICAL, and the only physical thing in the encounter: someone did this with a chisel. |
| 7 | The Pressure | 1 | non-ordinary | the pocket's own air under the surge | your own reading gets harder rather than your body | neutralize | none | LORE GROUND: BE_0013_S3 axis_split = 20/55/25, Puzzle-dominant. MECHANISM: the difficulty is perceptual and never physical. Element none. | |
| 8 | The Compounded Forms | 2 | non-ordinary | several patterns overlapping | two incomplete forms occupy the same span of wall | neutralize | none | LORE GROUND: BE_0013_S3's evolve-not-swap clause -- 'compounds the same pattern-forms, no new attacks'. MECHANISM: the same problem, more of it. Element none. | PATTERN COUNTER: which line belongs to which form is a read across the whole span. |
| 9 | The Attractive Completion | 2 | non-ordinary | the false form, improved | the wrong completion is now more beautiful than the right one | neutralize | none | LORE GROUND: BE_0013_S3's same evolve-not-swap clause. MECHANISM: the temptation escalates rather than the danger. Element none. | |
| 10 | The Held Trace | 2 | non-ordinary | the true form, followed all the way | the line closes | weak_point | none | LORE GROUND: BE_0013_S3 composure_nodes = puzzle_routed=entoptic_form_trace. MECHANISM: the trace is a sustained input. Element none. | |
| 11 | The Steadying | 2 | non-ordinary | the panel, coming back to legibility | the brightness drops to the level the rest of the wall carries | any | none | LORE GROUND: BE_0013_S3 win_condition = PERCEIVE;PURGE. MECHANISM: the win is a wall that is readable again. Element none. | |
| 12 | What the Cut Leaves | 2 | non-ordinary | the panel, steadied and still damaged | the form completes around the cut and the cut is still there | any | none | LORE GROUND: BE_0013_S3 threads = T13, and the chapter's own grievance. MECHANISM: the encounter does not repair the desecration. It cannot. Element none. | The honest ending, and the reason the chapter's main fight matters. |
ELEVATED, AND NOT ELEMENTAL BY DEFAULT (KIT_SCALING_TABLE 3.1b). 11 of the 12 moves
above are non-ordinary and each names its element family, its lore ground and its
mechanism. The rest are a body doing physical things, and they are marked physical rather
than dressed up. An elevated kit is one that CONTAINS the non-ordinary; it is not one in
which everything glows.

IT DOES NOT ENTER OR LEAVE. It is a wall that was cut. WHAT IT DOES TO THE ARENA: nothing -- and the encounter's grief is that something already did.
care_tier = elevated, target_type = materialized_teaching_construct, threads = T13. THE ROW'S OWN PARENTHESIS BINDS: a materialized-TEACHING environmental beat, NEVER A DEMONIZED FIGURE. Nothing here is malevolent and nothing is fought -- the panel is under stress because it was cut, and the player steadies it by reading it correctly. The entoptic material is TRACED AND NEVER REPRODUCED, per EG_0206 and EG_0203. Ability 12 refuses the easy ending: the cut is still there afterwards, because a game that let a player undo a desecration by solving a puzzle would be lying about what desecration is.
This kit is authored ONCE, at Fading. The five modulators of KIT_SCALING_TABLE section 4
express it across the ladder: active_ability_set grows upward through reserved follow-ups
on roots the player already learned, window_class tightens, answer_tree_depth prunes
toward the single true answer, hazard_concurrency rises with the arena rows above, and
phase_overlap interleaves the phase cycles. No second kit exists and no number here changes
with the tier.
