THE ABILITY EXEMPLAR DOSSIER — A_E_003 ROCK THROW

What this is. The complete concept/text-tier exemplar dossier for the exemplar-first motion

law's named pilot. The law (docs/spine/DECISIONS_PENDING_JOSH.md L4017-4031, Josh 2026-08-06):

ONE judged, Josh-graded exemplar frame per subject — the right caster in the right world at the

ability's signature_read moment — is created and PASSED first; every other beat, band, and motion

frame is then DERIVED from that exemplar by image/video conditioning. Per-tile independent text

prompts on multi-frame surfaces are BANNED. The pilot is named in the ruling itself: *"Pilot =

Rock Throw itself (A_E_003), the named case, end to end: exemplar -> judged -> motion strip ->

judged."* The PIPELINE_LEDGER's A1 and A2 rows independently name the same exemplar. This dossier

is the authoring contract that generation executes against; it generates nothing itself.

Authority. PROPOSAL-TIER, and it rules nothing. Canon binds every line: the CVD, the T0 row

(registries/T0_Ability_Tree_Registry [ACTIVE v0.1] @ A_E_003 — all 44 columns read for this

dossier), T1_Ability_Tree [ACTIVE v1.4] §11.1, docs/D1-27_ELEMENT_VISUAL_LAW.md (the Earth

family + the four-beat grammar + the light law + the period anchor), the presentation ladder

(T0_Ability_Presentation_Tier APT_0075-0082), the SFX quartet (T0_SFX_Registry SFX_00050-53),

and the Ch 3 spine (docs/spine/CH_03.md CH03_B04). Where this dossier and canon disagree, canon

wins and this dossier is the defect.

Honest tier. CONCEPT/TEXT. The count of acceptable ability visuals is 0 (Josh verbatim,

2026-08-06) and this dossier moves that number nowhere — only his grade on the generated exemplar

does. All 1,536 existing ability plates are factory residue on the banned architecture and none

is consumed here. GPU generation is queued separately (§7) and is not this seat's work.

presentation_tier_ref on the row). The exemplar is the T1 cast: everything arrives half a

beat late, arm's-reach source, the protagonist does it and the world allows it (D1-27's three

axes at rung 1).

2. THE CONCEPT — the exemplar frame

One frame. It is graded before anything else exists, and everything else is conditioned on it.

ground and hangs at hip height beside the protagonist, turning slowly, still wearing its dirt.

The open socket it left is visible at their feet. The throwing arm is not yet committed — the

shoulder is beginning to come round. This is the one instant that contains the whole T1 story:

the world did something small because a child asked, and the body still has to do the rest.

point of the age ladder — the age-7 keystone. The binding reference at generation time is

the Josh-graded keystone pick for that age (the face/body keystone lanes are live; this dossier

names the dependency rather than freezing a file path). Whole-entity floor applies: the

exemplar is judged full-figure — face AND body AND dress (the arrival-set garment state for

Ch 3), never a face crop or a hand crop.

and dry stone at a lingko-edge terrace, neutral outdoor daylight (the D1-27 Earth

plate_setting, which this scene satisfies diegetically). The period anchor sentence is

dispatched verbatim: everything built or made in frame is hand-worked sun-dried mud brick, lime

plaster, undressed fieldstone, split timber, thatch and plain iron, carrying tool marks, wear

and settling.

the stone stands clear of the open hand; the hand holds and aims, it does not clutch. Camera at

a mid full-figure distance that keeps the socket, the stone, and the whole body in frame; the

silhouette must read at phone scale (boards law).

the existing daylight, and by silhouette. Mechanisms declared: occlusion, carried_material,

silhouette. The full D1-27 banned-class list is armed against the frame: no aura, no rim-light

without a source, no ring or disc of light, no arcane geometry, no glowing eyes, no self-lit

stone, no particle sparkle, no magic light shaft.

(source in frame), the hip-height stone wearing dirt (the material is the ground's own), the

uncommitted overhand posture (the somatic form's truth — the throw does the work), and a world

that is Manggarai and not a void (the right world, per the law's own words).

3. PHYSICS AND ENVIRONMENT IMPACTS — what the world does, and what the engine must realize

Canon already authors the impacts ("no impacts to environment" is a runtime gap, never an

authoring gap — DECISIONS L4032-4036). This section is the realization contract for the A1

foundry build.

not a decal on a timer (D1-27 aftermath rule: the aftermath is a change in the PLACE). Engine:

ground deformation or socket mesh/decal with no auto-fade; loose earth partially slides back in

(SFX_00053's read) but the socket stays open and legible.

Earth motion signature: never darts, never hovers decoratively; the hang at the hand is the

vril, the flight is honest ballistics). It sheds grit along its line (a short-lived trail that

is falling material, not glow).

material scattering downrange, the stone splitting on the strike more often than not at T1.

The target's response is a body response — knocked off their footing rather than thrown

(Earth impact law). Status handoff: Crush → ST_010 stagger per the Earth family's resolved

status row; the foundry applies it on a landed cast through the wired status subsystem.

has to step around what is left. Both persist on the encounter's timescale.

workaround is the carried bag of sand, visible in frame as the source when used. The cast has

no source and therefore no cast where neither exists — the presence rule is a design fact the

foundry enforces, not a soft failure.

(Feet slot); EAM eligibility on a bonded Root familiar (not exercised at Ch 3). Magnitudes —

damage, stagger duration, socket lifetime numbers — stay Phase-5M firewalled; this dossier

authors shapes only.

4. THE VFX BREAKDOWN — the four beats plus the body

Per the D1-27 four-beat grammar. FLIGHT and IMPACT are named and keyed here, not left implied.

through open air; the socket opens; the stone arrives half a beat behind the gesture (T1

latency) and settles at hip height, turning slowly, dirt still on it. Dust enters the existing

daylight — that dust is the only "effect," and it is lit, never lighting.

overhand throw: weight shift, shoulder round, follow-through. The vril lifts and holds; the arm

aims and commits. At this depth the throw is often bad, and a bad throw makes a bad stone —

the imperfection is authored and stays in.

shedding off it in a falling line. No trail glow, no ribbon, no distortion halo.

scatters downrange, the stone usually splits; the target is knocked off footing; ST_010 stagger

read hands off to the status framework's on-target channel.

open socket (SFX_00053); the ground keeps the record at both ends of the throw.

exemplar frame, once graded, becomes the look-target the real VFX pass is judged against.

5. THE MOTION PLAN — exemplar to strip, by conditioning only

8-12 frames: 3 cast, 1-2 flight, 2 impact, 2 aftermath, the exemplar itself sitting at the

signature pause). The strip is the boards-law reviewable surface (phone-viewable, motion strip

per the abilities/weapons law); the in-engine animation + Niagara realization is the A1 wave's

separate deliverable judged against the same frames.

from the exemplar by image/video conditioning — identity, scene, light and palette are carried

by the exemplar, never re-described in text per frame. Independent per-tile text prompts are

BANNED; a strip produced any other way is factory residue on arrival, whatever it looks like.

landed** (no PIPE_ survey doc exists in docs/pipeline_review/ at this writing). The survey

(NVIDIA stack + the open field) follows the gen-4 face result because the same conditioning

recipe that passes Josh's eye on the protagonist is the foundation here. The strip does not

generate until the survey lands a recipe.

eight authored reads are the derivation targets for a later per-tier pass, and that pass is

BLOCKED behind the graded T1 exemplar (ledger A3's own rule: do not generate tiered variants

until the exemplar route passes, or the per-tile defect repeats at 8x volume).

6. ACCEPTANCE GATES — what "passed" means, in order

The gates run in order; a failure at any gate stops the chain there. G1-G5 are checkable by a

critic or a scanner before Josh's time is spent; G6 is the only gate that moves the shippable

count.

the graded keystone reference (whole-entity floor: face, body, hands, dress all judged).

failed regardless of quality.

the arm."

scene drift, no light-law breach introduced in motion); the four beats each legible; judged by

Josh after G6, per the pilot's "exemplar -> judged -> motion strip -> judged."

route, low cost off the pool, ST_010 handoff, and the aftermath REALIZED as persistent world

change (socket + scatter); package bytes hashed outside the editor before/after import (the

BUG-0056 law); evidence captured through a pixel-verified instrument only (the BUG-0055 law:

commandlet pose capture is not evidence).

7. QUEUED SEPARATELY — the GPU generation wave (not this seat's work)

Inputs the generation wave picks up, all named here so its charter is one paragraph: this dossier

(the contract), the Josh-graded age-7 keystone (G1's reference), the D1-27 Earth dispatch strings

(the family's own separation + period sentences), and the landed tool-survey recipe (§5's named

blocker). Its outputs come back through §6's gate order. Until that wave runs and G6 passes, the

honest register on every surface stays: acceptable ability visuals = 0.
