CANON SUBORDINATION — this document is PROPOSAL-TIER: it serves canon and never outranks it.

Status: PROPOSAL. Read-only deep-dive. No canon, registry, or gate was edited to produce this. The single
deliverable is this file. Recommendations + reasoning + options; Josh confirms all chapter/naming/numerical/
hard-line calls and every lineage classification below.
Method: canon + tier + vision deep-dive (CVD Pillar 4, the 12-tier Hermetic ladder, §17.1 Care Doctrine, §6.2
care tiers, §19.1 Frame A reframe history, Thread 8 + the 20 Weavings) cross-checked against the 0.E roster
(docs/proposals/school_roster_rows.json) and the live registry (`registries/T0_School_Registry [DRAFT v0.1]/
Sheet1.csv`), then filtered through real scholarship and the Care Doctrine's respect-the-living discipline.
Guardrails honored: §17.1 represent-with-care; §19.1 Frame A (real science/history/material-culture only, no
pseudo-archaeology / hyperdiffusion / racist framing); do-not-invent (the 13 schools and their CVD L189 chapter
anchors are hard canon — this proposal CONFIRMS and OPTIMIZES, it does not add a 14th school or move a canon
anchor).

Two things are asked. The first — the placements, verbs, tiers, and gate roles — is already substantially built
in the 0.E roster and is largely CVD-hard-canon; my job there is to CONFIRM the grounding and surface the few
optimization flags. The second — the lineage_continuity_classification for all 13 schools — is the genuinely
open field (blank in every registry row), and it is the analytic core of this document. The third ask, the
WEAVINGS, is where the current material is thinnest; Part 4 develops it substantively.
school names, the Inner/Outer-Order tier split, and the "runs on vril" executable test (CVD L190).
lineage_continuity_classification for all13 (Part 5); the cross-school verb-lineage and cross-thread weaving map (Part 4); a small set of scholarship-
grounding optimizations (Part 6).

Every regional chapter anchor is CVD L189 hard canon and is confirmed. The verbs are grounded in the Ability
Tree (ABIL) at the exact unlock points canon already specifies (Astral Projection + Item Rift at the Ch 15 tomb
artifact; Temporal Echo at the Ch 21 Oracle Bone; the first Layer B dual-base combo as the Ch 18 COMBINE grant;
the first vril-seat-trade combo as the Ch 47 SYNTHESIZE grant). The tier discipline is consistent and correct:
T1-T2 grant the new verb, T3-T5 grant verb-modifiers, T6-T8 grant combination/expression — never larger numbers.
No change proposed to any of this.
Three structural observations on placement, each CONFIRMED-as-intended with a flag rather than an edit:
The Old World ancient arc is where the historical mystery schools lived, and the New World / modern arc is
where the player APPLIES them. This is coherent, but see 3.3 on the resulting mid-arc gap.
42-Confessions realm. This is not a conflict; it is a designed bookend. The Ch 15 Duat sequence explicitly
previews the 42 Confessions (CVD L71; WGM L268) that Ch 69 pays off. Highlighted in Part 4 as a first-class
weaving, not flagged as duplication.
(Corpus Hermeticum, Threads L440), while the Hermetic SCHOOL anchors at Ch 27. That is an intra-thread weaving
(Egyptian school plants the seed the Hermetic school formalizes), also captured in Part 4.
The four precursor-realm schools are Inner-Order only (T6-T8): they grant no new base verbs, they COMPLETE the
verbs the nine regional schools taught. This is correct and is the mechanical basis of the endgame relay (Part
4.3). The realm names are the CVD v1.4 Frame-A-locked originals (Pohljar, Tiamarath, Maatherion) that superseded
the fringe-loaded legacy names (Hyperborea/Thule, Lemuria/Mu, Agartha) per §19.1 Component 1. Atlantis is
retained per the §17.7 naming hard line. No change proposed.
curriculum — a 17-chapter application-only stretch covering the Atlantic crossing (Ch 33-38) and the early
Americas. This reads as intentional (the "apply what the Old World taught" phase), and CVD L189's open clause
("Additional regional schools emerge per research deliverable") is governed by the 0.E rule that any future
school must subdivide an existing verb family, never mint a 14th. Recommendation: CONFIRM the gap as designed.
If Josh ever wants to seed a mid-arc school, the natural candidate region is the Ch 42 Haiti / Vodou or Ch 50
Amazon material — but that is a canon call for Josh, and this proposal does not add one. `[DECISION NEEDED -
JOSH]` only if the front-loading is a concern.
initiation, Srivijayan and Sri Lankan Buddhist sangha, Tamil Siddha) and lists "Tantric, Pythagorean" as core
initiatory traditions, yet none of the 13 formal schools is anchored in South Asia. The reason is visible in
the 0.E graft: Tamil Siddha is deliberately routed to a TRADE questline (Ch 7), not a school, because its
toxicology economy is resource-based, not vril-based, and would fail the CVD L190 runs-on-vril test. So the
South Asian initiatory traditions are carried as Thread-8 chapter-anchors + trade questlines rather than
formal schools. CONFIRM as principled curation; flagged so the omission is on the record as a choice, not an
oversight.

This is the section the current roster develops least, and where the school system earns its place as Thread 8
(Mystery Schools / Initiation) rather than 13 unrelated unlock-gates. There are three weaving layers: the
cross-school VERB lineages, the cross-THREAD anchors, and the shared initiatory GRAMMAR. All three converge at
the Ch 66-69 threshold relay and resolve at Ch 76-77.
The verbs are not 13 isolated grants; they cluster into six lineages that pass school-to-school and terminate in
the endgame. This is the "metroidvania at arc scale" structure.
Mesopotamian record-discipline (Ch 17) and terminates at Atlantis READ-THE-SUBSTRATE full-mastery (Ch 66),
which retroactively re-opens all nine C11 anomaly-site inscriptions and pays the two oldest planted script-
debts (Meroitic, Ch 14; Harappan, Ch 16). Terminal consumer: the Ch 76-77 Velheim Codex interpretation stack.
first dual-BASE combo, taught through the 22 sefirot paths) and Mesoamerican SYNTHESIZE (Ch 47, first
vril-seat-TRADE combo, taught through the feathered-serpent sky-earth union) are the two schools that open Layer
B. Different diegetic lattices, one mechanical family. Both are mandated answers to the Ch 70-73 environmental-
manipulation requirement.
WAYFIND (Ch 29) into ley-routed navigation, maturing into the Ch 46 astral-infiltration boss approach; Taoist
Temporal Echo (Ch 21) is the read-the-past strand of the same perception family. These feed the substrate-
reading endgame stack.
(first seen at Ch 26 strigoi-containment) into a teachable verb; Sámi (Ch 29) trains the same Restraint step
of the four-part environmental protocol as its entire gate axis. BANISH is the trainer for the canonical
purge-lineage terminal (Ch 58 facility -> Ch 70 atmospheric -> Ch 72 substrate -> Ch 74 Phase 3 individual).
Druidic ATTUNE (Ch 24, megalithic site-channel alignment) and Pohljar CONFIGURE (Ch 67, mathematical vril-
tuning by ratio) are the two "geometry" schools — one aligns to a site's axis, the other tunes vril to exact
harmonics. Together they turn canonical sites into the recharge/perception platforms the vril system needs.
(Ch 23) is the purest expression of the death-rebirth initiatory core; Tiamarath COMMUNE (Ch 68) is its
ecosystem-scale echo (listening into the primordial sea). Both stage the "enter the liminal, return changed"
passage.

Threads L448 states that the T0_School_Registry "populates against" a shared ritual structure — the van Gennep /
Victor Turner arc of separation -> liminal ordeal (symbolic death) -> illumination -> reincorporation at higher
status — and that "each school carries its own realization" of it. That is the mechanism that makes 13 scattered
regional schools ONE thread, and it binds Thread 8 to Thread 6 (Dying-Rising) in Weaving 9. The current registry
rows do not encode this arc per school. Recommendation: add a per-school initiatory_arc_realization annotation
(or fold it into tier_role) so the grammar is explicit. Sketched realizations, grounded in each school's
canon facts:
symbolic descent -> astral illumination -> return, decoding what was sealed.
confession (the death of persuasion) -> True Voice illumination -> the record-bearing return.
(liminal) -> the first combined cast (illumination) -> return with COMBINE.
death: what is destroyed is not gone) -> Temporal Echo illumination -> return, reading the burned texts.

the departure-and-return-anchor discipline itself; the drum-site protocol is the ordeal, WAYFIND the
illumination, the land-state read on return the reincorporation. No protected ceremonial content is staged.
feathered-serpent union -> SYNTHESIZE illumination -> return.
Weighing of the Heart is its arc-scale symbolic death/judgment; the reincorporation is the return to the
mortal world at Ch 70+.
The master weaving is the strict endgame relay: Atlantis READ-THE-SUBSTRATE -> Pohljar CONFIGURE -> Tiamarath
COMMUNE -> Maatherion DECLARE, where each realm's entry examination is the previous realm's exit verb. It
terminates at Maatherion, where the school and the boss are the same object: the 42 materialized arguments are
fought with the verbs the other twelve schools taught (banish, attune, configure, commune, witness, wayfind,
combine, synthesize, decode, descend, redirect, read-the-substrate), and DECLARING the matching Confession is
the finisher. This is canonically the Thread 8 convergence point (Threads L446) and the Thread-8 resolution
("they were one transmission under many rites," Threads L458) that carries into the Ch 76-77 waterfall. Every
verb lineage in 4.1 is load-bearing here — the strongest possible demonstration that the schools are one system.

The enum has four values. I read them as a claim about the tradition's continuity to the present:
living lineage.
movement, honestly discontinuous from the ancient practice).
A governing principle from the Care Doctrine shapes the sensitive calls: §17.1 mandates historical honesty
("not niceness") AND respect for the living faithful. I reconcile these by putting the tradition's present state
in the enum bucket and carrying the honest history of suppression, conquest, or discontinuity in the L2/L3
substrate and a nuance note — never by classifying a living people's tradition as "terminated," which would be
erasure, the exact failure §17.1 names.
hieroglyphic inscription is Philae, 394 CE, and the temple cults closed under Christianization (Philae shut
~mid-6th c. under Justinian). No continuous priestly lineage survives. RECOMMEND terminated. Nuance to carry:
two living offshoots exist and should be noted, not folded into the bucket — the Hermetic current (a living/
revived Western tradition, see 5.3) descends from the Alexandrian Hermetica, and modern Kemetic
reconstructionism (from the 1970s) is a reconstructed_revival of Egyptian religion. The SCHOOL as canon frames
it (the ancient Serapeum/Great-Pyramid temple priesthood) is the terminated one.
datable tablet is an astronomical text ~75 CE); the Entu priesthood and the temple religion ended entirely
with no living successor. RECOMMEND terminated. High confidence.
it. Crucially, the secret (the arrheton) was never written and is genuinely lost — the tradition cannot be
recovered, only studied. RECOMMEND terminated. Nuance: a modern Hellenic-polytheist revival (Hellenismos,
legally recognized in Greece in 2017) attempts reconstruction, but the actual Mysteries content is lost, so
the school is terminated with a revival footnote, not reconstructed_revival.
precursor threshold realms; in-world only fragments (inscriptions, submerged sites, the recovered Sampo-
archive) survive. RECOMMEND fragment_only for the SCHOOL-AS-ENTITY, uniformly. Important precision so the
classification is not misread: fragment_only labels the fictional precursor school, NOT the real-world tradition
layered underneath it at L2. Each carries a real substrate with its OWN real-world status, which should be
noted alongside: Atlantis (the Atlantean-inscription substrate is fictional); Pohljar (Pythagorean cosmology
is historically-terminated; the Kalevala runo-song tradition is documented and partly revived; both are L2
investigative depth); Tiamarath (the Enuma Elish / Babylonian creation tradition is terminated; Zealandia is
real submerged geology per Mortimer 2017); Maatherion (the Egyptian Ma'at tradition is terminated; the
cross-cultural World Tree motif is mixed, with living branches such as Norse Yggdrasil in revived Ásatrú).
This keeps Frame A honest: the real traditions are not being called fictional; the precursor REALM is.
Druidry was an oral priesthood suppressed by Rome (Claudius's ban; the assault on Anglesey/Mona ~60 CE); it
has NO documented continuity to the present. Modern Druidry is an 18th-century-onward Romantic reconstruction
(Iolo Morganwg's Gorsedd, 1792; the Neo-Druid orders), which the scholarly consensus (Ronald Hutton, Blood
and Mistletoe) treats unambiguously as a reinvention. RECOMMEND reconstructed_revival. Grounding that MUST
ride with this school (Frame A / §19.1): the megalithic sites the school attunes — Newgrange (~3200 BCE per
§19.1 Component 11), Stonehenge, Gobekli Tepe — PREDATE the Celtic Druids by three-to-seven thousand years.
The "Druids built Stonehenge / unbroken ancient Druid line" claim is exactly the pseudo-archaeology §17.1 and
§19.1 reframe away from. The school's L2 layer should present megalithic archaeoastronomy as the real material
and modern Druidry as an honest revival, never as ancient continuity.
is FLAGGED. Reasoning for revival: the ancient Hermetic milieu (Corpus Hermeticum, 2nd-3rd c. Alexandria)
faded with late antiquity; the Western Hermetic current canon anchors to is a documented modern
reconstruction-synthesis chain — Ficino's 1471 translation -> Rosicrucianism -> the Hermetic Order of the
Golden Dawn (1888) -> Crowley/Thelema — which the leading academic authority on Western esotericism (Wouter
Hanegraaff) frames as reinvention. CVD explicitly anchors the school to "Crowley lineage primary source" and
the Golden Dawn grade names (CVD L189, L608), i.e., the 19th-20th c. revival, not an unbroken ancient line.
This also pairs Druidic + Hermetic cleanly as the two textbook Western esoteric revivals.
[DECISION NEEDED - JOSH] The defensible alternative is active_living_tradition: the Golden Dawn successor
orders and Crowley's O.T.O./A∴A∴ operate continuously today, so Hermeticism is arguably a living initiatory
tradition, not merely a revival. My recommendation weights the honestly-discontinuous REVIVAL origin (the
Frame-A-truthful read) over the present living state; if you prefer to foreground the continuous-since-1888
living orders, active_living_tradition is fully supportable. Not terminated either way — unlike Eleusinian,
its content and lineage are recoverable and practiced.
These four are the calls the task asks to flag. The recommendation for all four is the living bucket, on the
Care Doctrine principle in 5. Each carries a distinct sensitivity.
mystical tradition — medieval crystallization (Sefer Yetzirah; the Bahir, 12th c.; the Zohar, 13th c.),
Lurianic Kabbalah (16th c. Safed), Hasidism, and contemporary study today. RECOMMEND active_living_tradition,
and represent with the respect §17.1 gives a living faith (the living faithful are never the antagonist; the
combat routes through Velheim intrusion). Scholarship-grounding flag (see 6): Ch 18 is an ancient Levantine
chapter, but the 22-path sefirotic Tree is MEDIEVAL, not ancient — an anachronism to reconcile at the L2
layer via the genuinely ancient proto-Kabbalistic root (Merkabah / Hekhalot ascent mysticism). This is a
grounding note, not a reclassification.
Zhengyi and Quanzhen orders, active temples in China and Taiwan); internal alchemy (neidan) is still
practiced. RECOMMEND active_living_tradition. Internal nuance to note: the granted verb's diegetic hook, the
Shang-dynasty Oracle Bone divination, is itself a terminated ancient practice used as a teaching image — the
SCHOOL (Daoism) is living; the oracle-bone element is a historical divination anchor (Thread 12 / Weaving 8).
active_living_tradition, and this recommendation is close to non-negotiable on Care-Doctrine grounds:
classifying a living Indigenous people's tradition as "terminated" would be precisely the erasure §17.1
forbids. The honest history is that the classical noaidi drum-shamanic PRACTICE was violently suppressed by
Lutheran missionaries (von Westen; the drum confiscations; Anders Poulsen executed 1692) and its continuous
séance lineage was largely broken by the 19th c. — but the Sámi are a living people with a living language,
living joik (hence the hard line), sieidi veneration, and a recognized contemporary revitalization. Per
§17.1's "historical honesty, not niceness," that suppression history is carried truthfully in the L2/L3
substrate and the named institutional-actor pressure — it is NOT expressed by putting the tradition in the
terminated bucket. If Josh wants the record to foreground the suppression-and-revitalization shape, the
honest annotation is "living tradition with documented suppression and contemporary revitalization," but the
enum bucket stays active_living_tradition. [DECISION NEEDED - JOSH] flagged only because of its stakes, not
because I think another bucket is defensible.
active_living_tradition as the Care-compliant default, with the mixed reality flagged. The three real strands:
the formal Aztec/Mexica priesthood (calmecac, tlamacazqui) was destroyed by conquest and the Inquisition
(Bishop Landa's 1562 Maní codex-burning) — terminated; Maya calendrical daykeeping (the ajq'ij of highland
Guatemala, the living 260-day count) is a continuous living tradition today; and modern Mexicayotl / danza
movements are a reconstructed_revival. Because canon frames the school as "initiatory / calendrical" and the
calendrical strand is demonstrably living, and because the elevated-care respect-the-living mandate applies,
the living bucket is the right default. [DECISION NEEDED - JOSH] The alternatives, if you want to pin the
school to a single strand: historically_documented_terminated (if "initiatory" means specifically the Aztec
temple priesthood) or reconstructed_revival (if you mean the Mexicayotl neo-tradition). I recommend against
both — the living Maya continuity makes active_living_tradition the honest and respectful call.

Celtic Druids by millennia and that modern Druidry is an honest revival — never "unbroken ancient line." This
is a §17.1 / §19.1 must-carry, not optional.

Pythagorean tradition is fictional."
