Layer-2 Inter-Chapter Transitions — the Ch 72 to Ch 77 and Epilogue traveled through-line
RE-DERIVED 2026-07-27 against the live v3 spine (the endgame-renumbering sweep, lane 3). This document was authored at the RR-FINAL window against the PRE-v3 finale topology, and two of its worst bullets were spot-repaired earlier the same day; this pass re-derives the WHOLE document — every chapter-number assertion, the war's window, the antagonist arcs, the travel medium, the vril curve, the companion and familiar ledgers, and all six seam descriptions — from docs/spine/CH_72.md through CH_77.md and CH_EPILOGUE.md (their Entry-header, Continuity-anchor, End-state-carry-forward, and Seam-state-diff blocks), the live T0_Chapter_Index and T0_Boss_Encounter_Registry rows, and the amended HL_0035 and HL_0108 rows. The structure is kept; the facts are corrected. What changed at the topology level: the Realm War is no longer three chapters ending at Ch 73 — it is ONE chapter, Ch 75, in three movements; Ch 72, Ch 73, and Ch 74 are the last three Realm-Road otherworlds (Naraka and Meru, Annwn, Yggdrasil), and Ch 74 is the crossing home; the patriarch is named and resolved at Ch 76, with the father encounter folded in as that chapter's second phase; and the waterfall is a single node, Ch 77, whose approach is compressed into its own opening. The pre-v3 to live numbering map is recorded in the header note of docs/spine/range_reviews/RR_FINAL.md.
Story Spine Layer-2 add-on. This realizes docs/TRANSITION_TREATMENT.md Layer 2: the connective bridges between chapters — how the protagonist arrives from the previous chapter and departs toward the next — held separate from the chapter bodies because in the 3D build these are their own arrival and departure sequences, not chapter-body prose. It is authored with the whole finale range in view, since the window's defining movement — the last three otherworlds of the Realm Road giving way to the crossing home, the realm's own war, the double reckoning of the Two Courts, the summit reveal, and the closing bookend — is tunable only at range scale. It continues from docs/spine/transitions/TRANSITIONS_CH62_71.md, with one caution recorded honestly: that document has NOT been re-derived against the v3 spine (it still carries the retired Pohljar, Tiamarath, and Maatherion realm names and the pre-fold Realm-War phases at Ch 71-72), so its seam content is not treated as current here. The live Ch-71 exit used below is taken from the Ch-71 seam state-diff block in docs/spine/CH_71.md itself.
What this document is and is not
It is the between-chapter movement layer. Each entry realizes against the departing chapter's End-state carry-forward block (the departure) and the arriving chapter's Continuity anchor block (the arrival), plus a per-boundary transition note, and stays consistent with the ratified travel geography.
It is not new chapters, not a travelogue, and not a scenery catalogue. Bridges are concise; leanness holds. The chapter bodies already carry the Layer-1 intra-chapter traversal; this layer only threads the seams between them.
Its consumer is the 3D build (each seam maps to a discrete arrival or departure sequence asset) and the spine's own continuity discipline (each seam is a state-consistency checkpoint between two carry-forward blocks). It is indexed in docs/DOC_MAP.md.
Governing constraints (bind every seam)
The window carries ONE medium change and it is the arc's most consequential. The first two seams are Realm-Road crossings between dimensional otherworlds (Naraka and Meru to Annwn, then Annwn to Yggdrasil); the third seam, Ch 74 to Ch 75, is THE CROSSING HOME — down the re-rooted root of the World-Ash and out of myth into the fairy realm she was born to, the only myth-native door into the game's own realm and the completion of the nine-otherworld Realm Road; and the last three seams are within-realm, one continuous movement from the war-front across to the King's own hall and up the rising ground to the summit and out to the bookend. No Earth travel appears anywhere in the window [SRC: T1_World_Geography_Master # 9] [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_74].
The REVEAL arc is the window's spine, and it is staged in three sanctioned steps. Through Ch 72, Ch 73, and Ch 74 the ceiling is HELD AT ITS MOST ABSOLUTE — the Realm Road leaks no family pattern at all (ws.cassius_velheim_state NOT_ENCOUNTERED; no Cassius, no House name in-node, no five-thousand-year pattern, no thesis, no Grand-Sage hint, no agent-noun even invoked and negated), and the Architect's last appearance is already behind her at Ch 69. At Ch 75 the family's reach is present only as the FACELESS CORRUPTING CONDITION behind the war: the House has been player-facing since Ch 38, but no Velheim operative is fought and the patriarch is not named. The first sanctioned step is Ch 76, where Cassius Velheim is NAMED for the first time in the whole game and the House and the five-thousand-year pattern surface player-facing at their patriarch (HL_0035); the thesis and the Grand Sage stay held even there, with no hint in Cassius's mouth or the father's. The second is Ch 77, where the single sanctioned release lands EXACTLY ONCE, carried by the mirror-morph and never captioned, the locked cosmic phrasing neither reproduced nor authored. The third is the Epilogue, which LIVES it forward without re-declaring it. The Elven King is NAME-FORBIDDEN throughout (HL_0099); he has KNOWN the presence's nature for ten thousand years (T3_Core §6.7, HL_0116) and only the spoken personal recognition remains for the summit, landing as the §8.11 gloss at Ch 77 [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0035] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0043].
The ENDING PATH stays LOCKED (Ch 65) at every seam — carried unchanged; every fork in the window READS the locked band rather than moving it, and none of them generates a new divergence lock. The path-differentiation points, in order: FORK_CH72_A (Vritra slain or spared — a branch recorded on ws.nemesis_memory_per_boss, not a path move, forward-tracked to the Ch-75 terminal stand); FORK_CH73_A (the honor kept and Arawn made a friend, bucket-variant texture); FORK_CH74_A (the crossing-home register); FORK_CH75_A through FORK_CH75_D (the terminal stand's decision-web, the childhood best-friend reunion, the coalition muster, and — on the locked EVIL band only — the inverted witness at the threshold); FORK_CH76_A and FORK_CH76_B (the Cassius resolution, and the father-encounter phase-count); FORK_CH77_A (the father's-gloss presence); and the Epilogue's single variance, the journal's COMPLETENESS. The mirror-morph reveal ITSELF is path-invariant and is never a fork [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0010] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0045].
The window is COMBAT-BEARING end to end, and exactly one crossing in it is not. Josh RULED 2026-07-27 (eighth sitting, R-3) that Ch 76 and Ch 77 are both real, playable, combat-bearing end-arc chapters; the ONLY no-combat moment is the Ch-77 waterfall reveal scene, which is the exit into the Epilogue. Every other seam in this window is crossed with the kit live [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0051].
The protagonist's internal age is designer-only and never surfaced; it holds flat at the young-adult plateau (18), age_stage Adulthood, across every seam — no placed jumps [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_72].
Through-line ledgers (the accumulated sense of travel, tracked at range scale)
Internal age (designer-only, never surfaced). Held flat at 18, age_stage Adulthood, across every seam — no placed jumps [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_72].
The human companion arc and the evidence-journal. The healer's child (CHAR_0002) travels as the continuous primary companion and journal-keeper per the ruled D-23 non-gating Continuation and Departure resolution; Ana (CHAR_0017) travels beside her as the melee blade; the accreted found-family carries throughout. The JOURNAL is the window's quiet load-bearer: it is the AMMUNITION of the Ch-76 social phase (the whole journey's documented evidence, answering Cassius's case), it is OFFERED to the father on the generative path in that same chapter, and it is the ARTIFACT of the Epilogue's shared frame. One band diverges and it diverges at Ch 75, not later: on the locked EVIL band FORK_CH75_D INVERTS the healer's-child bond rather than breaking it (ws.ntala_inversion_state STANDING_WITNESS, she keeps the record from outside, or SILENCED, the record-keeper fallen and the partial-cold journal surviving physically, WS_040) — on that band she is not a Ch-76 companion, and the journal's completeness is band-fixed. The shared protagonist-plus-healer's-child journal voice (T3_Core §3.13) is the record that survives the telling [SRC: T0_Character_Index @ CHAR_0002].
The father, the moral north. The Elven King (CHAR_0005, name-forbidden HL_0099) enters the window already perceived rather than met — his grief has crystallized into the land of the whole realm. He is met first as an HONORED DEFENDER in the war at Ch 75, with the intimate reunion deliberately withheld; the encounter itself is Ch 76 Phase 2, the grief-geography consent-boss in the one room the family cannot touch. His arc is PATH-CONDITIONED from Ch 76 on (ws.father_encounter_variant): on the surviving paths (REUNION_TGP and NEGOTIATION_GE) he is met in reconciliation and accompanies her from his court to the waterfall, present at the summit and delivering the §8.11 gloss a beat after the recognition; on the Evil path (COMBAT_EVIL) he FALLS at his own court at Ch 76 and is absent from the summit — the Ch-77 recognition landing without his human-scale hand. Unimpeachable on every path [SRC: T0_Character_Index @ CHAR_0005] [SRC: T3_Core_Characters # 6.7].
Familiar accretion and the twenty-second slot. The rotational roster travels throughout — the F4 Simurgh, the F7 Andean Condor at Mastery, the Nile Crocodile W2, the water familiars (Shell W1, Kasa W5, the Koi W3, the Sanur Octopus W4), the Amazon river-dolphin (Ch 50), the Jaguar (Ch 48), the Bowhead whale (Ch 56), and the raven-pair (Ch 24, resonant at the World-Ash's eagle-and-messenger ecosystem) — with the Phoenix Form (A_F_012) carried and no new bond rooted anywhere in the window. The twenty-second-slot CHILDHOOD FAMILIAR was reunited upstream at Ch 58 and its OUTCOME was refined and fixed at the Ch-65 Familiar's Choice (Truly Good the legendary companion, Good Enough the binding-stone, Evil defeated-and-taken); it CROSSES HOME into the realm at Ch 75, the homecoming's tender beat, and the outcome is not re-litigated in the finale. The carried token is present-varying and never a Truly-Good default: home in the realm and at her side on the surviving bands, absent on Evil [SRC: T3_Familiars_Named # 5] [SRC: T0_Character_Index @ CHAR_0002].
The childhood best friend. The Ch-1 Selection-2 best friend is re-met at the Ch-75 homecoming, left behind in the realm at the fall and grown in the years she was gone — a realm-native ally whose warmth and presence in the war are path-inflected at FORK_CH75_B. The friend STAYS in the realm and is not a travel companion; the role is set and the name is deferred to the naming method and Josh [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_75].
Trade home bases and schools. The trade homes are stable across the window (Trade 7 Culinary Arts at Haiti; Trade 9 Inscription with ancient homes in Egypt and Sámi country, held at Adeptus Exemptus and reading each realm's inscriptions as Layer-2 reference; Trade 4 Herbalism modern in the Amazon; Trade 10 Fishing and Navigation; Trade 3 Blacksmithing modern at Japan; Trade 1 Animal Communication at its ceiling). No new trade home is rooted and no new school debuts anywhere in the window; what the window carries instead is a discipline reaching its ultimate application, the SCH_006 Druidic discipline at Annwn (Ch 73) — the thirteen-school scaffold holds, SCH_001 through SCH_013 carried, the roster's last debut already behind her at Ch 69. The post-Ch-77 Magister Templi Tier-9 Hermetic prestige questline is GATED on Ch-77 completion (HL_0029) and opens at the Epilogue — the endgame mastery loop [SRC: T0_School_Registry @ SCH_006] [SRC: T0_School_Registry @ SCH_013] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0029].
The vril curve and the ring. The window opens on the CLIMB-OUT: the realms-of-the-dead cluster is a descent-to-nadir-and-climb-out U, and at Ch 72's Meru the release-the-waters mechanic and the resuming vril are the SAME event — breaking the Enclosing Dragon's coils liberates the pent waters and the road's rising vril resumes as they flow. It keeps rising through Annwn's living warmth (Ch 73) and reaches its Realm-Road HIGHEST at the World-Ash (Ch 74) — but the full ceiling is not restored on the road, because the tree is the door and not the country. The FULL VRIL CEILING RETURNS at Ch 75, the moment she is home in the vril-dense realm, for the first time since the fall, and it is sustained through Ch 76 and Ch 77. The window then closes the game's central RING: the waterfall is a canonical vril recharge-source of the same class the game opened with, and the FIRST vril gesture returns at CH77_B03, inside the Ch-77 ascent and before the reveal — the ring shut in the body, earned by the ascent rather than decorating it [SRC: T1_Vril_and_Magic_System_Master # 11] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0112].
Identity concealment. The enum ws.identity_hiding_status reads CONCEALMENT_WITH_HOSTILE_RECOGNITION in the world and is carried INERT across the whole window: the Realm Road offers no society to conceal from, and being home and recognized as kin among her own is felt texture rather than an enum transition — no world-facing transition is staged at any seam in this window. Her elven origin was RECOGNIZED upstream at Ch 66. What actually lifts across the window is the reveal, not the concealment state: the House and its patriarch fully surface at Ch 76 and the last recognition is received at the reflective edge at Ch 77, so nothing is left hidden by the Epilogue [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_72] [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_77].
The antagonist arcs closing. Ch 72, Ch 73, and Ch 74 carry NO family presence and leak NO family pattern — the Realm Road is clean, and the Architect's last appearance is already behind her at Ch 69, the Duat. Ch 75 carries the family's reach as the FACELESS CORRUPTING CONDITION behind the war: no operative fought, the patriarch unnamed, the corruption a condition made weather rather than a marched host. Ch 76 is the family arc's operational close — Cassius Velheim named, confronted, and resolved per the locked band in Phase 1, with the Architect present only as ABSENCE, the empty chair, and Phase 2 antagonist-free because the family cannot reach the father's court. Ch 77 is the one node of the three with no House of Velheim presence of any kind: no family presence reaches the summit. The Waterfall and the Epilogue are antagonist-free [SRC: T4_House_of_Velheim_Canonical # 10.5] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0108].
The route at a glance
Naraka and Meru, the Vedic vertical cosmos climbed out of the realms of the dead and the Enclosing Dragon un-enclosed (72) → [the Realm Road, turning warm] Annwn, the Welsh Otherworld of plenty and the one blow at the ford (73) → [the Realm Road's last door] Yggdrasil, the World-Ash kept whole and the gnawed root re-rooted (74) → [down the re-rooted root, the crossing home — the window's one medium change] the Realm at War, the fairy homecoming and the peopled war in three movements (75) → [across the last of the front to the King's own hall] the Two Courts, Cassius Velheim named and resolved and the father reached past him (76) → [up the rising ground from the court, the ascent authored inside this chapter's own opening] the Waterfall, the Last Ascent and the Revelation (77) → [the closing frame] the Epilogue, The Unseen Reader.
Seam entries
Ch 72 to Ch 73 — Naraka and Meru to Annwn (the Realm Road, the seventh otherworld to the eighth)
Departure. She leaves the Vedic vertical cosmos ASCENDED — the loka-ladder climbed up out of the realms-of-the-dead cluster, the Enclosing Dragon's enclosure broken and the seven rivers loosed, the never-dying set down full and refused. The Vritra outcome is the player's (FORK_CH72_A: the death-blow struck, or the last hold broken and the coil left to retreat un-slain into the deep), and the seam is branch-neutral because the waters release either way; the spare branch alone forward-tracks a felt recurrence to the Ch-75 terminal stand [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_72].
Passage. Along the Realm Road between otherworlds — the seventh of nine crossed, two doors left; the climb-out behind her, the road's rising vril resumed and the register turning from moral ascent toward hospitality [SRC: T1_World_Geography_Master # 9].
Arrival. Into Annwn — a coexistent Otherworld of plenty rather than a hell-below: Arawn's timeless court and the feast, the cauldron of abundance, the glass-fort caers, and the coursing Cwn Annwn as the realm's other and perilous face; the first hospitality the road has offered in a long while [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_73].
Transition sequence. An ungated seam: the ladder gives out onto level ground, the vertical world flattens into meadow and hall, and a door she does not have to break opens because someone courteous opens it.
Continuity. Age flat 18, age_stage Adulthood; path_bucket LOCKED and carried, Ch 72 generating no new divergence lock; the healer's child (CHAR_0002), Ana (CHAR_0017), and the found-family unchanged, the roster carried and no new bond; the Vritra branch carried as background world-state and not read again until the Ch-75 terminal stand; concealment carried inert; the reveal HELD at its most absolute, no family pattern of any kind on the road [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_73].
Ch 73 to Ch 74 — Annwn to Yggdrasil (the Realm Road, the eighth otherworld to the ninth and last)
Departure. She leaves the Welsh Otherworld walked and honored — the year-and-a-day trust kept, the ford-duel won by the one committed blow and the refusal of the resurrecting second, Hafgan dead of the one wound and the two kingdoms united, Arawn a firm friend (ws.relationship_history carrying the bucket-variant Arawn mark forward, its read node the Ch-75 coalition return); the fair-folk register walked, so the crossing ahead will read myth-native rather than arbitrary [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_73].
Passage. The Realm Road's last stretch, climbing — the road's vril rising toward the highest point it reaches anywhere on the whole road, the mark from Annwn carried through unread [SRC: T1_World_Geography_Master # 9].
Arrival. Into the Nine Worlds hung on the World-Ash — a tree-cosmos of trunk and root and crown with its three roots at their three wells, kept alive only by active tending and in agony: a hart biting above, the side rotting, and the corpse-render gnawing below at exactly the root the crossing home depends on [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_74].
Transition sequence. A last-door seam: the generous country closes behind her and the ground gives way to something vertical and wounded, and the door she has been walking nine realms toward turns out to be a tree with something eating its root.
Continuity. Age 18, Adulthood; path_bucket LOCKED and carried; the healer's child, Ana, and the found-family at the last door with her, the roster carried and the raven-pair resonant at the tree's ecosystem; ONE otherworld left; concealment carried inert; the reveal HELD at its most absolute, ws.cassius_velheim_state NOT_ENCOUNTERED [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_74].
Ch 74 to Ch 75 — the World-Tree to the fairy realm (THE CROSSING HOME, the window's one medium change)
Departure. She leaves the Realm Road COMPLETE — all nine otherworlds crossed (Ch 66-74). The World-Ash was tended under fire and kept whole, Níðhöggr broken off the root and driven back and never slain, Ragnarök held off as a looming register and never triggered, and the crossing itself RE-ROOTED and OPENED; the Thread-5 capstone landed as structural recognition, the whole road revealed as worlds on one tree, felt and never declared; the road's vril at its highest and the full ceiling still ahead of her [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_74].
Passage. THE crossing — the one medium change in the window: down the root she re-rooted herself and out of myth into her own country, off the Realm Road and into the origin realm. No Earth travel appears anywhere in this window; this is the only place the ground under the seam changes kind [SRC: T1_World_Geography_Master # 9].
Arrival. Into the fairy realm at last, and into a war. The King's decades of grief have crystallized into the land as dense still formations, the wound made visible, and over and through it the realm's own dark mythology has risen and been turned by a corruption from without; the full vril ceiling comes back the moment she is home, whole for the first time since the fall, and the homecoming and the front arrive in the same breath [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_75].
Transition sequence. A crossing seam that is also an arrival home: the tree lets her through and the country on the other side is the one she was born to, and it is burning — the door she spent nine realms opening opens onto her own war.
Continuity. Age 18, Adulthood; path_bucket LOCKED; the healer's child with the journal, Ana, and the found-family crossing with her; the twenty-second-slot childhood familiar (reunited Ch 58, outcome fixed at the Ch-65 Familiar's Choice) crossing home into the realm; the full vril ceiling recovered at this arrival; the House player-facing since Ch 38 but the patriarch UNNAMED and the thesis and Grand Sage held; concealment carried inert, the kinship at home felt texture and not an enum transition [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_75].
Ch 75 to Ch 76 — the war-front to the King's own hall (within-realm)
Departure. She leaves the realm's war WON — the peopled front held with the crossed friend-king, the coalition returned at her call, and the war-host of her own accreted familiars mustered beside her; the realm's risen dark driven back toward its sleep; the terminal Last Coil answered at its terminus, its difficulty branch-balanced on the Ch-72 kill-or-spare so neither choice is easy-mode; the eschaton-advance broken and the world-end deferred; the anchor-sites re-attuned and the colossus of her own unfinished work finished. The King was met in the war as an honored defender and the intimate reunion is still ahead; the family's faceless reach is still there, behind the last hall [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_75].
Passage. Within-realm — across the last of the front and up through the grief-country to the King's own hall at its heart, the ground open and the fighting behind her [SRC: T1_World_Geography_Master # 9].
Arrival. Into the Two Courts. The King's own hall, his decades of grief holding the bright vril in dense still shapes like water frozen mid-fall — and a man already seated in it as a guest is seated, speaking to her father in a low even voice. The reach she has felt her whole life takes a body and a chair, and then gives its own name, courteously, almost kindly, and no one before this room has heard him say it [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_76].
Transition sequence. A no-border seam where the register does all the work: the war goes quiet behind her and the reckoning turns out to be a room — not a gate to break but a conversation already in progress that she was not invited to.
Continuity. Age 18, Adulthood; path_bucket LOCKED and carried; the healer's child with the journal that will be the ammunition of the social phase, Ana, and the found-family — with the one band exception written at Ch 75: on the locked EVIL band FORK_CH75_D has already inverted the healer's-child bond (STANDING_WITNESS or SILENCED, WS_040) and she is not a Ch-76 companion there; the childhood-familiar token present-varying (home in the realm on the surviving bands, absent on Evil); the childhood best friend staying in the realm and not travelling on; the full vril ceiling carried; the House player-facing and the patriarch UNNAMED at entry, this node naming him [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_76].
Ch 76 to Ch 77 — the court to the waterfall (within-realm, ascending)
Departure. She leaves the family ANSWERED and the father REACHED. Cassius is named and resolved per the locked band (the single negative-vril purge that is separation and not redemption, or the retreat, or the becoming), the Architect's absence registering as the empty chair, and the family arc's operational close met; past him, the father encounter is met per FORK_CH76_B — the held reunion with the childhood-familiar return and the journal offered, or the demonstration-negotiation, or, on the Evil path, the hardest fight in the arc, after which the King has fallen at his own court. The at-one-ment is reached and the armour laid down; the King's vast silence is felt, and the father-silence bookend has BEGUN [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_76].
Passage. Within-realm and ascending — the rising ground open from the court toward the waterfall she has seen in visions across the whole arc. The climb itself is authored inside the arriving chapter rather than in this seam: Ch 77's opening IS the last ascent, so this boundary is the hand-off into that ascent and not a substitute for it [SRC: T1_World_Geography_Master # 9].
Arrival. Into the Waterfall's first movement, and into the arc's last authored combat: the soured switchbacks above the father's hall where the war's spent negative vril never drained; the remnant of the host that went up instead of west, still carrying a turning it cannot put down, whose win condition is REST and whose honored dead are never a target; the fouled source under a held channel. The first vril gesture returns at the recharge and the ring closes in the body; the five parallels rhyme; and the un-stepped edge is reached with the breath drawn and not yet let go [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_77] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0051].
Transition sequence. An ascending seam: the court's frozen grief releases behind her, or on the Evil path is left as a grave, and the ground keeps rising toward a sound she has known her whole life, until the recognition arrives ahead of the thought — I have seen this.
Continuity. Age 18, Adulthood; ws.cassius_velheim_state resolved per FORK_CH76_A; ws.father_encounter_variant written per FORK_CH76_B and read by the Ch-77 gloss; the father accompanying her from his court on the surviving paths and absent on Evil; the healer's child (per band), Ana, the found-family, and the childhood familiar carried; the full vril ceiling the operational baseline of the ascent; the thesis and the Grand Sage STILL HELD, the ceiling absolute through Ch 76 and the single release one movement away; the ascent's combat never gating the summit, which is earned by arrival [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_77].
Ch 77 to the Epilogue — the summit to the closing frame (the departing seam)
Departure. She leaves the summit reached and the circle closed. The ascent layer is resolved before the reveal block opens — the fall cleared and the ring shut — and then the presence steps into the reflective water, the still surface gives back her own face, the shape morphs to her own gender presentation and is gone, and the recognition assembles itself WORDLESSLY, uncaptioned, at a dwell the player paces. The father's §8.11 gloss lands a beat later on the paths where the King survived the Two Courts, and is absent on Evil. Nothing is left hidden [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_77].
Passage. The one no-combat crossing of the whole window — the waterfall reveal scene IS the exit beat, and the seam it crosses carries no encounter on any path. Within-realm to the closing frame, the ring closing back toward the Prologue [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0051].
Arrival. Into the closing bookend — The Unseen Reader, the shared path-invariant frame: the journal open on a table, an unseen reader turning the pages, fade to black, the thesis lived forward and never re-declared. And past the frame, the persistent world the crossing unlocks: the post-reveal realm to roam, the twelve side-questlines, the Magister Templi Tier-9 Hermetic prestige loop gated on Ch-77 completion (HL_0029), and the MMO next-expansion bridge hanging off that same open world [SRC: T3_Core_Characters # 3.14] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0029].
Transition sequence. A departing seam that closes the mainline: the reflective pool dissolves into still light and an open book — the journal begun a whole life ago lying open, its pages turning unhurried under a reader who means to read them all.
Continuity. Age 18, Adulthood into the Epilogue; the reveal LIFTED and lived forward without re-declaration; the shared protagonist-plus-healer's-child journal the artifact of the frame, complete on the surviving paths and partial on Evil, where it survives in the inverted custody written at Ch 75 (WS_040); the found-family carried and the twenty-second-slot outcome resolved upstream and not re-litigated; the antagonist absent; the summit and the close beyond the family [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_EPILOGUE].
Consistency checkpoints (each seam is a state check between two carry-forward blocks)
Age flat 18 at every seam; age_stage Adulthood throughout — verified against each chapter's Continuity anchor and End-state blocks.
The medium of travel: two Realm-Road otherworld crossings (Ch 72 to 73, Ch 73 to 74), then THE CROSSING HOME through the re-rooted World-Ash root (Ch 74 to 75) — the window's one medium change — then three within-realm seams (Ch 75 to 76, Ch 76 to 77, Ch 77 to the Epilogue). No Earth travel appears anywhere in the window.
The ending path reads LOCKED (Ch 65) carried at every seam — the single load-bearing state fact; every fork in the window reads the locked band and none moves it, and the mirror-morph reveal itself is path-invariant.
Reveal: HELD at its most absolute across Ch 72-74 (no family pattern on the Realm Road, ws.cassius_velheim_state NOT_ENCOUNTERED); the family present at Ch 75 only as the faceless corrupting condition with the patriarch unnamed; Cassius Velheim NAMED for the first time in the game at Ch 76 (HL_0035) with the thesis and the Grand Sage still held; the single sanctioned release at Ch 77, exactly once and carried by the image; the Epilogue lives it forward and never re-declares it. The Elven King is name-forbidden throughout (HL_0099); he knew the presence's nature for ten thousand years (§6.7) and only the "I was consulting myself" articulation lands at Ch 77 (§8.11).
The father: perceived through the grief-country before the window reaches him, met as an honored defender in the war at Ch 75, and encountered intimately at Ch 76 Phase 2 — path-conditioned from Ch 76, surviving on Truly Good and Good Enough (accompanying to the summit and delivering the §8.11 gloss at Ch 77) and fallen at his own court on Evil (absent from the summit). Unimpeachable on every path.
The antagonist: absent from Ch 72-74 entirely; a faceless condition at Ch 75; named, confronted, and resolved at Ch 76 with the Architect present only as the empty chair and the Architect's last appearance already at Ch 69; wholly absent from Ch 77 and the Epilogue — the summit and the close are antagonist-free.
The vril: the Ch-72 climb-out (the released waters and the resuming road the same event), Annwn's living warmth, the Realm-Road highest at the World-Ash, the FULL CEILING returning at the Ch-75 homecoming and sustained through Ch 76 and Ch 77. The game's central RING closes at CH77_B03, inside the ascent and before the reveal — the first vril mechanic returned at the recharge-source, the ring shut in the body.
Combat: every seam in the window is crossed with the kit live, and exactly one crossing is combat-free by ruling — the Ch-77 waterfall reveal scene, the exit into the Epilogue.
The Epilogue's closing image rhymes forward to the Prologue (built next, read first).
