Layer-2 Inter-Chapter Transitions — the Ch 22 to Ch 31 traveled through-line
Story Spine Layer-2 add-on, authored at the RR-32 window as the whole-range arrival and departure pass over the Ch 22 to Ch 31 span. This realizes docs/TRANSITION_TREATMENT.md Layer 2: the connective bridges between chapters — how the protagonist arrives from the previous chapter and departs toward the next — held separate from the chapter bodies because in the 3D build these are their own arrival and departure sequences, not chapter-body prose. It is authored with the whole range in view, since the accumulated sense of travel, the geographic logic of the European loop, and the emotional carry-over are tunable only at range scale. It continues directly from docs/spine/transitions/TRANSITIONS_CH02_21.md (whose final seam is the Ch 21 to Ch 22 steppe hand-off).
What this document is and is not
It is the between-chapter movement layer. Each entry realizes against the departing chapter's End-state carry-forward block (the departure) and the arriving chapter's Continuity anchor block (the arrival), plus a per-boundary transition note, and stays consistent with the ratified travel geography.
It is not new chapters, not a travelogue, and not a scenery catalogue. Bridges are concise; leanness holds. The chapter bodies already carry the Layer-1 intra-chapter traversal; this layer only threads the seams between them.
Its consumer is the 3D build (each seam maps to a discrete arrival or departure sequence asset) and the spine's own continuity discipline (each seam is a state-consistency checkpoint between two carry-forward blocks). It is indexed in docs/DOC_MAP.md.
Governing constraints (bind every seam)
Travel geography is ground-and-water only across this entire span. The whole Ch 22 to Ch 31 range sits inside the Act 1-2 European loop: walking, riding, river and coastal sailing. No Vimana flight appears anywhere in this range — the numbered coordinate hunt begins at Ch 41 and controlled flight arrives only at Ch 55 [SRC: T1_World_Geography_Master # Travel Methods by Arc].
There are no dimensional passages in this range; every seam is ordinary mortal-world travel across composite-era time-fluctuation windows [SRC: T1_World_Geography_Master # Travel Methods by Arc].
Reveal discipline binds every seam. No House-of-Velheim name, family, or organized pattern surfaces to the player anywhere in this range. Ch 28 is the reveal-edge and the window ceiling: the unease escalates to certainty of an organized power watching her (the first knowing vessel and the readable Augustus-ledger), but the name, the assembled pattern, and the awareness-taxonomy stay dark. The felt recurrence of a kind of erasure is carried as unease, never assembled into a single hand; the endgame reveal-figure and the mythological-realm names stay dark [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_28].
The protagonist's internal age is designer-only and never surfaced. It holds at the young-adolescent stage across the whole window (age_stage Adolescence throughout); the D-06 model's placed jumps fall on other composite-era chapters of the climb toward the Ch 38 young-adult stabilization, not on this window's seams [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_22].
Through-line ledgers (the accumulated sense of travel, tracked at range scale)

The Sealed Letter and the evidence-journal. The sealed fairy-realm-script letter is carried as an uncracked cross-world mystery through the whole window toward its Ch 66 close. The healer's-child journal is the accreting counter-archive: it takes in the Augustus-ledger pages at Ch 28, the Sámi confiscation-and-trial record at Ch 29, the returned Domesday common-access law at Ch 30, and the saved Córdoba library pages and recovered sea-charts at Ch 31 — the record that answers the window's recurring crime of hoarding or burning the record [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_28].

Ch 22 to Ch 23 — the steppe grass-sea to Greece (west along the corridor, then to the Aegean)
