THE SAME-REGION PERMISSION COMPARISON, TAKEN FROM THE LIVE CELLS. combat_permission is EMPTY here

while CR_0133 Siamese crocodile reads PERMITTED and CR_0140 long-tailed macaque reads PERMITTED. The

"PROTECTED" reading of CR_0140 that circulated in the earlier sheets is STALE notes prose; the live

cell is PERMITTED and its cultural_care_register rules the reading. That is settled on the landed

CR_0140 sheet and is cited rather than re-derived here [CR_0140_long_tailed_macaque.md:32-35].

2. base_species

• DERIVED FROM THE ANATOMY REFERENCE TABLE, not declared inline:

build/3d/schema/anatomy_reference/QUADRUPED.json § sub_plans.ungulate_unguligrade, whose

reference_taxon is *Equus caballus* and *Bos taurus* and whose exemplar line reads "generic

bovid/equid". The doctrine's inline-declaration licence expired 2026-08-12 and a covered row now

derives from the bucket and cites the path (doctrine § 2.1, amended).

• posture grade: erect / parasagittal — the limbs are carried UNDER the body and swung in the sagittal

plane, and everything else about the plan follows from that [QUADRUPED.json § posture_grade]

• segments: 4 limbs; 2 weight-bearing digits per foot plus 2 dew claws; 25 presacral vertebrae;

that parents the humerus straight to the spine loses the whole first third of the stride [DYCE2010,

SISSON1975]; glenohumeral flexion/extension 57 to 165 degrees, abduction/adduction ±20, axial

rotation ±15 [JAEGER2002, MILLERS2013]; elbow flexion/extension 36 to 165 with pronation/supination

locked at [0, 0] by radioulnar fusion [SISSON1975]; carpus flexion/extension 90 to 180 with a HARD

• gait: the transverse gallop, plus the canter — a three-beat asymmetrical gait with a defined lead

[§ gait]

• rig conformance: minimum 34 deform bones; spine chain 5 to 24; two forelimb and two hindlimb chains

of at least 4 bones each; bilateral symmetry required [QUADRUPED.json § rig_conformance]

• WHERE THE TABLE IS SILENT, SAID AFFIRMATIVELY — these values stay inline and labeled

AUTHORIAL_ANATOMY. The table publishes no cervical ROM and no cervical/thoracic/lumbar split of the

25 presacral vertebrae, so the short-range neck this whole design rests on is inline: the head turns

with the shoulders, which is the physical fact under the broadside stand and the reason it reads.

The table covers bone and joint only, so the ELONGATED THORACIC NEURAL SPINES that build this

animal's dorsal ridge, the raised bony forehead boss, the horn (bone core in a keratin sheath,

growing through life, never shed) and the coat are inline. The table's own standing caveat carries:

goniometry measures the PASSIVE envelope, and what a live animal reaches under its own power is

smaller by an amount the sources do not separate [QUADRUPED.json § unmeasured].

• mass, stance, gait read: 1000 to 1500 kg standing up to 2.2 m at the ridge — the tallest wild bovine

on earth, its mass carried FORWARD in shoulder and neck, which is why the ridge exists at all; a

heavy walk, a short-stride trot, and a gallop it does not want to start

• resting silhouette: a black wedge, highest at the shoulder and falling away behind, standing on four

pale legs that read as separate objects against it

3. lore_source

• NO LIVING-TRADITION CLAIM ATTACHES TO THIS ROW, AFFIRMATIVELY DECLARED. folklore_behavior_substrate

and folklore_attribution_source are both empty, cultural_care_register is empty, and

cultural_significance carries an ecological description and nothing else. There is no tradition to

cite because the row asserts none.

• POSITIVE CONTROL FOR THE CITATION TEST, and it is the wave's own: SRC_00322 is the only SRC_ id

anywhere in angkor_khmer.md, and the live worked control for how a fauna-row tradition claim is

handled when no SRC_ reaches it is carried on CR_0148, whose cultural_significance asserts a

human cooperative-fishing practice with no citation on the page [CR_0148_smooth_coated_otter.md:64-70,

:202-205]. The ruler matches; it simply does not reach this row, because this row claims nothing.

• The row's own cell: the great wild cattle of the deciduous dipterocarp forest [`T0_Creature_Roster @

CR_0143 :: cultural_significance`].

• The country: the Angkor plain is monsoon-forest-and-paddy with the Tonle Sap flood-forest ringing

the lake; foliage runs dense in the flood-forest and thins on the open baray and the paddy grid

[angkor_khmer.md:154-156; :169-171].

• PROVENANCE, DIRECTIONAL, AND ALREADY BOARDED COHORT-WIDE. The row's source_ref cites angkor_khmer

§ 3, and § 3 names no gaur. The relation is DIRECTIONAL and the page states it: "the page CONSUMES

the T0_Creature_Roster rows the spine already staged and FEEDS region-ambient detail"

[angkor_khmer.md:175-176] — the roster is upstream, so the row does not depend on the section for

its existence. The same dangle runs the whole CR_0133-CR_0150 cohort and CR_0140's notes cell

already boards it as wanting a director ruling rather than a per-row patch

[CR_0140_long_tailed_macaque.md:72-74]. This sheet cites the row and the standing board. A second

leg of the same gap: CH_05.md:265 creatures_and_fauna enumerates the excursion's asset anchors and

names no wild bovid either, so the row is missing from BOTH its page section and its spine anchor.

4. elevation

• register: REAL_FAUNA (TRUE_TO_LIFE) — doctrine § 3D. Elevation is refused because the row's folklore

columns are empty, it stages no supernatural claim, and the chapter's care architecture depends on

the mundane world reading as real: this is the chapter where the naga is the only

mythologically-stylized presence [CH_05.md:267], and a supernatural ox would be the Komodo defect

wearing a different coat.

• THE REPLICA TEST DISCHARGES BY CONTRACT PLUS LADDER, per § 3D, and both are stated below.

THE LEGIBILITY CONTRACT — stated identically on all three bovid sheets. THREE WILD BOVIDS SHARE THIS

CHAPTER, so silhouette-first discrimination is the first design obligation. THE FINDERS: the GAUR is

found by its BROKEN TOPLINE, a ridge peaking over the shoulder and dropping to the ordinary back

inside a hand's width — the only topline in the chapter with a step in it; the BANTENG is found by the

WHITE RUMP DISC at the HERD grain, which inverts the animal's read front-to-back and makes herd facing

legible; the KOUPREY is found by LEG AND HANG — the tallest-legged and lightest-bodied of the three,

daylight under the belly, a dewlap falling toward the ground, and horn tips that end frayed rather

than pointed. THE AMBIGUITY CASE, named rather than assumed away: a mature blue-black banteng bull

carries white socks too, so at colour-only range he and a gaur resolve to the same read. THE RESOLVER

is stocking EXTENT measured against leg height — the banteng's white runs high and clean to knee and

hock, the gaur's is a shorter boot on a much longer leg — with the rump-disc check (banteng) or the

ridge-step check (gaur) confirming whenever the rear or the topline is in frame. STOCKINGS CONFIRM;

THEY NEVER FIND.

THE STATE LADDER — A5 age and state, spent as the bull-and-herd read. An old bull is nearly black,

hairless across shoulders and ridge from rubbing, and carries grooved blunt-tipped horn sheaths; cows

and young are browner, hairier and shorter in the ridge. Herd structure is therefore legible with no

UI element at all: the darkest, tallest, baldest animal is the one that will stand, and every other

animal in the group is watching it. That is the state a species-typical photograph does not carry.

PRIMARY — A9 THE MARK, spent as SILHOUETTE LAW. Three features, ranked, and only the first FINDS:

• THE RIDGE AND ITS DROP, the finder. The topline rises from the head to a peak over the shoulder and

then ENDS, falling to the ordinary back in a hand's width. MECHANISM: elongated thoracic neural

spines anchoring the nuchal ligament and the neck musculature that lets a tonne-and-a-half animal

carry and lift its own head — real architecture, visible from outside, with a stated reason.

• THE STOCKINGS, a CONFIRM and never the finder. Pale tan-to-white below knee and hock against a

coffee-black body: at range the body sinks into forest shadow and four pale posts remain, which

narrows the search — but the banteng bull carries socks too, so the posts are checked against the

ridge-step and against stocking extent before the species is called.

• THE PALE DOME, a close-range confirm. The bony forehead boss reads grey against black and it is the

surface the horn-toss rotates around, so it is what the eye tracks in the one shape that matters.

ONE-LINE READ: a black wedge with a step in its back, standing on four pale legs.

THE JOB, and it is why the row is worth a sheet. THE GAUR IS A DOOR. It does not flee and it does not

chase; it STANDS, and where it stands is a line the player wanted to walk. In dry forest between the

flood-forest margin and the open grid the good lines are few, and a standing bull closes one for as

long as he wants it closed. This animal is a TRAVERSAL COST rather than an encounter, and it is the

chapter's only ambient body that reshapes a route without a fight.

EMISSION: none. It reads by occlusion, by the pale legs and dome catching what light is in the scene,

and by wetting-darkening after a wallow.

5. articulation_delta

• Nothing is added to the skeleton derived in § 2.
• The ridge is skeletal, not a fat pad, and it does not deform. The rig carries it as a rigid section

of the spine chain — inside the table's 5-to-24-bone spine allowance — with the deformation budget

spent on the shoulder and neck around it, because a ridge that bends turns the animal's one finder

into a texture.

• The horn sheath is a separate surface over the bone core with a grooving-and-blunting parameter

driven by age, and the pale forehead boss is a hard surface boundary rather than a gradient. Both

are the reads that survive to distance and both are cheap.

6. fight_grammar

combat_facing is FALSE, combat_permission is EMPTY, and DANGEROUS is a taming-trade grade rather

than a fight flag. This block states affirmatively what the row stages: STANDING GROUND, and what it

costs to cross it.

PART ECONOMY HOME: NONE, declared affirmatively — this body carries no breakable region. The currency

of the encounter is GROUND.

THE STEP-IN'S SILHOUETTE-SCALE TELEGRAPH, NAMED: THE POST THAT LEAVES. In the planted hold the animal

reads as four pale posts under a black wedge. On the step-in ONE POST LEAVES THE FOUR-POST READ, and

because the mass transfers forward off the stance the rigid ridge-step TRANSLATES across the frame

instead of sitting still. Three posts and a moving step is the whole tell, it survives black fill at

combat-camera distance, and it costs no colour.

THE ESCALATION, ON THE FOUR CHANNELS. POSTURE: grazing head-down, to broadside, to the planted hold

with the head level — and because the ridge is rigid each is a different SILHOUETTE, not just a

different pose. BREATH: the flank visibly pumping and the nostrils flared wide. VOCALIZATION: a

snorted blow through the nose, once, the only sound in the set and therefore unmissable. NEW OPENER:

the step-in with its post-that-leaves telegraph, which never appears in any state but the last.

THE OPENER AND ITS VARIANTS: the root is the broadside stand. The hold is the same posture with the

turn subtracted, which is what makes it worse; the horn toss is the same body with the head taken

through its full arc; the step-in is the hold with one foot moved and the mass sent after it.

Teaching order is turn, plant, toss, step — four beats, each shorter than the last.

RELOCATION AND TURF, AN INFERENCE AND LABELED AS ONE: canon publishes a foliage-DENSITY gradient

(dense flood-forest, thinning on the open baray and the paddy grid) as a build note for scatter

[angkor_khmer.md:169-171]. Reading that gradient as this animal's turf — it owns the closed dry forest

and the good lines through it and will not follow onto the open grid — is this sheet's inference from

the density figures, not a canon statement about the gaur. It does not relocate for the player; the

player relocates.

7. care_read

• COLLECTIVE READ: ORDINARY_FAUNA carries no collective claim and the doctrine forbids re-applying

collective protection to game animals. The § 17.1 protection live in this chapter is about

communities and is untouched here [CH_05.md:246]. Nothing in this sheet puts a person in a target

position.

• ONTOLOGY ROUTING: ORDINARY_FAUNA. Care routes staging, never scope (RULING_10). The row leaves

cultural_care_register empty and this sheet does not invent one.

• ROUTE: ordinary asset path with a concept plate as conditioning, because the ridge-step finder is a

silhouette contract a photographic-wildlife prompt will average away.

• EXTINCTION WEIGHT IS REAL AND NOT HIDDEN, AND THE WINDOW IS KEPT. The row reads T4, vulnerable. At

1200 the animal is present and the forest holds it; the forward reading is a design-layer site-cued

time-fluctuation window showing the same closed line through the dry forest with nothing standing on

it — an easier walk, which is the point. THE LICENCE IS NOT CLEAN AND THE SHEET SAYS SO: § 18's

forward-strata enumeration lists the megadrought decline, the elite drift, 1431 Ayutthaya, and the

Cham strata, and admits no modern-FAUNA stratum [angkor_khmer.md:1114-1122]. The window is kept and

the enumeration gap is boarded as a region-page debt in § 9 rather than claimed as licence.

• ANTI-TIMID PASS, RECORDED. The reduction considered was making the gaur flee like the other

herbivores so no ambient animal ever costs the player anything. REFUSED: an animal that always

yields is scenery, the doctrine's agency test fails on exactly that, and a wild bovine that outweighs

a car does not run from a child. A second reduction was considered and refused — cutting the step-in

so the encounter can never actually hurt. It can.

• INVENTION DECLARATION: the four tells, the post-that-leaves telegraph, the four-channel escalation,

the door-and-traversal-cost job, the bull-and-herd state ladder and the time-window empty-line read

are INVENTED BY THIS SHEET as the game's own. The skeleton, joint roster, ROM, gait and rig

conformance are DERIVED from QUADRUPED.json and cited there. The dorsal ridge and its abrupt end,

the stockings, the forehead boss, the horn form and the proportions are inline AUTHORIAL_ANATOMY on

the table's declared silences. The deciduous-dipterocarp habitat and the T4 status are CITED to the

row; the country and the foliage gradient are CITED to the page.

• REVEAL READ: clean.

8. plate_brief

• PLATE A, identity: a full-grown bull broadside in dry dipterocarp forest at flat midday light, the

ridge and its abrupt drop at the top of the read, four pale stockings, pale forehead dome.

• PLATE B, the door: the same bull standing across a narrow open line between two stands of timber,

the player-side view, the line visibly the only good one in frame.

• PLATE C, the herd: cows and young in browner coat and shorter ridge grouped behind the dark bull,

every head turned the same way.

• PLATE D, the old bull: shoulder and ridge rubbed bare, horn sheaths grooved and blunt, near-black.
• PLATE E, silhouette: black fill at combat-camera distance — the broadside stand, the planted hold,

the horn toss, and the step-in at its post-that-leaves frame, judged in black fill alone.

9. boarded_debts

• REGION-PAGE DEBT, F2: angkor_khmer.md § 18's forward-strata enumeration [:1114-1122] admits a

megadrought stratum, an elite-drift stratum, 1431, and the Cham strata, but no modern-FAUNA stratum.

The extinction time-window this sheet designs therefore has no enumerated home on the page. The

enumeration wants extending by the region lane; this sheet keeps the window and boards the gap.

• source_ref cites angkor_khmer § 3, which names no gaur, and CH_05.md:265's creatures_and_fauna

anchor names no wild bovid either. Both legs of the cohort-wide CR_0133-CR_0150 dangle already

boarded on CR_0140's notes cell as wanting a director ruling rather than a per-row patch.

• combat_permission is EMPTY while CR_0133 reads PERMITTED and CR_0140 reads PERMITTED — two

populated cells and a blank across three angkor_khmer rows.

• collect_verb is EMPTY while rng_drop_anchor is set to DROP_BIGGAME_HIDE_MEAT — a drop anchor

with no verb that produces it, and notes already flags the drop table as an empty forward

reference.

• dex_completion_class is EMPTY.
• height_m and length_axis are EMPTY while tier_classification is MEGAFAUNA. This is the largest

wild bovine on earth and the row carries no number for it, so nothing downstream can tell it from

the two smaller bovids it shares a chapter with.

• spawn_rate is EMPTY and flagged in notes.
• primary_region_ids is EMPTY while region_native carries angkor_khmer.
• cultural_care_register is EMPTY here and on CR_0144 while CR_0142 carries a light-care note.
• mesh_tags.material IS CONTAMINATED, not merely thin. The cell carries all six of the CH_05 chapter

palette's terms — "volcanic andesite, keris and pustaha bark, caldera water, ashfall, Angkor

sandstone-and-laterite, and Cham reddish brick" [CH_05.md:267] — copied whole onto an angkor_khmer

animal. Four of the six (volcanic andesite, keris and pustaha bark, caldera water, ashfall) are the

Batak and Javanese anchor's materials and are WRONG NOUNS for a dry-forest ox; a generator reading

this cell is being fed the other half of the chapter.

• kit_ref is EMPTY, which the L11 ruling already boards for the class.
