THE STAGING RULING THIS SHEET PROPOSES — ENGAGEMENT IS PLAYER-OPENED, ON THE GROUND PLANE

THE SHAPE OF THE PROBLEM, STATED BEFORE IT IS ANSWERED. CH_07 fixes its combat routes by name: "All

other combat routes against the corrupted marma-assassin ..., the restored Surapadman-class asura

..., and the temple-guardian dvarapala trial" [CH_07.md:252]. The western_ghats site row carries

ambient_threat low [CH_07.md:104]. No beat in the fourteen-beat graph stages a cat. THE ASSET

ANCHOR DOES NAME THIS ANIMAL, AND THIS SHEET READS IT RATHER THAN DECLINING IT — CH_07.md:269 lists

"the Indian peacock ..., the cobra ..., the Western Ghats elephant and macaque and Nilgiri fauna as

ambient presences", and "Nilgiri fauna" NAMES THIS ROW, on three canon cells that agree and none that

disagrees. THE ROW'S OWN cultural_significance reads "Nilgiri population (Ch 07)", quoted in full

at § 1 above. THE REGION PAGE'S Section 3 consumes "the Bengal tiger (CR_0037, Panthera tigris

tigris, the Nilgiri population)" by id and binomial [south_india.md:211-212]. AND

T3_Creatures_Tameable:370 carries the same animal as the "Nilgiri population" under the Ch-07

catalog's "Apex and DANGEROUS" heading. Three documents, one population name, one row.

WHAT THE ANCHOR GRANTS IS EXACTLY WHAT IT SAYS AND NOT ONE THING MORE: an AMBIENT PRESENCE. It puts

the animal in the chapter and stages no encounter, which is the ruling below rather than an obstacle

to it — the row is canon-staged as present, and engagement is still opened by the player. The roster

row's own chapter_first_encounter CH_07 closes the grounding. Nothing here invents a staging canon

does not carry.

THE RULING, BUILT UNDER THE LANDED PRECEDENT FOR EXACTLY THIS SHAPE

[DIRECTOR_RULING_L13 RULING_3, the lion fork]:

state the site row declares. It is present, it is audible at night, its sign is everywhere, and it

is walked past.

ATTACK — any strike or cast the player directs at the animal. (2) ENTRY INTO A CONTEST ENVELOPE,

and this row's envelopes are derived from what this animal actually does rather than from the

lion's habits. THE DRAG AND ITS COVER: a tiger drags a kill off the trail into thick cover and lies

up beside it for days, so the envelope is the carcass plus the ground the animal has flattened

around it, and the DRAG ITSELF — a lane of bent undergrowth with blood at stem height — is visible

from outside and points straight at the envelope. THE DAY WALLOW: through the heat the animal lies

in water in cover, and the envelope is the pool's bank and the shade that reaches it, announced by

a wet drag-out mark and flattened reed on the bank. BOTH ARE THINGS THE PLAYER SEES BEFORE THEY ARE

INSIDE ONE, which is the condition that makes a player-opened rule fair.

is up and working, and it is replaced by THE GAME TRAIL between water and cover — a lane the player

can see is a lane, and can walk beside instead of along. Dark makes the animal press harder INSIDE

engagement; it never makes it open on a player who opened nothing.

the swat, the throat drop, the re-approach from a new bearing, and the kill. RULING_7's

fight-and-tame grammar gets everything it ruled in. What it does not get is a schedule.

LESSON.** Every envelope on this sheet lies on the ground plane — a drag, a bank, a trail. Every

envelope on CR_0038_indian_leopard.md is over the player's head. The two cats of one chapter

teach a player to look down and up for two different reasons, and the sheets are deliberately not

interchangeable.

So CH_07 stages no fauna encounter and this sheet builds none: no beat, no boss row, no scripted

trigger, no entry in the chapter's encounter list. What the row keeps is its grade's own combat-first

entry fill, armed behind an envelope the player crosses on purpose.

THE STRONGEST OBJECTION TO THIS RULING, STATED RATHER THAN HIDDEN. A player-opened apex predator can

be walked past forever by a cautious player, so the chapter's largest animal may never be met at all

— which looks like the row buying safety with irrelevance. THE ANSWER, and it is why the ruling

stands: the envelopes are not rare and they are not hidden. The Ghats crossing is a traversal zone

with a gathering loop running through it [CH_07.md:80, :105], the drag lane and the wallow bank sit

directly on the ground the gathering walks, and the DECISION to route around one is itself the

content. An animal a player chooses to leave alone is a resident; an animal that jumps a player on a

timer is a set piece. The second objection — that this contradicts CH_16's staged tiger AMBUSH — is

answered in § 6 by SCOPE: the player-opened rule is CH_07's, canon stages the ambush at CH_16 in its

own words, and this sheet does not export its ruling into a chapter that ruled itself.

2. base_species

build/3d/schema/anatomy_reference/QUADRUPED.json § sub_plans.carnivoran_digitigrade.

BUCKET COVERAGE IS BY ARCHETYPE, and it is machine-recorded rather than asserted:

build/3d/schema/creature_archetype_map.json maps CR_0037 to QUADRUPED, matched_on

"species_class='mammal' + scientific_name~'panthera'". The sub-plan's declared exemplars are

"CR_0057 Cheetah (see census_defects)" and "generic canid/felid", so this row is covered as a felid

and not by census id. THE REFERENCE TAXON IS *Canis lupus familiaris* and the table states the

substitution in its own words: felid ranges "transfer as BOUNDS, not as values", with the caveat

living at QUADRUPED.json's top-level unmeasured list — "felid-specific goniometric ranges — no

published felid equivalent of Jaeger et al. 2002." EVERY DEGREE BELOW IS A BOUND ON A TIGER, NEVER

A MEASUREMENT OF ONE.

sagittal plane [§ posture_grade, § one_line]

vertebrae, taxon-variable; THE CLAVICLE IS VESTIGIAL OR ABSENT and the forelimb hangs in a MUSCULAR

SLING (synsarcosis), so the scapula translates on the ribcage and there is no bony shoulder joint

to the trunk at all [§ segments]

mirrored scapula → humerus → radioulna → carpus → metacarpus → digits and femur → tibia → tarsus →

metatarsus → toes chains; tail_00 off the pelvis. Every _L bone carries an identical _R sibling

[§ skeleton, § mirror_rule]

rotation ±15 as excursion about neutral, with the table's own warning that a rig parenting the

humerus straight to the spine loses the whole first third of the stride [DYCE2010, SISSON1975];

glenohumeral flexion-extension 57-165, abduction-adduction ±20, axial rotation ±15 [JAEGER2002,

ASYMMETRICAL: the run is the ROTARY gallop LH-RH-RF-LF, which the table names the felid gallop,

with the back contributing a second suspension phase — two airborne moments per cycle rather than

one [§ gait]. The solver takes duty factor plus per-foot phase offsets with the spine driven FK

off the gait clock and the feet IK to ground [§ gait.solver_note].

of at least 4 bones each; bilateral symmetry required [§ rig_conformance]

because the bucket publishes bone and joint only. The jaw gape at about 65 degrees on the table's

jaw deform bone, which carries no range, adopted from the landed felid precedent

[CR_0024_sumatran_tiger.md:73-75]; CLAW PROTRACTION as a joint state rather than a texture swap,

with the excursion now DECLARED rather than merely asserted to exist — about 40 degrees of rotation

at the distal phalanx carrying the claw from fully sheathed to fully protracted; THE PINNA AS A

DRIVEN JOINT WITH A DECLARED ROTATION RANGE OF ABOUT 150 DEGREES about a single dorsoventral axis,

carrying the ear from erect-forward through neutral to flat-back against the skull, of which the

TERMINAL 30 DEGREES is the excursion that reveals the primary mark — a range this design's primary

axis depends on and which the bucket's bone roster cannot express; and the mass claim below. EVERY

FIGURE IN THIS BULLET IS AUTHORIAL_ANATOMY: the game's own authored values on joints the table does

not publish, never a measurement of a tiger and never a transfer from the canid reference. The table's standing caveat

carries: goniometry measures the PASSIVE envelope and what a live animal reaches under its own

power is smaller by an amount the sources do not separate [§ unmeasured].

and markedly larger than the arc's other tiger, which canon states from the other side — Khan's

subspecies carries "smaller body size canonical to island dwarfism" measured against mainland

tigers [T3_Familiars_Named:386]. The row's own height_m and length_axis cells are EMPTY, so the

comparative claim has no machine-readable home and § 9 boards it. Mass is carried forward through a

deep chest and a heavy forequarter; the walk is a lateral-sequence walk the animal almost never

leaves; the sprint is short and is spent in one attempt.

and THE LAST THIRD OF THE TAIL HELD CLEAR OF THE GROUND — the landed tiger carriage, both halves of

it, adopted rather than re-derived [CR_0024_sumatran_tiger.md:84-85] — on a tail thick at the root,

tapering to a point, and running to roughly half the head-body length.

this sheet and of the legibility contract had this animal's tail hanging IN the ground line, which

contradicted the landed CR_0024 carriage it cites in the same sentence. THE LANDED CR_0024 CARRIAGE

GOVERNS, under first-landed-governs [CR_0024_sumatran_tiger.md:84-85]. The carriage half of the

tiger-against-leopard discriminator is struck on both sheets of the pair, and what remains as the

finder is the LENGTH RATIO alone.

3. lore_source

SEARCHED. folklore_behavior_substrate and folklore_attribution_source are both EMPTY on the

row. The region page's whole 1,481 lines mention this animal exactly twice, at :211-212, and both

mentions are the consumed-roster line naming the id and the binomial — there is no tiger tradition,

no tiger name, no tiger belief and no tiger practice anywhere on the page. That is a NEGATIVE

CONTROL: an exhaustive search of the page and of T3_Creatures_Tameable's Ch-07 block returns the

roster lines and nothing else, which reports an absence rather than a failed query.

POINT. The kalari encodes an entire indigenous ethology as combat form: the vadivu poses are named

after animals and one documented roster runs "gajavadivu the elephant, simhavadivu the lion,

asvavadivu the horse, varahavadivu the wild boar, sarpavadivu the serpent, marjaravadivu the cat,

kukkuvadivu the cock and matsyavadivu the fish", with a second master's roster substituting

mayuravadivu the peacock [south_india.md:227-232, SRC_00262]. THERE IS A LION POSE AND A CAT POSE

AND THERE IS NO TIGER POSE AND NO LEOPARD POSE. This sheet therefore attaches no kalari register to

this animal, invents no tiger vadivu, and records the absence as a finding rather than filling it.

crocodile precedent [DIRECTOR_RULING_L13 RULING_4, crocodile_ch10_deciding_read]. The cell reads

"Pashupati seal figure (Ch 16 Indus)" and CH_16 is where that register lives: the Indus chapter

carries "the presiding tiger, elephant, rhinoceros, and buffalo of the iconography" and states in

its own words that "the combat-permitted encounters are ecologically-framed wild individuals in the

river and scrub zones, explicitly de-coupled at the asset layer from the Pashupati iconographic

register, so a production pass cannot inherit combat-permission for a sacred-register instance from

the species" [CH_16.md:210], with both registers rendered on the same species [CH_16.md:232]. THE

RULING: the iconographic register is not authored here, this sheet asserts nothing about what the

Harappan record holds, and the doctrine's § 3D ceiling clause applies at Ch 16 rather than at Ch 7 —

the moment that register attaches, the CH_16 sheet re-derives under the full grammar. § 9 boards the

empty folklore columns the register would need.

source behind every tradition line quoted above. The SRC_ machinery matches on this region; it

simply reaches no tiger.

carries NO zoological or ecological source for this region ... this page authors no hunting

mechanic, no habitat rule and no population claim. That is a sourcing gap, not a softening"

[south_india.md:217-221]. Every ethological line in § 4 and § 6 is therefore marked

AUTHORIAL_ANATOMY: general zoological knowledge carried as DESIGN, never presented as a claim of

any source this region holds. The acquisition is boarded in § 9.

4. elevation

row's folklore columns are empty, it stages no supernatural claim, and CH_07 reserves stylization by

name — "realistic-ethnographic for the Tamil and Malayali communities, temples, forges, and kalari;

mythologically-stylized only for the asura, the pey/bhutam, and the dvarapala" [CH_07.md:271] — a

reservation the row's own mesh_tags.style cell obeys. A supernatural tiger standing beside the

three things this chapter reserved styling for is the Komodo defect inverted.

both directions. The register governs what the body IS; it governs nothing about what the animal

DOES.

THE LEGIBILITY CONTRACT — CH_07's FELID DISCRIMINATION, AUTHORED ONCE AND CARRIED BYTE-IDENTICAL ON

BOTH SHEETS OF THE PAIR (CR_0037_bengal_tiger.md § 4 and CR_0038_indian_leopard.md § 4). It is the

silhouette-first discrimination the § 3D register owes in place of the replica test, black-filled at

the shipped combat camera, and it covers every confusable body a player can meet in or beside this

chapter.

THE SET. TWO WILD FELIDS ARE ROWED AT CH_07 — CR_0037 the Bengal tiger (*Panthera tigris tigris*,

trophic_role apex) and CR_0038 the Indian leopard (*Panthera pardus fusca*, trophic_role

mid-level), named together on the region page's own consumed-roster line [south_india.md:211-213].

A THIRD FELID WALKS BESIDE THE PLAYER AND IS NOT WILD: Khan, the bonded Sumatran tiger (G1), carried

into this chapter from Ch 5 [CH_07.md:21, :286, :308]. A FOURTH IS ONE CHAPTER BEHIND: CR_0029 the

Sri Lankan leopard, chapters_present CH_06, not present here and freshly learned. The contract's

job is that no player and no critic ever confuses any of the four.

THE GOVERNING LAW OF THIS CONTRACT: THE FINDER IS SCALE-FREE AND THE CONFIRM IS NOT. A player cannot

judge an animal's size without judging its distance first, and in wet Ghats forest the distance read

fails before the size read does. Every finder below is therefore a RATIO measured against the

animal's own body, and every colour or pattern read is a CONFIRM that arrives second. The

stockings-rule precedent from the CH_05 bovid set is carried in principle: a confirming mark

confirms, it never finds [CR_0143_gaur.md:118-131, adopted at CR_0056_african_lion.md:234-235].

night, rain and a melanistic coat. IT IS A LENGTH RATIO AND NOTHING ELSE, because CARRIAGE DOES NOT

DISCRIMINATE THESE TWO ANIMALS and this contract no longer asks it to. A TIGER'S TAIL IS ROUGHLY

HALF ITS HEAD-BODY LENGTH, thick at the root and tapering to a point. A LEOPARD'S TAIL IS ROUGHLY

TWO-THIRDS TO THREE-QUARTERS OF ITS HEAD-BODY LENGTH, thin along its whole run — about HALF AGAIN

the tiger's ratio, which is the gap the finder measures. BOTH CATS HOLD THE LAST THIRD OF THE TAIL

CLEAR OF THE GROUND: that is the LANDED carriage and it governs under first-landed-governs

[CR_0024_sumatran_tiger.md:84-85], so in black fill the read is HOW FAR THE LINE RUNS AGAINST THE

BODY IT LEAVES and never how the line is held. NEITHER ENDS IN A BLOB — the terminal tuft is the

lion's alone and no lion is in this chapter [CR_0056_african_lion.md:217-223]. THE LEOPARD FIGURE IS

A CORRECTION TO THE LANDED CH_10 READING RATHER THAN A SILENT DIVERGENCE FROM IT:

CR_0056_african_lion.md:219-220 states that a leopard's tail "is as long as its body", this pair

restates it as two-thirds to three-quarters of head-body length, and § 9 boards the upstream

correction so that two sheets do not carry two numbers.

the felid set. The other large bodies this chapter stages — CR_0040 the Indian elephant above all —

stand TALL on column-straight legs and read as MASS ABOVE DAYLIGHT, a deep band of open ground

running the animal's whole length. Both cats are the inverse: a LOW HORIZONTAL on flexed

digitigrade limbs with almost no daylight under the belly. The class fact is the landed one and is

adopted whole [CR_0056_african_lion.md:253-258].

Bengal tiger is the largest cat in the chapter and the leopard is a fraction of it; where a known

object is in frame — a path, a stump, a standing person — the mass read is decisive and free, and

where none is, the tail ratio has already answered.

the last check taken and it fails outright on the leopard's melanistic morph, which is precisely why

this contract is built on ratio.

is the player's own bonded familiar and the other is a wild apex predator, and canon supplies the

discriminator in its own words. Khan is *Panthera tigris sumatrae*, with a "darker orange coat with

closer-set black stripes than mainland tigers" and a "smaller body size canonical to island

dwarfism" [T3_Familiars_Named:386], and CR_0037 IS THE MAINLAND TIGER THAT SENTENCE IS MEASURED

AGAINST: bigger, paler in the ground colour, wider-barred. THE MOTION FINDER IS BETTER THAN ANY OF

THAT AND IT SURVIVES BLACK FILL. The landed CR_0024 sheet builds Khan's cohort with a NAPE SHELF

whose declared cost is that it "removes roughly a third of the available lateral excursion" so that

"the animal turns with its whole forequarter because its neck can no longer do the work alone"

[CR_0024_sumatran_tiger.md:163-169]. CR_0037 refuses elevation and therefore carries no shelf, so

ITS NECK TURNS ON ITS OWN. THE RULE: the tiger that looks at you by turning its head alone is the

wild Ghats animal; the tiger that has to square its shoulders to look is Khan. Proximity confirms

it — Khan travels on the player's line and a wild tiger never does.

than a body, because canon puts the difference in the trophic cell rather than in the appearance.

CR_0029 is trophic_role apex and its own catalog entry states the reason — "Apex predator (no

tiger population in Sri Lanka per regional biogeography)" [T3_Creatures_Tameable:345]. CR_0038 is

trophic_role mid-level and shares its range with CR_0037. So on the island the big spotted cat is

the only big cat and it keeps its kill where it fell; on this shore the same spotted cat is the

SECOND cat and it takes its kill UP a tree, away from the first one. THE RULE, and it is a thing

the player must unlearn one chapter after learning it: in Ch 6 you found the spotted cat's kill on

the ground, and in Ch 7 you find it over your head.

the gray langur and CR_0042 the bonnet macaque occupy the same boughs a leopard lies up on, and at

dusk a dark mass on a branch is a dark mass on a branch. THE TAIL ANSWERS ONLY HALF OF IT, AND THE

HALF IT ANSWERS IS THE LANGUR: a langur's tail is thin and carried in a hook ABOVE the line of its

back, which no cat does. THE MACAQUE IS NOT SEPARATED BY THE TAIL AT ALL, AND THIS CONTRACT SAYS SO

RATHER THAN PRETENDING OTHERWISE — the landed primate contract finds *Macaca radiata* by a tail

carried DOWN, hanging below the back line or trailing on the stone, on an animal whose tail is

longer than its head-body length [CR_0042_bonnet_macaque.md:258-261], and a tail hanging down out of

a bough is exactly the leopard's own mark. FOUR READS SEPARATE THE CAT FROM THE MONKEYS AND EACH

SURVIVES BLACK FILL. (1) BODY MASS AGAINST BRANCH DIAMETER: the leopard lies on timber thick enough

to carry a body of its own order and the branch does not move under it, while a monkey sits out on a

limb a cat's mass would bend, so the BRANCH is the scale rule the forest otherwise refuses to give.

body that is STILL. Mass, posture, head outline, count — four reads that never collide.

DESIGN RULE, carried in principle from the landed lion sheet's tuft rule

[CR_0056_african_lion.md:241-244]: the tail tip is always the last thing to go still, on both

animals, so one ratio read stays alive in every idle either of them has.

THE STATE LADDER — A5 age and state, and these are the states a species-typical photograph does not

contain (AUTHORIAL_ANATOMY throughout, per § 3's declared sourcing gap):

is the most dangerous configuration in the chapter and the least aggressive animal in it, because

the danger is entirely about where the player stands. A TWO-YEAR SUBADULT pushed off the natal

range is thin, in the wrong country, and is the animal a player actually meets near a working path.

A PRIME RESIDENT is heavy through the neck and shoulders and knows every lane in its range. AN OLD

RESIDENT carries worn canines and takes slower prey, which is the honest, non-melodramatic reason

an old tiger comes closer to people. The player reads which one they are in from mass, condition

and whether there is a second animal.

wet the coat is sodden, the ground colour sinks and the bars lift; in the dry the belly, forelegs

and flanks carry LATERITE — the red the region's own ground is made of, which the environment

grammar rows this animal walks on carry as an ambient_state_gift material:laterite

[T0_Environment_Grammar_Registry @ EG_0090]. A tiger that has crossed a gully wears the gully.

different animal [CR_0056_african_lion.md:277-279]: an animal two hours off a kill is gorged,

slow, and marked at the ruff and forelegs; two days off one it is flat-bellied and attentive. This

is the difference between an animal that lets a player walk past and one that does not.

spent the heat lying in water carries a MUD LINE at chest height, a dark saturated lower half above

a dry upper half, and it moves differently for an hour afterwards. It is the single most identifying

material state this animal has and it is entirely light-law compliant.

gore scar at gaur-horn height, and a torn pinna that permanently costs the animal half of its

primary axis on one side.

in laterite mud with the drying edge telling its age; a scrape at a trail junction; bark scored at

shoulder height; the drag lane. The boundary-mark vocabulary is the landed one and is carried

forward rather than re-invented [CR_0024_sumatran_tiger.md:257-260].

PRIMARY — A9 THE MARK, spent as THE MARK THAT ONLY EXISTS WHEN THE ANIMAL MEANS IT: the two white

ocelli on the backs of the ears. MECHANISM, and it is anatomy rather than texture: the pale patches

sit on the caudal surface of the pinna, which means they are OCCLUDED in every posture where the ear

is carried erect and forward, and they are REVEALED only when the pinna rotates flat back against the

skull. The mark is therefore produced by a JOINT STATE — the driven pinna declared in § 2 — and it

appears at exactly and only the moment the animal has stopped assessing and started committing. One

mark, one meaning, at head height, high-contrast against a dark head, readable at any distance the

fight happens at, and no light emitted anywhere. A creature carrying three marks carries none; this

one carries one, and it is a verb.

ONE-LINE READ: the big pale-ground tiger of the mainland, head carried below its shoulders, with a

short thick tail in the grass and a neck that turns on its own — until two white points appear on the

back of its head.

THE JOB, and it is why the row is worth a sheet. THIS CHAPTER IS ABOUT ROOTEDNESS: two crafts take

the protagonist in, and for the first time since the cave there are "doors that will open to them

again, benches that are theirs to return to" [CH_07.md:25]. Every other ground in the chapter belongs

to somebody — a precinct, a court, a forge, a pit, a shrine. THE GHATS ARE THE ONE GROUND THAT

BELONGS TO NOBODY, and the region's own environment grammar says so in a sentence about scars: this

is "the WILD ground of this chapter and the only surface in it that may carry a scar — every other

Ch-7 ground is a community's working fabric or a consecrated one"

[T0_Environment_Grammar_Registry @ EG_0090]. The tiger is what makes that sentence true. A chapter

whose whole emotional argument is that some doors open twice needs one place where the ground is

already taken and nothing will open for you, and this animal is that place walking around.

EMISSION: none. The animal reads by being lit — wet coat under canopy light, laterite dust, and the

flat retinal sheen of an eye catching a torch already in the scene.

5. articulation_delta

additions to the body. In particular, and stated affirmatively because the arc's other tiger has

them: THIS ANIMAL CARRIES NO NAPE SHELF AND NO OVER-BUILT THROAT. Those are CR_0024's declared

ELEVATION [CR_0024_sumatran_tiger.md:119-130] and importing them here would elevate against canon.

that the table does not publish. It attaches at the head bone and carries a single dorsoventral

rotation axis with a DECLARED EXCURSION OF ABOUT 150 DEGREES (AUTHORIAL_ANATOMY — the bucket

publishes no pinna bone and therefore no range, so this figure is the game's own authored value)

running from erect-forward through neutral to flat-back against the skull, and it is the TERMINAL

30 DEGREES of that range that occludes or reveals the primary mark. Weight is

negligible and ROM elsewhere is unchanged; what changes is the SILHOUETTE OF THE HEAD, which goes

from two points up to a smooth round outline the instant the animal commits — so the mark's arrival

and the head's outline change are the same event and reinforce each other in black fill.

(AUTHORIAL_ANATOMY, the game's own authored value on a joint the table does not publish), sheathed

at walk and protracted at contact, and the sheathed state is why this animal is silent on wet leaf

litter.

is driven on an idle twitch clock independent of the tail's own sway, so the contract's finder

survives full rest.

contract depends on it: the table's cervical chain and the ±6 per-joint lateral bound are carried

UNREDUCED here, where CR_0024 spends about a third of that budget on its shelf. The discrimination

against the player's own familiar is therefore a REAL ROM difference between two rigs and not a

costume note.

6. fight_grammar

NO BOSS ROW EXISTS AND NONE IS ASKED FOR. CH_07's combat routes are fixed to the marma-assassin, the

asura and the dvarapala trial [CH_07.md:252], and this row's encounter verbs are therefore taken from

its own cells — collect_verb DOCUMENT;FIGHT, combat_permission PERMITTED, trade_8_tameable

DANGEROUS — plus the three routes the DANGEROUS grade carries [T3_Creatures_Tameable:100, :118,

:120].

EVERYTHING BELOW IS INSIDE ENGAGEMENT, AND ENGAGEMENT IS PLAYER-OPENED PER § 1. The animal never

initiates on an unengaged player; the player opens by attacking, or by crossing into the drag's cover

or the day wallow, or at night by walking the game trail rather than beside it. THE MOMENT ONE IS

CROSSED, EVERYTHING IN THIS BLOCK IS LIVE AT FULL WEIGHT AND NOTHING IN IT IS SOFTENED.

THE SCOPE OF THAT RULE, STATED SO NO LATER LANE OVER-READS IT. It is CH_07's. chapters_present

carries this row to CH_16, where canon stages an actual ambush in its own words — "the Bengal

tiger's ambush ... combat-permitted wildlife handled as ecology" at CH16_B03, on ground the site row

gives `ambient_threat ... moderate in the surrounding scrub where the Bengal tiger ranges"

[CH_16.md:102, :118, :83]. WHERE CANON STAGES INITIATION, INITIATION IS STAGED. This sheet banks the

complete grammar at chapter_first_encounter for the whole span, exactly as the adopted crocodile

read does [DIRECTOR_RULING_L13 RULING_4], and the CH_16 lane inherits the grammar with its own

canon-given staging and its own Pashupati routing. Nothing is defanged in either direction: the

difference between the two chapters is canon's, not this lane's.

PART ECONOMY HOME: SURFACES, held on the ARENA rather than on the body, declared by name per

doctrine § 2.4. There is nothing to break on a tiger. What there is instead is a set of APPROACH

LANES between the player's ground and the envelope, closed one at a time by the player BEFORE

anything is opened: a fire on the fuel:flammable gift the Ghats understory carries

[T0_Environment_Grammar_Registry @ EG_0020, CONCEALMENT, enemy_usable TRUE], a thorn line from

the same margin, the gully lip as high ground [@ EG_0090], and the choice of which side of a lane

to walk. The three currencies hold — a closed lane is a permanent subtraction from the animal's live

openers that night, each closure is a legibility gain because the approach narrows and the tell reads

earlier, and the material the economy wants is the player's own fuel, thorn and hours. THIS IS THE

CR_0024 EXTENSION AND THE DOCTRINE FINDING ON IT IS ALREADY OPEN [CR_0024_sumatran_tiger.md:372-378];

this sheet is a further instance and adds nothing new to the question.

THE SILHOUETTE FRACTIONS, ONE PER SURFACE, BECAUSE DOCTRINE § 4 FAILS A fight_grammar BLOCK THAT

CARRIES A PART WITH NO SILHOUETTE FRACTION. THE AFFIRMATIVE STATEMENT COMES FIRST SO THAT NO GATE

READS A SILENCE HERE: A SURFACES HOME EXTENDED TO A BODIED CREATURE CANNOT CARRY A BODY FRACTION.

None of these parts is on the animal, the tiger's own silhouette loses nothing when a lane closes,

and the fraction that changes is the ARENA's — which is the VEHICLE convention the doctrine already

uses for a non-body economy, "measured in silhouette fractions of the ARENA rather than of the

creature" [doctrine § 2.4]. The fractions below are of the ARENA FRAME at the shipped combat camera,

and the doctrine ask that this extension needs is boarded in § 9 beside the open CR_0024 finding

[CR_0024_sumatran_tiger.md:372-378].

The lane's two margins are about equal halves of the frame's ground plane, so choosing one closes

roughly HALF the ground the animal can arrive across, and it costs nothing but the decision — which

is why it is the closure the chapter teaches first.

THE CROSS-CREATURE LESSONS, BOTH NAMED, because both are deliberate. AGAINST THE LION: CR_0056 rules

that on the cat "head-down is the commit and head-up is the bluff" and that the discriminating channel

there is THE VOICE — "the silent one is the real one" [CR_0056_african_lion.md:373-383]. This animal

agrees about the head and changes the channel: on the Ghats tiger the discriminator is THE EARS, not

the voice, because a tiger that is about to come has usually already stopped making sound. Same

family, same head axis, a different instrument — which is the doctrine's own point that a tell's

channel belongs to the animal. AGAINST KHAN'S COHORT: CR_0024's opener is THE FOREQUARTER SQUARE

because its nape shelf makes the whole-body turn unavoidable

[CR_0024_sumatran_tiger.md:216-219]. THIS ANIMAL CANNOT HAVE THAT OPENER, because it has no shelf and

its neck turns on its own — so its assessment costs it nothing and its commit arrives with LESS

warning than Khan's. The player who learned tigers from walking beside Khan has learned a tiger with

a longer tell than the wild one has. That is the intended lesson and it is a hard one.

THE ESCALATION, ON THE FOUR CHANNELS, and it is ASSERTIVENESS INSIDE ENGAGEMENT rather than a phase.

NIGHT SETS THE STARTING RUNG AND DOES NOT PULL THE TRIGGER. POSTURE — the head drops to the shoulder

line and STAYS there; the assessment has become the stalk. BREATH — the audible breathing of an

animal resting in the heat stops. VOCALIZATION — the chuff, which is the assessment sound, stops, and

NOTHING REPLACES IT [the chuff-as-assessment is the landed reading, CR_0024_sumatran_tiger.md:211-212].

The silence is the escalation, and this sheet states affirmatively that the world does not move for

this animal's roar: the world-moving infrasonic version is CR_0024's declared ELEVATION

[CR_0024_sumatran_tiger.md:126-130] and a REAL_FAUNA row does not carry it. NEW OPENER — the animal

stops facing the player and begins circling to come from a new bearing, which is a move that needs

ground rather than a second animal and therefore cannot happen in a lane the player has already

closed.

THE OPENER AND ITS VARIANTS: the root is THE HEAD TURN ALONE — the most legible and least punishing

thing in the set, because obeying it costs nothing and it teaches the whole encounter. Its variants

share the origin and lengthen from it: THE EARS GOING FLAT is the same turn with the pinna spent; THE

REACHING SWAT is the turn spent forward through the shoulder blade; THE THROAT DROP is the turn spent

down the line the eyes already chose. Teaching order is see it, obey it, watch the ears, and then find

out what the ears meant.

THE TAME HALF OF RULING_7, BUILT, AND ITS LICENCE IS GRANTED RATHER THAN GATED. The DANGEROUS grade

carries three routes [T3_Creatures_Tameable:100, :118, :120]:

OBSERVATION_CHAIN and collect_verb leads with DOCUMENT; seven non-combat observations is the

canonical completionist benchmark [T3_Creatures_Tameable:114]. Progress lives in the ANIMAL

rather than in a HUD, on the landed ladder [CR_0024_sumatran_tiger.md:262-267]: at the first

observation it leaves at the sight of the player and by the seventh it lets them be there. A child

of ten documenting a wallow from a gully lip is exactly this chapter's register.

Trickery misdirection at Trade 8 mastery, and Animal Communication species-level request behaviour

at Trade 1 canonical mastery [T3_Creatures_Tameable:120]. THIS CHAPTER IS TRADE 4's FIRST HOME

BASE [CH_07.md:79, :285], so the Herbalism route's own home opens in the same chapter as the

animal — the most chapter-grounded instance of that route anywhere in the early arc. THE GATE IS

NAMED HONESTLY RATHER THAN ASSERTED: § 1.5 gates a mid-tier mammal's Animal Communication response

at "Theoricus through Practicus" [T3_Creatures_Tameable:149] and CH_07 records a per-capability

Neophyte FLOOR with no trade tier stated [CH_07.md:281]. Whether Trade 1 or Trade 4 has reached

Theoricus by Ch 7 is not something canon says, so this sheet designs the routes and boards the gate.

"QUARRY-status species and PERMITTED DANGEROUS-status species" [T3_Creatures_Tameable:118] and

this row is PERMITTED and DANGEROUS and carries DROP_BIGGAME_HIDE_MEAT — so unlike the CH_10 apex,

nothing here waits on an empty cell. TRACKING runs on the sign ladder in § 4: pugmark in laterite

with the drying edge giving its age, scrape, scored bark, drag. APPROACH INTO THE WIND under the

species' own alert behaviour, with three body origins per phase — at long range the animal is

feeding or lying up and its head is down, which is the only window the approach has; at middle

range the head turns alone and the body does not, and the player must stop inside that beat; at

close range the ears go flat and the approach is over because the encounter has become the one

above. THE HUNT'S FAIL STATE IS THE FIGHT. THE KILL with the weapon and element the animal's hide

and mass answer to. FIELD-DRESSING into hide, claw, meat and sinew at the drop table's rarity

grades. THE CONSEQUENCE, in the doc's own words: "the range thins, the predator that fed on it

moves, and the community that shares the range remembers who took what" [:118]. THE HUNT IS NEVER

REQUIRED — the seven-observation chain remains the completionist path [:118].

RELOCATION AND TURF. The animal holds a range rather than a room, and under the ruling the turf IS

the trigger geometry: the envelope moves through the day — wallow through the heat, drag wherever

last night's kill fell, game trail before dawn — so a player who learned where it was yesterday looks

again today. It does not enter the player's night; the player enters its cover. It BREAKS CONTACT and

returns to the kill rather than pursuing far, and it does not follow onto open laterite where it has

no cover [@ EG_0090, TRAVERSAL_SURFACE]. What it does to the arena is put one moving piece of the

Ghats crossing off limits, which is a resident's behaviour and not a set piece's.

7. care_read

rather than leaving the lane to infer it — cultural_care_register reads that "hunting an ordinary

animal touches nothing of the collective protection, which is framing-level and never a claim about

game animals". Doctrine part five agrees in terms: ORDINARY_FAUNA carries no collective claim at

all and a lane must not re-apply collective protection to game animals. CH_07's § 17.1 protection

is about the Tamil and Malayali communities, the Siddha tradition, the kalari and temple

communities, the smiths and healers and the honored Raghavendra [CH_07.md:252;

south_india.md:406-421] — every one of them a teaching or protected presence, and not one of them

anywhere near a target position on this sheet. Nothing here puts a person in frame as a target, and

the whole encounter happens on ground the Zone Catalog marks protected false

[south_india.md:62].

the CH_10 apex. ontology_class reads ORDINARY_FAUNA on the row and the ruled state records it as

NO_REACH_RULED under RULING_10. The sheet designs to it and writes nothing.

names the chapters whose community-and-species relationship establishes the protected register —

Ch 11 Baka-honeyguide, Ch 12 Vodun-python, Ch 29 Sámi-reindeer, Ch 42 Haiti, Ch 57 Australia. Ch 07

is absent, and its absence is the ruling. The region page's own elevated-handling strands are

named and neither is fauna: caste, and the seventh-century religious confrontation

[south_india.md:412-421].

CR_0039 the peafowl is the "Kartikeya-Murugan sacred species", CR_0040 the elephant is

"Ganesha-adjacent; cross-cultural sacred", CR_0041 and CR_0042 are "Siddha-tradition sacred monkey"

populations, and all four carry a cultural_care_register paragraph putting a WORLD-RULE cost on

killing them inside the precinct. THIS ROW CARRIES NO SUCH CLAUSE and no precinct: the tiger is not

a temple animal, it is not in the vadivu roster (§ 3), and manufacturing a sacred register for it

to be safe would be inventing a tradition, which is the one thing the care doctrine forbids in both

directions.

the doctrine's founding defect. The subject is real charismatic megafauna and the style cell reads

realistic-ethnographic, which is one careless prompt away from the anatomically-accurate

photographic-wildlife brief that produced a documentary lizard. THE PLATE'S JUDGING QUESTION: does

the animal in it read as a DESIGNED INDIVIDUAL carrying a named age rung, a named material state

and a named mark-state, or as wildlife reference?

(1) IS THE REAL_FAUNA REGISTER A DEFANG ON THE CHAPTER'S LARGEST PREDATOR? Examined and RULED NO.

The register governs ELEVATION and nothing else — § 3D states that every other test binds

unchanged. CH_07.md:271 reserves stylization for the asura, the pey/bhutam and the dvarapala, the

row's folklore columns are empty, and an elevated tiger would be elevation AGAINST canon, which

§ 3D was ratified to stop. The boldness went to the fight and the hunt instead.

(2) IS THE PLAYER-OPENED RULING A DEFANG? Examined and RULED NO. The devil's-advocate reading is

that a predator which never initiates is a predator on a leash. It fails on what the ruling does:

it removes the SCHEDULE and keeps the TEETH — the commit, the swat, the throat drop, the

re-approach and the kill are all live at full weight, and the encounter gains a decision the player

owns and can be wrong about. The alternative WOULD have been the defect: a scheduled charge on an

unengaged player contradicts ambient_threat low [CH_07.md:104] and the chapter's own routing

sentence [CH_07.md:252], and buying a thrill with a canon contradiction is not boldness. CH_16 is

the control that proves this is not timidity: where canon wants an ambush it stages one by name,

and this sheet stages it there and not here.

(3) SHOULD THE HUNT LOOP HAVE BEEN OMITTED BECAUSE THE BENGAL TIGER IS A CONSERVATION ICON?

REFUSED, and the lesson is already paid for once — CR_0024 built the same loop after first getting

it wrong for exactly this reason [CR_0024_sumatran_tiger.md:296-306]. The row is PERMITTED and

DANGEROUS with a big-game drop anchor; canon grants the loop by name; the loop is built at full

weight with the consequence attached rather than the content removed.

(4) THE BOLD DIRECTION, CHECKED FOR CARE RATHER THAN ASSUMED SAFE — three additions and each one's

check. THE HUNT LOOP: no person is in the frame, the consequence is ecological and communal memory

rather than a mocked community, and the range that thins is the world's, not a people's. THE CUB

RUNG on the resident ladder: it is built because a mother with cubs is the honest most-dangerous

configuration, and the care check is that the player is never rewarded for taking a cub and the

encounter's whole grammar is about the ground the player is standing on. THE NIGHT GAME TRAIL: it

is built because a player-opened rule with only daytime envelopes would make night safe, which is

the timid outcome; the care check is that the trail is visible as a trail before it is walked.

(5) SHOULD THE ANIMAL HAVE BEEN GIVEN A SACRED REGISTER SO IT COULD NOT BE FOUGHT? REFUSED, and it

is the inflation the standing law names — the care register does not accrete, and inventing a

protection canon did not write is both a fabrication and a defang.

pinna mechanism, the six tells and the ears-tell-the-truth rule, the two ground-plane envelopes and

their night replacement, the four-channel escalation, the opener-and-variants tree, the resident
