CANON SUBORDINATION — this document is PROPOSAL-TIER: it serves canon and never outranks it.
The canon: the CVD · the T1 foundation docs · the T0 registries (registries/) · the spine
(docs/spine/CH_*.md) · the region pages (_source/02_Tier_2_Region_Pages/). Authority order:docs/DOC_MAP.md§ 0.
Canon served (scanned from this document's own citations — widen it by hand where it is thin):

READ THAT CANON FIRST — open it and derive from it before you build anything from this document.
If this document disagrees with canon, CANON WINS and this document is the defect — fix the
document, never the canon. Nothing here is applied until it is ratified into canon.
STATUS: PROPOSAL-TIER design sheet, written to docs/proposals/bestiary/BESTIARY_ELEVATION_DOCTRINE.md.
It cites canon rows and writes none.
T0_Creature_Roster @ CR_0007 · flores_island.md § 3 · docs/spine/CH_02.md CH02_B05heavy scaled tail nearly as long again (AUTHORIAL_ANATOMY). No elevation is needed to make it
striking; the species already is.
long caudal chain, four limbs with five digits, ever-growing incisors
wide arc at the base; the forelimb has genuine manipulative reach at the mouth
None claimed. The row's own significance line is ECOLOGICAL: it is the island's endemic giant rodent,
and endemism is the register.
ELEVATION BUDGET: ZERO, DECLARED. trade_8_tameable is OBSERVE, there is no folklore role and no
combat permission. Under the doctrine's scope rule this rides the ordinary asset path, and the
correct design decision is to leave a genuinely remarkable real animal alone.
THE JOB IT CARRIES, and it is the reason this row is not skippable: THE DEEP LAYERS HAVE TO LOOK
OCCUPIED BEFORE THEY ARE. The Ebu Gogo beat at CH02_B05 works only if the deep stratigraphy already
reads as a place where things live, and a large endemic rodent at the edge of the torchlight does that
in one asset. It is the chapter's first answer to "is anything down here", and the answer is yes
before the answer is them.
The SITE REGISTER — the one thing the ambient rows do share. The Ch-2 zone is a vril-dense recharge
site, and ambient life at a potent site shows it in material terms rather than in behaviour: the coat
carries the cave's own pale dust in the guard hairs, and the animals nearer the water carry the same
mineral bloom on the tail scales that the guardian pair wear on their bellies. Three animals, one
water, one mechanism, at three scales. It costs a texture variant and it makes the whole zone read as
one place.
ONE-LINE READ: a rodent the size of a cat, dust-pale along the back, at the edge of the light.
EMISSION: none.
Nothing added.
None. Not faced, not bonded, not hunted. Its interaction grammar is one line: it does not flee
immediately, and the beat of hesitation before it goes is what tells the player the animal has not
been hunted here — which is a different fact about the deep layers than the player expects, and the
Ebu Gogo beat pays it off.

tail across the frame, dust-pale guard hairs along the back. Torch as the only light.
ontology_class and combat_permission are both EMPTY on this row where every other Ch-2 mammalcarries at least one. It is almost certainly ORDINARY_FAUNA / NONE, and a lane that assumes is a
lane that guesses.
generation_status is pending with no mesh_id_ref — this row is unbuilt.
