the animal's own head height, and it is the single most readable motion in the Flores understory

None claimed. The row's canon role is ecological and it is cited: the prey base is the ungulate trio
the roster already carries, prey biomass sets how many great lizards a stretch of country can hold, so
the droppings and tracks a hunter reads double as a map of where the predator ranges [SRC_00176]. And
the cascade: where forest is converted to farmland and the wild ungulates are over-harvested, the apex
predator thins and goes — glimpsed forward through a time-fluctuation window, the same lingko edge

ELEVATION BUDGET: ZERO, DECLARED, WITH ITS REASON. This is an ordinary prey animal with no folklore
role and no designed-being status. The doctrine's scope rule covers it, and the anti-inflation posture
is the correct read: a supernatural deer would cost the chapter the one thing this row is FOR, which
is being ordinary enough that its absence means something.
WHAT IT CARRIES INSTEAD IS THE CHAPTER'S QUIETEST MECHANIC. The deer is an INSTRUMENT:

Permitted, huntable, FIGHT-verbed, and the honest read is that a deer does not fight — it FLEES, and
the hunt is the mechanic. Its grammar is a pursuit grammar:
