None claimed. Ordinary fauna. What canon gives it is a ROLE: the guardian dominates the baited spring

by displacing and even preying on the smaller dragons crowded there [SRC_00175]. That sentence makes

this row the guardian encounter's third party, and it is the reason this sheet exists rather than the

row riding the ordinary asset path.

4. elevation

ONE-LINE SILHOUETTE READ: a small monitor whose skin is fine granular mail all over, head up, quick,

and unarmoured — the animal the guardian used to be.

THE ELEVATION BUDGET IS DELIBERATELY ONE AXIS AND IT IS SPENT BACKWARDS. Every other sheet asks what

to add. This one asks what the guardian's additions look like BEFORE they happen, because the

doctrine's cross-creature lesson rule says a shape reused across creatures with a different meaning

must name the lesson it teaches. The lesson here is the guardian's armour:

• The ossicle bed is present and FINE — a granular mail visible over the skull and nape, unfused,

flexible, with the skin still moving over it. A player who has seen this animal and then meets the

guardian reads the guardian's fused pavement as a mature form of something familiar rather than as

a fantasy addition. That single relationship is what keeps the guardian inside canon's "never a

mythic dragon" line while still not being a photograph.

• No mineral crust. This animal does not lie in the outflow, because the big one will not let it.
• No drool ground state, no healed injuries, no gait asymmetry. It is intact, and being intact is its

entire design.

MECHANISM: age and possession. The difference between the two animals is time at one spring and the

ability to hold it — nothing else.

EMISSION: none.

5. articulation_delta

Nothing added. The delta on this row is a SUBTRACTION from CR_0001's sheet: no nape-shelf ROM

restriction, so this animal turns its head freely and reads as quick where the guardian reads as

heavy. That contrast is the fight's first legibility gift.

6. fight_grammar

Not a boss and not a scripted fight. It is TURF, in the MHWilds sense the rubric arms: two residents

meeting is a third party that costs the player nothing to watch.

• PRESENCE: several are at the fed spring when the player arrives, crowded and feeding.
• THE SCATTER: they leave when the guardian comes, and they leave in a direction — which is a free

early-warning system the player can learn to read before the big animal is in frame.

• THE RETURN: draw the guardian off with a planted carrion lure and they come back within the beat,

and the arena the player is standing in changes character while they watch.

• THE PREDATION: the guardian will break off the player to take one. This is canon's own sentence and

it is the encounter's best AGENCY proof — the boss is doing something that is not about the player.

• TAME: trade_8_tameable is TAME and collect_verb is TAME_BREED, so this animal is also a taming

subject. Its tame tell is the wary temperament: it does not flee at a distance, it flees at a

BEHAVIOUR, so approaching without a straight line and without a raised hand is the whole mechanic.

7. care_read

• COLLECTIVE READ: nothing engaged.
• ONTOLOGY ROUTING: ORDINARY_FAUNA. It is prey to the guardian on screen, which is predation and not

cruelty, and it is the honest ecology the region page describes.

• ROUTE: ordinary asset path. This is the one row in the Ch-2 set that a photographic reference

template serves correctly, and the sheet says so rather than inventing a reason to elevate it.

• ANTI-TIMID PASS, RECORDED: the reduction considered was removing the on-screen predation because a

boss eating a smaller animal reads as cruelty. REFUSED — it is the encounter's strongest agency

beat, it is cited canon, and squeamishness about predation in a rated-R game about a world with

real fauna is exactly the timid option the calibration names.

• INVENTION DECLARATION: the scatter direction as an early-warning read and the behaviour-keyed tame

approach are INVENTED BY THIS SHEET. The displacement and predation at the fed spring are CITED to

SRC_00175.

• REVEAL READ: clean.

8. plate_brief

• PLATE A: four of them crowded at the spring margin over bait, heads up, fine granular mail catching

hard daylight.

• PLATE B: the comparison plate — one of these beside the guardian's head at one scale, the fine

unfused mail against the fused pavement. This is the plate that makes the guardian legible.

9. boarded_debts

• combat_permission is EMPTY on this row while CR_0001, CR_0002, CR_0004 and CR_0006 all carry

PERMITTED. It is faced, displaced and preyed on in the guardian encounter, so the empty cell will

read as a prohibition to any lane that checks it.

• The turf third party has no encounter-composition home, raised here for the second time.
