CONSTRUCT REGISTER's second built instance and the one BE_0003_S3 boarded by name — that sheet's own
debt reads "the slice needs it at least five times before Ch 13… and BE_0012_S3's Anansi materialized
argument… Without a register, each of those will be solved independently and at least one of them will
be solved with floating glyphs." This is the answer, and there are no glyphs in it.

THE ROW ITSELF NAMES THE BODY AND THE CENSUS DID NOT READ IT. display_name on this row is "Anansi
the Spider" — an archetype token, on the registry row, in the column a display lane reads. §9 files
that as a census correction. The shelf then fixes the same answer: the spider, anansi, holds on the
Gold Coast the place the tortoise holds in Slave Coast tales; the spider stories are known as
Anansi'sem; among the Tshi the spider is called Ajya Anansi, Father Anansi; and a Gold Coast tradition
holds all humankind descended from Anansi [west_africa.md §§ 5, 13; SRC_00270, ch. XIV]. THE
ATTESTED FORM ON THIS SHELF IS A SPIDER, and this sheet builds a spider in both phases. §3 declares
what it therefore does NOT build and why.
species and T0_Creature_Roster carries no spider row, so the sheet declares an archetype rather
than inventing a taxon.
the chelicerae and the pedipalps; the opisthosoma (abdomen) carries the spinnerets; the PEDICEL is
the narrow waist between them and it is a real joint with a wide range, which is what lets a
spider point its spinnerets anywhere its legs can reach.
metatarsus, tarsus. Eight legs, fifty-six leg segments, and every one of them is a named chain.
hands of the design and every conversational beat is carried on them.
claw exists to grip silk (AUTHORIAL_ANATOMY, real arachnid anatomy). He is physically built to
hold a story, and this sheet takes that literally.
femur-patella and tibia-metatarsus joints are the main flexors, each to roughly 90 to 120 degrees of
flexion with no twist axis; the coxa rotates on the prosoma through roughly 30 degrees, which is
where a leg's direction comes from; the pedicel permits roughly 60 degrees of pitch and 45 of yaw
between the two body sections; the pedipalps move through the same hinge ranges at a shorter reach.
A pose outside those planes is a solver failure and the anatomy law refuses it.
are no extensor muscles in the main leg joints; extension is driven by prosomal blood pressure while
flexion is muscular (AUTHORIAL_ANATOMY). The consequences the fight is built from: a visible PROSOMA
COMPRESSION precedes every extension, which is a universal wind-up tell readable at any scale; a
spider can flex fast and must PUMP to reach; and a spider that loses pressure cannot stand up, which
is why a dead one curls. §4 turns that into the encounter's scale rule and §6 into its telegraph.
spider's size and does not change size at any point in the encounter. On the ground the gait is the
alternating tetrapod: legs I and III of one side swing with legs II and IV of the other. On silk
there is no gait at all — he hooks the median claw and HAULS, hand over hand on eight hands, which
is a different locomotion asset from the walk and is the one the player mostly sees.
orb-weaver rest posture and reads instantly as a spider at any distance where the web reads at all.
ventilation. The kit's escalation table already declares the breath channel absent and says it
invented nothing to fill it [KIT_BE_0012_S3 § escalation]; the anatomy agrees with the kit, and
the absence is a genuine channel rather than a hole.
THE SECOND BODY IN THIS ENCOUNTER IS NOT HIS. The materialized argument is a WEB, and it takes its own
skeleton block in §5 because it is a built structure with named members, real anchors and a declared
load path.
so on first mention. The 1894 record is explicit that the spider, anansi, holds on the Gold Coast
the place the tortoise holds in Slave Coast tales, that the spider stories are known as Anansi'sem,
that among the Tshi the spider is called Ajya Anansi, Father Anansi, and that a Gold Coast tradition
holds all humankind descended from Anansi; in the same passage the Yoruba counterpart is named
plainly as the tortoise, awon, who in those tales is given superhuman powers and acts craftily
[west_africa.md § 5; SRC_00270, ch. XIV], and the 1929 collection carries nine tortoise stories to
prove it [west_africa.md § 5; SRC_00269].
Gold Coast's, encountered on a coast where another animal holds the office, and THE CONTEST CAN TURN
ON THE PLAYER KNOWING WHOSE STORY SHE HAS WALKED INTO [west_africa.md § 13; SRC_00270]. §6 builds
that as a named wager.
and craft [west_africa.md § 13; SRC_00270].
sacred orisa or a real person, and the Type-6 Trickster Puzzle materializes his ARGUMENT as a
wit-contest with a reward on win and on loss and no harm to Anansi, generalizing the Ch 69
materialized-argument precedent [CH_12.md § Decisions surfaced]. He is never demonised, never
harmed, and he cedes the road when out-thought [west_africa.md § 5].
which is right so long as the page never collapses them — a folkloric trickster of the Akan and an
honoured orisa of the Yoruba are not the same kind of being [west_africa.md § 5]. Eshu is the
honoured crossroads-messenger and opener of the way, never an antagonist; his images stand before
almost every house under a small palm-leaf roof, and the proverb explains that his house is made for
him in the street rather than indoors [west_africa.md § 5; SRC_00270, ch. III]. §7 rules how a
roadside Eshu shrine may be in frame at a crossroads and what it does there, which is nothing.
at Ch 42 as diaspora-transmission — the one trickster link here that IS a transmission claim and is
correct as one [west_africa.md §§ 5, 15; CH_12.md § Threads advancing, Thread 11].
[west_africa.md § 5; SRC_01776, p. 12], and the okyeame's staff threshold is CARE-BOUND, GEOMETRY
ONLY and never entered as a combat volume [KIT_BE_0012_S3 § the arena; EG_0198].
opening: NO HUMANOID AND NO BLENDED SPIDER-MAN FORM. The anthropomorphic Anansi is widely told in
Akan and diaspora tradition, and it is not on this shelf: what this corpus attests is the spider,
the name Father Anansi, and the descent tradition. Under the citation test that makes a humanoid
body an INVENTION dressed as a tradition's claim, which is the one thing the invention licence
forbids in both directions. The personhood the tradition does attest is built in the REGISTER
instead — he speaks, he is addressed as an elder, and the crowd treats him as one — and the
humanoid form is boarded as a Section-16-class acquisition (§9). If a cited source lands, the form
can be added to this sheet in place.
radii, spiral, hub), the mis-anchored radius, the non-sticky-radius traversal rule, the
pluck-and-listen interrogation, the prosoma-compression telegraph read as a wind-up, the dragline
concession, the telling as the wager's stake, and the tell shapes and fractions in §6.
ONE-LINE SILHOUETTE READ: a palm-sized spider hanging head-down at the centre of a web that spans the
whole road, with one radius running up into nothing.
THE CONSTRUCT REGISTER, AND THE ONE VARIATION THIS ROW ADDS. BE_0003_S3 established that a
materialized argument asks for MATERIAL rather than species, that A8 is its primary axis and A10 its
usual support, and that every semantic tell must have a physical form. All three hold here. What is
new is that the argument's material is a LIVING ANIMAL'S OWN CRAFT PRODUCT, so the encounter has both
a construct and a being, and they are cleanly separable: the web can be cut and the spider cannot be
touched.
PRIMARY — A8 MATERIAL SUBSTITUTION. The argument is made of SILK, and the register's honesty rule is
satisfied exactly: the material already exists in that place, carrying that meaning, for that
community, because this is a spider's web at a forest crossroads in the country of Anansi'sem. The
mapping is one-to-one and the player learns it without a word:
real ground, and everything else hangs off them.
hub, and they are the only threads a body can stand on: in a real orb web the radii are NOT sticky
and the spider walks them (AUTHORIAL_ANATOMY).
anything that steps where it was not shown a premise.
MECHANISM: an orb web is a real structure that stands or fails on the TENSION BETWEEN ITS PARTS, which
is what an argument is. Vril alters real physics rather than suspending it, so the materialization is
that literalised — the same silk, the same geometry, the same load path, with the premises made into
things you can put your weight on.
SUPPORTING — A1 SCALE BAND at ARENA, ON THE WEB AND NOT ON THE BEING. The band's own rule is that
anything above TRUE_SCALE states what carries the extra mass, and this is where the design refuses the
obvious and worse answer. A GIANT SPIDER IS NOT AVAILABLE HERE AND THE REASON IS ANATOMY, NOT TASTE:
leg extension is hydraulic, hydraulic pressure scales against the square-cube law, and a spider at
human scale could not extend its own legs to stand. So the being stays TRUE_SCALE and the WEB takes
the band: a span of eight to twelve metres across the road between two trees, a bridge line laid
first, frame threads to four anchors, and a sag under its own weight that is visible and correct. What
carries the extra mass is the ANCHORAGE — real trees, real ground stakes of silk, and a tension the
player can see in the frame lines. The physical consequence, stated as the axis demands: the structure
is only as true as its anchors, which is the encounter's entire win condition rendered as statics.
SUPPORTING — A10 NEGATIVE SPACE: ONE RADIUS IS ANCHORED TO NOTHING. It leaves the hub, runs out, and
terminates in air. In a real web that is impossible, and in this one it is the moved premise made
structural — the whole web hangs true-looking because every other line is doing extra work to cover
for it, and the tell is a SAG in the wrong place. A player who has looked at one real web in her life
reads it as wrong before she reads it as meaning, which is BE_0003_S3's backwards-knot rule
inherited exactly.
EMISSION: NONE, and the refusal is explicit for the same reason BE_0003_S3 recorded it. The obvious
wrong answer for a materialized-argument boss is a glowing web with floating glyphs on it, which the
element visual law bans outright. This web has no light of its own. It reads by SCATTERING — silk is
the best light-catcher in a forest and dew on it at a Guinea-belt morning is the strongest read in the
whole encounter — by wetting-darkening after rain, and by OCCLUSION as a black lattice against a
bright clearing. The design instruction to the environment lane is therefore a lighting one: give the
crossroads a low sun down the road's axis and the web draws itself.
pedicel, six spinnerets — the real inventory and no additions, because an araneomorph already has
fifty-six leg segments and adding to that is how a design admits it did not read the animal.
locomotion in this encounter and is not a walk.
orb-weaver behaviour — the animal interrogates its web by vibration because its eyes are poor —
and in this encounter it is how he reads the player's answer. It is the single most important
animation in the set.
READ AT ROAD DISTANCE, so it is built with an ARENA-SCALE CO-SIGNAL ON THE WEB and the two are one
animation event rather than a tell plus a hint. As pressure loads in the prosoma he takes up slack
through his own anchor threads: the HUB'S FREE ZONE CONTRACTS and the radii around the hub go
visibly TIGHT, so the centre of a twelve-metre structure changes shape a beat before he reaches.
That is real statics rather than a courtesy — a spider braces against its own web to move on it,
and the load has to go somewhere. THE DISTANCE TEST IS THEREFORE MET ON THE WEB'S SILHOUETTE: at
combat-camera distance the wind-up pose and the idle pose differ by a tightened hub, in black
fill, with no HUD. The 60 mm compression stays in the design as the close-range read for a player
who is at the hub, and it is a confirmation of the arena signal rather than the carrier of it.
fourteen to twenty radii, each a straight member under tension; one viscid spiral crossing them;
one hub; one free zone around the hub.
The structure's "ROM" is TENSION — each member has a slack state and a loaded state and nothing
between, which is why a web moves in snaps rather than sways.
passes into the two neighbouring radii and pulls them out of line, which is visible and is the
player's warning that she has stepped in the wrong place.
quarter of the web goes slack at once. Cut the mis-anchored radius and nothing happens, which is
the joke and the lesson.
walking a line and paying out silk, at a speed the player can interrupt.
VERBS ARE OUTWIT AND EVADE, axis 20/55/25, Puzzle-dominant. The row's counters, verbatim: read the
false premise and refuse the rigged wager; time the evade to the story-trap's turn. Two phases,
evolve-not-swap — phase 2 COMPOUNDS THE WORDPLAY-FORMS AND TIGHTENS THE WAGER WINDOWS.
THE ENCOUNTER'S STRUCTURAL IDEA: THE FIRST WAGER IS ACTUALLY FAIR. KIT_BE_0012_S3's opener is an
offer that is generous, clear and honest, and it costs nothing to hear, because the whole encounter is
that offer with a premise moved and the player can only feel the difference if she has felt the
original. Phase 1 is entirely verbal and nothing can hurt anyone. Phase 2 is the same argument with a
body: the web is up, the player is inside it, and every term she accepted is a thread she is standing
on.
WHAT IS WAGERED, because a contest with nothing at stake is the defang tell in its purest form. He
does not play for property. He plays for THE TELLING — the right to say how the story of this meeting
goes — and on this road that is not a metaphor, because a story travels faster than a traveller and
the towns ahead have already heard it. A player who takes a rigged wager and loses does not lose an
item; she arrives everywhere afterwards as a character in an Anansesem. §9 boards the fact that
nothing on the row expresses this.

ONE SHAPE, ONE ANSWER. The two weak-point shapes are distinguished by WHAT IS BEING CLAIMED — the
borrowed win claims an outcome, the borrowed story claims a category — and both are answered by
naming, which is this encounter's only strike. The two dodge-only shapes are separated by scale: the
tightening hub is a body about to move, and the web taking the road is a structure that already has.
WHAT THE REACH ACTUALLY THREATENS, STATED, because a 200 mm animal cannot menace a person's body and
the design does not pretend otherwise. HE REACHES INTO THE ARGUMENT, NOT AT THE PLAYER. An extension
carries a leg from the hub onto a radius, and what arrives at the end of it is a NEW ANCHOR, a
re-tied junction, or a strand of viscid spiral laid across the path the player was about to take. The
danger is positional and structural: the ground she was going to cross stops being walkable while she
is committed to crossing it, which is why the answer is an EVADE timed to the load rather than a
block or a parry. He never touches her, his fangs never enter the encounter, and there is no venom in
this design at any point — the harm the wager can do is done by terms and by terrain.
THE CATEGORY-ERROR WAGER IS THE ENCOUNTER'S BEST BEAT AND CANON WROTE IT. The region page notes that
the contest can turn on the player knowing whose story she has walked into [west_africa.md § 13], so
one rigged term is a proposition whose logic only works if the trickster is the tortoise — a Slave
Coast premise offered to a traveller standing in front of a Gold Coast spider. A player who has met the
tortoise cycle in the Yoruba towns can name it. A player who has not can still win by the other reads,
and the row's no-dead-end shape holds.
PART ECONOMY — HOME DECLARED: BODY, but not HIS body — the parts are the WEB's members, which makes
this the doctrine's BODY home applied to a construct rather than to a creature, and §9 boards the
distinction. Fractions are measured on the ARENA, because the web is arena-sized.
encounter, because the sag it causes is visible from the approach before any wager is offered. Break
threshold: naming it, or cutting it. Break event: nothing physical happens, which is the point — the
web does not need it, and the argument does. Permanent subtraction: the moved premise, the flattery
clause and the compounded form all stop working once the player has named a premise correctly twice
[KIT_BE_0012_S3 § part economy]. Legibility gain: the wagers get shorter.
about 0.15 of the web's silhouette. Break threshold: cut at the anchor. Break event: a quarter of
the web goes slack at once and the spiral in that quarter stops holding. Permanent subtraction: the
story-trap loses that quadrant as terrain. Material the economy wants: nothing harvested, and there
is nothing to take from a story.
fraction at all, because it is a SOUND. Break threshold: two correct namings in the crowd's hearing.
Break event: the laughter inverts, and it is audible from anywhere in the clearing. Permanent
subtraction: the borrowed win stops working, because an assertion needs a room that will accept it
[KIT_BE_0012_S3 § part economy]. THIS IS THE FIRST INSTANCE IN THE LANE and the claim is stated
narrowly: BE_0003_S3's part economy is its THREE SEVERABLE MEMBERS and it carries no audience
part at all. What that sheet has is the adjacent-but-different case — a public COLLAPSE, where the
manifested twist ends when the community hears the untwisting, so the crowd is the WIN CONDITION
there and is a BREAKABLE PART here. The doctrine's seven homes have no name for either, and §9
boards this one as an eighth candidate on one instance rather than two.
ESCALATION, FOUR CHANNELS — the kit's channels consumed and given anatomy:
and on the body that is the being turning at the hub to face outward instead of down the road.
anatomy agrees (book lungs, no visible ventilation), so the absence is honest rather than a gap.
respect and never parodied [KIT_BE_0012_S3 § the care read].
THE OPENER AND ITS VARIANTS: the root is THE FIRST WAGER, and it is the only fair one. Every later
offer is that root with a premise moved, a term nested, a window shortened, or a category swapped —
same body origin, same pedipalp gesture, one thing changed. Teaching order is a design field and this
encounter is the clearest case of it in the chapter.
THE HUD-FREE METER: THE SAG. How much of the web is hanging wrong is the score, it is visible from the
road, and it moves both ways — a named premise pulls a line true, an accepted rigged wager lets
another one go slack. pip_count and pip_reveal_threshold are EMPTY on this row and the sag is what
the design uses instead.
RELOCATION AND TURF: it ENTERS at a crossroads, which is where Anansi'sem is told. It DOES NOT
RELOCATE. It LEAVES laughing. WHAT IT DOES TO THE ARENA: it makes an audience into terrain
[KIT_BE_0012_S3 § turf]. THE KIT'S OWN LINE AT KIT_BE_0012_S3:91 ADDS "exactly as BE_0003_S3
does — the two are a deliberate pair a chapter apart", AND THAT ECHO IS A KIT-SIDE DEFECT THIS SHEET
DECLINES TO INHERIT: BE_0003_S3 does not make an audience into terrain. Its crowd is the WIN — the
manifested twist collapses when the community hears the untwisting — and its part economy is three
severable members. The two rows ARE a deliberate pair a chapter apart on the public-resolution idea,
and they are not the same mechanic. §9 boards the kit line for the combat lane.
WIN: PERCEIVE;REFUTE — the contest won, the SQ1 Anansi trickster-spine opened toward Ch 42, and Anansi
CEDES THE ROAD, never harmed [BE_0012_S3 :: win_reward; CH_12.md §10 CH12_B08 out-state
local.anansi_cedes_road]. THE CONCESSION IS ANATOMY: when the frame goes he does not fall and he is
not hurt, because a spider drops on a dragline and that is what a dragline is for. He pays out, comes
down to the road at his own size, and laughs. LOSS: the row logs the riddle-grammar and a folklore
fragment for the retry, and the story goes down the road ahead of her.
§17.1's protection is collective: the Akan community and its verbal art are protected from being
cast as villain, defamed or exterminated. The protection is discharged by AIM, and canon set the aim
before this sheet: Anansi is a folkloric trickster and not a sacred orisa or a real person, the
Type-6 puzzle materializes his ARGUMENT rather than making a monster of him, and the reward fires on
win and on loss [CH_12.md § Decisions surfaced]. Nothing in this encounter is damaged and nothing
dies.
materialized_folklore_construct. The construct is the argument; the being at itscentre is a trickster of a living cycle, held at his own tradition's shape — he wins and loses by
TERMS, he concedes gracefully, and the story ends well [KIT_BE_0012_S3 § the care read].
honoured orisa of the Yoruba and Anansi is a folkloric trickster of the Akan, and the page's rule is
that they are never collapsed [west_africa.md § 5]. A crossroads is Eshu's ground in Yoruba
thought, and the spine puts him nearby and honoured [CH_12.md § Key sites, west_african_road]. THE
RULING THIS SHEET APPLIES: a roadside Eshu shrine of the attested kind — an image before a house
under a small palm-leaf roof [SRC_00270, ch. III] — may stand in frame as honoured geography and as
the mark of whose road this is. It takes no part in the contest, it is not a mechanic, it speaks no
line, and no ability of either party acts on it. Anansi is a guest on this road and the design says
so with a shrine rather than with a sentence.

own contest is public. They are ATTENDED_DESIGN or REFERENCE_BUILT and never raw generations. The
town they come from is CARE-BOUND, GEOMETRY ONLY [EG_0182], and the okyeame's staff threshold is
hard-blocked and referenced [EG_0198].
PROHIBITION APPLIES HERE MORE THAN ANYWHERE IN THE CHAPTER: a designed mythic being never routes
through a photographic-wildlife template. The failure mode is exactly the Komodo failure with eight
legs — a macro-photography reference build would return a nature-documentary orb-weaver, which is a
real animal and not this being. The identity is the WEB AT ROAD SCALE plus a small animal at its
hub, and the plates are built to that composition.
(1) NEVER HARMED, AND HE CEDES THE ROAD. Is that a defang? The framing is CANON rather than this
sheet's reduction [BE_0012_S3 :: win_reward; CH_12.md § Decisions surfaced], but the doctrine's
defang tell hides in STAGING, so the pass is run on the staging instead and the answer is that this
encounter is harder, not softer. He can trap the player inside an argument she is standing in; the
crowd can turn on her and laugh at her rather than with her; he can DECLARE THE WAGER SETTLED
without her consent and make it stick if the room accepts it; the acceptance windows close while she
is still reading; and the stake is a reputation that travels ahead of her. A trickster with no teeth
fails this row and this one has teeth that are not fangs.
(2) THE BOLDER OPTION, CONSIDERED PROPERLY AND REFUSED. The devil's advocate argues for a genuinely
dangerous Anansi — a predator who can kill, on the grounds that care-tier inflation is a defect and
that the timid option is usually the wrong one. REFUSED, on two grounds that are not timidity.
First, canon rules the outcome and a sheet does not overturn a row. Second, and independently, a
trickster who kills is no longer a trickster — the tradition's own shape is that the spider wins and
loses by terms, and a lethal Anansi would be the western monster-spider wearing an Akan name, which
is the golden-standard mandate's named failure rather than boldness. THE BOLDNESS WENT INTO THE
STAKE AND THE STRUCTURE: the argument is a place you can be caught in, and losing costs you the
story of yourself.
(3) THE HUMANOID FORM WITHHELD. Recorded as a CITATION decision rather than a care one: this shelf
attests the spider and does not attest a human or blended body, so building one would be an
invention presented as a tradition's claim. It is boarded as an acquisition, not refused on
sensitivity, and the moment a cited source lands the form can be built.

cell. A morphology census that reads target_type and not display_name will under-report this
row and any row like it, and display_name is populated on all five BE_0012* rows.

KIT_BE_0012_S3:91 states that this encounter makes an audience into terrain "exactly as BE_0003_S3 does — the two are a deliberate pair a
chapter apart". BE_0003_S3 does not do that; its crowd hears the untwisting and the construct
collapses, which is a win condition rather than terrain. The pairing claim is true about
public resolution and false about the mechanic, and the combat lane owns the line.
