and critic-gated against its ten refusal tests. It cites canon rows and writes none. It is the CREATURE

doctrine was written to close: a real constrictor on an image_to_3d route, one careless prompt away
from a nature documentary with a health bar. § 7's route ruling is where that is answered.

CR_0075's scientific_name cell is EMPTY and its notes cell reads "multiple species," so the
registry has deliberately declined to pick. This sheet picks, because a design sheet with no
baseline has no argument to make departures from [doctrine § 2.1], and it picks the one animal that
satisfies every constraint the encounter already carries: Africa's largest snake, native to the
Congo basin's riverine forest, a habitual frequenter of watercourses that swims well and holds under
the surface, and large enough that a five-metre individual is an ordinary old animal rather than a
record. THE SELECTION IS BOARDED AS A PROPOSED ROW VALUE IN § 9 AND IS NOT WRITTEN.
the axial skeleton or to the skin.
at a record. She is met not as a length but as a STILL LINE ACROSS MOVING WATER, which is the kit's
own opener and the read the whole encounter is built on [KIT_BE_0011_S3 ability 1].
lands, per doctrine § 2.1): one skull with a highly kinetic quadrate and an UNFUSED mandibular
symphysis, so the two mandibular rami advance independently; recurved teeth on both maxillae, both
palatines and both pterygoids as well as the dentaries; roughly 280 precloacal vertebrae, each
carrying its own rib pair, plus a caudal chain of roughly 55; no sternum, so the ribs are free at
their ventral ends; no limb girdles; vestigial pelvic spurs flanking the vent, one either side,
which are the only external trace of a hind limb and are a real feature of this family; a ventral
scute per vertebral segment, each independently muscled to the ribs by the costocutaneous slips that
make rectilinear locomotion possible. **HEAT-SENSING LABIAL PITS in the upper and lower labial
scales** — a real *Python sebae* organ and the seed of § 4's mark axis.
CR_0002 § 2 iscarried forward unchanged because it is correct): each intervertebral joint carries only a few
degrees of lateral and a few degrees of vertical play, and the body's whole freedom is the **SUM of
roughly two hundred and eighty small joints** — which is why a coil is a smooth continuous curve and
never a hinge, and why an animator who poses this body as a hose has already broken it. The jaw
gapes past 120° with the symphysis spreading laterally; the quadrate swings both dorsoventrally and
laterally. The anterior third can lift its own length clear of the substrate into a held S and
maintain it. Torsion along the body is real but small per joint and large in aggregate, so a roll of
the whole trunk is a wave and not a twist. THE SOLVER REFUSES ANY POSE OUTSIDE THIS SET, and the
mesh deformation budget is engineered around it rather than used as a reason to shrink the animal's
real motion [doctrine § 2.1, the anatomy law].
the robust end of the species' build, tagged exactly as this sheet's other anatomy is, and § 9 boards
it as a proposed row value alongside the length). The band is deliberately WIDE because a constrictor
of this length spans a real range with feeding state and condition, and the lane's own precedent is
that a final figure is DERIVED from a mesh's closed volume rather than typed — CR_0002's profile
first read 228 kg against a length-mass law's 37.6 and was corrected by fixing girth, not length
[docs/DOC_MAP.md L571]. THE BAND IS THE DEMAND, NOT THE ANSWER, and the § 10 emitter owns the
answer. Distribution: mass runs continuously along the whole body, so the animal has **no centre a
player can read**, which is the single most important fact about fighting one. Indeterminate growth:
this individual has been getting larger every year of its life and has never stopped.

upstream edge, one third of it wetted to a hard horizontal boundary, one head raised and level. The
kit's own read: "the crossing, and something in it that the current is going around"
[KIT_BE_0011_S3 silhouette read].
This is doctrine part two's most important possible answer and it is available here in the region
page's own words. The Mbuti hold that the forest is GOOD: "the words of most molimo songs are few and
they say simply that the forest is good"; when things go badly "the forest has fallen asleep, so the
people sing it awake"; and a hunter's own answer about fear was that when we are the children of the
forest, what need have we to be afraid of it [central_africa_congo.md § 5; SRC_00253, p. 79, p. 86,
p. 71]. Misfortune is never an evil agent entering the trees, witchcraft is placed in the village
rather than the forest camp [SRC_00253, p. 205], and the page rules the HL_0121 answer for this
people outright: MBUTI — CONFIRMED ABSENT, "that zero is sourced, and it is the tradition's own
finding rather than a gap" [central_africa_congo.md § 5]. **SO NO FOLKLORE ATTACHES TO THIS ANIMAL,
BY EVIDENCE.** It is not a spirit, not a guardian in anyone's cosmology, and not a being with a name
in a living language. It is an animal in a river. **POSITIVE CONTROL for the citation test: those
passages are re-landable at central_africa_congo.md § 5 and at SRC_00253, p. 79 and p. 86.**
river-crossing, and the crossing is held by a great forest python coiled in the rapids — **not
malice, only the forest's own weight**, a being that can be read and passed (the clean crossing, and
the one the forest people would take) or fought in the white water if you would rather have the hide"
[CH_11.md L31]. And the beat: "read the constriction and strike lanes, step the lane on the tell or
time the crossing to the rapids' slack window, and the python withdraws: a being to be read and
passed, never an enemy to be beaten" [CH_11.md L130]. And the Thread-2 cell: "a serpent that is a
being rather than a symbol" [CH_11.md L38].

tradition carries legends of a great journey from savanna into rainforest, with the pierced azap tree
and barrier rivers crossed with the aid of giant reptiles, and a rainbow that guided the migration
[central_africa_congo.md § 15; SRC_00179, p. 91, p. 574]. That is a river-crossing-reptile motif in
this basin and it is NOT this animal's: it is Fang, it belongs to the Fang, and the region page's
standing attribution rule binds — "an Mbuti institution stays Mbuti, a Mbendjele one Mbendjele, a
Fang one Fang, and a Fjort one Fjort, even when it informs a situation somewhere else in the basin.
Nothing is transferred to fill a gap" [central_africa_congo.md § 13]. The page files the parallel
exactly as this sheet does: "the Fang migration legend's river-crossing reptiles sit beside it as the
same motif in a different people's register" [central_africa_congo.md § 15]. **THE PARALLEL IS
RECORDED AND NOT SPENT.** Likewise the region's animal-fable corpus is Fjort and routes to
Creature_Roster.folklore_attribution under the Fjort's name, "never to the Mbuti, the Baka, or the
Fang" [central_africa_congo.md § 3; SRC_01385, c88, c90, c114] — and it is not spent here either.
are recorded in the registry itself as modern Western cryptozoology constructs and expressly NOT
authentic Indigenous traditions; nothing on this shelf attests either, and they belong to SQ9 as an
authorial discourse object, never credited to any living people and never resolved into a surviving
reptile [central_africa_congo.md § 3; HL_0005]. **THIS ANIMAL IS NOT A CRYPTID AND MUST NEVER
DRIFT INTO ONE.** Its elevation is anatomical and ecological, its size band is ordinary for its
species, and no string anywhere calls it unknown, undiscovered or legendary.

tradition: the caudal holdfast and its stair of enlarged keeled scutes, the scour asymmetry and the
waterline, the healed anterior notch, the hypertrophied labial pit rows, the twelve tell shapes of
§ 6, the animal-as-obstruction reading of the ford's standing wave, and the individual's age, sex and
length.
ONE-LINE SILHOUETTE READ: **a five-metre length lying still across a rapid with the water breaking
white along one edge of it, a third of it green-black to a hard waterline, and a head that turns to a
body it cannot see.**
THE ELEVATION IS ENTIRELY ANATOMICAL, AND THAT IS A CANON CONSTRAINT RATHER THAN A PREFERENCE. The
crossing is the one combat site in Chapter 11 whose vril_density is BASELINE [CH_11.md L88;
central_africa_congo.md Zone Catalog L57] — the canopy and the ceremony ground are high, the camp is
moderate, and this ford is the flat floor. So this animal gets no vril manifestation, no world
response, no material substitution and no field. Three axes, all of them body, all of them real
physics, and the sheet is better for the constraint.
PRIMARY — **A4 HYPERTROPHY: THE ANCHOR. The animal's own most frightening fact, engineered up until it
reads at combat distance.**
A real *Python sebae* in a rapid is CARRIED BY IT. This one is not. The posterior third — the last
sixty precloacal segments and the whole caudal chain — is built into a visible holdfast:
fine one, so the last metre of the animal is the same depth as the trunk and reads as a SECOND HEAD
at distance, which is exactly the read the fight wants (§ 6, "read the tail, not the head");
bite a root fork, a rock cleft or the saturated mud of EG_0168;
CLAMP rather than a friction hold, and its loading is visible as a shortening ripple that runs from
the hold forward.
THE PHYSICAL CONSEQUENCE, STATED because square-cube and hydraulics are real: a body held rigid across
a current is a beam under continuous load, so the anterior two thirds are free to work only because the
posterior third is spending everything to stay. THE ANIMAL IS PAYING FOR ITS OWN STILLNESS, which is
why phase 2's posture channel is the coil coming off the bottom to hold itself in the current, "which
costs it and shows" [KIT_BE_0011_S3 escalation].
MECHANISM, NAMED: load-driven remodelling on an indeterminate grower. Pythons grow all their lives;
bone and muscle remodel under sustained load; this animal has held one ford against one current for
decades and has grown the holdfast that ford demanded. No magic, no vril, no exemption from physics —
the ordinary mechanism by which a body becomes the shape of the work it does, run for long enough on an
animal that never stops growing.
SUPPORTING — A5 AGE AND STATE: THE RIVER WRITTEN ON THE BODY. Nearly free, entirely light-law
compliant, and it does the work the doctrine says this axis does best — this thing existed before the
quest and will exist after it.
packed into the interscale seams, so the wetted third reads green-black and permanently
wet-darkened, while the dry length keeps the species' full brown-and-black blotch pattern edged pale.
The boundary between them is HARD and horizontal — a waterline drawn on a living animal, and it does
not move when the animal does, because the animal has lain at one depth for years.
scales are polished smooth and pattern-faded by decades of gravel-laden current running over one side
of a body that always lies the same way; the downstream flank is unworn and fully patterned. **THE
ANIMAL THEREFORE TELLS THE PLAYER WHICH WAY IT LIES BEFORE IT MOVES**, and the ford's own geometry is
legible off the hide.
knitted crooked, with pale scarring across the dorsum where it closed. The coil folds around it and
always folds the same way, so the resting shape is permanently asymmetric and the safe side of the
lane is learnable — the lane's discipline carried forward from CR_0002 § 4 because it is correct
and because a player who learned it at Chapter 2 should be rewarded for it here.
MECHANISM: forty years of one current, one lie and one old injury on an animal that never left.
SUPPORTING — A9 THE MARK: THE PIT ROWS. One high-contrast, instantly readable identifying feature,
and one is the number. *Python sebae* really carries heat-sensing pits in the upper and lower labial
scales; on this animal they are hypertrophied into a readable architecture — a row of deep black ports
along the whole length of both lips, so **the head reads at any distance as a pale wedge with a hard
black dotted line drawn along the jaw.** No emission, no glow: they are HOLES, and the read is
occlusion and shadow, which is the cheapest and most durable identity a head can carry.
AND THE MARK CARRIES THE FIGHT'S BEST FACT. It does not need to see. The player is a warm body in
cold rapid water and the animal is reading heat differential across a lip organ built for exactly
that. STANDING STILL DOES NOT WORK. BREAKING LINE OF SIGHT DOES NOT WORK. The only things that
work are the two the row already names — step the lane on the tell, or time the crossing to the slack
window — which is the counters block turned into anatomy instead of script.
EMISSION: NONE. No part of this animal emits. Every read above is wetting-darkening, occlusion,
scattering, pattern contrast, or silhouette against the river's own broken light. The glow test passes
by construction.
WHY THESE THREE AND NOT MORE. Two to four is the budget and three is what the body supports. The
composite axis is refused here for the same reason CR_0002 refused it and the reason is canon rather
than timidity: a raised humanoid forebody belongs to iconographies that attest it, and there is no
attested serpent iconography of ANY kind on this region shelf to build one from — the Mbuti verdict is
a sourced absence and the one adjacent motif is Fang and stays Fang (§ 3). Inventing a humanoid naga
for the Ituri would be pooling two peoples' registers into one basin-wide figure, which is the exact
defect the region page's attribution rule exists to prevent.
Every addition names its attachment point, its joint chain, its ROM, and how weight passes through it.
segments — NO new joint is created, and the axial chain's count is unchanged. JOINT CHAIN: the same
intervertebral series, with the same few degrees of play per joint. ROM: UNCHANGED from § 2 and
deliberately so — the holdfast is a change in CROSS-SECTION and in muscle recruitment, not in
freedom. Its expression is thickness and grip force, exactly as CR_0002's dorsal ridge is
expressed as thickness over an unchanged chain. WEIGHT PATH: the whole animal's load passes from the
anterior body, along the axial chain, into the enlarged keeled scutes of the last metre, and out
through the bank hold into EG_0168's saturated earth or a root fork — which is why the part economy
breaks the HOLD rather than the tail (§ 6), and why the mud's structural_integrity: low matters.
arrangement, each already muscled to its rib pair by costocutaneous slips. No new element; the
existing ones are deepened and keeled. ROM: the scute's own hinge against the body wall, a few
degrees, unchanged in range and increased in force. WEIGHT PATH: as above — this is the surface the
grip acts through.
SENSORY and carry no load and no articulation, so they add nothing to the rig; they deepen the head's
silhouette and darken it. Declared here explicitly so a critic can confirm the blob test rather than
infer it.
own deformation — it compresses where a coil closes and lifts where the body arches, it is wet and
specular in the water and matte the moment it leaves it. NOT a separate mesh piece, no joint, no ROM.
bias in the coil solver so the body folds the same way every time. It changes the rest pose and adds
no freedom.
body that is motionless in fast water is not a static mesh — it is a body under continuous hydraulic
load, and the read is the water's behaviour plus a slow load-shift along the trunk. Then: the
ANCHOR-SHIFT cycle, in which the tail releases, walks to a new hold and re-clamps BEFORE the head
moves; the SEGMENT-BY-SEGMENT LOAD WAVE that runs from the hold forward and is the constriction
lane's tell; the THROAT INFLATION as a single discrete visible event; and the WITHDRAWAL, in which
the still length starts moving with the water and the animal simply becomes part of the river again.
curve is the sum of hundreds of small joints, and a retarget or solver that treats this body as a
tube with an IK chain has broken it before the first frame [CR_0002_naga_tana_water_aspect.md § 2].
VERBS ARE TRAVERSE AND STRIKE, axis 25/50/25, Puzzle-forward. Two phases, evolve-not-swap: the row's
clause is TIGHTENS THE SAFE LANE — same water, same animal, less room, and then it withdraws
[T0_Boss_Encounter_Registry @ BE_0011_S3].
THE ENCOUNTER'S STRUCTURAL IDEA: THE ANIMAL IS THE FORD. The rapid's standing wave exists because
a five-metre body is lying across the channel; the safe lane exists because of where the body is not;
and the kit's own part economy says so outright — the slack window "becomes permanent once the upstream
obstruction is shifted; the crossing calms" [KIT_BE_0011_S3 part economy]. The player is not
navigating a river with a snake in it. THEY ARE READING AN ANIMAL BY READING WATER, and when the
animal leaves, the river they were reading stops existing.
| tell shape | body origin | one answer | counter class |
|---|---|---|---|
| the still length — a body in fast water that is not moving with it | the whole animal, anchored across the ford; the water breaking white along its upstream edge | nothing; free, and it tells the player exactly where the lane is before it costs anything | any (the opener) |
| the constriction lane — A TURN OF TRUNK CLOSES ACROSS THE CROSSING, read at the WATERLINE | the trunk, driven by a load wave running forward from the anchored hold; the water's break line moves with it | the row's counter — step the lane on the tell; the player already owns this shape from Chapter 2 and the chapter is counting on it | dodge_only |
| the strike — THE THROAT INFLATES ONCE, read at the HEAD; the coil does not change | the neck, from the anchored coil, with the anterior third loading in place | parry; a presented contact surface and a committed line | parry_only |
| the slack window — the standing wave at the ford flattens | the rapids' own period, not the animal at all | interrupt the crossing into the gap; the row's second counter, and composure_nodes = environmental=rapids_slack_time | trigger_interrupt |
| the drag — your own footing shifts downstream while you are standing still | the current, on a body that has stopped moving; EG_0166 and EG_0167 both carry exposure_hazard = drag | cover — get behind the animal's own break line, which is the only still water in the ford | cover |
| the anchor shift — the TAIL leaves its hold before the head moves | the caudal holdfast releasing and walking to a new bite on the bank | read the tail, not the head; free information, and the same lesson KIT_MF_CONSTRICTOR teaches on land, in a current | any |
| the submerged approach — the water's texture changes upstream of where it was | the body moving under the surface, displacing volume it is not showing | dodge; the surface is the only tell and it arrives before the animal does | dodge_only |
| the tightened lane — the safe gap is narrower than the ford is wide | the same trunk turn, closer to the only crossing point | dodge at a tolerance where stepping stops working and timing has to carry it; ability 2's root at a width | dodge_only |
| the held strike — the throat inflates AND THE HEAD IS ALREADY LEVEL | the neck, from a coil that does not reset between attempts | parry; the head-level state is phase 2's baseline, so the throat is the only remaining tell | parry_only |
| the bank pin — it anchors on the bank you came from | the holdfast taking a hold behind the player rather than ahead | cover; EG_0168's saturated mud is the pin's own weakness and the player's footing both | cover |
| the read lane — the coil's shape stops changing between cycles | the crossing's geometry, once it is understood; the animal has run out of variations | neutralize; win_condition = PERCEIVE;BYPASS;REDUCE and win_shape = passage, and this ability is two of the three | neutralize |
| the withdrawal — the still length starts moving with the water | the holdfast releasing for the last time; the body going downstream as a body in a river | has_nonkill_path = TRUE. It leaves. The crossing was never the animal's to lose | any |
ONE SHAPE, ONE ANSWER — AND THE PAIR THAT COULD COLLIDE IS RESOLVED BY BODY REGION. The lane
(dodge) and the strike (parry) both involve a head that ends up level, which is the coin flip doctrine
§ 5's one-answer test exists to catch. **THE DISCRIMINATOR IS WHERE THE TELL ORIGINATES AND THE TWO ARE
NEVER COMBINED IN ONE WIND: the lane originates in the TRUNK and is read AT THE WATERLINE — a turn of
body moving across the ford, with the river's break line moving with it. The strike originates in the
NECK and is read AT THE HEAD — a single throat inflation, with the coil unchanged.** In phase 2 the
head is already level as a baseline, which REMOVES the head from the discriminator entirely and leaves
the throat as the only strike tell — an escalation that tightens legibility rather than muddying it.
This resolution is the sheet's own and is raised to the kit lane in § 9.
THE SECOND NEAR-PAIR, NAMED AND RESOLVED THE SAME WAY: THE ANCHOR SHIFT AND THE BANK PIN. Both
begin with the identical body event — the caudal holdfast releasing and the tail walking to a new bite
— and they carry any and cover. **THE DISCRIMINATOR IS THE DESTINATION, AND IT RESOLVES DURING THE
WALK RATHER THAN AT THE RELEASE:** the tail travels visibly along the bank for a full second or more
before it re-clamps, and where it is heading is legible the whole time. Travelling AHEAD of the player
or across the ford is an ordinary re-anchor and costs nothing to watch; travelling BEHIND the player,
toward the staging point they entered from, is the pin, and the answer is cover before the clamp
lands. THE TWO ANSWERS ARE NESTED RATHER THAN OPPOSED, which is why this pair is not the coin flip
the one-answer test forbids: any here means "no answer is required," so taking cover on a
re-anchor is never wrong, merely unnecessary — the any answer is a SUBSET of the cover answer, and
a player who reads the destination late and covers anyway has lost nothing but time. The lane-and-
strike pair is not nested and is therefore resolved at the body instead; this one is, and the sheet
says which discipline it is using on each.
THE DISTANCE TEST, RUN, AND THIS IS THE HARDEST SUBJECT IN THE CHAPTER TO PASS IT. A limbless
animal lying flat in broken water is the worst case a silhouette test can be handed, and the design
answers it three ways rather than hoping. (1) THE SILHOUETTE IS NEGATIVE SPACE, NOT THE BODY: at
the shipped combat camera the animal reads as a straight dark interruption in a field of moving white,
and the white does the drawing. (2) THE WIND-UP IS A CHANGE IN THAT INTERRUPTION'S SHAPE: the idle
is one straight line; the constriction lane is that line acquiring a closing curve, and the curve's
apex moves across the frame — a large, slow, unambiguous change in the arena's own contrast. The
strike is the only vertical event in an entirely horizontal composition, because the head rises and the
throat widens. (3) THE PART BREAK IS READ ON THE LINE ITSELF: when the anchor goes, the straight
line stops being straight and starts drifting with the water, which is a whole-frame change. The head's
pit rows are the identity mark at any distance and they read as a hard black dotted line on a pale
wedge, which survives black-fill because it is a hole pattern rather than a colour.
THE DELIBERATE CROSS-CREATURE LESSON, NAMED: **this is the arc's second constrictor and it teaches the
same lane shape in a new medium.** At Chapter 2 the player learned to step a constriction lane on dry
stone against CR_0002 [BE_0002_S1_the_kelimutu_guardian.md]. Here the identical shape arrives in
moving water, where stepping is compromised by drag and the answer has to be re-earned rather than
recalled. Same shape, same answer, harder ground — which is the honest form of a returning lesson.
**BREAKABLE PARTS — DECLARED HOME: BODY PLUS AN ARENA-STATE HOME THE DOCTRINE DOES NOT ENUMERATE
(boarded, § 9).** This is the third row in this chapter needing the home declaration to be a SET rather
than a value.
the ONLY part of it reliably out of the water, clamped on the bank — roughly a fifth of the animal's
visible length and the highest-contrast piece of it, dry pattern against wet mud. Break threshold:
the hold broken, the mud undercut, or the root fork it is biting taken. BREAK EVENT, visible without
a HUD: the body loses its straight line and starts moving with the current — the still length
stops being still, which is the same readout as the withdrawal and arrives earlier. Permanent
subtraction: the constriction lane, the anchor shift and the bank pin all lose their fixed point and
leave the live moveset. Legibility gain: with no anchor there is no lane, so the ford's geometry
stops changing. **Material: patterned hide — and taking it costs the Thread-2 serpent-reverence
track, as it does everywhere else in the arc** [KIT_BE_0011_S3 part economy;
T0_Boss_Encounter_Registry @ BE_0011_S3 win_reward, DROP_BIGGAME_HIDE_MEAT].
APPLICABLE, AND THE FRACTION IS NOT THE READ — STATED RATHER THAN GLOSSED, because § 4 of the
doctrine demands a fraction and this part has no outline to measure.** A standing wave is not an
object with a silhouette; it is a moving surface, and black-filling it returns the whole channel
before and after. THE BREAK SIGNAL IS RELOCATED TO THE TWO CHANNELS THAT ACTUALLY CARRY IT.
FIRST, MOTION AND SPECULAR: the white break line spanning the channel stops pulsing and goes flat,
which is a change in the largest moving element in the frame and is visible from the bank before the
player enters the water. SECOND, AUDIO: the rapid's noise has been the encounter's constant since the
beat opened and it drops in level and loses its beat — the same channel the escalation block already
makes this animal's voice. Break threshold: the upstream obstruction shifted, which is the animal
itself. Permanent subtraction: the slack window becomes permanent rather than periodic, which removes
a timing constraint instead of a move — the RESTORATIVE-adjacent case, and the arena is BETTER after
it. Material: none harvested; the river is not a resource.
ESCALATION, ON ALL FOUR CHANNELS, obeying the tighten-don't-add clause and taking the kit's channels
as the spine [KIT_BE_0011_S3 escalation]:
and shows. It is the § 4 primary axis spending itself, and a player can NAME the change before any
meter confirms it.
visible costal motion and in a still body in moving water it is the only motion there is.
RIVER: its noise has been constant since the beat opened, and it is what changes when the animal
moves under it. (The species' real defensive exhalation — a long loud hiss — is present at close
range as the strike's own audio, and is deliberately NOT the escalation channel, so the kit's read
stands unchanged.)
lesson stops being free, which is the honest inverse of phase 1's teaching contract.
THE OPENER AND ITS VARIANTS: the root is THE STILL LENGTH — free, harmless, and it hands the player the
lane's position before anything is at stake. The constriction lane is the still length CLOSING. The
tightened lane is the same closure at a width. The bank pin is the same closure with the player on the
wrong side of it. All four are ONE BODY AND ONE ANCHOR, and the teaching order runs from a shape that
costs nothing to the same shape that costs everything.
RELOCATION AND TURF: IT ENTERS BY BEING IN THE WATER ALREADY — it does not arrive, because it lives
here. IT RELOCATES BY ANCHOR, SLOWLY, tail first, and never leaves the ford in phase 1. **IT LEAVES
DOWNSTREAM.** WHAT IT DOES TO THE ARENA: it makes one ford into a timing problem, and the river was
already doing half the work [KIT_BE_0011_S3 turf block].
WIN: PERCEIVE;BYPASS;REDUCE with win_shape = passage. The crossing opens, a fauna-substrate fragment
lands, and on the FOUGHT route the hide comes off it with a Thread-2 lore mark on the serpent track
[T0_Boss_Encounter_Registry @ BE_0011_S3]. LOSS: the constriction cadence is logged for the retry,
the beat re-runs, nothing gates.
ONE.** The doctrine is explicit: ORDINARY_FAUNA "carries no collective claim at all — hunting a game
animal touches nothing of the collective protection, and a lane must not re-apply collective
protection to game animals" [doctrine § 2.5]. CR_0001 and CR_0002 carry that rule verbatim in
their own cultural_care_register cells, "carried forward verbatim so the next lane does not
re-apply collective protection to game animals" [T0_Creature_Roster @ CR_0001, CR_0002]. This
animal belongs to no tradition (§ 3), so there is nothing here for §17.1 to protect. **THE ROW'S
care_tier IS STANDARD AND IT IS STANDARD FOR A REASON.**
fought route the hide comes off it (DROP_BIGGAME_HIDE_MEAT)."** The spine says it: fought "in the
white water if you would rather have the hide" [CH_11.md L31]. **THE ANIMAL IS KILLABLE, THE KILL
IS A FIRST-CLASS ROUTE, AND THE HIDE IS A REAL REWARD.** The Thread-2 serpent-reverence cost is the
arc's standing price on that route and is a PRICE, not a prohibition — priced here exactly as
BE_0002_S1 prices it [KIT_BE_0011_S3 care read].
TIMID LANE WOULD OVERREACH.** They are not the same sentence and the difference is load-bearing.
THE SPINE'S BEAT carries the phrase this sheet works from: the animal is "an ecological participant
and forest guardian, never a target of malice, per HL_0003/HL_0123" [CH_11.md L133]. **THE REGION
PAGE IS STRONGER AND IS QUOTED VERBATIM RATHER THAN SOFTENED INTO THE SPINE'S WORDING: "It is the
forest's own weight, not malice, and it is never a target."** [central_africa_congo.md L288-L289.] That
is a flat "never a target," not "never a target of malice," and the sheet records it in the page's
own words rather than absorbing it into the milder phrase — the divergence is boarded in § 9 beside
the verb finding. THE RULING IS UNCHANGED AND IT IS THE REGISTRY'S. The phrase — in either
wording — governs STAGING: no NPC asks the player to kill it, no bounty exists on it, no quest
objective requires its death, it is not framed as evil, and the passage route is always available and
always sufficient. IT DOES NOT GOVERN PLAYER AGENCY, because the row that owns this encounter
says so in its own win_reward cell — the hide comes off it on the fought route — and a T0 registry
row outranks a T2 region page's prose. It never hardens into an animal that cannot be killed, which
is the identical ruling CR_0001 and CR_0002 already carry in canon for the Ch-2 guardian pair,
and this sheet inherits it word for word rather than inventing a stricter one.
target_type = fauna, and ORDINARY_FAUNA is the substantive class even though ontology_class is EMPTY on both BE_0011_S3 and CR_0075 (§ 9). combat_permission is likewise
empty on CR_0075 while the chapter types this animal PERMITTED twice in its own text
[CH_11.md L61, L217] and the boss row's sources cell cites both lines. Both are boarded.
image_to_3d` on the row. The doctrine exists because that route, given "anatomically accurate,
photographic wildlife reference," produced a literal *Malayopython reticulatus* for Chapter 2 and a
nature documentary where a boss belonged [doctrine § 0]. **THIS ROW IS THE EXACT REPEAT RISK AND THE
RULE IS ABSOLUTE: no plate, conditioning image or generation request for this subject may be briefed
from a photographic-wildlife template.** The conditioning plate must be a PICKED, JUDGED CONCEPT
PLATE carrying the four designed facts — the hard waterline, the scoured upstream flank, the squared
keeled holdfast, and the black pit rows along both lips — because a plate that carries none of them
will produce a magnificent, accurate, entirely wrong animal, and the pipeline will do exactly what it
is told. The REPLICA TEST is passed by the holdfast and the waterline: no photograph of a real
*Python sebae* contains either.
authorially and credited to no living people [central_africa_congo.md § 3; HL_0005]. Nothing in
this animal's presentation — size band, bestiary text, bark, or plate brief — may read as unknown,
undiscovered, legendary or unclassified. It is a large, ordinary, named animal.
(1) win_shape = passage — IS A NON-KILL WIN SHAPE A DEFANG? RULED NO, and the doctrine already
supplies the ruler: "a guardian test is not a passive encounter — it is a HARDER encounter, because
the ruled non-kill path requires a chain of five to nine correct reads in a row and any mistake wipes
the chain," and "when a design makes a climactic opponent PASSIVE, that is a defang"
[doctrine § 2.5]. THE DEVIL'S ADVOCATE IS RECORDED FAIRLY: an animal that withdraws when read is one
step from an animal that was never a threat, and the loop's known bias is exactly this move. THE
SAFEGUARDS ARE STRUCTURAL: the animal reads heat, so hiding and stillness both fail; the drag hazard
is live on two arena rows; the tightened lane in phase 2 removes the step answer and leaves only
timing; and the kill route is fully live with a real reward. Passage is the HARDER of the two routes
and the design says so.
(2) DOES THE CHAPTER'S "NEVER A TARGET OF MALICE" LINE MAKE THIS A PROTECTED ANIMAL? RULED NO,
and this is the pass that matters most because it is where care-tier inflation would enter. The line
is a staging rule and the canon precedent is explicit in two registry cells. care_tier is STANDARD
on this row in an ELEVATED chapter, which is canon deliberately drawing the line around the human
encounters and not around this one. A lane that read "guardian" and quietly made the animal
unkillable would have contradicted the row's own win_reward, which names the hide.
**(3) IS ELEVATING THE ANIMAL AT ALL A BREACH OF THE CHAPTER'S "NO IMPORTED MALEVOLENT BEING"
RULING?** RULED NO. That ruling is about FOLKLORE — no malevolent forest-being is imported onto Mbuti
ground, because Turnbull's record holds the forest good and the biloko belong to the Mongo-Nkundo
[CH_11.md L222; central_africa_congo.md § 5]. This sheet imports no folklore whatsoever (§ 3):
the elevation is anatomy and ecology, run under HL_0002's fantasy licence for boss encounters, and
the animal is never given a cosmological meaning, a name in a living language, or a moral valence.
The ethnographic point is preserved exactly and the encounter is still a real fight.
(4) IS THE HIDE REWARD DISTASTEFUL ON A "GUARDIAN"? RULED NO. It is the row's own reward, the
spine's own framing ("if you would rather have the hide"), and the region's own register: the record
documents forest peoples killing an elephant single-handed with a short-handled spear and the whole
camp relocating to the carcass [central_africa_congo.md § 3; SRC_00253, p. 20, p. 126]. A world in
which animals are hunted, used and respected at once is the accurate one, and squeamishness about a
hide would be the rated-G failure Josh's standing calibration names.
itself, the caudal holdfast and its keeled scute stair, the waterline, the scour asymmetry, the
healed notch, the hypertrophied pit rows, the individual's age, sex, 5.2 m length and 62-78 kg mass band, the twelve tell
shapes, the animal-as-obstruction reading of the standing wave, and the anchored-idle animation
requirement. CITED: the row's verbs, counters, phases, win and death rewards; the spine's framing and
beat; the region page's ecological reading; the Mbuti sourced folklore absence; the Fang adjacent
motif held apart; the arena rows' typed properties; the baseline vril density; the cryptid
guardrail. NO CLAIM ABOUT ANY LIVING TRADITION IS MADE ANYWHERE ON THIS SHEET, because the
evidence says there is none to make.
reference or pattern token; the animal has no connection to the antagonist layer at all and is the
chapter's deliberate off-Thread-3 spread [CH_11.md L61]. HL_0006 binds on the bestiary entry and
every bark: no "tribal", "primitive", "exotic" or "world" descriptor, and the animal is never
presented as belonging to, owned by, or sent by any people. Its display name — "the python at the
crossing" — is a place description and carries nothing.
Written AFFIRMATIVELY throughout — each line names what IS in frame. Every plate in this set is
ATTENDED_DESIGN and is the conditioning input the image_to_3d route consumes, so each one carries at
least one of the four designed facts.
forest rapid in bright broken daylight, the water breaking white along its upstream edge and running
smooth downstream of it, the body wetted green-black to a hard horizontal line and fully patterned
brown-and-black above it, the head raised and level at the far bank. The stillness is the subject.
species' dark spearhead marking, and a row of deep black heat pits along the whole length of both
lips reading as a hard dotted line. Eyes ordinary and unlit.

of hard edges biting the root, dry patterned scale against wet dark mud. Close, structural, and
legible as a mechanism.
polished smooth and the pattern faded to a soft grey-brown; panel two, the downstream flank of the
same animal, fully patterned and unworn. Drawn to be read side by side.
eighty metres wide with a standing wave across it, the shifting ford's shallow line visible, two bank
staging points, closed three-strata canopy meeting overhead and daylight coming through it in
columns. No animal in frame; the water alone.
safe gap between the body and the bank drawn as a legible band of different water. The encounter's
central read as a composition problem.
matching the water it is in, the standing wave gone and the surface flat where it was. The end state
of the passage route, and the plate that teaches what winning looks like.
and no generation request in this set is briefed from a photographic-wildlife or
anatomically-accurate-reference prompt, because that route already produced this lane's founding
defect; every plate carries the waterline, the scour asymmetry, the squared holdfast, or the pit rows,
and the four together are the animal's identity; the forest over the crossing is generic Congo-basin
closed canopy built from ecology and never an identified protected site; and no plate depicts any
Mbuti, Efe or Baka person, dwelling, camp, instrument or ceremony.
Registry, kit, region-page and census implications this sheet found and did NOT write. Each names its
target.
CR_0075.scientific_name IS EMPTY while the row is the named fauna anchor of a boss encounterand the only creature row this chapter fights. PROPOSED, NOT WRITTEN: `scientific_name = Python
sebae, with the row's own notes` cell ("multiple species") amended or retained as the reason a
second Congo-basin python row may later be minted for ambient use. § 2 states the selection's
grounds. The sibling rows CR_0001 and CR_0002 both carry binomials; this one is the outlier.
CR_0075.ontology_class AND .combat_permission ARE EMPTY, while CR_0001 and CR_0002 carryORDINARY_FAUNA and PERMITTED and while the spine types this animal PERMITTED twice in its own text
[CH_11.md L61, L217]. PROPOSED: ontology_class = ORDINARY_FAUNA, combat_permission = PERMITTED.
ontology_class is EMPTY on all four BE_0011 boss rows as well — the same finding BE_0009 and
BE_0011 boarded, now confirmed on the creature side too.
CR_0075.rng_drop_anchor IS EMPTY while BE_0011_S3's own win_reward names DROP_BIGGAME_HIDE_MEAT on the fought route. CR_0001 and CR_0002 both carry that anchor on the
creature row. PROPOSED: rng_drop_anchor = DROP_BIGGAME_HIDE_MEAT on CR_0075, so the drop's home
is the creature row rather than a sentence in a boss reward cell.
CR_0075.kit_ref AND .tier_classification ARE EMPTY. CR_0001 carries KIT_MF_VARANID/APEX and CR_0002 carries KIT_MF_CONSTRICTOR/APEX; this row carries neither,
while its own trophic_role cell already reads apex and while § 6 of this sheet cites
KIT_MF_CONSTRICTOR by name as the lane this animal's tail-before-head lesson belongs to. PROPOSED,
NOT WRITTEN: tier_classification = APEX (the row's own trophic_role is the evidence, and both
siblings agree) and kit_ref = KIT_MF_CONSTRICTOR (the mundane-fauna constrictor kit the arc already
owns — distinct from KIT_BE_0011_S3, which is the boss row's encounter kit, exactly as CR_0002
carries a creature kit while its boss rows carry their own).
CR_0075.height_m AND .length_axis ARE EMPTY, AS ARE BE_0011_S3's, while this sheet authorsa 5.2 m individual and a 62-78 kg mass band that the rig, the silhouette proof and the § 10 profile
all need. PROPOSED, NOT WRITTEN: length_axis = length on both rows — **the axis cell is not
cosmetic for this subject**, because the silhouette instrument orbits a mesh about its own longest
PCA axis and a limbless body's longest axis is its length, not its height; and height_m = 5.2
carried as the length figure ONLY IF the column's semantics admit it, otherwise the length needs its
own cell and that is a column question rather than a value question. Flagged as the latter, because
guessing which one the schema means would be the false precision the column pack forbids.
CR_0075.cultural_care_register IS EMPTY while the identical rule is carried verbatim on CR_0001 and CR_0002 expressly so the next lane does not re-apply collective protection to game
animals. This row is the one where that omission is most likely to cause exactly the error the cell
exists to prevent, because the encounter's own display name contains the word "Guardian." PROPOSED:
the same text, carried forward.
mesh_tags.morphology IS EMPTY ON BE_0011_S3 while CR_0075's own mesh_tags carries "morphology":"reptile" for the same animal, and while CR_0002's equivalent boss row chain carries
it. PROPOSED: mesh_tags.morphology = reptile on BE_0011_S3, read from CR_0075. mesh_pipeline_type
is already correctly image_to_3d on both rows.
AUTHORED RATHER THAN A STALE GENERATION.** The registry reads primary_verb = traverse,
secondary_verb = strike [T0_Boss_Encounter_Registry @ BE_0011_S3]. **FOUR SURFACES CARRY
evade INSTEAD, AND THEY ARE NOT ONE SURFACE COPIED FOUR TIMES:**
(a) the region page's derived boss index — "(traverse/evade, 25/50/25)"
[central_africa_congo.md § Derived Indexes L100];
(b) **the spine's own Decisions-surfaced entry, which quotes the v2.5 Boss-structure block it
replaced: "contradicting both the CH_11.md v2.5 Boss-structure block ('Primary verb traverse…
secondary verb evade…')"** [CH_11.md L297] — so evade was the AUTHORED secondary in the
version this row was converted from, and the v3 conversion corrected the PRIMARY cell (strike →
traverse) while leaving strike sitting in the secondary;
(c) EG_0167's canonical_authority cell, which cites "docs/spine/CH_11.md L99 (BE_0011_S3, verbs
traverse and evade)" — the environment lane read the verbs as traverse/evade when it authored
the constriction-lane row, and the arena this encounter is fought in was built to that reading;
(d) the region page's § 3 prose, which states the editorial intent outright: "the primary verb was
corrected to traverse at the v3 conversion precisely so no striking action could creep in"
[central_africa_congo.md § 3, L287-L288].
The page's index block does declare itself regenerable, but (b) and (c) are hand-authored surfaces on
two different lanes, and the spine's own correction note (L297) records that the drift it fixed ran
in the OTHER direction. THE REGISTRY ROW STILL WINS AND THIS SHEET IS BUILT TO traverse/strike
— a T0 row outranks a T2 page and a spine annotation. But the finding is no longer "regenerate the
index": THIS IS THE DIRECTOR'S, and the live question is whether the v3 conversion corrected one
cell of a two-cell pair. BE_0011_S1 and BE_0011_S2 both match the registry exactly (see those
sheets' § 9), so this is one row and not a systemic page defect.
BESIDE IT.** central_africa_congo.md L288-L289 reads, verbatim: "It is the forest's own weight, not
malice, and it is never a target." The spine's beat reads "never a target of malice"
[CH_11.md L133]. The registry row's own win_reward reads "on the fought route the hide comes off
it (DROP_BIGGAME_HIDE_MEAT)" and the spine's body prose offers the fight "if you would rather have
the hide" [CH_11.md L31]. A flat "never a target" and a first-class kill route with a hide drop
cannot both be read literally. **THE REGISTRY ROW WINS, THE SHEET IS BUILT TO IT, AND § 7 RULES THE
PAGE'S PHRASE AS A STAGING RULE** — but the page's wording is stronger than the ruling it is being
given, it sits on the same page and one line from the verb divergence, and a later lane reading only
the page would come to the opposite conclusion. Raised as a wording alignment for the page owner, not
written from here.
KIT_BE_0011_S3 abilities 2 and 3 read as "the coil tightens one turn and the head drops level"
(dodge_only) and "the head levels and the throat inflates once" (parry_only) — two tells that
both end with a level head and carry two different counter classes. § 6 resolves it by BODY REGION
(trunk-at-the-waterline versus neck-at-the-head, never combined in one wind) and proposes the kit
adopt the same discriminator in its tell shape column. Not a disagreement about the fight; a hazard
in how it is written down.
BODY PLUS AN ARENA-STATE HOME THE DOCTRINE DOES NOT ENUMERATE. The ford'sstanding wave is CLEARED rather than broken, it lives in the arena rather than on the animal, and it
makes the arena BETTER — which is the RESTORATIVE case's logic applied to an environment rather than
to a creature. Third of three rows in this chapter needing the home declaration to be a SET rather
than a value, which BE_0011 boarded first; the two new home candidates this chapter produces are
FORMATION (from BE_0011_S1) and ARENA-STATE. The doctrine lane owns both edits.
generation_licence_ref AND regeneration_trigger ARE EMPTY ON BOTH CR_0075 AND BE_0011_S3, AND THIS IS THE ONE DEBT ON THIS SHEET THAT IS NOT BOOKKEEPING.** CR_0001 and CR_0002 — the two
rows whose generations produced the documentary lizard and the documentary python that this entire
doctrine exists to prevent — both carry populated generation_licence_ref
(docs/licence_records/T0_Creature_Roster/CR_000N.json) and a populated regeneration_trigger.
THIS ROW, WHICH IS THE SAME DEFECT'S EXACT REPEAT RISK, CARRIES NEITHER. § 7's route rule — no
photographic-wildlife template, ever, and the conditioning plate must carry the four designed facts —
currently lives only as prose in a proposal-tier sheet, and prose does not reach a generator.
PROPOSED, NOT WRITTEN, on BOTH rows: a generation_licence_ref record whose conditioning-requirements
block names (1) the no-photographic-wildlife-template bar by name, and (2) the four designed facts as
REQUIRED conditioning content — **the hard waterline, the scoured upstream flank, the squared keeled
holdfast, and the labial pit rows** — so a request missing them is refusable at the licence layer
rather than at a critic's eye; plus a regeneration_trigger carrying at minimum the sibling rows'
own clause (licence demotion, previz basecolor replaced by authored maps, any change to a hashed
request axis) EXTENDED with a fourth trigger this subject needs: **any change to the four designed
facts, because they are the identity and a regeneration that drops one produces a correct animal and
a wrong asset.** The route rule needs a durable anchor, not a paragraph.
AND ON THIS ROW IT IS THE COSTLIEST OF THE THREE.** docs/DOC_MAP.md L571 names the emitter
(harness/asset_factory/emit_creature_physical.py), records CR_0002's § 10 as "the TEMPLATE every
Ch 5-13 sheet inherits," and states the count: 1 profile landed, 28 named gaps, with the gallery
rendering a NAMED GAP row for any sheet without one. This is the chapter's only creature row, it is
the one subject here with real weak and strong zones (the healed notch, the holdfast, the throat),
and the § 10 grid would resolve them against the material-interaction table rather than by opinion —
exactly as it resolved CR_0002's mineral-crusted ventral seam and its healed spinal break. It is
recorded rather than improvised because § 10 derives mass from a mesh's own closed volume and no mesh
exists yet (generation_status = pending on both rows). § 2's declared 5.2 m and 62-78 kg are the
DEMAND SIDE of that profile and are not a substitute for it.
hitzone_parts EMPTY on this row, as on every row the lane has read. Recorded for the count.census_CH_11.jsonrecords for all three rows that "no T0_Creature_Roster creature_name or scientific_name resolves
whole-word within the first 12 tokens of this row's name-bearing fields," and the parenthetical shows
the field set actually scanned was target_type alone — ('fauna') for this row, ('oppressor_apparatus')
and ('colonial_apparatus') for its siblings. For BE_0011_S3 the row's own boss_name is "The
Ituri River-Crossing Forest-Python Guardian" and its display_name is "the python at the crossing",
and the region page binds CR_0075 to this boss id explicitly in prose. **CLASS B WOULD HAVE FIRED
had boss_name/display_name been in the name-bearing set — and it would have returned a roster row
whose scientific_name IS EMPTY**, which is the finding that matters and which the census's own
wording currently hides behind a field-selection artefact. The correction is small and the payoff
measurement it feeds is not: this is a class-B row whose surface exists and carries nothing. Raised
to the census lane; nothing written.
