encounter stands on): discontent reached its apex at the turn of the century with revolts north of
Libreville, at Lambarene, around Sindara, on the Ngounie, on the upper Como and above Ndjole, and
only three revolts of any importance occurred after 1905, the effective date of pacification; and the
commercial machinery behind the violence is documented from the colonizer's own archive — a trader
representing a European house took one side of an 1894 outbreak and killed two Fang, embroiling the
administration for more than a year and leading to burned villages and official reprisals, and the
state had to be reminded by its own ministry of its primary responsibilities to the merchants
[central_africa_congo.md § 6; SRC_00179, p. 61, p. 64]. The region page calls this "the extraction
economy's ordinary machinery… the honest historical seam into this chapter's boss," and it is the
only period-conflict material this sheet is entitled to stand on. **POSITIVE CONTROL for the citation

whole difference between his wear-state and Dupont's, and § 4 spends it.
returns to deep forest, and the third is olele-afan, soft fast-growing firewood trees choked with the
saw vine fefole (Scleria ovigera) and the spiny asar [central_africa_congo.md § 2; SRC_00179,

the kit has him driving the player into it [KIT_BE_0011_S1 ability 7]. A clearing's age is readable
from its plants — so the player can see, without a line of narration, how recently this line was cut.
this forest "vision is so limited that a person raised there has no need to make an automatic
allowance for distance when judging size" [central_africa_congo.md § 1; SRC_00253, p. 226]. And its
behavioural counterpart, which inverts his profession: there are buffalo and leopard that attack
without question if come upon unawares, "so people walk in single file, shout, sing, and clap as they
go, and are silent only when actually hunting" [central_africa_congo.md § 3; SRC_00253, p. 57].
NOISE IS THE FOREST'S SAFETY PROTOCOL AND SILENCE IS ITS HUNTING PROTOCOL — and his cordon is a
silent line of men standing still. He has organised his ground on exactly the wrong principle for it,
and nobody has told him.

folklore attribution, and has no folklore_behavior_substrate to read. The doctrine's part two
therefore resolves as an ATTESTED ABSENCE rather than a thin block, and the sheet says so
affirmatively.
drill-set and sabre-set trained ranges, the forest-illiteracy read, the spacing-as-body idea, the
absent-mark discipline as applied here, the twelve tell shapes of § 6, the FORMATION part home, the
porters' staging, and the wear-state described in § 4.
ONE-LINE READ: **a man who is drawn to a spacing — the only thing in the Ituri standing in a straight
line, and he put it there.**
THE POLE, NAMED: CORRUPTED-AND-KNOWING, the register's third [doctrine § 3A.1]. Nothing was taken
from him and nothing was offered. He is not deceived — he knows what the cordon is for, because he
built it and he inspects it. He does not justify himself, because a professional does not argue with
the work. The doctrine's own reading of this pole is the design instruction: "nothing was taken from
him, so an elevation grammar built for bodies has nothing to grip, and the read moves onto THE WORLD'S
BEHAVIOUR AROUND a body rather than onto anything on it." For BE_0008 that world was a fleet. HERE IT
IS A FORMATION, and the formation is made of people — which is why the read is located in the
GEOMETRY (spacing, interval, facing) and never in the character of the men standing in it. **THE POLE'S
CHECKABLE LAW ON THIS INSTANCE: he is never given a line of self-justification, never given a threat,
and never given a cruelty performed for the player's benefit. He corrects a spacing. That is the
character, and it is worse than any of the three.**
PRIMARY — A4 HYPERTROPHY AND ATROPHY, APPLIED AS CRAFT: THE DRILL BODY AND THE MISSING FOREST BODY.
neck built by two decades of a carried long arm and a head brought down to a sight; the right
shoulder as a flat platform; the sabre forearm and wrist; feet and calves made by marching on made
ground. He is physically the most capable man in the encounter and the fight must respect that.
measured, straight ground, in a forest whose own people never needed a distance calibration at all
[central_africa_congo.md § 1; SRC_00253, p. 226]. He does not read litter, does not read a
regrowth stage, does not know that standing silent in a line is the local signature of a predator.
MECHANISM: twenty years of one training on one kind of ground, in a place that trains the opposite.
It is not a weakness the design gives him — it is a specialisation, and specialisation has a cost.
IS THE HARDEST THING IN THE CHAPTER SO FAR; ONE STEP OFF IT HE IS WORSE THAN THE MEN HE COMMANDS.**
Phase 1 is fought on his ground and the player cannot win it by being better; phase 2 exists because
the line broke and took the ground with it.
SUPPORTING — EQUIPMENT: TWO WEAPONS FROM TWO CENTURIES ON ONE MAN, AND THE FIGHT IS THE SWITCH.
A carbine that belongs to the section and is fired on his call, and a sabre that belongs to him and is
never fired at all; a holstered sidearm he reaches for late; and a whistle on a lanyard that is the
only instrument in the encounter that commands other bodies [KIT_BE_0011_S1 abilities 2, 8, 11, 6].
MECHANISM: an institution that issues its coercion by volley and its officers by tradition. The read
the design wants is that the moment the whistle stops working, the century he actually belongs to is
the older one.
SUPPORTING — A10 NEGATIVE SPACE: THE ABSENT OCCUPATIONAL MARK. The register's hardest discipline
and it is imported from the fourth pole's law because it generalises: THE CORRUPTION IS NOT VISIBLE ON
HIS FACE. No scar, no brutality written into the features, no sinister asymmetry, no trophy, no
insignia of atrocity. His hands are clean and evenly callused by one rifle and nothing else. What is
MISSING is the mark a player's eye is trained by every other game to look for, and the absence is the
read: a man who looks corrupt has been let off, and this one has not been. MECHANISM: subtraction of a
visual cue the medium supplies by default. It costs no asset and it is entirely light-free.
SUPPORTING — A5 STATE: HE IS IN THE HEAT. EG_0169's exposure_hazard = heat is real for him,
and this is the exact axis on which he differs from his own station-master, who arranged a shaded deck
and a covered approach [BE_0011_baron_dupont.md § 4]. Deprez has arranged NOTHING for himself. The
uniform is maintained past the point the climate allows — buttoned, salt-ringed at the collar and
back, mud to the knee, the boots resoled and the leather blooming. He sweats and does not acknowledge
it. MECHANISM: an appearance standard set in one climate and enforced in another by a man who will not
be the one to relax it.
EMISSION: NONE. Nothing on this subject emits. The station's only light source is the
main-boss encounter's mounted lamp and its combustion is priced there [BE_0011_baron_dupont.md § 4].
HOW THE REPLICA TEST RESOLVES IN THIS REGISTER, STATED SO A COLD CRITIC DOES NOT HAVE TO INFER IT.
The test asks whether a photograph of the real subject could satisfy the sheet. Under the human
register the answer cannot come from anatomy, because the register's first rule forbids anatomical
elevation and a distorted human body is the horror-monster road [doctrine § 3A]. It comes instead from
CALIBRATION AND ARRANGEMENT: no photograph contains an invariant stride, a spacing correction, a
formation held at a fixed interval by one man's habit, or the deliberate ABSENCE of an occupational
mark — those are behaviours and negatives, and they are the four things this design is made of. A
photograph of a soldier standing in a clearing satisfies nothing on this sheet.
outside § 2's declared human ranges. The blob test passes because there is nothing to blob.
surface in the arena — cleared dirt, saturated mud (EG_0168, `ambient_state_gift =

not, and it must be visible in silhouette at the distance the player first sees the cordon from.
man, moves him a half pace, and walks on. It is a two-body interaction animation and it is the
single most important asset on this sheet.
BE_0011 and drivenfrom the same clock, because the main-boss row's own escalation clause is that the station alarms

onto EG_0154 or the forest above the cordon in any phase, at any difficulty [EG_0154].
VERBS ARE STRIKE AND PARRY, axis 45/25/30, Patterns-forward. Two phases, evolve-not-swap: the row's
clause is TIGHTEN AND IMPORT, never a new pattern set [T0_Boss_Encounter_Registry @ BE_0011_S1].
THE ENCOUNTER'S STRUCTURAL IDEA: **PHASE 1 IS A FIGHT AGAINST A SHAPE AND PHASE 2 IS A FIGHT AGAINST
A MAN, AND THE SHAPE IS THE HARDER OF THE TWO.** The player does not out-fight the cordon; they take
its geometry apart — the interval, the reload gap, the converging pair — and the duel that follows is
what is left of a system when its system is gone. This is the chapter's thesis at sub-boss scale, one
beat before the main boss states it at station scale.
| tell shape | body origin | one answer | counter class |
|---|---|---|---|
| the post check — he walks his own line and moves one man a half pace | his own gait, uninterrupted; no weapon leaves its carriage | nothing; it is free, and it teaches that the cordon is HIS and has a shape | any (the opener) |
| the called line — the section stops moving and levels together on his call | shoulders squaring in unison, muzzles rising on one beat, the line's own walk cycle ending | the row's counter — canopy cover or a dodge-roll; the volley is one sound and one moment | cover |
| the reload — the rifles come down together | the section's rhythm, not his; hands going to belts along the whole line | the gap the whole phase is built on, and it is free to see | any |
| the converging pair — the posts either side of a breach step inward | two men leaving a fixed spacing at the same instant, which is the only time the spacing ever changes | cover, and then leave through the gap they just opened behind themselves | cover |
| the bayonet line — THEY STOP SHOOTING and close with fixed steel | muzzles dropping to a level carry, the whole line's weight coming forward | parry; a presented contact surface, and it is the shape the volley cannot follow | parry_only |
| the whistle — a signal that is not on the patrol's beat | his own breath and one hand to the lanyard; nothing else on him moves | neutralize — break the instrument or break the interval it references | neutralize |
| the regrowth drive — he gives ground toward the thicket margin instead of the palisade | his feet, angling; he is steering rather than advancing | dodge, and refuse the margin; EG_0173 is CONSTRICTION class and enemy_usable = TRUE, and he knows the saw-vine belt is worse to fight in than the open | dodge_only |
| the sabre lunge — the rear heel lifts AND THE POINT DROPS | rear leg loading, hips closing, the point falling as the weight goes forward | dodge; a whole-body commitment, and the one thing here that cannot be met | dodge_only |
| the riposte trap — the rear heel lifts AND THE POINT DOES NOT DROP | the same load, aborted; the weight stays back and the guard stays closed | parry; the trap is a parry waiting for a parry, and the answer is to meet it anyway | parry_only |
| the imported cadence — his exchanges arrive on the interval the cordon was walking | his own tempo, borrowed from a formation that no longer exists | neutralize by timing; the read is the interval, learned free in phase 1 | neutralize |
| the sidearm — his off hand leaves his guard | the holster, at a range where the sabre is useless | cover | cover |
| the reversal — he stops ON the beat instead of between beats and offers the sabre | the whole body settling; the first time his cadence is used to end something | win_condition = REDUCE; the offer stands and refusing it costs nothing | any |
ONE SHAPE, ONE ANSWER — AND THE ONE PAIR THAT COULD COLLIDE IS RESOLVED AT THE POINT. The lunge and
the trap share a root and a rear-heel lift, which is exactly the coin-flip the doctrine forbids. THE
DISCRIMINATOR IS THE SABRE POINT AND NOTHING ELSE: the point drops to dodge, the point holds to parry,
and the two are never combined in one wind. It is a single high-contrast element at the end of a long
straight object, which is the most readable thing a silhouette can carry, and it is the reason his
weapon is a sabre rather than a club.
THE DISTANCE TEST, RUN. Black-filled at the beat's opening camera, the idle is a line of evenly
spaced verticals with one vertical a pace in front of them; the wind-up is that front vertical dropping
its rear heel and extending a long thin element forward from the hip line, or the whole line's
verticals thickening as muzzles come level. Both are distinguishable from the idle in silhouette alone
and neither needs a colour, a highlight or a HUD. The cohesion part's break reads as the loss of even
spacing, which is a silhouette change across a third of the frame; the whistle's break is relocated to
the audio channel and to a posture change, and § 6's part block says so rather than claiming a
silhouette fraction the object does not have.
THE CROSS-CREATURE LESSON THIS SHEET IS TEACHING, NAMED: **the called line is taught here by a CROWD
and answered later on a SINGLE BODY** at BE_0011's third phase, where the same squaring of the
shoulders arrives from a fencing guard instead of a rifle stance [BE_0011_baron_dupont.md § 6]. A
player who reads this section reads the station-master without being told, and the row's own
evolve-not-swap clause is the canon that requires it.
**BREAKABLE PARTS — DECLARED HOME: FORMATION (a home the doctrine does not yet enumerate, boarded in
§ 9) PLUS EQUIPMENT.** None of them is on his body, and the doctrine's own enumeration assumes one
home per row, which BE_0011 already boarded as needing to be a SET rather than a value
[BE_0011_baron_dupont.md § 9]. Silhouette fractions are measured against the ARENA, per the
doctrine's VEHICLE precedent, because a formation is an arena-scale object.
element in the frame — an unbroken line of standing verticals at fixed interval spanning the full
width of the cleared approach, roughly a third of the arena's visible span at the beat's opening
camera. Break threshold: enough posts down, turned or displaced that the interval stops being
regular. BREAK EVENT, and it is visible without a HUD: the spacing goes ragged along the whole run at
once — the line's verticals stop being evenly spaced, which is a silhouette change a player reads
instantly because regularity is the only thing the eye has been tracking. Permanent subtraction: the
called line, the converging pair and the bayonet line all leave the live moveset. Legibility gain:
the volley stops being simultaneous, which is AUDIBLE before it is visible. Material: nothing
harvested.
its break were read on the object. IT IS NOT. Break threshold: taken, cut or silenced. BREAK EVENT
IS RELOCATED TO A CHANNEL THAT CARRIES: the sound stops, and he has to SHOUT — and shouting changes
his silhouette, because the head comes up and the chest fills and the invariant carriage breaks for
the first time in the encounter. Permanent subtraction: the whistle and the imported cadence lose
their reference. Legibility gain: shouting is slower than the beat he was using, so the interval
loosens and the player gains time. Material: nothing harvested.
ESCALATION, ON ALL FOUR CHANNELS, obeying the tighten-don't-add clause and taking the kit's channels
as the spine [KIT_BE_0011_S1 escalation]:
been the encounter's metronome, stops. It is the clearest phase announcement in the chapter and it
needs no meter.
player learns the escalation is coming from the men and not from him. His own breath is the control
variable and does not change.
argues, so what the voice carries is corrections and names of posts, and it gets louder as the
formation stops being able to hear a signal.
being free, which is the honest inverse of phase 1's teaching contract.
THE OPENER AND ITS VARIANTS: the root is THE POST CHECK — free, harmless, and it hands the player the
cordon's whole geometry before anything is at stake. The converging pair is the post check performed
under pressure. The called line is the post check's spacing used as a firing line. The imported cadence
is the post check's interval inside one man.
RELOCATION AND TURF: HE ENTERS on his own cordon. HE RELOCATES ALONG IT and never off it in phase 1 —
which is why the player's advantage is dragging him off it, and why doing so is earned rather than
given. HE LEAVES BY STOPPING. WHAT HE DID TO THE ARENA HE DID BEFORE THE CHAPTER STARTED: he drew it —
the posts, the spacing and the lane are his, and breaking the line is what makes phase 2 exist at all
[KIT_BE_0011_S1 turf block].
THE PORTERS, WHICH ARE THE BEAT'S WIN AND ARE STAGED HERE AND NOWHERE ELSE. The row's win_reward and
the spine's beat objective both say the win frees the pressed porters his line coerces
[T0_Boss_Encounter_Registry @ BE_0011_S1; CH_11.md L140]. THE STAGING RULE: they are present from
the first frame, under load, inside the cordon, and the player SEES WHAT THE LINE IS FOR before they
fight it — a fence whose points all face inward. When the cohesion part breaks, THEY WALK OUT ON THEIR
OWN. There is no rescue cutscene, no escort, no follow-AI, and no thanks. The line was a shape; when
the shape stopped holding, the people left. That is the chapter's own thesis rendered at the scale of
one part-break, and it is the design's answer to the rescue-object failure BE_0011 § 7 names.
WIN: REDUCE. He stops, and stopping is a professional's last professional act rather than a mercy the
game grants him. LOSS: his patrol cadence is mapped for the retry, the beat re-runs, and nothing gates
[T0_Boss_Encounter_Registry @ BE_0011_S1].
farming communities, and every ceremony, ceremonial object and ritual specialist in this chapter are
inviolate and are never combat targets; combat routes entirely through the Free State extraction
apparatus and its enforcers plus the permitted forest-python crossing [CH_11.md L217;
central_africa_congo.md § 6; HL_0003; HL_0123]. This encounter is the positive form of that
rule: the target is a European NCO and the coercion instrument he maintains.
oppressor_apparatus, care_tier = elevated`. Deprez is FULLY KILLABLE. §17.1 protection is
COLLECTIVE — it protects communities from being cast as villain, defamed or exterminated, and it
makes no claim whatever about a Force Publique adjudant [HL_0003; HL_0123; doctrine § 3A.3].
Combat against the Leopold-era occupier and the extraction machine is first-class per ruling 5
[CH_11.md L217]. The section are combatants and are killable without qualification. ontology_class

Force Publique's rank-and-file are conscripted men whose discipline breaks under pressure, "and it is
not a moral judgement on them" [KIT_BE_0011_S1 care read]. THE ROUTING RULES THAT FOLLOW: (1) the
ENCOUNTER's antagonist is the adjudant and the concession system above him, never the men on the
line; (2) no man in the section is given a named people, a language, a home community or an
ethnographic marker of any kind, because the Free State shelf is empty and inventing one would put a
named living community into either the coercing or the coerced position on no evidence
[central_africa_congo.md § 16]; (3) the section's break is staged as men leaving, not as a rout
played for comedy or contempt; and (4) they are still shooting at the player and killing them is
permitted and unremarked. The unblock is named in § 3 and § 9 rather than treated as a wall.
individuals with loads and faces, they are given NO collective label, and NO Mbuti, Efe or Baka
figure appears in this encounter as a victim, captive, casualty, escort or quest object — because the
chapter's own thesis is that the forest peoples persist entirely outside this man's comprehension and
are not saved by the player [CH_11.md L31; BE_0011_baron_dupont.md § 7].
Leopold II, the concession companies, the Force Publique and the record Casement made of them, is
never displaced onto a fictional agency, and is never conflated on any player-facing surface with the
arc's own reading of corruption [CH_11.md L217; central_africa_congo.md § 11; HL_0109]. Deprez
is fictional and composite; no player-facing string attributes his cordon, his conduct or his orders
to a named historical person, unit or company.
"brutal colonial soldier" prompt is precisely where a generator's stock villain lives, and a stock
villain hands him the sinister face this design is built to withhold. **NO PLATE IN THIS SET MAY BE
BRIEFED FROM A VILLAIN, TYRANT, SADIST, BRUTE OR EVIL-COLONIST PROMPT OF ANY KIND**, and no plate may
reproduce a real historical person, real insignia, a real unit marking or a real document. Separately
and absolutely: no plate or asset in this encounter depicts Mbuti, Efe or Baka persons, dwellings,
camps, instruments or ceremonies.
cast as the coercion instrument is the section itself. The tool applied is REFRAME, not removal: the
men stay, the fact of conscription stays, and what moves is the AIM — the encounter's antagonist is
the geometry and the man who maintains it. Nothing was cut.
(1) NO STAGED MUTILATION. The kit's standing is that the pressed labour of the rubber system is
present as the station's function and its records, never as depicted mutilation
[KIT_BE_0011 care read, inherited]. THE DEVIL'S ADVOCATE IS STRONG AND IS RECORDED FAIRLY: this is
a rated-M AAA game, Josh's standing law is that erring toward omission is the MORE costly error, and
a coercion post at which nobody is visibly harmed is arguably a sanitised rendering of the single
worst-documented atrocity of the period — which would be a §17.1 failure in the other direction,
since scrubbing is exactly what the region page refuses elsewhere when it carries the Ngi ordeal
material at full weight [central_africa_congo.md § 6; SRC_00179, p. 244]. **RULED: the standing
holds, AND THE SHEET MOVES BOLDER RATHER THAN LEAVING IT.** What is refused is one thing only — the
reproduction of a specific documented mutilation on an anonymous body as set-dressing, which on a
shelf with zero Free State substrate would ALSO be an uncited historical claim. What is added in its
place is weight that costs nothing in evidence: the porters are visibly under load and visibly unable
to leave, the cordon's points face inward, the section's own casualties stay on the ground after the
fight, and the ledger the next beat has the player carry is the arithmetic of all of it
[KIT_BE_0011_S2 ability 4]. The refusal is a deferral with a named unblock (§ 3), not an omission.
(2) A SUB-BOSS WHO SURRENDERS. Is win_condition = REDUCE with a reversed sabre a defang?
RULED NO. The devil's advocate is right that a boss who quits can read as the game flinching. It is
kept because the row's own win_condition is REDUCE and because the offer is not a gate: the HP finish
is fully live, refusing the reversal costs the player nothing, and killing him after it is offered is
permitted and unremarked. A professional stopping is a characterisation, not a mercy mechanic.
(3) THE CONSCRIPT FRAMING. Does making the rank-and-file coerced men soften the fight? RULED NO,
and the opposite: HL_0123 delivers maturity as WEIGHT AND CONSEQUENCE rather than as a kill-ban, and
a line of men who are there under pressure and who break under it is heavier than a line of
interchangeable enemies. They still shoot, they are still killable, nothing is gated.
(4) THE FOREST-ILLITERACY READ. Does giving him a specialisation cost make him less dangerous?
RULED NO. The cost never shows on his own cordon, which is where phase 1 is fought and where he is
the hardest opponent the chapter has produced. It shows only if the player takes him off his ground,
which is a player-earned advantage rather than a designed weakness — and it is the mechanically
honest expression of a man whose whole competence is a made surface in a place that has none.
**(5) THE NO-NAMED-PEOPLE RULE ON THE SECTION AND THE PORTERS, RECORDED AS A PASS RATHER THAN
ASSUMED AS A COURTESY** — because it IS a reduction and the doctrine's timid test says a reduction
carries a recorded devil's-advocate pass or it does not stand. THE DEVIL'S ADVOCATE, CALIBRATED
AGAINST OVER-CONSERVATISM AND IT IS THE STRONGER ARGUMENT ON ITS FACE: TRUE HISTORY IS NEVER HIDDEN.
The Force Publique's rank-and-file composition is one of the most important facts about the
institution, and a coercion post whose only identified bodies are European reads as a sanitised
picture in which colonialism had no local machinery — which is itself a distortion, and Josh's
standing law is that erring toward omission is the more costly error, not the safer one.
RULED: DEFERRAL, NOT OMISSION, AND THE DIFFERENCE IS CHECKABLE. The FACT is carried — the sheet
states plainly that the rank-and-file are conscripted men under a European NCO, per the kit's own
care read — and what is withheld is the assignment of a NAMED LIVING PEOPLE to the coercing or the
coerced role, on a shelf whose Free State probe returns nothing at all
[central_africa_congo.md § 16]. Naming one today would not be bold; it would be an invented
ethnography with a real people's name on it, which HL_0002's floors-1-to-3 rule bars outright and
which is the failure mode §17.1 is actually about. **THE UNBLOCK IS NAMED AND IS A DISPATCH, NOT A
WALL:** the deep-research pass this sheet asks for in § 3 and § 9 supplies the composition, and when
it lands this rule is lifted and the section and the porters are authored at full historical
specificity. The deferral is dated to the evidence, not to the sensitivity.
trained ranges, the invariant stride, the spacing-correction opener, the forest-illiteracy read, the
absent-mark discipline as applied here, the declared height and mass bands of § 2, the two-weapon
century read, the wear-state, the twelve tell
shapes, the FORMATION part home, and the porters' walk-out staging. CITED: the row's phases, verbs,
counters, win and death rewards; the beat objective; the clearing's heat; the forest's short
sightline; the noise-and-silence protocol; the efak regrowth belt; the Gabon colonial-conflict record;
the canopy's hard-blocked status. **NOTHING HISTORICAL ABOUT THE CONGO FREE STATE IS EITHER CITED OR
INVENTED HERE**, because the first is impossible on this shelf and the second is barred by the
region page's own rule.
reference, crest, cipher or pattern token. The player perceives a colonial cordon and nothing behind
it; the operative above him is UNAWARE and the family is never shown [CH_11.md L100, L252;
HL_0043]. His orders reach the station and stop there — no document, bark, badge or signal in this
encounter may gesture at anyone above the station-master. HL_0006 binds on every string: the peoples
of this chapter are self-named and no "tribal", "primitive", "stateless" or "exotic" descriptor
appears anywhere in this encounter's text, including in his own voice.
Written AFFIRMATIVELY throughout — each line names what IS in frame, because the art graph zeroes its
negative conditioning.
spacing across a cut clearing at the edge of closed equatorial forest, seen along the line's own
axis; period iron and canvas, a timber palisade behind, hard midday sun on the cleared ground and
deep green shade beyond it. The regularity is the subject.
heavy-boned, in a buttoned uniform salt-ringed at the collar and mud to the knee, standing at even
weight on both feet one pace forward of a line of men, a sabre at the hip and a whistle on a lanyard
at the chest. Calm, plain features, clean hands. Competence is the whole expression.
half pace of ground, the rest of the line holding its spacing behind them. Two figures, one
correction, the ordinary sun.
player's eye height, with the point held level; the same pose repeated in a second panel with the
point dropped. The two panels are the encounter's whole discriminator and are drawn to be compared.
enclosure looking out, porters under load in the foreground carrying toward the station, the points
of the line facing inward. Establishes what the line is for.
stage — fast soft firewood trees, dense creeper, the spiny understory — with the cleared ground's
straight cut edge running past it. Establishes EG_0173 and the clearing's readable age.
directions, rifles at three different heights, the porters walking out through the gap. The break
event, drawn as a silhouette problem.
THE HARD RULES ON THIS SET: every figure is fictional and composite and is stated as such on the
brief; no plate reproduces a real person, real insignia, a real unit marking or a real document; no
plate depicts any Mbuti, Efe or Baka person, dwelling, camp, ceremony or instrument; and no plate is
briefed from a villain, tyrant, sadist, brute or evil-colonist prompt of any kind.
Registry and doctrine implications this sheet found and did NOT write. Each names its target.
mesh_pipeline_type EMPTY and mesh_tags.morphology EMPTY on BE_0011_S1, while the row's own main boss BE_0011 carries mesh_pipeline_type = metahuman and mesh_tags.morphology = bipedal on
an identically-shaped subject in the same encounter. PROPOSED, NOT WRITTEN: `mesh_pipeline_type =
metahuman, mesh_tags.morphology = bipedal, mesh_tags.style = realistic-ethnographic` (BE_0011's
own value on the same station). This sheet's § 2 is the demand table the values are read from.
ontology_class EMPTY on all four BE_0011 rows while target_type carries the load. Same finding BE_0009 and BE_0011 boarded; seconded here rather than re-raised. The registry lane
should rule whether human and institutional antagonists take an ontology class at all.
has_nonkill_path EMPTY while win_condition reads REDUCE and the kit builds a surrender (ability 12). BE_0011_S2 and BE_0011_S3 both carry has_nonkill_path = TRUE on the same
encounter chain; this row does not. PROPOSED: has_nonkill_path = TRUE, with pip_count and
pip_reveal_threshold decided alongside it. The kit already declines to claim it as canon and this
sheet does the same.
FORMATION, WHICH THE DOCTRINE DOES NOT ENUMERATE. § 2.4's list runsBODY, VEHICLE, MACHINERY, EQUIPMENT, ARCHITECTURE, SURFACES, RESTORATIVE, NONE, and the crew
sub-case (§ 3A.2) rules the part economy of a HEADLESS crew to be TOOLS. This row is the HEADED crew
case and its breakable is neither tools nor bodies — it is the COHESION OF A FORMATION, measured in
arena silhouette, broken by displacement rather than damage. Proposed as a ninth home. The doctrine
lane owns the edit; this sheet does not make it.
BE_0011 declared ARCHITECTURE plusMACHINERY and boarded that the declaration must be a SET rather than a value; this row is FORMATION
plus EQUIPMENT and BE_0011_S3 is BODY plus an arena-state home. Until the schema admits a set, a
gate cannot check any of the three. Seconding, with two new members.
height_m AND length_axis EMPTY on this row while § 2 now declares a height band and a buildband that the rig, the retarget and the silhouette proof all need. PROPOSED, NOT WRITTEN:
height_m = 1.81 (the band's midpoint), length_axis = height — the axis cell matters because the
silhouette instrument orbits about a body's own longest axis, and a biped's is not a serpent's. The
cell is EMPTY on all three BE_0011_S rows, so the finding is chapter-wide rather than row-local.
docs/DOC_MAP.md L571 names the emitter (harness/asset_factory/emit_creature_physical.py) and
records the state: CR_0002's sheet § 10 is "the TEMPLATE every Ch 5-13 sheet inherits" and the
gallery "renders a NAMED GAP row" for any sheet without one — 1 profile landed, 28 named gaps.
This sheet is a twenty-ninth. It is recorded rather than improvised, because the § 10 tables derive
mass from a mesh's own closed volume and apply the material-interaction grid, and no mesh exists for
this row yet (generation_status = pending). § 2's declared bands are the demand side of that
profile, not a substitute for it.
hitzone_parts EMPTY on this row, as on every row the lane has read. Recorded for the count.BE_0011 and BE_0011_S1 drive theirescalation off one formation clock and the main-boss row's own clause requires the duel to import it.
BE_0011 boarded this; this sheet is its second dependent and confirms the dependency is real in
both directions.
BE_0011_S1the page's derived boss index reads "(strike/parry, 45/25/30)", matching the registry exactly
[central_africa_congo.md § Derived Indexes L98]. Recorded as a positive control for the conflict
found on BE_0011_S3 (see that sheet's § 9), so the sibling finding is not mistaken for a systemic
page defect.
Recorded so no lane re-boards it as a blocker: Josh ruled BOOKS NEVER GATE, and the region page's
first MUST-ACQUIRE is a polish-and-depth pass rather than a gate
[docs/spine/DECISIONS_PENDING_JOSH.md head; central_africa_congo.md § 16]. What this sheet asks
of the director is a dispatch, not a decision: a deep-research pass on the Force Publique's
establishment and the concession-post cordon would let § 3 and § 7's item (1) be authored at full
historical weight instead of deferred, and three of the chapter's four encounters would gain by it.
