If this document disagrees with canon, CANON WINS and this document is the defect — fix the

STATUS: PROPOSAL-TIER design sheet. It is the **only row in the Ch 6-7 set with
has_nonkill_path FALSE** — the slice's first encounter that is simply a killing, and the tradition's
own answer to why a war-god exists at all. Every other sheet in these two chapters has had to defend
a non-kill; this one has to defend the kill, and it is the easier argument. It cites canon rows and
writes none.

requires a stated baseline anyway, and the honest one is the ICONOGRAPHIC baseline rather than a
zoological one: a powerful humanoid frame in the register the tradition's own asura imagery uses,
built at a scale that oppresses a hillside.
the elevation adds carried on named chains in §5. Every part of this body has a joint roster because
the doctrine's governing law of part three requires it and because a chimera is the failure mode.

shaped to be a rock.
expressly to end him; the god struck him with a spear, and the demon, SPLITTING AS HE FELL, became

whole design and §4 spends it.
manifestation of the demon-host of the Soorasamharam, and the Soorasamharam itself — the ritual
slaying of Surapadman — is commemorated at Tiruchendur rather than here [CH_07 § Threads, Thread 18;
§ Boss structure]. THE DISTINCTION IS HELD: this is a REMNANT stirring against a wrong-spirited
ascent, not a restaging of the rite.
brothers Tarakan and Singamukhan, whose slaying in the Soorasamharam is the reason for Murugan's
very existence; the sources named on the row are the Kandha Puranam and the Clothey and Zvelebil
scholarship, and the row records that this restoration REPLACES an earlier abstract "Palani Ascent"
[T0_Boss_Encounter_Registry @ BE_0007_S3 sources; CH_07 header].
only the condemned asura is faced [CH_07 § Protected-chapter combat framing; HL_0005].
brothers' distinguishing features, and the sequence of the war is specialist material the processed
corpus does not carry at that granularity. This sheet therefore designs a REMNANT MANIFESTATION —
which the row already scopes it as — and does not portray Surapadman himself, does not assign him
invented iconography, and does not name his brothers as forms of this encounter. The one fact it
builds on, the splitting, is carried in the chapter's own body prose and is the tradition's most
widely held detail. When the specialist sources land, the manifestation's forms are superseded in
place.
shapes, the marker-answer read, the oppression's physical form, and the summit-quiet.
ONE-LINE READ: a figure too large for the hill that comes apart along a line when it is struck
properly, and both halves keep coming.
PRIMARY — A2 SEGMENT AND LIMB MULTIPLICATION, BY DIVISION RATHER THAN BY ADDITION, and it is the
tradition's own most striking fact turned into a fight. The demon SPLIT as he fell. So this
manifestation's defining behaviour is that a correct strike DIVIDES it, and each division is still
it — smaller, faster, and carrying a subset of the whole's vocabulary. The doctrine's requirement that
every added segment carry its own tell is answered structurally: a divided part is not decoration
because it was the whole a moment ago and the player has already learned to read it.
the spear-line read the abode's markers teach (§6) — so dividing it is a success, not a punishment.
attrition rather than a fight: the manifestation divides twice. Whole, halves, quarters, and the
quarters are what the player finishes.
the quarters have neither and only close. The moveset shrinks as the count grows, which is the
monster-feel rubric's permanent-subtraction currency delivered by the elevation itself.
SUPPORTING — A1 SCALE BAND at ARENA: the body sets the arena's scale, and the physical consequence is
stated — the whole form cannot move quickly on a hillside, cannot turn sharply, and telegraphs across
its whole length. The band shrinks with each division, which is the second thing the split buys.
SUPPORTING — A6 VRIL MANIFESTATION AS WORLD RESPONSE, inside the light law and answering the row's own
"deepens the oppression rather than adding attacks". THE OPPRESSION IS PHYSICAL AND IT IS ON THE HILL,
not on the creature: the air over the ascent goes still and hot, the path's dust does not settle, the
scrub bends away from the line the manifestation holds, and — the strongest and cheapest beat — THE
HILL GOES QUIET. Birds first, then insects. A player climbing a real hill in South India knows what it
sounds like, and the silence arrives before the thing does.
MECHANISM: it is a remnant of a defeated being, and its nature is the defeat itself. It divides
because dividing is what happened to it, and it oppresses because oppression is what it did. Vril
alters real physics rather than suspending it, so both read as physical facts on a real hillside.
EMISSION: NONE. defender_element is unset on the row and no emitting family is claimed. It reads
against the hill's own hard daylight by OCCLUSION and silhouette, which is the light law's own named
mechanism and is the right one for a thing this size in this light.
joint, weight passing through the legs into the hill.
requirement, because a split is exactly where an unarticulated seam hides. It is declared: the plane
runs the body's long axis; each half is a COMPLETE articulated body with its own spine chain and its
own limb pairs rather than half a rig; and the transition is authored as a real separation with
weight redistributing into two sets of legs. If the halves are two copies spawned at the seam
position, the encounter has failed at the asset layer and a player will see it in one frame.
that the division plane passes through, so the halves genuinely do not have it. The subtraction is
visible in the silhouette because the limb is gone from it.
VERBS ARE STRIKE AND ENDURE, axis 35/25/40. The row's counters: "hold the ascent in the demon-slaying
tradition's own bearing; read the abode's markers to answer the asura's forms."
| tell shape | body origin | one answer | counter class |
|---|---|---|---|
| the long reach across the path | the forelimb pair loads and the whole mass leans into the slope | DODGE — a whole-body commitment, given away by its own size | dodge-only |
| the planted set | the legs drive into the hill and the body squares to the ascent | STRIKE the spear-line the markers name — this is the division window | the puzzle lane |
| the oppression deepening | the hill's air stills and the quiet closes in around the player | ENDURE — hold the climb's bearing; do not break pace | vril management |
| the halves closing from two sides | two complete bodies, no reach, converging | keep the SLOPE between them; the hill is the answer | the environmental lane |
ONE SHAPE, ONE ANSWER throughout, and the answers are deliberately spread across four different
classes — this is the chapter's most conventional fight and the slice needed one.
THE MARKER READ IS THE PUZZLE AXIS AND IT IS THE ROW'S OWN. The abode carries the tradition's markers
along the ascent, and reading them is what tells the player where the spear-line falls on this form.
The design specifies that the markers are READ, never used — they are not weapons, not power-ups and
not consumed. The player learns the answer from the place and then performs it themselves, which
keeps the sacred material honoured and out of the mechanics.
ESCALATION — the row's phrase is "deepens the oppression rather than adding attacks", and P2 adds
nothing to the creature at all: the HILL gets worse. The heat rises, the quiet deepens, the footing
loosens, and the wrong-spirited ascent (FORK_CH07_B's corrosive direction) deepens it further, which
is the fork expressed as difficulty rather than as a gate.
THE FOUR CHANNELS: POSTURE — it stops leaning and stands square, which is the division window
appearing. BREATH — the hill's own air movement stops. VOCALIZATION — none from the creature; the
channel is the ABSENCE of the hill's sound, and the design instruction is that this thing never roars,
because a remnant of a defeated being performing for the player would make it smaller. NEW OPENER —
the halves arrive together instead of in sequence.
OPENER AND VARIANTS: the root is THE REACH. Variants are the reach longer, downhill, across the path,
and finally the halves' close-in version with no reach at all.
BREAKABLE PARTS at combat distance: the FORELIMB PAIR (about 0.14 of silhouette on the whole form —
the largest part in either chapter and the one the division plane passes through), and the PLANTED
LEG ANCHORS (about 0.08 each; breaking one costs the planted set and therefore costs the creature its
own division window, which is a real trade the player can choose). Both are outline features.
CHAIN-METER BODY STATE: has_nonkill_path FALSE. There are no pips and no chain here, and the
encounter is the slice's proof that the puzzle-boss template is a tool rather than a default.
RELOCATION AND TURF: it owns the ascent and holds a stretch of it. It does not pursue down the hill,
which matters: a player may withdraw, recover and return, and the row's environmental 40 axis is the
hill they have to re-climb to do it.
WIN: the manifestation put down — REDUCE, and the reward is the peacock at the summit, the very sign
of the ancient defeat, taking the protagonist's measure and gated at a tier they have not reached
[CH07_B12]. LOSS: the ascent rhythm is logged for the retry; the demon is put down and the summit is
reached on every option of FORK_CH07_B — the SPIRIT is the fork, not the outcome.
the pilgrims, the abode and its practitioners are honoured and are not in the fight. Murugan is the
HONOURED SLAYER of this being and is never a target — and the sheet notes that the deity's role here
is the strongest possible argument FOR the encounter: the game is doing what the tradition itself
says was done.
The rated-R don't-defang law names exactly this: a tradition's own chaos-being or demon is fought,
staged, and put down, and protecting it would be the failure. has_nonkill_path FALSE is therefore
not a harshness this sheet added — it is the tradition's own resolution, and softening it into a
banishment or a pacification would have been the disrespectful option as well as the timid one.
lives; the hill-shrine itself is a living sacred site, referenced not reproduced, and no combat is
staged on it. The markers along the path are read and never touched.
photographic-human template, and this subject in particular would be badly served by either. The
hill, the path and the markers are REFERENCE_BUILT.
CHAPTERS. The question is not whether the encounter is too soft but whether the KILL is
over-reached. The pass says the kill is correct and records why: (1) the row carries
has_nonkill_path FALSE and EXEMPT_DESTRUCTIVE is absent, so canon rules a killing; (2) the
tradition's own central act here is a slaying, commemorated annually, and the being's defeat is the
reason the god exists — a game that refused to stage it would be substituting its own squeamishness
for a living tradition's own theology, which the golden-standard mandate names as the defect; (3)
the devil's-advocate direction was run toward MORE care and produced nothing worth taking — the only
care-shaped changes available (a banishment instead of a killing, an abstract manifestation instead
of a figure) are both restorations of the de-cultured "abstract Palani Ascent" that the golden
re-enrichment REPLACED, and re-introducing them would undo a correction the chapter already made.
four tell shapes, the marker-read answer, the physical oppression and the hill's silence are
INVENTED BY THIS SHEET and are the game's own. The demon oppressing the world until the god was born

hitzone_parts EMPTY and this row has REAL PARTS — this sheet proposes three with silhouettefractions, and unlike four of the other seven sheets in these two chapters the emptiness here is
pure backlog. That contrast is now measurable across the slice and is the strongest form of the
"empty by design versus empty as backlog" finding this lane has produced: within ONE chapter pair,
the same empty column means two opposite things on different rows.
phase_trigger, escalation_vector, phase_voice_array EMPTY. The escalation here is on the ENVIRONMENT rather than on the creature, which escalation_vector may not be shaped to express, and
the phase voice is an ABSENCE of ambient sound rather than a vocalization.
T0_Boss_Attack_Rail 0 rows; four tell shapes across four different counter classes are waiting, andthis row is the best rail candidate in the set because it is the most conventional fight.

the slice's first instance; the 33 legendary species and the later boss tiers will want it again.

two chapters (after the Tovil literature and the Adam's Peak station practices). Three in two
chapters is a pattern: the bestiary lane is consistently reaching the edge of the processed corpus at
exactly the point where a tradition's own detailed material would make the design better, and the
acquisition list is the bottleneck rather than the design capacity.
