BE_0005_S3 — Naga Padoha, the bound earth-shaker: the LANDMARK band

CANON SUBORDINATION — this document is PROPOSAL-TIER: it serves canon and never outranks it.
The canon: the CVD · the T1 foundation docs · the T0 registries (registries/) · the spine
(docs/spine/CH_*.md) · the region pages (_source/02_Tier_2_Region_Pages/). Authority order: docs/DOC_MAP.md § 0.
Canon served (scanned from this document's own citations — widen it by hand where it is thin):
T0_Boss_Attack_Rail · T0_Boss_Encounter_Registry · docs/spine/CH_05.md · _source/02_Tier_2_Region_Pages/sumatra_java.md
READ THAT CANON FIRST — open it and derive from it before you build anything from this document.
If this document disagrees with canon, CANON WINS and this document is the defect — fix the
document, never the canon. Nothing here is applied until it is ratified into canon.

STATUS: PROPOSAL-TIER design sheet. It is the slice's first LANDMARK-band subject — a body that is

part of the terrain and an arena that is ON it — and the first row carrying defeat_protected TRUE.

It cites canon rows and writes none.

of metres apart, so the body's motion is a SLOW WAVE with an enormous wavelength and the player

experiences it as ground movement rather than as animation.

landslide. The doctrine's rule that a scale band must state its physical consequence is answered

literally: this body cannot move fast, cannot turn sharply, and cannot do anything small.

ONE-LINE READ: the caldera floor lifting because something under it is pulling against iron, and one

scale the size of a room breaking the surface where the ridge used to be.

PRIMARY — A1 SCALE BAND, at LANDMARK, with its physical consequence stated at every point. This is the

band's definition — the body is part of the terrain and the arena is ON it — and the slice's first use

of it. What carries the mass:

while it heaves in a slow travelling wave, and the wave's wavelength is the animal's. Nothing

attacks. The world is simply not still, and standing up is the mechanic.

of flank where the strata have parted. The curve of a body under a rock shelf. The player assembles

the animal from fragments and never gets a silhouette, which is more awe than any full-body shot

would deliver and is also the only honest way to render a thing the earth rests on.

SUPPORTING — A8 MATERIAL SUBSTITUTION. Where the body meets rock it is not clean: strata are fused to

the scales, mineral is grown into the interscale gaps, and the fetters have galled the hide into a

polished band. This body has been in the ground long enough to be part of it, and the material says so.

SUPPORTING — A10 NEGATIVE SPACE. The absent thing that reads is the WHOLE. The player never sees it,

never gets a health bar for it, and never gets a defeat. A boss that cannot be completed as an image

is the correct visual grammar for a boss that cannot be completed as a fight.

THE FETTERS ARE THE ONLY MADE THING IN FRAME. Iron at a scale nothing in the chapter's world could

forge, with a stress-line the player reads — and reading it is the row's own counter.

MECHANISM: it is bound, it strains, the binding holds. Vril alters real physics rather than suspending

it, and at this scale the alteration IS geology: the caldera is what a bound world-bearer looks like

from above.

EMISSION: none. defender_element is Earth, and Earth reads as world response — which here is the

entire encounter.

5. articulation_delta

SEVEN PIPS AT REVEAL 0.25, so the chain becomes visible a quarter of the way in and a mistake wipes

it. The difficulty is entirely in holding — which is the point the row's own win reward states: the

deep-time lesson that catastrophe is held down by HOLDING, not by winning. That is an L3 seed and it

is NEVER NAMED.

ESCALATION: the same seismic pressure INTENSIFIES. Evolve-not-swap, no new content, and the four

channels adapt honestly to a thing with no face: POSTURE — the caldera's own tilt increases. BREATH —

the wave's period shortens. VOCALIZATION — the sound is subsonic and structural, and the design's rule

is that it never becomes a roar, because a world-bearer does not perform any more than a naga tana

does. NEW OPENER — the surfacing becomes frequent enough to be a hazard rather than an event.

WIN: the surge resolves, the binding RE-SEATS, and LINK_0156's bound-earth-shaker motif opens toward

Ch 19. LOSS: the seismic rhythm is logged for the retry.

7. care_read

HONOURED and are not encounters. Naga Padoha is the tradition's own chaos-serpent and is endured and

re-settled exactly as the tradition holds it.

This sheet adds nothing to that and takes nothing from it.

monster is a BOSS and warns that the defang tell hides in STAGING. Is an unkillable world-serpent a

defang? The pass says NO, on three separate grounds, and records them because a later lane will ask

again. (1) The row's own citation is not squeamishness — the earth rests on it, so a kill is a

world-ending rather than a difficulty option, and that is a FICTIONAL FACT rather than a care

reduction. (2) The staging is not passive: seven pips, a wiping chain, and a floor that is trying to

put the player down for the whole encounter. (3) The chapter is not short of kills — its main boss

is a killable man whose killing blow is explicitly within reach and priced. The devil's-advocate

question was also asked in the other direction: could the encounter be MORE, without a kill? Yes,

and this sheet spends that answer on the landmark band rather than on damage — a boss the player

cannot see all of is a bolder object than a boss the player can kill.

strata-fused material, the galled fetter bands and the four tell shapes are INVENTED BY THIS SHEET.
