2. base_species

*Homo sapiens*. A Manggarai highland hunter, the finest tracker of his village, alive, and a VICTIM.

The skeleton is the ordinary human roster and the ROM is ordinary human ROM, and both of those

sentences are load-bearing: nothing about this body is distorted, because the horror is that nothing

about this body is distorted.

mass, stance, gait: a working hunter's build; a quiet, economical, extremely efficient movement

vocabulary — this is a man who is good at not being heard, and the chapter's own name for him is

the Quiet Step.

resting silhouette: a man in a leaf-and-bark stalking cloak, holding still.

3. lore_source

The chapter states him plainly: the finest tracker of his highland village, hollowed by the polo's

bargain into an emptiness he cannot name, who reads the child's tracks up through the cone country

and turns A KIND MAN'S READING INTO A HUNT [docs/spine/CH_02.md CH02_B07].

The mechanism is the wa-for-mae exchange: a soul displaced by a harmful essence taken on through an

illicit pact, human in outward form and non-human within [SRC_00457]. He is the outward form.

The style register is ruled and it is the whole design constraint: REALISTIC-ETHNOGRAPHIC for the

Flores community, and MYTHOLOGICALLY-STYLIZED ONLY for the polo's vril-hollow register and the Ebu

Gogo [docs/spine/CH_02.md § material_palette and style_register]. The man is rendered realistically.

The hollow is the only stylized thing on him.

He predates the House of Velheim entirely and no family name, pattern or operative chain exists to

surface here.

4. elevation

THE HUMAN REGISTER, DEFINED HERE AND PROPOSED AS A DOCTRINE AMENDMENT (boarded in section 9). A human

enemy runs all five parts of the grammar, and three things change:

THE ELEVATION BUDGET IS ZERO ON ANATOMY. A human antagonist is not anatomically elevated. Distorting

a human body is the horror-monster road, and on a living tradition's community it is worse than

that. What a human enemy gets instead is EQUIPMENT, CRAFT and STATE, and those three carry

everything the elevation axes carry on a creature.

THE FIGHT-GRAMMAR BLOCK GETS LARGER, NOT SMALLER. A human has no tail sweep to read, so the

telegraph budget lives entirely in posture, weapon carriage, footwork and breath. That is harder

than a creature and it is where the design work goes.

THE CARE READ IS THE STRICTEST OF THE THREE REGISTERS, because a human enemy from a living community

is exactly what §17.1 protects the community from being represented BY.

ONE-LINE SILHOUETTE READ: a hunter in a leaf-and-bark cloak who holds absolutely still and then is

somewhere else, and whose left hand never opens.

WHAT HE CARRIES (the row's own part economy, designed):

THE GRIP TALISMAN. His left hand is closed around something and has been for days — the knuckles

are pale, the forearm is corded, and the hand does not participate in anything he does. He tracks

one-handed, he climbs one-handed, he fights one-handed. That is a permanent, instantly readable

asymmetry that a player will notice in the first ten seconds without being told, and it is the

encounter's whole first question: what is in his hand. Breaking it weakens the polo hold, which is

the row's own break effect.

THE STALK CLOAK. Leaf, bark strip and fibre in the Manggarai material palette, built and maintained

by a working hunter, layered so its outline dissolves against monsoon understory. It is the reason

the stalk works and breaking it slows the feints, which is the row's own break effect — because the

feint depends on the outline lying.

THE HOLLOW, WHICH IS THE ONLY STYLIZED THING ON HIM (A10, negative space, on state rather than on

anatomy):

HIS BREATHING IS WRONG IN ONE SPECIFIC WAY: it does not change. He climbs, he runs, he strikes, and

the rate does not move. A player reads that long before they could name it.

HE DOES NOT BLINK ON THE BEAT a person blinks on.
HE MAKES NO SOUND HE DOES NOT INTEND, which sounds like skill and is not.
AND THE TELL THAT SELLS ALL THREE: he is still doing his JOB. He reads sign, he tests wind, he

circles downwind, he waits. Every one of those is the craft of a good man doing what he is good at,

aimed at a child. The horror is competence with the person taken out of it.

MECHANISM: the bargain took the mae and left the wa in it. The body is intact and the thing operating

it is not the man. Nothing is added and nothing is deformed — the subtraction IS the design.

EMISSION: none. defender_element is none and nothing about this fight lights.

5. articulation_delta

The closed left hand is a permanent pose constraint on the digit chain, not a prop. Every animation

in his set is authored around a hand that does not open, and the moment it DOES open (on the

talisman break) is the largest single change in his body language in the fight.

The cloak is a simulated layered garment with declared per-strip stiffness whose silhouette

contribution is measured, because the row's break effect depends on the outline actually changing

when it is cut.

Nothing else. Ordinary human ROM throughout, and the anatomy law refuses any pose outside it — which

on this subject is a CARE constraint as much as a technical one.

6. fight_grammar

TWO PHASES, EVOLVE-NOT-SWAP: the jungle stalk, then the cornered frenzy at the waterfall caverns

beside Tiwu Ata Polo, which adds feint follow-ups on the lunge and shortens the telegraphs.

THE TORCH IS THE THIRD COUNTER AND IT IS CITED: expose the stalk tells with a torch lit from the

geothermal vents. The vents are a real light source in the scene, the torch is a real object, and the

mechanic is that his cloak defeats SHAPE recognition and does not defeat SHADOW — a lit torch makes

him cast, and a caster in monsoon understory has an outline again. That is the light law used as a

stealth counter, and the same torch is the wa encounter's instrument two beats later, so the chapter

teaches one object twice.

BREAKABLE PARTS, from the row, with silhouette fractions:

grip_talisman — small in silhouette, roughly 3 per cent, and it is the fight's most important

target anyway because it is the only thing on him that does not move. A part that is hard to hit

and never moves is a genuinely different targeting problem from a boss's flank, and it is the right

one for a human enemy. Break: the hand opens for the first time and the polo hold weakens.

stalk_cloak — roughly 22 per cent of the standing silhouette. Break: strips part and the outline

becomes a man's outline. Subtraction: the feints stop working because they depended on the outline

lying, which is exactly the row's own break effect stated as a mechanic.

ESCALATION, four channels, and this is where the hollow does its work: POSTURE — he stops using cover

and stands in the open, because whatever is driving him has stopped caring about the craft. BREATH —

the rate finally changes, and it goes UP, which after a whole phase of it never moving is the most

frightening sound in the chapter. VOCALIZATION — he speaks for the first time, and it is the polo's

OPENER: the single lunge. Most legible, least punishing, and every dangerous thing he does later is a

recognisable variant of it.

THE WIN IS A RESCUE. Win by hit points and the hold breaks: Rangku Wera freed and pulled back — the

first person the child fights and the first person the child saves. win_condition is REDUCE;FREE and

the restore target is the hunter's vital force freed.

CHAIN-METER BODY STATE: pips reveal at 0.25, so the chain becomes visible a quarter of the way in —

the player fights a man first and only then learns there is something to be broken. Chain progress

shows in the left hand: the grip loosens by degrees, and at full chain it opens.

7. care_read

COLLECTIVE READ: this is the sharpest care problem in the chapter and canon has already solved it,

twice. The §17.1 line is absolute on combat against the Manggarai, Ngada, Lio and Nage AS SUCH, and

the malevolence is re-grounded in the tradition's own named evil being rather than in a community

role. The earlier build's dukun-as-corruptor framing is RETIRED, and the folk-healer Maria is a

benevolent knowledge-holder who reads the polo's work and aids against it. Hunter Anselmus exists

as the ethical-hunter foil — the living proof that the hunter's ROLE is not the corruption. So the

community is represented by two good people in the same chapter as the one hollowed man, and the

hollowing is done to him by a thing his own tradition condemns.

ONTOLOGY ROUTING: a corrupted individual who is a VICTIM. He is fought, and the fight's win is his

rescue. The kill is not the design's ending and the row says so.

ROUTE: REFERENCE_BUILT or ATTENDED_DESIGN. He is a member of a living community rendered in the

realistic-ethnographic register, and a raw generation with negative prompts as the control is not an

acceptable route for a real people's face. This is the pipeline v2 class routing applied exactly as

written.

ANTI-TIMID PASS, RECORDED. Two softenings were considered and both refused. (1) Making him visibly

monstrous so the player never has to fight a man. REFUSED — the ruled style register says

realistic-ethnographic for the community and stylized only for the hollow, and monstering him would

break the chapter's entire point, which is that the bargain leaves the SHAPE of a person walking.

(2) Removing the child-hunted framing. REFUSED — Ch 2 is the arc's survival-horror opener by design.

The floor is untouched: the player is the child, the child survives every branch, and the man is

freed rather than killed on the good route.

INVENTION DECLARATION: the closed left hand and its one-handed movement vocabulary, the unchanging

breath, the still-doing-his-job competence tell, the cloak's shape-versus-shadow rule and the five

tell shapes are INVENTED BY THIS SHEET. The two hitzone parts, their break effects, the counters,

the phases, the verbs and the rescue win are CANON and quoted. The wa-for-mae mechanism is CITED to

SRC_00457.

REVEAL READ: clean and it must stay clean. He predates the family; there is no pattern to leak, and

the death reward's "polo-corruption lore fragment" is the correct level. No player-facing string

here may reach for the later pattern.

8. plate_brief

PLATE A, identity: a Manggarai highland hunter in a leaf-and-bark stalking cloak standing in

monsoon understory, left hand closed at his side, face calm and completely present, eyes on

something off-frame. Realistic-ethnographic register, natural forest light.

PLATE B, the cloak: the garment alone, laid out — leaf, bark strip and fibre, built and repaired,

a working object.

PLATE C, the hand: the closed left fist in detail, pale knuckles, corded forearm, days old.
PLATE D, the torch beat: the same figure caught casting a shadow on cave limestone by torchlight,

the outline that the cloak was hiding.

PLATE E, silhouette: black fill, cloaked and cloak-broken at one scale — the pair that proves the

break reads.

9. boarded_debts

@ BE_0002 :: ontology_class reads CONSTRUCT while target_type reads corrupted_individual and the

restore target is a man's vital force. He is not a construct; he is a person. A generation lane

routing by ontology_class would build the wrong thing on the chapter's main boss.

phase_trigger, escalation_vector and phase_voice_array are EMPTY on this row even though the

phase structure is authored in prose in phase_breakdown_object. Section 6's four channels are their

content, and phase_voice_array matters more here than anywhere else in the chapter because the

escalation's third channel IS a voice change.

T0_Boss_Attack_Rail has 0 rows; the five shapes are this encounter's first.
DOCTRINE AMENDMENT PROPOSED — THE HUMAN REGISTER. The doctrine defines a familiar register (§3) and

a creature register (§2) and has no register for human enemies, which is a third of Josh's ruling

("bosses and enemies and etc"). Section 4 of this sheet is a working draft of it: zero anatomical

elevation, equipment and craft and state instead, a larger fight-grammar block because the telegraph

budget is all posture and carriage, and the strictest care read of the three. It should land in the

doctrine rather than living on one sheet, and every human boss row in the slice needs it.
