Chapter 72 — Naraka and Meru: The Enclosing Dragon, and the Waters Loosed on the Climb
Story Spine entry, v3.1 beat→fork→state event graph (docs/SPINE_SCHEMA_v3.md), restructured in place from the v2.5 cascade build (the ratified Realm-Road re-architecture, CVD §17.7/§19.8, D-RR.1), spine_status drafted. The v2.5 anchors, prose, source-anchor provenance, and reveal discipline are preserved; v3 re-shapes the site/boss/beat/side-quest/scene/state blocks into the typed machine layer (join-and-type — no new canon authored). Grounded on the enrich.py pack, the BE_0072 registry row, and the build-time Vedic deep-research (the Rigveda 1.32 Indra-Vritra hymn; the Vishnu and Bhagavata Puranas for the lokas, the Narakas, and the Samudra Manthana; Doniger; Dimmitt and van Buitenen). This node REPLACES the built pre-re-architecture Realm War Phase Two end to end (all fairy-war content re-homed to the Ch 75-77 fold, recorded in docs/spine/REALM_RECASCADE_PUNCHLIST.md); Ch 72 is the Vedic-Hindu vertical cosmos, a Realm-Road otherworld the elven traveler climbs THROUGH — the climb UP the world-axis OUT of the realms-of-the-dead cluster where the road's rising vril resumes. ELEVATED §17.1 care carrying the maximum-register duties (RULED elevated, seventeenth sitting 2026-07-28) — Hinduism a living major world religion of some 1.2 billion adherents, the top care tier: the deities (Indra, Yama, Vishnu, Shiva, the devas) honored and real and never villainized; the protagonist ECHOES the Indra-role of releasing the waters, honoring never supplanting; the only fought adversary is Vritra, the tradition's own chaos-serpent, fought as the Rigveda frames him (the Josh-ruled F1 offered kill/spare — strike the Rigveda-faithful death-blow or break the hold and spare him un-slain, neither branch coded evil); the Narakas held as the tradition's proportionate, time-bound moral cosmography, never a Christian hell. The Vril-Society, ancient-astronaut, and Hindutva-instrumentalization overlays are firewalled authorially; the realm is the game's own dimensional space. Reveal-timing note — not a hard-line node (canonical_hard_line_flag FALSE) but reveal-adjacent: the §17.9 ceiling holds (no thesis declaration, no Grand-Sage hint, no Cassius or patriarch or Architect presence, no Elven King; the Naraka-judgment is myth-geography only, never wired to the Ch 76-77 thesis mirror-lattice; no cosmic-identity inflation — she refuses the never-dying). Drafted is not canonical.
Entry header (schema per §9.5)
chapter_id CH_72; region Naraka and Meru — the Vedic-Hindu vertical cosmos: a dimensional space rather than an Earth location, entered on the Realm Road toward the fairy realm — the golden world-axis Mount Meru (Sumeru) around which the fourteen lokas are stacked, the seven lower talas down to Patala the jewel-lit naga-realm, the graded Narakas of moral consequence where Yama weighs the deeds Chitragupta records, and the ascending loka-rungs toward Svarga at the summit [SRC: T1_CVD_Creative_Vision_Document # 17.7] [SRC: T1_World_Geography_Master # 9].
region_chapter_set — the seventh of the nine Realm-Road otherworlds (Atlantis → Pohjola/Sariola → the Apsu → the Duat → Hades → Xibalba → Naraka/Meru → Annwn → Yggdrasil, the realm-names locked per CVD §17.7 and §19.8), and the sixth of the added Realm-Road nodes counted from Pohjola per CVD §19.8's ordinal — the same placement under two counts, between Xibalba (Ch 71) and Annwn (Ch 73); the CLIMB UP the world-axis OUT of the realms-of-the-dead cluster, where the road's rising vril resumes [SRC: T1_CVD_Creative_Vision_Document # 19.8] [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_72].
biome_primary a vertical cosmos climbed as a ladder — the jewel-lit naga-depths of Patala at the base, the seven talas, the graded Narakas of Yama's weighing, and the golden world-axis of Mount Meru rising through the loka-rungs toward the radiant Svarga at its summit, with the great serpent coiled around the axis penning the waters and the light; the register ascending, luminous, and moral — a climb from consequence toward light; climate outside human historical time [SRC: T1_World_Geography_Master # 9].
era mytho-cosmic, outside-time; the substrate frame the living Vedic and Puranic tradition (the Rigveda's Indra-Vritra combat, the Puranic lokas and Narakas and the Samudra Manthana), held as Layer-2 reference and honored as the living sacred cosmology of a major world religion, the realm itself the game's own dimensional space [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 7] [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 16].
operational type VERTICAL-ASCENT COMBAT plus a MORAL-COSMOGRAPHY CLIMB — explored AND fought, the winning verb RELEASE, not attrition: the ascent of the loka-ladder (up out of Patala, past the graded Narakas and Yama's weighing, toward the Meru summit) is the explored traversal, and Vritra the Enclosing Dragon — coiled around the world-axis, penning the waters and the light — is the marquee fight, each shattered coil bursting a pent river the protagonist rides upward, and the culmination an OFFERED choice (violence offered, never forced): strike the death-blow (Vritra dies and the last waters burst free BY the slaying, faithful to the Rigveda's own Vritra-slayer) or break the last hold and spare him (the waters release un-slain and the coil retreats into the deep, seeding his Ch-75 return). Either outcome looses the waters — the fight never dead-ends. No Earth community and no living person is a combat target; the deities are honored, and the one adversary is the tradition's own chaos-serpent, whose defeat — by slaying or by loosing — LIBERATES the waters [SRC: T0_Boss_Encounter_Registry @ BE_0072].
canonical_hard_line_flag FALSE — not a hard-line node, but reveal-adjacent and upstream of the Ch 76-77 release; it embodies NONE of the held content (no thesis declaration, no Grand-Sage hint, no Cassius or patriarch or Architect presence, no Elven King, no cosmic-identity inflation), it holds ELEVATED §17.1 care carrying the maximum-register duties of a living major world religion (RULED elevated, seventeenth sitting), and its Naraka-judgment and every weighing or mirror image is myth-geography ONLY, never wired to the Ch 76-77 thesis mirror-lattice [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0043] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0046].
prev_chapter_link CH_71 (Xibalba — the Maya underworld, the ballgame won by wit, the Lords of Death out-tricked and diminished); next_chapter_link CH_73 (Annwn — the eighth Realm-Road node, the Welsh Otherworld of living plenty, the tonal gateway toward the crossing home) [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_72].
Continuity anchor (SSBL §9.3 — Ch 72 start state = Ch 71 end state)
The protagonist enters the Vedic cosmos at eighteen, the young-adult plateau holding (internal age designer-only, never surfaced); age_stage Adulthood [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_72].
Threshold state carried from Xibalba (Ch 71): the sixth Realm-Road node passed; the Maya underworld's trials survived by cleverness, the rigged ballgame won, the Lords of Death out-tricked and diminished. Three otherworlds remain (Naraka/Meru here, then Annwn, and Yggdrasil the World-Tree crossing into the fairy realm) [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_72].
Vril state — THE CLIMB-OUT: the rising road resumes here, and the release IS the resumption. The realms-of-the-dead cluster (69-72) is a descent-to-nadir-and-climb-out U: the road's ambient vril rose to its highest as she left the Duat (Ch 69), descended into the low-vril trough of Hades and Xibalba (70-71, where the win was by wit not vril-brute), and now, at Meru, CLIMBS BACK OUT — and the release-the-waters mechanic and the resuming vril are the SAME event: breaking the Enclosing Dragon's coils liberates the pent waters and light (the pent vril), and the rising road resumes as they flow. The full ceiling is NOT restored here (that homecoming re-homes to the fairy return, Ch 75); Ch 72 is the decisive resumption of the climb, not the restoration [SRC: T1_Vril_and_Magic_System_Master # 11].
Mastery, ability, and familiar state: the discipline carried at its ceiling and now flowing more freely as the vril resumes (Astral Projection A_C_001, elemental manipulation, animal communication, healing, cloaking; the Phoenix Form A_F_012 carried; the seven vril-seats — the game's own centres, held distinct from the living tradition's own kundalini and chakra terms, which are referenced only as the tradition's, never as the game's system); the Inscription discipline (Trade 9) at Adeptus Exemptus, reading the realm's Sanskritic inscriptions as Layer-2 reference; the familiars carried, and no new bond rooted here [SRC: T3_Familiars_Named] [SRC: T0_Ability_Tree_Registry @ A_C_001].
Companions: the healer's child (CHAR_0002) per the Ch-65 Departure/Continuation resolution; Ana (CHAR_0017), the melee blade; the accreted found-family carried — climbing the world-axis at her side, out of the country of the dead toward the light [SRC: T0_Character_Index @ CHAR_0002].
Ch-7 and Ch-16 payoff: the serpent-veneration and the Naga and cobra register she lived in South India (Ch 7 — the sarpa-kavu groves, the kundalini serpent-ascent through the ascending centres, the Tamil Siddha masters said to live deathless in hidden places) and the proto-Shiva seal and the pipal World-Tree she read at the Indus (Ch 16 — the presiding consciousness over the gathered animals, the Ashvattha axis-tree) both come due here: Patala's nagas and Vasuki, the amrita and the deathless, and Meru the world-axis are the fullest register of everything the serpent and the axis-tree seeded [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 7] [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 16].
Body prose
She comes up out of the Maya dark grinning and finds that the next country wants her to climb. There is no floor here, or rather the floor is the bottom of everything: a jewel-lit deep where great serpents move through their own light, courteous and enormous, and the whole world stands over her in stacked and shining tiers, rung on rung, up and up past counting toward a gold so high it is brighter than a sun. She understands the shape of it the way you understand a stair — that the country IS the climb, that every wrong she ever weighed and every right is laid out somewhere on these graded levels as a plain proportionate fact, a place for each deed and a term to serve and then a way onward, nothing eternal, nothing for its own cruel sake, only the exact moral architecture of a civilization that thought harder about consequence than any she has walked. She climbs past the weighing-place where a still judge keeps the balance and a patient scribe keeps the book, and neither of them is her enemy and neither of them is cruel, and she does not linger, because the weighing here is not asking after her.
What is asking after her is coiled around the axis of the world. She feels it before she sees it: a wrongness at the center of the climb, a great withholding, as if the whole vertical country were a body and something had wrapped the throat. The waters are gone. The rivers that should be falling bright down every tier are dry courses; the light that should pour off the gold summit is pent and dammed; the ascending world is parched and dim because a serpent as old as chaos has enclosed the waters and the dawn inside the mountain and lain down across them and will not let them go. This is the oldest fight the oldest hymn knows — the Enclosing Dragon and the one who comes with the thunderbolt to open the mountain and let the world drink — and she has come, without meaning to and exactly on time, into the place where she is the one who has to open it.
So she goes at the enclosure and the withholding both. She breaks the first coil where it clamps the lowest river, and the river bursts free with a sound like the world exhaling, and she goes up on the flood of it — rides the loosed water up a whole tier of the world, and the light comes a little way after, gold running down the wet rungs behind her. Then the next coil, higher, and the next river, and the next stage of the climb, so that the fight and the ascent are one motion: every wound she gives the withholding is a river given back to the parched country, every coil she shatters is a stair she rides up on the water she freed, and the vril that had gone thin and careful all through the country of the dead comes roaring back into her as the pent waters come roaring back into the world, the two the same event, the rising road under her feet again and rising fast. And at the top of the fight, where one last coil still clamps the throat of the world and the whole flood of it strains behind her hand, the oldest deed the oldest hymn ever sang comes down to her, and how she finishes it is hers to choose. She can strike — bring the thunderbolt down the way the first hymn sings it, the Vritra-slayer's own deed, and let the last waters burst free by the slaying, the dragon of chaos ended clean and the world drinking because she killed the thing that starved it. Or she can break the hold without the blow — crack the enclosure and loose the waters and let the serpent go, unwound and un-slain, the coil sliding back down into the jewel-lit deep to coil again somewhere far under, the world drinking all the same and the withholder still in it. Either way the country breathes. Whichever hand she chooses she chooses without gloating over it and without grasping after more, because this is the god's own deed she is echoing in a country that is not the god's, and not a thing to be small about — and if she lets him live she carries out of here the quiet knowledge that a withholding spared is a withholding that comes back. At the top, where the churned sea gives up its last and best thing under the turning of Mount Mandara, the churning-peak set upon the world-axis, and the great naga wound round it for a rope, she is offered the oldest prize there is, the one the deathless masters of her first teachers' country were said to have drunk, and she looks at the cup of never-dying a long moment and knows, the way she has known a few true things on this whole road, that it is not for the taking, not by her, not here. She has a realm to reach that is not this one. She sets the cup down full, and climbs the last rungs into the light with the waters of the whole country falling bright and loud behind her, and steps off the top of the vertical world onto the road again, higher than she has been since she left the human dark, with only two doors left between her and home.
Threads advancing
Thread 2 (The Serpent), CONVERGENCE — the thread's fullest register and its playable culmination: the serpent that the road has carried across every culture (the Ch 7 South India Nagas and the sarpa-kavu cobra-veneration, the Ch 16 Indus proto-Shiva presiding over the gathered animals, and every serpent-parallel between) gathers here into one vertical country — Vritra the chaos-serpent-adversary who encloses the waters, Vasuki the naga who becomes the churning-rope, Shesha-Ananta on whom the cosmos rests, and the jewel-lit nagas of Patala; the serpent as enclosure-to-be-loosed — by the faithful death-blow or by a sparing that lets him slink back to coil again — and as world-bearing ally at once, felt through play and never declared [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 2] [SRC: T0_Thread_Grid @ THREAD_02].
Thread 1 (Vril Parallels), ANCHOR (resuming) — the vril rising back out of the realms-of-the-dead trough as the waters release; the Vedic prana and the life-waters felt as the substrate-parallel, the release-the-waters and the resuming road the same event, surfaced through play and never declared (still NOT the RESOLUTION_FINAL, which re-homes to the fairy return, Ch 75) [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 1] [SRC: T0_Thread_Grid @ THREAD_01].
Thread 5 (Tree of Life / World Axis), ANCHOR — Mount Meru as the world-axis (the axis mundi around which the lokas stack), the payoff of the Ch-16 pipal-and-Ashvattha axis-tree seed; the vertical cosmos as the axis climbed, the cosmological-register resolution and the actual World-Tree CROSSING still held to Ch 74 Yggdrasil (Meru is the axis-mountain here, not the crossing) [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 5] [SRC: T0_Thread_Grid @ THREAD_05].
Thread 6 (Dying-Rising God), ANCHOR (the amrita register) — the immortality weave: the Samudra Manthana's amrita (the elixir churned from the Ocean of Milk) and the Tamil Siddha deathlessness seeded at Ch 7 (the deathless masters living on in hidden places), the never-dying offered and set down full; the Vedic-register carry of the dying-rising and deathless thread [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 6] [SRC: T0_Thread_Grid @ THREAD_06].
Major-thread coverage note — Ch 72 advances Thread 2 (CONVERGENCE), Thread 1 (ANCHOR, resuming), Thread 5 (ANCHOR, the world-axis), and Thread 6 (ANCHOR, the amrita register); the family/antagonist threads carry NO Ch-72 anchor (none present on the Realm Road, per §19.8 — the road leaks no pattern; the one adversary is the tradition's own chaos-serpent, not the family), permitted and flagged for RR-72 [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 2].
Civilizational marks (the builders-of-knowledge layer, §9.5 mandatory)
The Vedic and Puranic cosmology — the vast and exact vertical architecture of the lokas and talas around the world-axis, one of the most sustained cosmographic imaginations any civilization has built (the Vishnu and Bhagavata Puranas), credited to its authors as the sophisticated sacred cosmology it is, never as encoded lost super-science [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 16] [SRC: CROSS_CULTURAL_WEAVE].
The moral cosmography of karma — the achievement of the Narakas: a proportionate, deed-keyed ethical architecture in which consequence is measured, time-bound, and followed by rebirth, with Yama the just judge and Chitragupta the impartial keeper of the ledger — a civilization reasoning out that a life is answerable and that the answer is exact and not eternal [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 16] [SRC: SIGNIFICANCE_LENSES].
The Rigvedic hymn and the chaoskampf — the oldest layer of the tradition's poetry (the Indra-Vritra hymn, the release of the seven rivers), the founding image of order loosing life from withheld chaos, credited as the Vedic invention it is [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 7] [SRC: T1_Trades_Master # 9].
The immortality science of the churning — the Samudra Manthana, the cooperative churning of the cosmic ocean for the elixir, and the living Siddha and yogic traditions of the body's ascending centres (the tradition's own kundalini and chakra, honored on their own terms): a civilization's long, serious inquiry into deathlessness and the ascent of consciousness [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 7].
Everything-woven (the twelve facets, each a real presence, none name-checked)
Combat is the loosing of the waters — the winning verb RELEASE, the killing OFFERED not required: the Enclosing Dragon's coils shattered one by one, each a pent river loosed and a stair ridden upward, the fight and the ascent one motion; a real marquee boss whose defeat opens the throat of the world and lets it breathe, and at the culmination the death-blow offered (Vritra slain and the last waters burst free by the slaying, faithful to the Rigveda) or withheld (the hold broken, the waters loosed, the serpent spared un-slain to coil again) — either way the world drinks, neither branch coded evil, the corpse never gloated over and the never-dying never grasped [SRC: T0_Boss_Encounter_Registry @ BE_0072].
Exploration is the vertical country climbed — up out of the jewel-lit naga-depths of Patala, through the talas, past the graded Narakas and Yama's weighing, up the loka-rungs toward the gold summit of Meru, a real vertical cosmos to ascend [SRC: T1_World_Geography_Master # 9].
Discovery (the country is the climb; the waters withheld and loosed; the never-dying offered and refused); puzzles (which coil holds which river; the ascent-route up the tiers; the churning of the sea); mystery (what the still judge weighs and why it does not ask after her; what waits at the summit) [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 2].
Lore (the lokas and talas, the Narakas, the Indra-Vritra hymn, the churning of the ocean for amrita); trades (the Sanskritic inscriptions read as Layer-2 reference; the discipline of restraint carried); gathering (the waters loosed, the world made to breathe, the climb made and the cup set down) [SRC: T1_Trades_Master # 9].
Side quests (the churning of the sea for the elixir; the naga-depths walked; the Narakas' moral architecture read); engineering (the Vedic and Puranic cosmology credited as Layer-2 reference; the vril substrate resuming); folklore (the serpent and the deathless masters honored as living sacred tradition, referenced never lifted); superstition (precisely what the chapter refuses — no ancient-astronaut Meru, no vimana-as-aircraft, no Aryan-race reading; the realm the game's own dimensional space and the vril a mathematical substrate, the excluded overlays held authorially per the Anti-fringe flags, never voiced in-world) [SRC: T1_CVD_Creative_Vision_Document # 19.1].
Key sites and spatial layout
Story-load-bearing sites, each having cleared a significance lens and the §4 relevance filter; the Vedic vertical cosmos anchors to the World Geography Master, never the RCM [SRC: T1_World_Geography_Master # 9] [SRC: SIGNIFICANCE_LENSES].
Typed v3.1 site rows (§3b) — beats reference these by site_id; the environmental detail rides each row as env texture.
env: the jewel-lit lowest tala, the realm of the great serpents Vasuki and Shesha-Ananta said to out-splendor heaven; the base of the climb and the understanding that the country IS the climb, the nagas courteous and enormous and honored, never fought; still in the tail of the realms-of-the-dead trough; hosts CH72_B01; L1/L2.
env: the graded Narakas of proportionate, time-bound karma and the hall where Yama keeps the balance and Chitragupta keeps the ledger; the vertical-traversal loka-ladder and the moral-cosmography read, the weighing glimpsed and passed and never adjudicated on her; hosts CH72_B02/CH72_B03; L1/L2.
env: Mount Meru the golden world-axis rising through the stacked lokas toward radiant Svarga, the great serpent coiled around it penning the waters and the light; the parched dim of the enclosure and the gold flooding back as each coil breaks, the throat of the world where the last coil clamps; the marquee fight and the ride up each loosed river; the VS_CH72_001 vril node where the road's vril resumes; hosts CH72_B04/CH72_B05/CH72_B06/CH72_B07; L1/L2/L3.
env: the Ocean of Milk churned by Mount Mandara set on the world-axis with Vasuki wound round for the rope; the Samudra Manthana tableau and the amrita offered and set down full, the never-dying refused; the step off the top of the vertical world onto the rising road; hosts CH72_B08/CH72_B09/CH72_B10; L1/L3.
Inter-chapter travel — entered on the Realm Road out of Xibalba (Ch 71, the sixth otherworld); the climb up the world-axis out of the realms-of-the-dead cluster, departing off the top of the vertical world onto the rising road toward Annwn (Ch 73, the eighth node), two doors from home [SRC: T1_World_Geography_Master # 9].
Boss structure (§9 thin join index — phases are beats; the narrative lives in the beat graph)
One marquee boss whose winning verb is RELEASE, not attrition: the fight and the climb are one motion, phases EVOLVE as she climbs (each broken coil one liberated river and one stage higher up Meru), there is NO fail-wall (the rivers already loosed stay loosed), and no honored deity or being and no community is fought — combat routes ONLY through the tradition's own chaos-serpent and the enclosure he lays on the world (HL_0122 honored-adversary; HL_0078 a glorious multi-phase fight is a legitimate boss) [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0122] [SRC: T1_Combat_System_Spec].
BE_0072 "Vritra, the Enclosing Dragon" (the Rigvedic chaos-serpent, ahi and danava; NOT a Velheim node — the Realm Road leaks no family pattern) · primary RELEASE · secondary ASCEND · axis 55/30/15 · phases [P1→CH72_B05, P2→CH72_B06, P3→CH72_B07] · win {the waters loosed and the world made to breathe, the rising road resumed — ws.atmospheric_vril_density_modifier rising, and ws.nemesis_memory_per_boss the branch outcome per FORK_CH72_A forward to CH_75; the enclosure opened on BOTH the slay and the spare} · death {NO fail-wall — the rivers already loosed stay loosed, and on death the climb re-opens from the last freed tier} [SRC: T0_Boss_Encounter_Registry @ BE_0072]
the culminating offered kill/spare is FORK_CH72_A (anchor CH72_B07, BE_0072.P3): strike the Rigveda-faithful death-blow (Vritra slain, the last waters loosed by the slaying) or break the hold and spare him un-slain (the coil retreats into the jewel-lit deep, seeding his Ch-75 return); the waters loose on both, neither coded evil, the manner riding the Ch-65-locked band (§18) [SRC: T1_CVD_Creative_Vision_Document # 17.1]
sub-encounters (beats, no registry row) — the loka-ladder ascent as a vertical-traversal gauntlet (CH72_B02); the moral-cosmography read at the weighing-place (CH72_B03, the SCH_013 Ma'at DECLARE/WEIGH discipline resonant at Yama's karma-weighing, glimpsed and passed and never adjudicated on her); the Samudra Manthana at the summit (CH72_B08, the churning of the sea for the amrita, the never-dying set down) — all routed so no honored deity or being is a target [SRC: T0_School_Registry @ SCH_013] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0007]
antagonist network node — NONE at Ch 72: there is no Velheim operative on the Realm Road (per §19.8), no patriarch and no Cassius present (node-agnostic, held to the fairy-realm confrontation), and no Elven King (re-homed to the fairy fold, Ch 75-77); the one adversary is Vritra, the Rigveda's own chaos-serpent [SRC: T4_House_of_Velheim_Canonical # 10.3] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0035]
reveal binding — Vritra is the tradition's OWN chaos-serpent, not the House of Velheim; the Realm Road leaks no family pattern (no Cassius, no patriarch, no Architect, no Elven King); the Naraka-judgment and every weighing image is myth-geography ONLY, never wired to the Ch 76-77 thesis mirror-lattice [SRC: T0_Antagonist_Network_Registry] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0043]

The v2.5 entry classed the culmination as an autonomous release-not-kill; the Josh-ruled F1 (2026-07-14, CARDINAL_FORKS_BRIEF) converts it to an OFFERED kill/spare (violence offered, never forced, per the §17 mature-content bar), with the RELEASE ascent/ride/no-fail-wall grammar carrying unchanged onto BOTH branches. Neither is coded evil — the kill is the myth's own clean cosmogonic deed (RV 1.32, Indra Vritrahan, the waters running because the serpent is slain, the Puranic Vritra-as-brahmin reframe set aside), the spare is restraint-with-a-cost; the integrity texture rides the MANNER (grave slay / gentle spare / the amrita refused / no gloat), read from the Ch-65-locked band (§18), never from kill-vs-spare. care_tier stays ELEVATED-with-maximum-register-duties on both outcomes (raising combat intensity never lowers cultural care) [SRC: T1_CVD_Creative_Vision_Document # 17.1] [SRC: WHOLE_ARC_CONNECTIVE_WEB_INVENTORY # ECV-03].

Key ally NPCs
The honored deities and beings, none a foe — Indra and the devas honored as the ARCHETYPE and register whose Indra-role of releasing the waters the protagonist ECHOES within the game's own dimensional Realm-Road space (a fresh enclosure loosed in a game-canon otherworld), NOT as appearing bystanders who stand by while a mortal performs the god's deed, and never supplanting or upstaging the god's own foundational, once-and-for-all Vritra-slaying and release of the seven rivers, which remains his; and the beings who DO appear on the climb are honored and inviolate and never fought — Yama the just judge (Dharmaraja) at the weighing-place and Chitragupta the impartial keeper of the ledger, the nagas of Patala (below), and Vishnu, Shiva, and Brahma of the churning and the cosmos referenced (deities-real) [SRC: T0_Character_Index] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0001].
The nagas of Patala — Vasuki (who becomes the churning-rope) and Shesha-Ananta (on whom the cosmos rests) and the jewel-lit serpents of the deep, honored allies and world-bearers, courteous and enormous, never targets (the Thread-2 serpent payoff of the Ch-7 Naga veneration) [SRC: T0_Character_Index] [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 2].

Protected-chapter / living-culture framing (§17.1 ELEVATED care, maximum-register duties — a living major world religion; RULED elevated, seventeenth sitting 2026-07-28)
Ch 72 renders the sacred cosmos of Hinduism, a living major world religion of some 1.2 billion adherents, and carries ELEVATED §17.1 care with the maximum-register duties (RULED elevated, seventeenth sitting — the closed maximum roster stays Ch 29/42/57), every commitment below load-bearing. First, DEITIES HONORED, NEVER VILLAINIZED (the deities-real discipline): Indra and the devas are the defenders of cosmic order, and the protagonist ECHOES the Indra-role of releasing the waters within the game's own dimensional Realm-Road space (a fresh enclosure loosed) — honoring and echoing the archetype, never supplanting, upstaging, or costuming the god, whose own foundational Vritra-slaying and release of the seven rivers remains his; Yama is the JUST judge (Dharmaraja) and his Narakas the righteous, proportionate weighing of deeds, never a sadist, and Chitragupta the impartial keeper of the ledger; Vishnu, Shiva (who drinks the halahala to save creation), Brahma, and Dhanvantari are honored and inviolate; no deity or sacred proper name sits on a mortal or companion NPC (the Kxao rule), and no revered figure is recast as a villain (the Liqä rule). Second, THE ONLY FOUGHT ADVERSARY IS THE TRADITION'S OWN: Vritra is fought AS THE RIGVEDA FRAMES HIM — the chaos-serpent (ahi, the danava withholder) who dams the waters and the light, whom the thunderbolt-wielder cleaves to release them — the legitimate honored-adversary register (the Ch 7 Murugan-and-Surapadman precedent, the Ch 71 diminish-not-exterminate discipline); the fight IS the myth. The chapter holds the RIGVEDIC cosmogonic frame deliberately, and precisely BECAUSE it does the offered death-blow is safe and faithful: in the Veda's own oldest hymn (RV 1.32) Indra is Vritrahan, the Vritra-slayer, and the waters run BECAUSE the serpent is slain — the paradigmatic GOOD cosmogonic act, order loosing life from withheld chaos, never sectarian violence and never brahmahatya. The later Puranic reframing of Vritra as a noble brahmin-devotee (which would make the slaying a sin and cast a deity as a murderer, colliding with deities-honored) is set aside — this game-canon Vritra is the clean cosmic Enclosing-power, so slaying him is the myth's own heroic deed, not a killing to answer for. The outcome is OFFERED, not forced (a real fought marquee, violence offered per the §17 mature-content bar): the player may STRIKE the death-blow (the Rigveda-faithful slaying, the waters loosed by the blow) or BREAK THE HOLD AND SPARE (the waters loosed un-slain, the serpent retreating to coil again); care_tier stays ELEVATED-with-maximum-register-duties on BOTH outcomes (raising combat intensity never lowers cultural care, CVD §17.1, the "Care tiers add depth, never subtract content" bullet), the win generative either way (the waters and the light loosed), the register never a gore-slaughter and the corpse never gloated over. Third, THE NARAKAS AS MORAL COSMOGRAPHY, NOT DAMNATION: the graded hells are rendered as the tradition's ethical architecture — proportionate, karma-keyed, TIME-BOUND consequence followed by rebirth — never a Dantean eternal hell, never Satanic imagery, never torture-gore; Yama's weighing is dignity and justice, not cruelty. Fourth, PROTECTED CONTENT REFERENCED NEVER REPRODUCED: the Rigveda and the Puranas are referenced and investigatable (L2), never transcribed as ritual; no living mantra, liturgy, or sacred sound is reproduced or parodied (HL_0007, HL_0110, HL_0111), and sacred sites and objects (the vajra, the pipal, the temple forms) are referenced not reproduced. Fifth, the AMRITA and the ascending centres are honored as the tradition's own — the Samudra Manthana credited to its sources, and the living kundalini and chakra traditions of the body's ascending centres referenced strictly in the tradition's own terms and NEVER presented as the game's universal system (the game's own centres are the vril-seats; chakra stays reserved for the living tradition, per Ch 7). The §17.9 reveal ceiling binds throughout: no thesis declaration and no Grand-Sage hint (held Ch 76-77); no Cassius or patriarch (CHAR_0004) or Architect presence (node-agnostic, held to the fairy-realm confrontation); no Elven King and no fairy content (re-homed to Ch 75-77); the Naraka-judgment and every weighing or mirror image is myth-geography ONLY, never wired to the Ch 76-77 thesis mirror-lattice; and the protagonist's elven-royal origin, known since Ch 66, plays at a traveler's scale here with no cosmic or destinal inflation [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0043] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0007] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0001].
Anti-fringe / Frame-A flags
The Vril-Society firewall (the loudest risk here — vril meets Vedic and "Aryan"-adjacent content) — at-risk claim: reading the Vedic material or the release-of-the-waters through the Bulwer-Lytton and Nazi-occult "Vril Society" race-mystical energy, the Ariosophy and Savitri-Devi Aryan-Vedic weld, or the Theosophical root-race reading of the lokas and yugas; racializing the Rigvedic arya (a cultural and linguistic self-designation, NOT a race). Canonical framing: authorial-only; the game's Vril is a mathematical and physical substrate energy, and the release of the waters and the light is cosmological and physical (the pent vril loosed), NEVER a mystical racial life-force or "polar energy"; the excluded lineage is held out of every player surface and never invoked-and-negated [SRC: ESOTERIC_GROUNDING] [SRC: SCIENCE_GROUNDING].
The ancient-astronaut firewall (the cosmology vs the pseudo-archaeology) — at-risk claim: reading Meru and the lokas as encoded lost super-science, Meru-as-spaceport, the vimana as an ancient aircraft, or an "ancient nuclear war." Canonical framing: authorial-only; the Puranic cosmology is the tradition's own sophisticated moral-cosmography credited to its authors, the realm the game's own dimensional space, and the Vimana the game's own vril-precursor craft echoing the real epic celestial-vehicle myth (never an ancient aircraft); the excluded overlays held out of every player surface [SRC: ESOTERIC_GROUNDING].
The Hindutva-instrumentalization firewall — at-risk failure: adjudicating the "Aryan question," "Vedic science," or out-of-India for any political pole, or asserting that the Vedas encode modern physics or astronomy. Canonical framing: authorial-only; the vertical cosmos is honored as living sacred tradition on its own terms, the game adjudicates none of these questions, and it never claims the tradition encodes modern science (the Ch-16 Indus firewall carried forward) [SRC: SCIENCE_GROUNDING].
The Naraka-as-Christian-hell firewall — at-risk failure: importing eternal damnation, Satanic imagery, or torture-gore into the Narakas. Canonical framing: authorial-only; the Narakas are the tradition's proportionate, time-bound, karma-keyed moral consequence followed by rebirth, Yama the just judge; the Christian-hell overlay excluded, the register moral and dignified [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0001].
Three-layer surfacing
L1 self-contained: a fully-playable vertical-ascent adventure — climb the loka-ladder up out of the naga-depths past the graded Narakas, then fight the Enclosing Dragon by RELEASE (shatter each coil, loose each pent river, ride the flood up the world-axis) and make the offered kill-vs-spare choice at the throat of the world (strike the Rigveda-faithful death-blow, or break the hold and spare him un-slain — either way the waters loose), and reach the summit and the churned sea; a genuine marquee boss whose win is the waters loosed and the world made to breathe, with no fail-wall [SRC: T0_Boss_Encounter_Registry @ BE_0072].
L2 investigatable: the Vedic and Puranic substrate — the Rigveda's Indra-Vritra hymn (RV 1.32), the Vishnu and Bhagavata Puranas' lokas and Narakas and Samudra Manthana, the Yama-and-karma moral cosmography, and the living Naga and Siddha and yogic traditions (Doniger; Dimmitt and van Buitenen) — surfaced through the realm and the journal, the living tradition honored on its own terms, protected content referenced never reproduced [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 16].
L3 metaphysical-as-real, never declared: the release IS the resumption — the waters loosed and the vril returning are the same event, the rising road resuming as the enclosure opens, felt through play and never spoken; the protagonist ECHOES the Indra-archetype within the game's own dimensional Realm-Road space (a fresh enclosure loosed in a game-canon otherworld), and the god's own foundational, once-and-for-all Vritra-slaying and release of the seven rivers remains the god's — she does not claim, supplant, or upstage it (as the Hero-Twins' apotheosis stayed theirs at Ch 71); the moral cosmography is real as architecture (a life is answerable, the answer exact and time-bound) and the serpent is real as the world's enclosure-and-bearer, all felt never stated; nothing of the ultimate thesis is declared, no Grand-Sage hint is given (held Ch 76-77), and no Naraka-judgment or weighing image is wired to the thesis lattice [SRC: ESOTERIC_GROUNDING] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0043].

dominant_combat_mode vril_management (the release-the-waters mechanic — shattering the Enclosing Dragon's coils looses the pent vril-rivers she rides up the world-axis; the win is the MANAGED RELEASE of the pent vril, not a damage race, and the resuming vril is the same event as the loosed waters; the culminating death-blow is offered-not-forced and the waters release on BOTH the slay and the spare) — mode-variety note: Ch 70 vril_management, Ch 71 puzzle_routed, Ch 72 vril_management, so no two consecutive share a dominant mode (HL_0049 holds — Ch 70 and Ch 72 share the mode but are not adjacent), and Ch 72 is distinct from the next node (Ch 73 Annwn, re-cascaded and settled at direct on both surfaces); the five-chapter window Ch 68-72 (environmental Ch 68, puzzle_routed Ch 69, vril_management Ch 70, puzzle_routed Ch 71, vril_management Ch 72) carries three distinct dominant modes, meeting HL_0049's three-distinct floor exactly; intensity PEAK (the maximum-rated climb-out apex — the Rigvedic flagship combat and the liberation of the waters, the escape from the realms of the dead; Ch 70 standard, Ch 71 peak, Ch 72 peak — the cluster's climactic crescendo, and Ch 73 follows as the tonal-gateway hush in REGISTER, its enum value standard, since the reserved relief enum-set is exactly Ch 27, Ch 52 and Ch 57 under HL_0050). CORRECTIONS APPLIED at the arc-wide spine-registry intensity and mode mirror sweep of 2026-07-27 — the Ch 70 and Ch 71 labels read "choice-routed" and "contest-routed", values absent from the canonical seven-mode enum and absent from the live registry, so the window count they supported was restated honestly from three; the "Ch 73 to be re-cascaded" clause was stale, Ch 73 having landed at direct; and the "only two consecutive with no three, HL_0048 holds" clause was a false invocation, HL_0048's no-three-consecutive-peaks clause having been REMOVED for Ch 70-77 by Josh's ruling of 2026-07-27, the fourth sitting, with Pattern A the Terraced Ascent ruled at the eighth sitting the same day — the same repair already made at CH_71 and CH_74. schools NO school showcased and NO new school (§19.8 — the five added Realm-Road nodes Ch 70-74 author no new school; the thirteen-school scaffold holds); the SCH_013 Ma'at DECLARE/WEIGH truth-declaration discipline RESONATES at Yama's karma-weighing (a narrative resonance, the registry showcase unchanged), as it did at the Hades judges; SCH_001 through SCH_013 carried. COVERAGE NOTE (for RR-72): the thirteen-school scaffold contains no dedicated Vedic/Indian culture-school (the schools anchor at Ch 15/17/18/21/23/24/27/29/47 and the four threshold realms), so Ch 72 — like the Vedic seeds at Ch 7/16 — showcases no culture-school; flagged as a coverage observation, not acted on (the 13-school count is locked canon) [SRC: T0_School_Registry @ SCH_013].

path_states: THE ENDING PATH LOCKED (Ch 65) carried; the Realm Road continued — the seventh otherworld (Naraka/Meru) crossed, two remaining (Annwn, and Yggdrasil the crossing into the fairy realm); the waters loosed, the world made to breathe, the never-dying set down full. The manner texture is DERIVED from the locked band (§18), typed at FORK_CH72_A; Ch 72 generates no new divergence lock (convergence_node_id null).
realm_state: NARAKA AND MERU CLIMBED — the vertical cosmos ascended out of the realms-of-the-dead cluster (the cluster-U climb-out achieved), the Enclosing Dragon's enclosure broken (Vritra slain or spared, at the player's choice) and the seven rivers loosed, and — the decisive beat — the road's RISING VRIL RESUMED as the waters released (the trough of Hades and Xibalba behind her; the full ceiling still NOT restored, that is the fairy return Ch 75); Thread 2 (the Serpent) at its fullest convergence and the amrita weave paid off; the road climbing on toward Annwn (Ch 73), the tonal gateway, and then Yggdrasil (Ch 74), the crossing home.
vritra_outcome: PLAYER-CHOSEN, branch-recorded via ws.nemesis_memory_per_boss (FORK_CH72_A) — either VRITRA_SLAIN (the death-blow struck, the withholder ended clean, the dead-realms cluster's one clean fair-game dragon-kill) or VRITRA_SPARED (the hold broken without the blow, the chaos-serpent retreated un-slain into the deep); the SPARE branch records the-withholder-was-spared-it-will-return — the spared recurring chaos-serpent rises again at Ch 75 to reinforce the terminal stand (the Last Coil), a felt recurrence never declared and forward_track [CH_75] to CH_75 BE_0075_S5 as a branch-conditional reinforcement wave (the terminal difficulty branch-balanced so neither slay nor spare is easy-mode); the waters release and the road resumes on BOTH branches (never a dead-end), and neither branch is coded evil [SRC: T0_Boss_Encounter_Registry @ BE_0072] [SRC: T0_Boss_Encounter_Registry @ BE_0075].

Decisions surfaced
Ch 72 is not a canonical hard-line node, so no Stage-2 canonical-question set is required; the grounded and creative-within-vision resolutions are surfaced here with reasoning shown (per the resolve-don't-defer contract).
Q1 — the whole-node re-cascade (Realm War Phase Two → the Vedic vertical cosmos) — APPLIED (CVD §17.7/§19.8, D-RR.1; AAA_REARCHITECTURE_PROPOSAL WS2 line 89): the built "Realm War, Phase Two: The Sacred-Site Restoration" is REPLACED end to end; Ch 72 is now Naraka/Meru, a Realm-Road otherworld the traveler climbs through; ALL fairy-war content (the second-phase Realm War, the Sacred-Site Restoration, the Elven King, the patriarch's reach, the desecration-register guardrail) re-homes to the Ch 75-77 fold and is recorded in the punchlist (nothing ratified is lost) [SRC: T1_CVD_Creative_Vision_Document # 19.8].
Q2 — the release-the-waters ascent boss (explored AND fought, RELEASE not attrition) — RESOLVED (per the deep-research; RV 1.32): the winning verb is RELEASE — each shattered coil of the Enclosing Dragon bursts a pent river the protagonist rides upward, the fight and the climb one motion, the vril resuming as the waters resume; the explored loka-ladder makes the ascent real; you do not out-damage the dragon of chaos, you un-enclose him; NO fail-wall. SUPERSEDED at the culmination by the Josh-ruled F1 offered choice (below): the built autonomous release-not-kill is now the SPARE branch of an offered kill-vs-spare choice, and the RELEASE ascent/ride/no-fail-wall grammar carries unchanged onto BOTH branches [SRC: T0_Boss_Encounter_Registry @ BE_0072].
F1 (JOSH-RULED, 2026-07-14 — the cardinal Vritra fork, docs/spine/CARDINAL_FORKS_BRIEF_2026-07-14.md) — the built RELEASE-NOT-KILL is converted to an OFFERED kill-vs-spare CHOICE (violence offered, never forced, per the §17 mature-content bar). Having fought Vritra (a mandatory marquee, a real fought boss), the player at the throat of the world CHOOSES: STRIKE the death-blow — Vritra dies and the cosmic waters burst free BY the slaying, faithful to RV 1.32 (Indra Vritrahan, the waters running because the serpent is slain), the dead-realms cluster's one clean fair-game dragon-kill and the myth's own heroic cosmogonic deed, never gratuitous — OR BREAK THE HOLD AND SPARE — the waters loose without the blow and the chaos-serpent retreats un-slain into the deep, a restraint-with-a-cost that seeds his return at Ch 75. The ride-the-loosed-rivers ascent, the phase-evolve, the no-fail-wall, and the vril-resumption all hold, and THE WATERS RELEASE ON BOTH OUTCOMES (never a dead-end). NEITHER choice is coded evil — the kill is the faithful heroic act, the spare is restraint-with-a-cost, and the kill must NEVER read as the evil option; the integrity texture rides the MANNER only (Good = grave necessary slaying that honors the god's deed, refuses the amrita, no gloat; Evil = gloats over the corpse or grasps the never-dying), never as kill-vs-spare morality. care_tier stays ELEVATED-with-maximum-register-duties on BOTH outcomes (raising combat intensity never lowers cultural care, CVD §17.1, the "Care tiers add depth, never subtract content" bullet); every cultural firewall holds (the Rigvedic danava Vritra, not the Puranic noble-brahmin — which is exactly what makes the slaying the clean cosmogonic deed and not brahmahatya; deities honored; the player ECHOES the Indra-archetype in the game's own dimensional otherworld and never supplants the god's once-and-for-all slaying). The SPARE branch sets the Ch-75-callable carry-forward via ws.nemesis_memory_per_boss (the-withholder-was-spared-it-will-return, wired to CH_75 BE_0075_S5 as a branch-conditional reinforcement wave, the terminal difficulty branch-balanced so neither slay nor spare is easy-mode) [SRC: T1_CVD_Creative_Vision_Document # 17.1] [SRC: T0_Boss_Encounter_Registry @ BE_0072].
Q3 — deities honored, only the tradition's own adversary fought — RESOLVED (§17.1 ELEVATED care carrying the maximum-register duties — RULED elevated, seventeenth sitting 2026-07-28; deities-real): Indra and the devas honored (the protagonist steps into the Indra-role, honoring never supplanting), Yama the just judge and Chitragupta honored, Vishnu/Shiva/Brahma honored and inviolate; Vritra the Rigveda's own chaos-serpent fought AS the Veda frames him (the honored-adversary register), the win generative either way (the waters loosed), the offered death-blow the myth's own clean heroic deed and never a gratuitous slaughter [SRC: T1_CVD_Creative_Vision_Document # 17.1].
Q4 — the Vritra-brahmin complication (hold the Rigvedic cosmogonic frame) — RESOLVED (per the deep-research; care-critical, and load-bearing for the F1 offered kill): the later Puranic reframing of Vritra as a noble brahmin (which would make the slaying a sin and cast a deity as a murderer, colliding with deities-honored) is set aside; the chapter holds the Rigvedic frame in which this game-canon Vritra is the clean cosmic Enclosing-power (ahi, the danava withholder) — and precisely BECAUSE it does, the Josh-ruled offered death-blow (F1) is safe and faithful: in the Rigveda (RV 1.32) Indra is Vritrahan the Vritra-slayer and the waters run BECAUSE the serpent is slain, the paradigmatic GOOD cosmogonic act (order loosing life from withheld chaos), never brahmahatya — so striking the death-blow is the myth's own heroic deed, not a killing to answer for (and the player may still break the hold and spare him; the loosing of the waters is generative on both branches, care_tier ELEVATED (maximum-register duties) held either way) [SRC: T1_CVD_Creative_Vision_Document # 17.1].
Q5 — the Narakas as moral cosmography, not damnation — RESOLVED (§17.1): the graded hells rendered as the tradition's proportionate, karma-keyed, TIME-BOUND consequence followed by rebirth (Yama the just judge), never a Dantean eternal hell or torture-gore; the Christian-hell overlay firewalled [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0001].
Q6 — the Vril-Society / ancient-astronaut / Hindutva firewalls (the loudest anti-fringe risks) — APPLIED (per the deep-research; CVD §19.1): the game's Vril is a mathematical and physical substrate (the release of the waters cosmological, never race-mystical "polar energy"); the Rigvedic arya is cultural and linguistic, never racial; the Bulwer-Lytton Vril Society, Ariosophy, Theosophical root-race, ancient-astronaut (Meru-as-spaceport, vimana-as-aircraft), and Hindutva-instrumentalization overlays are held authorially as the excluded lineage, never voiced in-world; the Vimana the game's own vril-precursor craft echoing the epic myth (never an aircraft) [SRC: T1_CVD_Creative_Vision_Document # 19.1].
Q7 — the thread assignment (Thread 2 CONVERGENCE, Thread 1/5/6 ANCHOR) — RESOLVED (build-derived; the Ch-7/16 seeds): Thread 2 (the Serpent) at its fullest CONVERGENCE (Vritra + Vasuki + the Patala nagas + Shesha-Ananta, gathering the Ch-7 Naga veneration and the Ch-16 proto-Shiva serpent); Thread 1 (Vril Parallels) ANCHOR resuming from the trough; Thread 5 (World Axis) ANCHOR via Meru (the crossing still Ch 74); Thread 6 (Dying-Rising) ANCHOR via the amrita and the Siddha deathlessness [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 2].
Q8 — vril RESUMES (the cluster-U climb-out) — RESOLVED (the cluster-U): Ch 72 Meru is the climb-out of the realms-of-the-dead trough, and the release-the-waters mechanic and the resuming rising road are the same event; the full ceiling is NOT restored here (that re-homes to the fairy return, Ch 75) — Ch 72 is the decisive resumption of the climb [SRC: T1_Vril_and_Magic_System_Master # 11].
Q9 — dominant mode vril_management / intensity peak — RESOLVED (HL_0048/HL_0049): vril_management (the release-of-pent-vril-waters mechanic — accurate for the release-not-attrition Vritra fight) distinct from Ch 71 puzzle_routed AND from Ch 73 direct (the topography R1 no-consecutive-same-mode check caught a transient direct/direct collision when Ch 72 was first set to "direct"; resolved to vril_management, which is the truer label for the pent-vril-release win-condition), the five-window (Ch 68-72) carrying three distinct modes at HL_0049's floor; intensity peak (the maximum-rated climb-out apex — 70 standard, 71 peak, 72 peak, the cluster's climactic crescendo; Ch 73 Annwn follows as the tonal-gateway hush in register, its enum value standard). Corrected at the arc-wide spine-registry mirror sweep of 2026-07-27 to match the Mechanical-anchors repair — the Ch 71 label and the window count, the stale un-re-cascaded Ch 73 clause, the "only two consecutive" peaks-clause invocation now removed for Ch 70-77, and the bare relief wording re-registered against the HL_0050 enum-set. [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0048].
Q10 — no Vedic culture-school (the coverage observation) — RESOLVED (registry-derived): the locked thirteen-school scaffold contains no dedicated Vedic/Indian school, so Ch 72 showcases no culture-school (the SCH_013 Ma'at DECLARE/WEIGH discipline resonates narratively at Yama's karma-weighing, registry unchanged); flagged for RR-72 as a coverage observation only, not acted on (the 13-school count is locked canon) [SRC: T0_School_Registry @ SCH_013].
V3-A — the v3.1 typing (the beat→fork→state graph) — RESOLVED (v3 conversion, 2026-07-15; Josh-override-able at any RR): the v2.5 five main-quest bullets are typed as ten v3.1 beats (CH72_B01-CH72_B10, the loka-ladder ascent split from the moral-cosmography read per the boss structure's own sub-encounter list), the Vritra fight as BE_0072.P1-P3 (first coil / ascending coils / the last coil at the throat), and the F1 offered kill/spare as the single fork FORK_CH72_A (kind combat_resolution, magnitude SIGNATURE, care_band elevated, convergence_node null). Both fork options are direction-neutral with ws.integrity_score ~0 (the choice is path-invariant, neither coded evil, the manner DERIVED from the Ch-65-locked band at §18); the durable write is ws.nemesis_memory_per_boss (WS_034, the per-boss recurrence key), forward_track [CH_75] where BE_0075_S5 (the Last Coil) is branch-balanced on it — carrying the ECV-03 / L-DRAG-72-75 connective link explicitly [SRC: WHOLE_ARC_CONNECTIVE_WEB_INVENTORY # ECV-03].
V3-B — the BE_0072 verb-column drift — QUEUED for the orchestrator's serialized landing (do NOT write the CSV in a parallel agent): the discrete columns primary_verb strike / secondary_verb release contradict the row's OWN engagement_modes_object and win-verb text and this spine (all three: RELEASE primary, ASCEND/RIDE secondary — the win is the loosing, not attrition, "you do not out-damage the dragon of chaos"); the offered STRIKE is the culminating FORK_CH72_A option, not the fight's primary verb (F1's own text: the RELEASE grammar carries unchanged onto both branches). Proposed correction: primary_verb strike→release, secondary_verb release→ascend. BOSS_PERSONAS returns NOT_FOUND for Ch 72, so the correction rests on spine + the row's own prose; the orchestrator confirms and refreshes docs/fidelity_baseline.json in the same commit. Observation (softer, for RR-72): the BE_0072 win_reward column ("un-enclosed and returned to his bounds — never a slaughter") predates the F1 offered-kill and could be refreshed to the offered-kill/spare framing at the consolidation [SRC: T0_Boss_Encounter_Registry @ BE_0072].
V3-C — the WS_025 identity_hiding_status enum typing — RESOLVED (v3 typing): the v2.5 prose gloss "TRAVELER IN THE VERTICAL COSMOS / TRAVELER IN THE LAND OF THE DEAD" is not a bare WS_025 enum; typed to CONCEALMENT_WITH_RECOGNIZED_ALLY (her elven origin recognized by the found-family since Ch 66, no hostile recognition and no human community to conceal from on the Realm Road), the traveler-gloss riding as the pressure note (gotcha 17: the bare enum, never a compound token). No canon change — the recognition-by-allies is established Ch-66 canon; only the enum is typed [SRC: T0_Worldstate_Variables @ WS_025]. RECONCILED (batch-8 verify fix-forward, 2026-07-15): the whole Ch 66→Epilogue span holds the bare enum CONCEALMENT_WITH_HOSTILE_RECOGNITION inert (the world-facing state; no explicit transition staged by the sources), realm-kinship as texture — the ACTIVE_CONCEALMENT re-key here is superseded; whether the arc deserves a formal post-reveal terminal WS_025 value rides to Josh/D-1 with the CH_68 domain-gap item.
FLAG (for RR-72 / the Ch 74-77 re-cascade) — deferred items re-carried: (a) T1_World_Geography_Master §8/§9 have NOT been endgame-re-cascaded (the geography anchors point into the OLD realm content, a known consolidated-pass obligation, fidelity-gate-safe); (b) the CH_75 stale "(Ch 70)" fairy back-references and the CH_68/CH_69 "Ch 67 vril_management" label-drift await RR-72 correction; (c) the Thread_Grid THREAD_02/THREAD_05/THREAD_06 CH_72 grid rows are content-edited in place and any new thread-grid row is deferred to the RR-72 consolidation to avoid positional churn (see docs/spine/REALM_RECASCADE_PUNCHLIST.md).
