Chapter 65 — Antarctica Return: The Gathering and the Verdict That Was Always Yours
Story Spine entry, v3.1 beat→fork→state event graph (docs/SPINE_SCHEMA_v3.md), restructured in place from the v2.5 cascade build, spine_status drafted. The v2.5 anchors, prose, source-anchor provenance, and reveal discipline are preserved; v3 re-shapes the site/boss/beat/side-quest/scene/state blocks into the typed machine layer (join-and-type — no new canon authored). Grounded on the enrich.py pack, the canonical BOSS_PERSONAS Ch-65 persona (Praelector Vane Ellisar, the Tier-A anchor #5 recombination-exam), the T0_Boss_Encounter rows (BE_0065 plus BE_0065_S1), and T1_Integrity_Paths_Worldstates_Master §3.3-3.5 (the path lock-in). This is a CANONICAL HARD-LINE node (the modern arc's finale and the path-lock capstone) carrying ELEVATED care (the Aboriginal-land-dispossession beat deferred from the Ch-57 chapter; the Overview-Effect contemplative material). The single most state-model-critical node in the corpus: path_bucket COMMITS here — a derived commitment from the accumulated integrity-score (WS_004/WS_005 via §3.3-3.5; the score-0 Drifting tie-break resolves to EVIL per the 2026-07-15 ruling), never a player-facing choose-your-ending. The §17.9 reveal ceiling binds absolutely: NO Grand-Sage hint, Cassius held Ch 76, the thesis Ch 77; the proto-Confession seeds Ch 69 without one word of declaration; the Ch-64 deepest-fact carried felt, never re-declared. Drafted is not canonical.
Entry header (schema per §9.5)
chapter_id CH_65; region Antarctica Return — the Pre-Fairy-Realm Gathering at the threshold of the realm, closing the Ch 59-65 Vimana-enabled continental-revisit arc; the Antarctic interior and the Ch-58 primary installation revisited, the Vimana in its vril-storage operational mode, atmospheric vril rising as the protagonist approaches the realm boundary [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_65] [SRC: T1_World_Geography_Master # Ch 65] [SRC: T0_Vril_Site_Registry @ VS_CH65_001].
region_chapter_set — the modern arc's FINALE and the ending-path LOCK-IN (HL_0010/HL_0011): the accumulated integrity locks here, and post-Ch-65 choices do not move the ending path; the five integrity bands collapse to three finales (Truly Good, Good Enough, and the Evil-bucket into which L4 Evil and L5 Pure Evil terminally collapse), the collapse operational and weight-bearing, never cosmetic [SRC: T1_Integrity_Paths_Worldstates_Master # 3.4] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0010].
biome_primary polar — the Antarctic ice sheet and interior, the Ch-58 installation, the pre-realm threshold where the atmospheric vril thickens toward the boundary; climate the deep cold and the rising density; in-world the last door of the modern world, the family's assembly convened before it [SRC: T1_World_Geography_Master # Ch 65].
era present day, read against the deep archive — the Antarctic Treaty and its consensus assembly, the EPICA ice record (~800,000 years of the planet's atmosphere held in the ice), the Overview-Effect culmination building since Ch 55, and the documented terra-nullius-to-Mabo record that the family's land operation is set against [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 65].
operational type POLITICAL_ACCESS (the assembly climax) — the House of Velheim's Sector-6 counter-campaign reaches its culmination (NW_0060, family-briefed): the presiding examiner convenes the GATHERING — an assembly of the academic, regulatory, financial, and diplomatic networks the protagonist has fought since Ch 59 — to render a final "verdict" that would bury the case at the threshold of the realm; the twist is that the verdict is a MIRROR, his counter-arguments assembled from the protagonist's OWN unresolved flags; the assembly turns to force at its climax; the patriarch absent (held Ch 76) [SRC: T4_House_of_Velheim_Canonical # 9.4] [SRC: BOSS_PERSONAS # Ch 65] [SRC: T0_Antagonist_Network_Registry @ NW_0060].
canonical_hard_line_flag TRUE — a hard-line node (the path-lock capstone) with ELEVATED care; the binding disciplines are the path-lock canon (HL_0010/HL_0011 — the three paths and the lock at Ch 65; the five bands per §17.4/HL_0022; the Evil-bucket collapse per §17.4/HL_0024), the §17.1 cultural hard lines (the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples self-naming, present-tense, and NEVER a combat target — only the dispossession apparatus is opposed; the dispossession and the Stolen Generations held with gravity; sacred and secret material referenced never reproduced, AIATSIS discipline; real figures audit-only), the antisemitism guardrail (the land operation a composite public statutory office that LOSES in daylight — never the "hidden cabal owns the land" trope), the anti-fringe / Frame-A firewall (no hollow-earth / Nazi-base / ancient-aliens-under-ice / ice-free-lost-civilization for Antarctica — the hidden realm the game's own mythic L3), and the §17.9 reveal ceiling (no Grand-Sage hint, Cassius Ch 76, the thesis Ch 77) [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0010] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0001] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0109].
protagonist_age 18 at start and end (internal, designer-only, never surfaced; age_stage Adulthood, the young-adult plateau holding; no crossing this chapter); protagonist_gender player-selected, carried [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_65].
identity_hiding_status CONCEALMENT_WITH_HOSTILE_RECOGNITION at start and end, pressure PEAK as the counter-campaign convenes and CROSSED as it closes; path_bucket UNLOCKED at entry (it COMMITS at CH65_B09, the lock node), path_lock_in_state UNLOCKED at entry [SRC: T4_House_of_Velheim_Canonical # 9.4] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0011].
prev_chapter_link CH_64 (the Underwater Sites — the drowned memory and the thing beneath the family); next_chapter_link CH_66 (Atlantis — the first threshold realm, the recognition and the Sealed Letter read clean) [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_65].
Continuity anchor (SSBL §9.3 — Ch 65 start state = Ch 64 end state)
The protagonist comes to the threshold at eighteen, the young-adult plateau holding (internal age designer-only, never surfaced); age_stage Adulthood [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_65].
Companions: the healer's child (CHAR_0002), primary companion and journal-keeper since Ch 3 (the record public since Ch 57, the whole case file carried) — whose Departure/Continuation decision lands here; Ana (CHAR_0017), the melee blade; the accreted found-family carried aboard the Vimana (the Ch-42-through-64 ties, incl. the Pacific allies CHAR_0160/0161/0162 rooted to their regions) [SRC: T0_Character_Index @ CHAR_0002].
Identity concealment CONCEALMENT_WITH_HOSTILE_RECOGNITION — the pressure at its institutional peak: the family's whole counter-campaign convenes here as the Gathering; the patriarch still absent (held Ch 76), the thesis and Grand Sage held (Ch 77); the deepest fact confirmed at Ch 64 (the presence the family serves predates it) carried held-and-unspoken into the lock [SRC: T4_House_of_Velheim_Canonical # 9.4].
Path state at entry: path_bucket UNLOCKED, path_lock_in_state UNLOCKED — the accumulated integrity all but at the lock (the last node before the lock-in); the lock is derived here from the accumulated score, never chosen [SRC: T1_Integrity_Paths_Worldstates_Master # 3.4].
Mastery, ability, and familiar state: the Astral Projection ability (A_C_001) carried; the Vimana carried, in its vril-storage mode; the Inscription discipline (Trade 9) at full mastery reading the Ch-58 installation apparatus grown clearer; the three forced Ether vril-seat bindings complete (Crown Ch 15, Third Eye Ch 38, Throat Ch 57); the three great Transformations all crossed (Physical Ch 55, Recognition Ch 57, Narrative Ch 58); T6 substrate-perception quest-earned here before the threshold realms test it; the Fire discipline at full mastery, unlocking the Phoenix Form here (A_F_012); the familiars carried (the F4 Simurgh, the F7 Andean Condor, the water familiars, and the wider roster), and on the Truly-Good path the Child Familiar (the 22nd slot, reunited Ch 58); the accumulated integrity arriving at the lock [SRC: T3_Familiars_Named] [SRC: T0_Ability_Tree_Registry @ A_F_012].
Body prose
She comes back to the ice, to the last door of the world she has been crossing, and finds the family waiting there not with an operation but with a judgment. Everything it has thrown at her since she came up into the daylight — the doubt, the silence, the bought consensus, the wall of paper, the fenced reef — has been gathered into one room and given a chairman, a polished man with a gavel who has convened an assembly to hand down a verdict and bury her case at the threshold of home. He is very calm. He has, he makes clear, already counted the votes.
And then he begins to read the charges, and she understands the trap: the case against her is built out of her. Every corner she cut on the long road up, every thread she let go slack, every question she answered fast because she was tired or afraid — he has them all, filed and indexed, and he reads them back as proof that she was never to be trusted with the truth she carried. The verdict is a mirror. It is the cleverest thing the family has ever done to her, because there is no lie in it to expose; there is only the record of who she has actually been, and he is betting that the record will not hold.
She does not answer him with a better argument. She answers with the work. Against each charge she sets the thing she actually finished — the ledger entered whole, the drowned river documented, the site left in its keepers' hands, the letters she honored by not pretending to read them — and where the work is real the charge simply falls, and where she cut the corner it does not, and she stands in that difference and does not flinch from it. One charge she will not let him keep: the assembly names a stretch of stolen ground as if the taking were settled law, a continent once declared empty by a paper that called its people no one — and she sets against it the plain public record of the day a court threw that lie out and a statute turned the paper back, the reversal done not in shadow but in open daylight, in a courtroom, on the register, the people of that ground its sovereign owners and never once hers to rescue. The family's operation did not invent that lie — it only leaned on it, the way an office leans on a statute already on the books, to enter a stretch of country into its own holdings as though no one had ever owned it. The answer was always the same: it was never empty, and the law that once said so has already been made, in the open, to say the truth. She does not speak for the people of that ground and does not try to; she only refuses to let their country be entered into the family's ledger as a settled thing, and points instead to where the public record has already turned the lie back on itself, in the open, under its own name.
The room turns, at the end, from argument to force, the way it always does, and she meets that the way she has learned to meet everything. But the room has kept one cruelty for last. The family's own worker of forced things — the hand she has felt at a dozen sites and finally put a face to at the reef — has gone back along her whole road and gathered up the ones she set free: the guardian she unbent from the dunes, the old tool-spirit she gave its oath back, the night-thing she cut from a friend's sleep, every mercy she paid out on the long climb wrenched up again and re-bound and driven at her here, all at once, as if to say the freeing never held. It is the verdict-mirror again in another register: the room throwing her own past at her, only now it is not her failures it throws but her kindnesses, turned into weapons. And she answers it the only way that keeps faith with the first freeing — not with a blade but with the same reading that cut each of them loose before, going down the line and undoing the forcer's knots one after another, giving each wronged thing back to the rest it was owed, until the host the forcer built out of her own compassion has come apart in her hands and gone home. What the family cannot understand, and never will, is that every one of these was a door she had already chosen to open, and opening it again costs her nothing she was not glad to spend. And the Fire she has carried since the beginning finds, here at the threshold, its final shape — a form that burns down to nothing and stands up again out of its own ash, the death she has died a hundred times on this road made at last into a wing. She does not win the room. No one wins that room; the votes were counted before she walked in. What happens instead is quieter and far larger: the thing that has been filling since the very beginning finishes filling, and settles, and will not move again. Not a choice she makes in a moment — a shape she has been becoming the whole way, freezing now into the only verdict that was ever real, which is not his and never was. It is simply who she has been. After this door, nothing she does will change it. She had thought, somewhere on the long climb, that the ending would be a thing she chose at the last — one clean decision, made in good light, to be the person she had meant to be. It is not. It is the sum of ten thousand smaller choices already made and already lived, and it has been deciding itself the whole way up, and the only mercy in it is that she can look at the shape it has taken and not have to turn her eyes away.
Ntala, the one who has walked beside her the whole way, who kept the record when no one else would and made it public when it counted, stands with her at the threshold and faces the threshold's own question — whether to go on with her into what waits past the ice, or to stay in the wounded world the two of them have spent so long trying to mend. Either way the record stays open, and either way the years between them hold. Under her feet the ice keeps its long memory, hundreds of thousands of years of the world's own breath pressed into the dark, testifying without a word. Above her the density rises, the substrate thickening toward the boundary of the place she was taken from. And the sight that opened in her out on the transformations — the whole seen at once, the borders she has been fighting across dissolving when the whole is finally in view — lands here, complete, as the door begins to open. The scale is full. The path is locked. She stands where the world ends and the other begins, and she goes on.
Threads advancing
Thread 1 (Vril Parallels), ESCALATION — the Vimana in its vril-storage operational mode, the atmospheric vril rising as the protagonist approaches the realm boundary (the Ch-58 Antarctica first-encounter content deepening); T6 substrate-perception quest-earned here before the threshold realms; and the Overview-Effect "see the whole" arc (built since Ch 55) reaching its dimensional-pre-passage culmination — the borderless whole perceived as the door opens, felt at full mastery and never declared [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 1] [SRC: T0_Thread_Grid @ THREAD_01].
Thread 2 (The Serpent), NOT_PRESENT — a canonical no-anchor cell (ruled batch-1 #10; the Ch 33 / Ch 34-37 precedent): the substrate carries no Ch-65 serpent anchor, and none is invented [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 2] [SRC: T0_Thread_Grid @ THREAD_02].
Thread 3 (Antagonist Family Pattern), ANCHOR — the counter-campaign's CULMINATION: the Gathering, the family's assembly of every network fought since Ch 59, convened to render a verdict that is a MIRROR of the protagonist's own unresolved flags (the recombination-exam), with the WS4 re-bound menagerie its supernatural mirror (the family's forcer re-binding the spirits she freed across the arc and loosing them together, answered by freeing each again); AND the family's documented land-dispossession OPERATION surfacing here (deferred from the Ch-57 maximum-care chapter) — the operation exposed and countered by the documented daylight reversal (Mabo / the Native Title Act), the peoples the sovereign parties and never a target; the family nameable, the patriarch still absent (held Ch 76) [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 3] [SRC: T0_Thread_Grid @ THREAD_03].
Major-thread coverage note — Ch 65 advances Major Thread 1 and 3 (grid-rowed); Thread 2 is a canonical no-anchor cell; the ending-path-lock and the Evil-bucket collapse (HL_0010) run through Thread 3 (the antagonist-family arc's mechanical resolution-gate); the remaining Major Threads carry no Ch-65 grid anchor, permitted per D-19, flagged for RR-72 [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 2].
Civilizational marks (the builders-of-knowledge layer, §9.5 mandatory)
The Antarctic Treaty System — a genuine civilizational achievement and the honest substrate for the chapter's "Gathering": at the height of the Cold War, rival powers agreed (1959, in force 1961) to reserve an entire continent "for peaceful purposes only," ban weapons and nuclear tests, and freeze sovereignty disputes (Article IV) "in the interest of all mankind"; the Antarctic Treaty Consultative Meeting a real, recurring assembly that decides by CONSENSUS, not coercion; and the 1991 Madrid Protocol elevating Antarctica to "a natural reserve, devoted to peace and science" with a standing mining ban — a rare case of humanity choosing restraint over extraction (the real deliberative assembly the family's rigged Gathering is a dark mirror of) [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 65] [SRC: SCIENCE_GROUNDING].
The planet's memory in the ice — EPICA (the European Project for Ice Coring in Antarctica): the Dome C core recovering ~800,000 years of the atmosphere itself, ancient air trapped as bubbles giving a direct record of CO2 and temperature across eight glacial cycles, recovered by ~10 nations pooling effort and freely exchanging results — science as shared inheritance, "the memory of the planet" (and, in the present, the record against which humanity's own CO2 now stands far outside the whole 800,000-year span, held with gravity, the ice testifying, never a lecture) [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 65] [SRC: SIGNIFICANCE_LENSES].
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander law and legal-political agency — among the world's oldest continuous living cultures (occupation of the continent for at least ~65,000 years, Madjedbebe); the engineered aquaculture of Budj Bim (Gunditjmara Country, ~6,600+ years, the first Australian UNESCO site listed solely for its Aboriginal cultural values); songlines, kinship, and continuous law and connection to Country (the very basis the High Court recognized as native title); and the decade-long Mabo litigation (Eddie Koiki Mabo and the Meriam people) that overturned terra nullius in daylight, the Native Title Act that followed, and the Uluru Statement from the Heart — the peoples' own legal, political, and diplomatic achievement, present-tense and ongoing [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 65] [SRC: ESOTERIC_GROUNDING].
The cross-cultural phoenix and rebirth-after-destruction — the Egyptian Bennu (the heron of Heliopolis, "to rise in brilliance," the soul of Ra on the primeval mound — with no fire, the self-immolation a later Greco-Roman development); the Classical phoenix (Herodotus's myrrh-egg cycle, the fire-and-ashes rebirth of Ovid and Lactantius); the Chinese Fenghuang (held DISTINCT — a sovereign auspicious peace-bird paired with the dragon, not a fire-death-rebirth being); the Slavic Firebird, the Persian Simurgh (Attar's "thirty birds," a Sufi image of fana), and the Jewish chol/milcham (Job, Genesis Rabbah, Sanhedrin — near-immortality earned by restraint) — parallel-independent rebirth traditions, each its own theology (a Class-1 convergence, never one diffused myth), the real ground the Phoenix Form echoes [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 65] [SRC: CROSS_CULTURAL_WEAVE].
Everything-woven (the twelve facets, each a real presence, none name-checked)
Combat is the Gathering and the lock — a declare-and-strike engagement: state the accumulated case against a verdict assembled from the protagonist's own unresolved flags (each charge answered IF the work was done — the whole modern arc's engagement verbs recombined into one arena), then meet the assembly's turn to force with the full kit and the newly-found Phoenix Form, as the integrity freezes and the path locks; the sub-encounters are the four reconvened desk-directors (each throwing one signature argument from the player's record), the RE-BOUND MENAGERIE (BE_0065_S1 — the family's forcer re-binds the spirits she freed across Ch 59-64 and looses them together, the supernatural mirror of the verdict-mirror, answered by freeing each again with the same reading that freed it the first time, never by combat), a Velheim intrusion interlude, and the pre-realm atmospheric-vril swell (a protocol beat, not a person) [SRC: T0_Boss_Encounter_Registry @ BE_0065].
Exploration is the threshold — the Antarctic interior and the Ch-58 installation, the rising-density approach to the realm boundary, the last ground of the modern world [SRC: T1_World_Geography_Master # Ch 65].
Discovery (the verdict-as-mirror; the path settling into the shape of who she has been; the land-operation's documented daylight reversal); puzzles (the recombination-exam — each charge mapped to the specific prior win that answers it; the case entered whole); mystery (whom the family will still not send — the patriarch an absence, held Ch 76; what waits past the ice) [SRC: T4_House_of_Velheim_Canonical # 9.4].
Lore (the Antarctic Treaty and its assembly; the EPICA ice archive; the terra-nullius-to-Mabo record; the Overview-Effect arc; the cross-cultural phoenix); trades (the Inscription discipline at full mastery reading the installation; the Fire discipline at full mastery unlocking the Phoenix Form); gathering (the case entered, the path locked, the threshold reached) [SRC: T1_Trades_Master # 9].
Side quests (the whole-arc case recombined and entered; the land-operation's daylight reversal; the re-bound menagerie freed again; the healer's-child Departure/Continuation closure); engineering (the demilitarized commons, the consensus assembly, the ice archive, and Budj Bim as documented achievements); folklore (the phoenix and rebirth traditions honored, each on its own terms); superstition (precisely the family's instrument — the pretense that a life can be voided by a verdict assembled from its own unfinished corners, undone by the work that was actually done and the truth that was actually secured) [SRC: T1_CVD_Creative_Vision_Document # 17.1].
Key sites and spatial layout
Story-load-bearing sites, each having cleared a significance lens and the §4 relevance filter; geography anchors to the World Geography Master, never the RCM [SRC: T1_World_Geography_Master # Ch 65] [SRC: SIGNIFICANCE_LENSES].
Typed v3.1 site rows (§3b) — beats reference these by site_id; the environmental detail rides each row as env texture.
env: the family's convened assembly (academic, regulatory, financial, and diplomatic networks) at the revisited Ch-58 Antarctic installation; paper, the gavel, the sealed verdict, the cold institutional register; the vessel-climax combat, the Velheim intrusion, and the re-bound-menagerie free-again all route through the apparatus, never a community; the documented land-record daylight-reversal beat is set here (the v2.5 third "site" folded in — see Decisions); hosts CH65_B01/CH65_B02/CH65_B03/CH65_B04/CH65_B05/CH65_B06/CH65_B07; L1/L2/L3.
env: the pre-realm boundary where the atmospheric vril thickens toward the realm; the Vimana in its vril-storage mode (VS_CH65_001); the Overview-Effect "see the whole" landing as the door opens; T6 substrate-perception quest-earned; the ~800,000-year EPICA ice memory underfoot testifying without a word; the lock and the crossing; hosts CH65_B08/CH65_B09/CH65_B10; L1/L3.
Inter-chapter travel — arrival by the Vimana at the Antarctic threshold (from the Ch-64 underwater sites); departure across the pre-realm boundary into the Ch-66 Atlantis threshold realm, the modern arc closing and the Realm Road opening [SRC: T1_World_Geography_Master # Ch 65].
Boss structure (§9 thin join index — phases are beats; the narrative lives in the beat graph)
The Gathering is an assembly, so its sub-encounters are the reconvened counter-campaign recombined; every fight blended, primary-and-secondary-verb, three-axis, with phase escalation that evolves the moveset (HL_0078), and a reward on win and on death (no fail-wall) per the T1_Combat failure-states rule [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0078] [SRC: T1_Combat_System_Spec].

protagonist, Ntala (CHAR_0002)
HELD: the Ntala Continuation/Departure per the RULED D-23 non-gating model (§8.11.3, for_life never departs); on the locked EVIL band the bond INVERTS — she crosses behind the record (the Ch-75 FORK_CH75_D seed); the door toward Ch 66
Ch 65 surfaces the family's documented land-dispossession OPERATION on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander land (deferred from the Ch-57 maximum-care Australia chapter) and must hold the living peoples with elevated care. The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples self-name (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples; specific nations by their own names where relevant — the Meriam, Yolngu, Gurindji, Gunditjmara, Wik), rendered present-tense as among the world's oldest continuous living cultures, NEVER "primitive," "nomadic-therefore-landless," "vanished," "Stone Age," or "dying race" [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0006]. The peoples are NEVER a combat target, obstacle, or object to be saved — only the dispossession APPARATUS (the composite institutional land-operation) is opposed; the playable arc is exposing and reversing the documented apparatus, with the peoples as the sovereign parties whose pre-existing rights are recognized (HL_0003, HL_0004). The dispossession is held with full gravity: terra nullius was false in fact (the continent neither empty nor unowned — hundreds of nations with their own languages, laws, and land tenure), a legal fiction repudiated by the High Court in Mabo (No 2, 1992); the mechanisms (Crown-land assumption, pastoral leases, mining tenure, and the child-removal statutes) are documented, PUBLIC, lawful levers, NOT a hidden scheme, and were countered in the OPEN through the courts and parliament (Mabo, the Native Title Act 1993, Wik) — the reversal happens in daylight, and that is the whole point of the beat. The Stolen Generations (the forced removal of children, the Bringing Them Home genocide finding, the 2008 Apology) are held with maximum weight, never used as backdrop, spectacle, or a puzzle mechanic; cultural-advice sensitivity applies (the material references deceased persons and traumatic history). Sacred, secret, restricted, or gendered knowledge is referenced never reproduced (the AIATSIS discipline — no manufactured "ancient ceremony" as set-dressing); connection to Country and its loss are represented without surfacing restricted content. Real figures are audit-only (Eddie Koiki Mabo and the Meriam plaintiffs; Vincent Lingiari — referenced as documented fact, never recast as game characters or made to serve the family's plot; the fictional operation runs ALONGSIDE the real record, never over or through it). The counter-campaign land operation is a COMPOSITE institutional office wielding documented public statutory mechanisms that LOSES and is COUNTERED on-screen (the Mabo/Native-Title daylight reversal) — NEVER the antisemitic "hidden cabal that secretly owns the land, the banks, or the paperwork" trope (the lever is open, on the public register, statutory, and reversible in daylight). The Overview-Effect / samadhi material is represented with authenticity (Edgar Mitchell's genuine awe and his savikalpa-samadhi self-description held with weight as a real meeting of science and contemplative tradition, never appropriation-for-spectacle; his later psi/quantum-consciousness claims kept at the character/authorial level, not endorsed science). Real persons are audit-only. The WS4 re-bound menagerie is held within the wronged-dead cap: it is composed only of the arc's FORCED VRIL-CONSTRUCTS (the family's own victims, re-bound), NEVER animated from real sacred or historical dead, and the most sacred presences (the huaka'i pō Nightmarchers, Pele) were never forced and are not among them; the protagonist's answer is compassion (freeing each again), never combat-as-spectacle, so the beat re-affirms the anti-appropriation ethic — the family forces and appropriates, the protagonist frees. The §17.9 reveal ceiling binds absolutely: no Grand-Sage hint (the Simurgh familiar's design-layer reveal-knowledge stays design-only, never a player-facing hint), the family nameable, Cassius held Ch 76, the thesis Ch 77 [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0043] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0109].
Anti-fringe / Frame-A flags
The Antarctica pseudo-history firewall — at-risk claim: routing Antarctica through hollow-earth / Agartha, a secret Nazi Antarctic base (Base 211 / Neuschwabenland), ancient-aliens or "pyramids under the ice," or an ice-free "lost civilization" (the Hapgood/Hancock Piri-Reis myth). Canonical framing: authorial-only; Antarctica is a real, mapped continent of rock beneath ~2 km of ice, with NO Indigenous or ancient human civilization ever — inventing a "lost people" here would be the careless move, not the inclusive one; the game's hidden realm is EXPLICITLY the story's own mythic L3 fiction layered over the real governed commons, never a real geographic or archaeological claim; the threshold-realm the Antarctic door opens onto here (the Ch-66 Atlantis realm and the Ch 66-69 threshold realms) is likewise the game's OWN mythic L3 — NOT a real ice-free-Antarctica / Piri-Reis / Atlantis-under-the-ice claim; the Schwabenland expedition and Operation Highjump were ordinary survey/naval operations, not a hidden-base battle; all shown player-facing as the mythic threshold and the vril felt, never a debunk [SRC: SCIENCE_GROUNDING] [SRC: ESOTERIC_GROUNDING].
The land-dispossession without the antisemitic canard (the load-bearing guardrail) — at-risk failure: rendering the family's land operation as a hidden cabal that "secretly owns the land, the banks, or the paperwork" (the antisemitic blood-libel/ownership trope, HL_0109), or terra nullius as a covert scheme. Canonical framing: authorial discipline — the operation is a COMPOSITE institutional land-office wielding documented, PUBLIC, statutory levers (Crown-land assumption, pastoral leases, mining tenure), bounded to a specific holding (a participant EXPLOITING the open public terra-nullius doctrine, NOT the secret author of the colonial regime), that MUST lose and be countered on-screen through the real daylight reversals (Mabo → the Native Title Act 1993 → Wik); the lever is open, on the public register, and reversible in the open — never a secret hereditary ownership of the world; downstream-authoring discipline — the "financial network" convened at the Gathering stays anchored to documented CORPORATE levers (litigation funding, regulatory capture, lobbying, funded contrarian science), never "controlling the banks/media," and the Gathering reads as the family's rigged institutional assembly held DISTINCT from the real Antarctic-Treaty ATCM (the honest consensus body) [SRC: T4_House_of_Velheim_Canonical # 11] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0109].
The Antarctic-commons and Overview-Effect honesty — at-risk claim: flattening Antarctica into a borderless utopia (Article IV freezes rather than resolves seven overlapping colonial-era claims; decisions are made by a club of 29 Consultative Parties), the "treaty expires in 2048" error (the mining ban has no expiry — 2048 is merely the earliest a review can be requested), or presenting Edgar Mitchell's later psi/quantum-consciousness advocacy as established science. Canonical framing: authorial-only; the commons is a negotiated, imperfect, critiqued arrangement (care means truth, not utopia); the Overview Effect is a real reported perceptual phenomenon honored as such, while the psi claims stay authorial [SRC: SCIENCE_GROUNDING].
The phoenix convergence without hyperdiffusion — at-risk claim: flattening the world's rebirth-birds into "one universal phoenix myth" with a single ancient source, retrojecting the fire-rebirth onto the Egyptian Bennu, or calling the Chinese Fenghuang "the Chinese phoenix." Canonical framing: authorial-only; the Bennu (no death/fire), the Classical phoenix (the fire-rebirth a LATE Greco-Roman development), the Fenghuang (a distinct sovereign peace-bird, not a fire-death being), the Firebird, the Simurgh, and the Jewish chol are a Class-1 CONVERGENCE — parallel-independent traditions cataloged as analogues, each its own theology, never one genealogy; the game's Phoenix Form is its own vril fiction echoing the motif, distinct from the F4 Simurgh familiar (a separate benevolent Persian being) [SRC: ESOTERIC_GROUNDING] [SRC: SCIENCE_GROUNDING].
Three-layer surfacing
L1 self-contained: a climactic make-your-case, fight-through-the-intrusion, world-decides-who-you-are chapter — answer a verdict assembled from your own unresolved flags with the work you actually did, set the record against the land-operation, meet the turn to force with the full kit and the new Phoenix Form, and reach the threshold as the path locks — the modern arc's finale, complete as action [SRC: T0_Boss_Encounter_Registry @ BE_0065].
L2 investigatable: the player's own accumulated record (the whole modern-arc journal, every prior win and unresolved flag) read against the Antarctic-treaty context, the EPICA ice archive, the terra-nullius-to-Mabo record, the Overview-Effect arc (White, Mitchell), and the cross-cultural phoenix — the record as the endgame's ammunition, and the healer's-child Departure/Continuation closure woven here [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 65].
L3 metaphysical-as-real, never declared: the Gathering is the convergence assembled as an accusation — the assembly of every institution the protagonist has fought is itself the shape of the thing — and the path-lock is the mechanical proof that who-you-have-been is the only verdict that was ever real; the WS4 re-bound menagerie is the supernatural mirror of the verdict-mirror — the family throwing back both her unfinished flags AND her freely-given mercies, turned into weapons, and answered by the same compassion that freed them the first time (the forcer's occult reach real and demonstrated, held to "occult reach" and never past it — no Cassius/thesis/Grand-Sage leak); the proto-Confession structure seeds the Ch-69 Hall of Two Truths without one word of declaration; the atmospheric vril really does thicken toward the boundary and the Overview-Effect whole really is perceived as the door opens (felt, never declared); nothing of the thesis is spoken, no Grand-Sage hint given (the Simurgh's design-layer knowledge stays design-only), the patriarch felt as an absence (HL_0043/HL_0046), the deepest fact from Ch 64 carried and unspoken [SRC: ESOTERIC_GROUNDING] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0043].

main_boss_win_condition WIN — pacify the vessel, but the PATH LOCKS REGARDLESS (the true win condition is who the player has BEEN, accumulated-never-selected; declare primary, strike secondary, axis 25/45/30, three phases, at least two counters per round, a Hades loop that closes into destiny — WIN and DEATH share the truth that the path locks and the 22nd-slot familiar OUTCOME is thereby determined either way — resolved at the Finales, not staged here); the five bands collapse to three finales (the Evil-bucket collapse operational, not cosmetic); the WS4 re-bound menagerie (BE_0065_S1) woven into the vessel-climax as a free-again beat (counter-attunement within the direct mode, not a mode swap — HL_0049/HL_0048 unaffected, mode direct + intensity PEAK preserved); no living community, faithful, or non-combatant a target; agility_course an Antarctic-installation-and-threshold traversal course — biome-rotated against Ch 63's Nan-Madol canal course and Ch 64's drowned-site course (HL_0079) [SRC: BOSS_PERSONAS # Ch 65] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0079].
abilities_unlocked A_F_012 Phoenix Form — the Fire-discipline capstone (tier 7.0, Adeptus Major; requires Fire mastery 100 plus all Fire questlines complete), unlocked here: the rebirth-from-ash transformation, the Hades-loop-closes-into-destiny made a power at the path-lock capstone (distinct from the F4 Simurgh familiar — the player's own Fire transformation, not the companion); the Astral Projection ability (A_C_001) and the Inscription discipline (Trade 9) at full mastery carried; T6 substrate-perception quest-earned here [SRC: T0_Ability_Tree_Registry @ A_F_012].
vril_sites VS_CH65_001 Pre-Fairy-Realm Gathering site (vortex_anchor / storage) — the Vimana vril-storage mode's anchor, the atmospheric vril rising toward the realm boundary; read at full mastery, felt never extracted [SRC: T0_Vril_Site_Registry @ VS_CH65_001] [SRC: T1_Vril_and_Magic_System_Master # 11.6].
weapons chapter_anchored_weapon_add none — not a weapon-anchor chapter (the four HL_0056 anchors are Ch 9-10 / 29 / 47 / 57); roster-availability carried [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0056].
trades no new trade home rooted here; the Inscription discipline (Trade 9) at full mastery reads the installation, and the Fire discipline at full mastery unlocks the Phoenix Form — a reading and a capstone, not a new home [SRC: T1_Trades_Master # 9].
familiars no new bond authored; the Ch-65 lock DETERMINES which of the three Finale 22nd-slot familiar outcomes will apply (resolved at the Finales Ch 66-77 per CVD §17.12 → §7.2, NOT staged here — TG the familiar rejoins as legendary companion [the Ch-58 Truly-Good reunion held]; GE the familiar gifts a binding stone any tameable creature can wear to become legendary; Evil the protagonist defeats the familiar in combat and takes its binding stone); the F4 Simurgh, the F7 Andean Condor, the water familiars, and the wider roster carried; companions_and_recurring_npcs CHAR_0002 the healer's child (the Departure/Continuation decision) and CHAR_0017 Ana carried [SRC: T3_Familiars_Named] [SRC: T0_Character_Index @ CHAR_0002].
inscription_spine INSC_77H_CH65_FRAGMENT (LAYER_2, hard_line_relevance 76.0) read at the threshold via the Inscription discipline — one more fragment of the 77-Hidden-Inscription spine; §17.9-sensitive (tied to the Ch-76 layer), its meaning held impressionistic, deepening the unease toward the one-thing-under-everything, never spelling the thesis [SRC: T0_Inscription_Spine] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0043].
schools no new school debuts; SCH_001 through SCH_009 carried (SCH_010 is the Ch-66 Atlantis school) [SRC: T0_School_Registry @ SCH_009].
main_quest_beat return to the threshold and face the Gathering; answer the verdict-mirror with the work (the declare-exam); set the record against the land-operation; meet the turn to force and find the Phoenix Form; the lock and the threshold (the path freezes, the 22nd-slot familiar outcome determined [resolved at the Finales], the healer's-child decision); side_questlines the whole-arc case recombined, the land turned back in daylight, the threshold and the companion's choice, and the re-bound menagerie freed again (path_bucket all, none gating) [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0032].
integrity_divergence typed at FORK_CH65_A (§10b) — THE PATH LOCK-IN convergence node (Foundational): the accumulated ws.integrity_score commits ws.path_bucket (one of TRULY_GOOD / GOOD_ENOUGH / EVIL; L4 plus L5 collapse into EVIL per HL_0024, L3 Drifting resolves to the nearest with a score-0 tie-break to EVIL per §3.5) and flips ws.path_lock_in_state to LOCKED at CH65_B09; the five texture bands are the DERIVED axis (§18, integrity_level per HL_0022); post-Ch-65 choices do not move the ending path (every later fork is path_dispatch); convergence_node_id CH_65 [SRC: T1_Integrity_Paths_Worldstates_Master # 3.4] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0024].
substrate_sources the Antarctic-governance corpus (the 1959 Antarctic Treaty and the ATCM; the 1991 Madrid Protocol; Joyner; the EPICA Dome-C ice core — EPICA Community Members 2004, Lüthi et al. 2008), the Overview-Effect corpus (Frank White 1987; Edgar Mitchell / Apollo 14; the samadhi self-description — psi claims held authorial), the Aboriginal-land corpus (terra nullius and Cooper v Stuart; Milirrpum 1971; Mabo No 2 1992; the Native Title Act 1993; Wik 1996; the Stolen Generations and Bringing Them Home 1997; Budj Bim; the Uluru Statement — AIATSIS-disciplined), and the phoenix corpus (the Bennu; Herodotus/Ovid/Pliny/Lactantius; the Fenghuang held distinct; the Firebird; Attar's Simurgh; the Jewish chol) — consolidated to the acquisition list and the Source registry (region_tags Antarctica / the Gathering / the Aboriginal-land record / the counter-campaign, care tier hard-line-with-elevated-Aboriginal-care) [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 65] [POPULATE→T0_Source_Material_Registry].
rewards per-quest reward map authored in-intent — the case entered whole, the land-operation reversed in daylight, the Phoenix Form unlocked, the path locked, the 22nd-slot familiar outcome determined (resolved at the Finales), the healer's-child decision made, and the hidden-inscription fragment; loot and seed anchors deferred [POPULATE→T0_RNG_Drop_Table] [POPULATE→T0_Quest_Seed_Registry].
encounter_mode/zone the_gathering_hall (the declare-exam CH65_B02/CH65_B03, the land-record beat CH65_B04, the vessel-climax combat CH65_B05, the re-bound-menagerie free-again CH65_B06, and the Phoenix Form CH65_B07), and the_pre_realm_threshold (the T6 substrate-perception attunement and the rising density CH65_B08, the lock CH65_B09, and the crossing CH65_B10) — consistent with the typed site rows and the direct dominant mode; the combat zone the apparatus and the intrusion, never a community [SRC: T1_World_Geography_Master # Ch 65].
integrity_level the accumulated band at the lock (L1 Truly Good +60/+100, L2 Good Enough +20/+59, L3 Drifting −19/+19, L4 Evil −59/−20, L5 Pure Evil −100/−60 per HL_0022) ← WS_002 · world_state_current per the accumulated world-state ← WS_003 · path_bucket COMMITTED at CH65_B09 (UNLOCKED → one of TRULY_GOOD / GOOD_ENOUGH / EVIL; L4 plus L5 collapse into EVIL, L3 to the nearest, score-0 → EVIL per §3.5) ← WS_004 · path_lock_in_state LOCKED ← WS_005
reveal_state HELD (the family nameable but Cassius held Ch 76, the thesis Ch 77, no Grand-Sage hint; the proto-Confession seeds Ch 69 without declaration; the deepest fact from Ch 64 carried felt-and-unspoken) · identity_hiding_status CONCEALMENT_WITH_HOSTILE_RECOGNITION, pressure PEAK-THEN-CROSSED (the counter-campaign culminates and closes) ← WS_025 · age_stage Adulthood (internal 18, designer-only, never surfaced; the young-adult plateau holds) ← WS_007
End-state carry-forward (Ch 65 end state pins Ch 66 start; the authored fold over the beat/fork deltas)
protagonist_age: 18 (internal, designer-only, never surfaced; the young-adult plateau holds).
age_stage: Adulthood (the stage holds forward).
companions_present: the healer's child (CHAR_0002) per the Departure/Continuation decision made here (the record public either way); Ana (CHAR_0017), the melee blade; the accreted found-family (the Ch-42-through-64 ties, incl. CHAR_0160/0161/0162 rooted to their regions).
familiars_present: the F4 Simurgh, the F7 Andean Condor (Mastery), the water familiars (Shell W1, Kasa W5, the Koi W3, the Sanur Octopus W4), the Amazon river-dolphin (Ch 50), the Jaguar (Ch 48), and the Bowhead whale (Ch 56) carried, plus the roster; the path-variable 22nd-slot familiar OUTCOME DETERMINED by the locked path here, resolved at the Finales (TG rejoins as legendary companion [the Ch-58 reunion held] / GE gifts a binding stone any tameable creature can wear to become legendary / Evil defeated in combat, its binding stone taken).
homes_established: Trade 7 Culinary Arts at Haiti; Trade 9 Inscription ancient-only at Egypt and Sámi (at full mastery); Trade 4 Herbalism modern in the Amazon; Trade 10 Fishing and Navigation (Swahili, Arctic; Pacific wayfinding deepened at Ch 63); Trade 3 Blacksmithing modern at Japan — no new home rooted at Ch 65.
found_family: the arc's accreted found-family carried, per the healer's-child decision at the threshold.
identity_hiding_status: CONCEALMENT_WITH_HOSTILE_RECOGNITION; pressure PEAK-THEN-CROSSED (the counter-campaign culminates and closes here; the threshold realms ahead are beyond the family's reach until Ch 76; the patriarch held Ch 76, the thesis and Grand Sage Ch 77).
path_states: THE ENDING PATH LOCKED at CH65_B09 (FORK_CH65_A) — ws.path_bucket committed to TRULY_GOOD / GOOD_ENOUGH / EVIL (bands derived, never option labels; L4 plus L5 → EVIL, L3 → nearest, score-0 → EVIL per §3.5), ws.path_lock_in_state LOCKED; post-Ch-65 forks are path_dispatch; the three great Transformations all crossed; T6 substrate-perception quest-earned; the Phoenix Form (A_F_012) unlocked; the Sealed Letter readable, its deepest third opening toward the Ch-66 Atlantis recognition; the deepest fact from Ch 64 carried held-and-unspoken.
counter_campaign_state: CULMINATED AND CLOSED — the whole modern-arc counter-campaign convened as the Gathering and answered; the four continental desk-directors reconvened for the recombination-exam here; the modern arc ends and the threshold realms (Ch 66-69) begin.
Seam state-diffs (machine-checkable exit→entry assertions over ws state keys; the prose bridge stays in the transitions file)
The CH_64 → CH_65 seam (Ch 65 start state = Ch 64 end state):
assert ws.age_stage: Adulthood (internal 18, designer-only) · ws.integrity_score: accumulated, all but at the lock (the last node before the lock-in) · ws.path_bucket: UNLOCKED (entry — commits at CH65_B09) · ws.path_lock_in_state: UNLOCKED (entry) · ws.identity_hiding_status: CONCEALMENT_WITH_HOSTILE_RECOGNITION (pressure WATCHED at entry, rising to PEAK as the Gathering convenes) · companions: CHAR_0002 (Ntala) and CHAR_0017 (Ana) and the accreted found-family (CHAR_0160/0161/0162) · the three great Transformations crossed; the deepest fact from Ch 64 confirmed (felt, never declared) carried in.
The CH_65 → CH_66 seam:
assert ws.path_bucket: LOCKED to one of TRULY_GOOD / GOOD_ENOUGH / EVIL (the derived commitment; Ch 66 reads the committed bucket — path_dispatch territory) · ws.path_lock_in_state: LOCKED · ws.age_stage: Adulthood (internal 18) · ws.identity_hiding_status: CONCEALMENT_WITH_HOSTILE_RECOGNITION (pressure PEAK-THEN-CROSSED — the counter-campaign closes; the family cannot reach the threshold realms) · ability: A_F_012 Phoenix Form unlocked and T6 substrate-perception quest-earned · companion CHAR_0002 (Ntala) per the RULED D-23 non-gating Departure/Continuation model — on TRULY_GOOD/GOOD_ENOUGH Continuation or Departure both genuinely offered (the for_life bond never departing via the integrity mechanic, §8.11.3); on the locked EVIL band the bond INVERTS (never breaks) — she crosses behind the record at the threshold seam, the inversion begun and resolving at the Ch-75 FORK_CH75_D encounter · the Sealed Letter readable, its deepest third opening toward the Ch-66 recognition.
Decisions surfaced (the Stage-2 canonical-question set, folded per the hard-line pattern)
Ch 65 is a canonical hard-line node; the SSBL Appendix-A Stage-2 canonical-question set is resolved here (folded into Decisions per the Ch-42/55/57/58 hard-line precedent — no separate stage2 doc). The grounded and canonically-defined resolutions are APPLIED with reasoning shown; the one genuine character-canon fork is flagged to Josh.
Q1 — the ending-path LOCK-IN mechanic — APPLIED (HL_0010/HL_0011, CVD §17.2): the accumulated integrity-score locks at Ch 65; pre-Ch-65 paths are fluid, post-Ch-65 the path is locked into what play earned; the true win condition is who the player has BEEN (accumulated-never-selected), and the recombination-exam is the mechanical proof — not a menu choice [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0010].
Q2 — the five-band → three-finale collapse — APPLIED (CVD §17.2 three-paths + §17.4 five-bands, RCM Frame 2): L1 Truly Good → the Truly-Good Finale; L2 Good Enough → the Good-Enough Finale; L3 Drifting → resolves to the closest Finale (textural variation, not a distinct ending); L4 Evil and L5 Pure Evil (terminal) → collapse into the single Evil-bucket Finale (per HL_0024 — "the Evil bucket collapses L4 plus L5 at Ch 65"); the five bands defined per HL_0022 (L1 +60/+100, L2 +20/+59, L3 -19/+19, L4 -59/-20, L5 -100/-60); the collapse operational and weight-bearing (the L5 operational-cold voice register per HL_0013), never cosmetic [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0022] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0024] [SRC: T1_Integrity_Paths_Worldstates_Master # 3.4].
Q3 — the path-variable 22nd-slot familiar — APPLIED + CORRECTED (CVD §17.12 → §7.2, the Ch-65 critic): the Ch-65 lock DETERMINES which of the three canonical Finale 22nd-slot outcomes will apply; the outcome itself RESOLVES AT THE FINALES (Ch 66-77), NOT staged as a bonding event at Ch 65 — the Truly-Good reunion is a Ch-58 (Truly-Good-path-only) event, not a Ch-65 one; the canonical Finale mechanics are Truly-Good — the familiar rejoins as a legendary companion; Good-Enough — the familiar gifts a binding stone that any tameable creature can wear to become legendary; Evil — the protagonist DEFEATS the familiar in combat and takes its binding stone (any tameable creature can wear it to become legendary), operational and weight-bearing (the draft's "bonding lands at the lock" and the vague Evil "ongoing survival" phrasing were corrected — the former mis-staged the event at Ch 65, the latter softened the canonical Evil-Finale mechanic) [SRC: T1_CVD_Creative_Vision_Document # 17.12] [SRC: T3_Familiars_Named].
Q4 — the healer's-child Departure/Continuation Decision — RULED (the ruling chain: the D-23 non-gating model 2026-07-12; the for_life inversion ruling 2026-07-17 [T1_Integrity §8.11.3]; the D-NTALA-ENC D-1/D-5 seating + D-2 F-STAR ruling 2026-07-19): the healer's child (CHAR_0002, the primary companion since Ch 3) faces a path-differentiated Departure-vs-Continuation decision at the Ch-65 threshold, woven as a side-quest closure (the record public either way, the years held either way); the healer's child is a for_life companion who NEVER departs via the integrity/loyalty mechanic (§8.11.3), so on TRULY_GOOD/GOOD_ENOUGH the Departure/Continuation is genuinely offered and NON-GATING, and on the locked EVIL band the for_life bond INVERTS (never breaks) — seeded at SC_CH65_threshold_crossing (she crosses behind the record, ws.relationship_history: ntala_inversion_begun) and resolving at the Ch-75 opposition encounter (FORK_CH75_D, ws.ntala_inversion_state one of STANDING_WITNESS or SILENCED, WS_040); T3_Core §3.4/§3.8 are updated to match and the audit-pending status is CLOSED [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 65].
Q5 — the Phoenix Form unlock (A_F_012) — APPLIED (canonical, A_F_012): the Fire-discipline capstone (tier 7.0, Adeptus Major; Fire 100 + all Fire questlines) unlocks at Ch 65, thematically the Hades-loop-closes-into-destiny made a power at the path-lock; grounded in the cross-cultural rebirth-bird convergence and held DISTINCT from the F4 Simurgh familiar (flagged for the familiar-system reconcile per the deep-research) [SRC: T0_Ability_Tree_Registry @ A_F_012].
Q6 — the recombination-exam / proto-Confession — APPLIED (BOSS_PERSONAS Ch-65 boss row): the four reconvened desk-directors each throw one signature argument built from the player's unresolved flags (the Tier-A #5 recombination-exam); the DECLARE verb (state the accumulated case) seeds the Ch-69 42 Negative Confessions without one word of declaration; T6 substrate-perception quest-earned here before the threshold realms [SRC: BOSS_PERSONAS # Ch 65].
Q7 — the Aboriginal-land-dispossession care beat — RESOLVED (care-critical, per the deep-research + the Ch-57 max-care carry): the family's documented land-dispossession OPERATION surfaces here (the Thread_Grid "surface in Ch 65 not Ch 57" note), exposed and countered by the documented daylight reversal (terra nullius → Mabo 1992 → the Native Title Act 1993 → Wik); the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples self-name, present-tense, NEVER a target (only the apparatus is opposed); the dispossession and the Stolen Generations held with gravity; AIATSIS discipline (sacred/secret referenced-not-reproduced); the antisemitism guardrail (a composite PUBLIC statutory office that loses in daylight, never the "cabal owns the land" trope); real figures audit-only [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0003] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0109].
Q8 — the reveal ceiling — APPLIED (§17.9): the reveal is 11+ chapters away; NO Grand-Sage hint (the Simurgh familiar's design-layer knowledge of the reveal stays design-only, never surfaced); Cassius held Ch 76, the thesis Ch 77; the proto-Confession seeds Ch 69 and the Gathering-as-accusation L3 is felt never declared; the Ch-64 deepest-fact carried held-and-unspoken; no meta-register in the body [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0043].
The Ellisar persona — ADOPTED from the canonical BOSS_PERSONAS Ch-65 cast (Praelector Vane Ellisar "The Gathering's Gavel," the Tier-A anchor #5): the presiding-examiner MO, the verdict-as-mirror break-point, DECLARE/STRIKE 25/45/30, the four reconvened desk-directors + The Threshold Guard + The Rising Density sub-encounters; the FIFTH-and-highest Political-Access operative, above the four desk-directors, serving the sector not a name he knows [SRC: BOSS_PERSONAS # Ch 65].
The WS4 modern-arc embodiment (this pass) — APPLIED (MEDIUM/additive, per docs/proposals/modern_arc_staging/modern_scope_59_65.md § CH_65): the RE-BOUND MENAGERIE (BE_0065_S1) added as a sub-encounter alongside the four reconvened desk-directors — the family's forcer (the Ch-63-revealed magic-worker; personal name Astrid Vellmark-Corr design-layer only) re-binds the very spirits the protagonist freed across Ch 59-64 and looses them together at the assembly's turn to force, the SUPERNATURAL MIRROR of the verdict-mirror (the room throwing back not her failures but her kindnesses, turned into weapons). Win-shape FREE-AGAIN (not combat): each re-bound spirit undone by the same reading/counter-attunement that freed it the first time, given back to its rest — the whole arc's freeings recombined into one release. Care: the menagerie is composed ONLY of the arc's FORCED VRIL-CONSTRUCTS (the family's own victims re-bound), NEVER animated from real sacred or historical dead; the most sacred (huaka'i pō Nightmarchers, Pele) were never forced and are not among them; the protagonist answers with compassion (the beat re-affirms the anti-appropriation ethic — the family forces/appropriates, the protagonist frees) — the wronged-dead cap held. Pillar-2 NET-FLAT: no new abstract materialized-argument construct is added (the menagerie is re-bound existing spirits; the declare-exam remains the rhetorical mirror). The living-supernatural weight rides the phoenix convergence (the Phoenix Form capstone A_F_012) + the rising atmospheric vril (Antarctica culture-less). REVEAL CEILING HELD ABSOLUTE: the forcer's occult reach is real and demonstrated but held to "occult reach" (no Cassius Ch 76 / thesis / Grand-Sage Ch 77 leak, no Simurgh design-layer hint surfaced); the Ch-64 deepest-fact carried held-and-unspoken, never re-declared; body prose keeps the forcer's personal name design-layer only. Mode direct + intensity PEAK preserved (HL_0048/HL_0049 hold); the menagerie is counter-attunement woven into the vessel-climax, not a mode swap. Registry: BE_0065 main (Ellisar) intact + BE_0065_S1 added (FAMILY_BRIEFED); Chapter_Index secondary_boss += BE_0065_S1, SQ += SQ_FREE_THE_REBOUND_MENAGERIE, narrative cells refreshed [SRC: BOSS_PERSONAS # Ch 65] [SRC: T0_Boss_Encounter_Registry @ BE_0065].
The v3 typing of the path lock (no player-choice fork; the derived path_dispatch) — RESOLVED (v3 conversion, 2026-07-15; Josh-override-able at any RR): the Ch-65 lock is a DERIVED commitment from the accumulated ws.integrity_score, not a player-facing "choose your ending" fork; v3 types it as FORK_CH65_A path_dispatch (the path_bucket (LOCKED) table dispatches the three committed buckets — no option/direction/integrity-delta rows) anchored at the lock beat CH65_B09, which writes ws.path_bucket + ws.path_lock_in_state (convergence_node_id CH_65); the score-0 Drifting tie-break resolves to EVIL per T1_Integrity §3.5 (the Josh-ruled 2026-07-15 tie-break). By design this chapter carries NO new integrity-delta player fork — the verdict was always the player's, accumulated never selected — which is faithful to the "not a choice she makes in a moment" canon [SRC: T1_Integrity_Paths_Worldstates_Master # 3.5].
The v2.5 third "site" fold — RESOLVED (placement judgment, v3 conversion): the v2.5 "Key sites" third entry ("The documented record set against the operation") is a rhetorical/record zone, not a terrain-bearing physical place; v3 realizes it as beat CH65_B04 (the land-record daylight-reversal beat) hosted within the_gathering_hall, preserving all its content (the Aboriginal land beat, the peoples the sovereign parties, the daylight reversal) rather than typing an artificial terrain on a non-place [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 65].
The Ch-65 boss registry FK join — VERIFIED CLEAN (v3 conversion): BE_0065 (declare/strike, axis 25/45/30, threads T01;T03, FAMILY_BRIEFED, care_tier elevated) and BE_0065_S1 (attune/purge, axis 30/35/35, thread T03) match BOSS_PERSONAS and both spine versions — no verb/axis/name drift to queue; one non-load-bearing observation reported to the orchestrator (the BE_0065 target_type auto-slug reads "held_ch74" while the boss_name column + the spine + HL_0035 all carry Cassius held Ch 76 — a derived-slug artifact, not propagated into any new text; no cell correction queued as the canonical fields agree) [SRC: BOSS_PERSONAS # Ch 65].
The BE_0065_S1 "VERIFIED CLEAN" certification — CORRECTED (batch-7 verify, 2026-07-15): the FK join checked verbs/axis/threads but missed a membership contradiction in the boss_name prose — the row carried a stale b27da74-era parenthetical ("the aku-aku and taniwha are self-willed and cannot be re-bound — absent from the menagerie by Option C / the J11 care call") contradicting this chapter's own creatures line (the Ch-63 wrenched taniwha / driven aku-aku AMONG the re-bound), misattributing Option C (which ruled forced-then-freed per ecf2caa), and citing the unruled J11. The parenthetical was replaced with the F5 Option-C enumeration + care riders and the target_type slug re-cut at the fix-forward; the spine prose needed no change.
The ER-2 freed-ludus reciprocation (this pass) — WIRED (weave pass; additive and non-gating): CH_28 named this chapter as its consumer and CH_65 never read the mark. The upstream end is CH_28's BE_0028_S2 win block, verbatim — "win {liberation — break the overseer and free the ludus; ws.community_state_per_region: +rome_ludus_fighters_freed; the freed-fighters community mark forward_track [CH_65] (ER-2: Ch 12 Ouidah → Ch 28 → Ch 65)}" — with the machine write at CH28_B07, verbatim — "out: {local.ludus_freed: true, ws.community_state_per_region: +rome_ludus_fighters_freed}" — and the asymmetry stated in the corpus's own voice, verbatim — "The sand's lethal path is the integrity-gated route the L-GLADIATOR connective item anchors (the killed opponents do not return at Ch 65, while the freed fighters do)". The downstream end already existed here as a reading surface (CH65_B03's in: line reads the accumulated community marks, and this chapter's SQ2 already carries the L-GLADIATOR-FREE-RETURN captive-to-liberator payoff for the Ch 59-64 half) but named only the Ch-48 and Ch-59 marks, and the CH65_B03 reveal line scoped the read to Ch 39-65, a range that excludes Ch 28. Wired here as the BASE read: rome_ludus_fighters_freed_ch28_mark added to the CH65_B03 in: line, one clause added to the CH65_B03 objective (where a charge reaches back to the Roman arena, the ludus she broke open answers it, the sand's lethal route carrying no such answer), and the reveal line's range restated to include the ER-2 mark carried from Ch 28. The read follows the FR-01 mechanic exactly — per-community, non-gating, purely additive, the exam resolving identically without it. Nothing is authored: the cohort already exists at SC_CH28_freeing_the_ludus (participants protagonist, CHAR_0017, the freed fighters), and the freed fighters stand as honored allies on the record, never targets and never spectacle, holding CH_28's own care line (HL_0003). No pattern, agent-noun, or antagonist framing enters the new clause; the reveal ceiling, the fork table, the path_bucket lock rows, the Departure/Continuation model, and the Re-Bound Menagerie block are untouched [SRC: WHOLE_ARC_CONNECTIVE_WEB_INVENTORY # L-GLADIATOR-FREE-RETURN] [SRC: BOSS_PERSONAS # BE_0028_S2].
FORK_CH65_A care_band elevated — RATIONALE RECORDED (batch-7 verify ask): the fork anchors at the non-cultural path-lock beat (the pre-realm threshold; no protected community present at the anchor site), so "elevated" (the chapter's own care register) rather than "protected-elevated" is the grounded band; the chapter's protected-community content (the Aboriginal land-record daylight-reversal) rides CH65_B04, not the fork.
