Ch 57 — Aboriginal Kakadu (the Second Transformation): MAXIMUM-CARE BUILD BRIEF

Produced by the ch57-highcare-prep workflow (wf whiae45np, 3 fresh-context agents; public academic scholarship + repo tier docs only — NO sacred/secret/restricted/gender-restricted content sought or surfaced). Ch 57 is the single hardest §17.1 node: HARD-LINE, MAXIMUM-care (CVD §6.2 Tier-1.7, with Ch 29 Sámi + Ch 42 Haiti), AUTHOR-IN-LOOP + a Stage-2 canonical-question review for Josh. The deep authoring builds FROM this brief and stays drafted until Josh's batch sign-off. Grounding: Clarkson et al. 2017 (Madjedbebe 65,000-yr), Stanner (the Dreaming/'everywhen'), Deborah Bird Rose (Nourishing Terrains; Reports from a Wild Country), Gammage (The Biggest Estate on Earth), Pascoe (Dark Emu, held with Sutton & Walshe critical discipline), Norris & Hamacher (Aboriginal astronomy), public UNESCO Kakadu heritage, public AIATSIS protocols. CARE POSTURE binds every line: Bininj/Mungguy present-tense/plural/sovereign/self-naming; Elders inviolate + never fought; no antagonist/no community-combat/no fauna-combat; Songlines + rock-art referenced-as-FORM never reproduced; the Continuous Dreaming as living ontology never past-myth; composite-by-nation no single-coordinate pinning; the thesis/Grand-Sage firewalled.

PART A — SUBSTRATE + CARE SYNTHESIS

CH 57 SUBSTRATE + CARE SYNTHESIS — the maximum-care L2 layer and the register the author builds FROM. This is the single hardest §17.1 node (CVD §17.1 L937; CVD §6.2 maximum-depth tier L273-277; HL_0008/HL_0106): no antagonist-family presence, no community combat, no combat against Aboriginal Elders; AIATSIS-registered material and songlines referenced-as-form and NEVER reproduced/composed/depicted; the Continuous Dreaming rendered as living relational reality, never past myth or fantasy device; composite-by-nation framing with NO single-coordinate community pinning. Sources below are the PUBLIC academic scholarship only; nothing sacred, secret, gender-restricted, or ceremonially-closed is surfaced or invented. ====================================================================

PART 1 — KAKADU AS A LIVING CULTURAL LANDSCAPE (present-tense sovereignty)

====================================================================

The Bininj/Mungguy peoples, self-naming.

Joint management and living self-determination (the sovereignty spine, all present-tense).

The ~65,000-year occupation depth — documented archaeology, not mystery.

Ubirr and Nourlangie/Burrunggui — PUBLICLY-interpreted heritage rock-art, referenced-as-form.

====================================================================

PART 2 — THE CONTINUOUS DREAMING AS LIVING ONTOLOGY (the exact register)

====================================================================

The scholarship the register rests on.

The exact register that avoids "past myth" / "fantasy device":

The Elder-recognition beat — the ontology FELT, never spoken.

====================================================================

PART 3 — CIVILIZATIONAL MARKS (Aboriginal Australia as builders-of-knowledge, L2)

====================================================================

This is the §9.5-mandatory field and the deliberate counter to rendering the culture only as bearers-of-myth (CHAPTER_BUILD_TARGET §5). Each is credited as the culture's OWN independent invention (Frame A; CVD §19.1) — never hyperdiffusion, never "taught by outsiders."

====================================================================

PART 4 — ANTI-FRINGE / FRAME-A FLAGS (region-specific)

====================================================================

Every claim grounds in real science, history, and scholarship (CVD §17.1 anti-fringe grounding L933; §19.1 Frame A). Region-specific at-risk claims and their canonical framing:

====================================================================

CRITICAL: WHAT MUST STAY AIATSIS-PROTECTED / UN-SURFACED (the do-not-cross list)

====================================================================

Governed by AIATSIS protocols (AIATSIS Code of Ethics for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Research, 2020; Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property / ICIP principles; free, prior, informed consent; the recognition that some knowledge is restricted). CVD §17.1 L929/L937, HL_0007, HL_0008, HL_0094, HL_0110, HL_0111 all bind these:

CARRIED DECISION (flag, do not resolve here) — the Ch 57 fauna-combat tension. WGM L744/L748 and Ruling 5 (CHAPTER_BUILD_TARGET §4) list "dangerous-fauna modes" as a playable layer; CVD §17.1 L933-937 and the T4 substrate say NO fauna combat at Ch 57 (boss persona flags the T1_Combat-permits vs T4/§17.1-forbids conflict as an open [DECISION NEEDED - JOSH]). Safe default for this build: NO fauna combat and NO community combat, satisfying the stricter CVD §17.1 hard line; render dangerous fauna (saltwater crocodile — reference as the real apex predator and its cosmological significance in Aboriginal tradition WITHOUT a sacred name or restricted knowledge; plus goanna, dingo, echidna, platypus, freshwater croc, magpie goose, barramundi) as EVADE-AND-SURVIVE / environmental-hazard, not as kill-targets. Combat routes ONLY through environmental/atmospheric hazard, the astral/Dreaming protocol (HL_0080), and vril-substrate-defense. Fauna anchors in pack: CR_0122 Cane toad (invasive — an ecology/anti-fringe mark, documented environmental harm) and CR_0130 Bunyip (a water-being from broadly-public Aboriginal-derived folklore; handle as referenced folklore, not appropriated restricted content).

====================================================================

CONTINUITY THE AUTHOR CARRIES IN (from CH_56 end-state)

====================================================================

Protagonist 18 (internal, never surfaced); companions the healer's child CHAR_0002 (journal-keeper, journal at its publish-decision — Ch 57 is the canonical journal-PUBLICATION event, HL_0070) and Ana CHAR_0017; familiars incl. Amazon river-dolphin, Jaguar, F7 Andean Condor at Mastery, Bowhead whale W7 (the memory-bridge to the Ch 29 Sami era); identity CONCEALMENT_WITH_HOSTILE_RECOGNITION, pressure HIGH; travel Vimana-enabled; Device-5 (Throat) forced-Ether-binding window opened Ch 56-57 (HL_0119) — confirm the exact binding beat at this build; path near L3 Neutral; the Ch 56 angakok wordless-recognition is the deliberate rehearsal for the Ch 57 Elder recognition. Second Transformation (Recognition) sits between Ch 55 First (Physical) and Ch 58 Third (Narrative). The chapter's non-combat victories — the Elder recognition and the journal going public — are the arc's ethical climax and the true center, not the boss.

The one-line design frame (CH10_57_SIGNIFICANCE): Ch 57 is relief-as-REVELATION, not relief-as-emptiness — the chapter where the game's central wound (systematic erasure of pre-deluvian human knowledge) is shown to have a SURVIVOR: the oldest continuous living culture proves the erasure was never total, by DURATION. Depth (Ch 10) answered by duration (Ch 57). Carry it with weight and the culture's own agency; show, never tell.

PART B — CHAPTER DESIGN (protected combat + the load-bearing elder-recognition scene + the Second Transformation + journal publication)

====================================================================

CH 57 AUSTRALIA / ABORIGINAL KAKADU — CHAPTER DESIGN (maximum-care)

The Second Transformation (Recognition) · the single hardest §17.1 node

====================================================================

CARE POSTURE (binds every line below; not restated per-beat)

--------------------------------------------------------------------

(1) THE FULLY-PROTECTED COMBAT FRAMING — real action with zero protected target

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Ch 57 is the canonical exception to Velheim-intrusion combat: there is NO antagonist family presence, NO Inner Council, NO Cassius, NO community combat, and (this build) NO fauna combat — all absolute [SRC: HL_0008, HL_0106; T4_HoV §8.3/§9.2]. "Combat absence is creatively fatal" is answered NOT by absence but by routing a real, high-stakes action layer through environmental/atmospheric + astral (Dreaming) + vril-substrate-defense modes at relief-tier intensity [SRC: HL_0050, HL_0051, HL_0080].

The playable L1 is a genuine action-protocol, not a cutscene:

THE CONCRETE ENVIRONMENTAL/ASTRAL CAPSTONE (not a person, not an animal, not sacred):

--------------------------------------------------------------------

(2) THE ABORIGINAL-ELDER-RECOGNITION SCENE — the load-bearing beat

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Canon: this is the ONLY moment in 77 chapters where a human being describes the protagonist accurately — the Elder recognizes her as being of the Dreaming (ever-present reality), and names, in the culture's own relational terms, what she IS [SRC: WGM #Ch 57; RCM Ch 57; CVD §17.7]. It is the true emotional center of the chapter — a bigger event than any fight.

How to render it with full weight AND full care:

REVEAL FIREWALL inside the scene (critical): the Elder names what the protagonist IS (a being of the Dreaming / of the living substrate, displaced, ancient), and stops there. She does NOT name, prophesy, or hint the endgame — no Grand Sage, no thesis, no "one consciousness," no destiny, no family pattern. The accurate description is of her NATURE, not the arc's secret. The metaphysic is FELT in the room and never spoken past the point of "she is of the Dreaming" [SRC: HL_0043, HL_0046; CVD §17.9]. See section (4).

--------------------------------------------------------------------

(3) THE SECOND TRANSFORMATION (RECOGNITION) MECHANIC + THE JOURNAL-PUBLICATION EVENT

--------------------------------------------------------------------

The Three-Transformations arc: Ch 55 First Transformation = Physical (the Vimana; sequential travel becomes simultaneous); Ch 57 Second Transformation = Recognition (this chapter); Ch 58 Third Transformation = Narrative (the journal becomes shared; path-home revealed; overview effect) [SRC: WGM §Transformation notes; RCM Ch 57; T3_Sup Ch 55/56].

The mechanic (Recognition is NOT a power-grab — it is self-knowledge consolidated, and it is anchored to a real vril device binding):

THE JOURNAL-PUBLICATION EVENT (Ch 56 commit → Ch 57 publish → Ch 58 becomes-shared):

--------------------------------------------------------------------

(4) REVEAL DISCIPLINE — post-reveal, no antagonist, no thesis leak

--------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------------

(5) BOSS STRUCTURE (Pillar-8) — a real playable environmental/astral fight

--------------------------------------------------------------------

MAIN BOSS — "The Dreaming-Site Protocol" (role-title; MAXIMUM hard line — no personal name, by canon). The "boss" is a PLACE under a non-sacred negative accretion, not an enemy; the antagonist is "the Scour" (the accretion), which is to be restrained and purged, never a cultural representative [SRC: pack boss_persona; HL_0080; NAMING_METHOD role-title for protected/environmental]. Boss_id is [POPULATE→T0_Boss_Encounter_Registry] (BE_0057 chapter-aligned; flag the Ch 50–56 plus-one BOSS_PERSONAS slip at RR-62).

--------------------------------------------------------------------

(6) CONCRETE MAIN-QUEST BEATS (hook → pivot → escalation → climax → resolution)

--------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------------

(7) EVERYTHING-WOVEN, CIVILIZATIONAL MARKS, SIDE-QUESTS, ANTI-FRINGE

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Five Pillar-1.12 beats all present (relief-tier): combat (the Dreaming-Site Protocol + the Build-Up/escarpment hazards), puzzle (the 4-step perceive/restrain/purge, the Emu reading, route-reading), learning (deep-time + Dreaming + astronomy + land-management + Native-Title history), character (the Elder recognition — the emotional center), transformation (the Second Transformation + Throat binding + journal publication) [SRC: HL_0048, HL_0049]. Mode-variety holds: Ch 56 stealth, Ch 57 perceive/puzzle-dominant, Ch 58 next peak — no two consecutive share a dominant mode; intensity is a relief valley between Ch 55/58 peaks (no three consecutive peaks or valleys) [SRC: HL_0048, HL_0049, HL_0050].

CIVILIZATIONAL MARKS (mandatory L2 — the culture as builders-of-knowledge, the deliberate counter to bearers-of-myth-only; credit Aboriginal agency; NO hyperdiffusion, NO fringe) [SRC: CHAPTER_BUILD_TARGET §5; CVD §19 Frame-A]:

SIDE-QUESTLINES (authored in-spine; T0_Questline_Index is a stub):

ANTI-FRINGE / FRAME-A (standing block):

--------------------------------------------------------------------

(8) DECISIONS SURFACED / FLAGS FOR JOSH

--------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------------

KEY FILES / ANCHORS

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Governing hard lines: HL_0008 (Ch 57 no-family/no-community + astral routing), HL_0106 (no antagonist presence absolute), HL_0050/HL_0051 (relief-tier, combat-absence-fatal), HL_0080 (4-step environmental-boss protocol), HL_0094 (recognition-not-mastery-acquisition; perceive-don't-perform), HL_0070/HL_0071 (journal publication + path-voice), HL_0119 (Throat binding), HL_0043/HL_0046 (thesis/Grand-Sage firewall), HL_0007 (registered cultural property referenced-not-reproduced).

PART C — the hard-line STAGE-2 CANONICAL-QUESTION SET (batch-ready for Josh)

Ch 57 (Australia, Aboriginal Kakadu) — Stage-2 canonical-question set for Josh

Node: CH_57, Northern Territory / Kakadu region, the Second Transformation (Recognition). MAXIMUM-care, HARD-LINE node — CVD §6.2 maximum-depth tier (with Ch 29 Sámi and Ch 42 Haiti); the single strictest §17.1 chapter in the 77-arc: the only chapter within the House of Velheim's ~5,000-year operational era with NO antagonist-family presence and NO combat against community representatives (CVD §17.1 Ch-57 hard line; HL_0008; HL_0106). Per SSBL Appendix A this hard-line node carries a Stage-2 canonical-question review before authoring AND author-in-loop at Stage 4.

Grounding used (public academic scholarship + repo tier docs only; no sacred/secret/restricted content sought or surfaced): CVD §6.1/§6.2, §17.1 (the Care Doctrine — the Kxao rule, the Liqä rule, protected-property-referenced-not-reproduced), §17.7, §17.9 (thesis-never-declared / Grand Sage silent — HL_0043/HL_0046); the HL set HL_0007/0008/0094/0106/0110/0111/0119/0070; T1_World_Geography_Master [ACTIVE v2.3] # Ch 57; docs/spine/CH_56.md (predecessor end-state — the wordless angakok recognition-precursor); docs/proposals/CHAPTER_BUILD_TARGET.md §4 (Ruling 5); Stanner, The Dreaming and Other Essays (1979, the "everywhen"); Deborah Bird Rose, Nourishing Terrains (1996) and Reports from a Wild Country (2004); Clarkson et al., Nature 2017 (Madjedbebe, ~65,000-yr occupation); Norris & Hamacher, The Astronomy of Aboriginal Australia (2009, the Emu in the Sky); public UNESCO Kakadu World Heritage (1981; re-inscribed 1987; 1992 boundary expansion); public AIATSIS research-ethics protocols; Parks Australia / Kakadu public joint-management framing (the collective self-designation Bininj/Mungguy).

Discipline note on this document itself: it names no specific clan estate, no living Traditional Owner, no sacred site-story, no songline content, and no restricted/secret or gender-restricted material. Where a restricted category must be flagged as a guardrail it is named only as a category to be excluded, never described.

Below: 8 decisions. Questions 1-6 are the mandated (a)-(f). Questions 7-8 are two additional cardinal forks that a maximum-care Aboriginal-Australia node cannot ship without a ruling — both are genuine source-level contradictions already latent in the substrate, not speculation. Each is framed batch-ready: the question, why it is cardinal, the researched proposed resolution, and the decision the build will take absent an override.

---

Q1 (a) — Which Aboriginal nation(s) / peoples framing?

QUESTION. Does Josh accept the composite-by-nation framing — the Aboriginal peoples of the Kakadu region referenced by their public collective self-designation "Bininj/Mungguy," with the strict no-single-community-pinning discipline (no specific clan estate, no named living Traditional Owner group, no single-coordinate community pin) — or does he want a narrower/broader consultative framing (e.g., stay at the generic "the Aboriginal nations of the Kakadu region," or conversely commission a specific-nation consultative relationship)?

WHY CARDINAL. §17.1 requires each culture to appear under its own self-naming, never a stereotyped externally-imposed label; and CVD §6 / WGM v2.3 Ch 57 mandate "composite-by-Aboriginal-nation framing … no specific community-identifying-coordinate single-pinning" at 12.85°S–13.85°S / 132°E–133°E. The tension is real: "Bininj/Mungguy" IS the term the Kakadu peoples themselves use in public joint-management materials (so using it honours self-naming), but pinning any single clan estate or named group to a coordinate would violate the no-pinning discipline and risk surfacing custodial detail that is not ours to place. This is the foundational framing every other beat inherits.

PROPOSED RESOLUTION (recommend ACCEPT). Use the publicly-attested collective self-designation — "Bininj/Mungguy, the Aboriginal peoples of the Kakadu region" — drawn only from public UNESCO / Parks Australia framing, at the composite regional level. Never a specific clan estate, never a named living Traditional Owner or group, never a single-coordinate community pin; the ~1° composite coordinate box stands as substrate geography only. The peoples are rendered present-tense, plural, and sovereign (the CH_56 Inuit-framing precedent — "exactly and unremarkably present, a nation living its own life"). BUILD DEFAULT ABSENT OVERRIDE: composite Bininj/Mungguy self-naming at regional level; no pinning.

---

Q2 (b) — The Elder-recognition scene's exact content boundary (the single most sensitive beat)

QUESTION. In the one scene in all 77 chapters where a human being describes the protagonist accurately (the canonical Aboriginal-Elder recognition), what may the Elder name and see, and what stays closed? Specifically: does the Elder recognise the CHILD (what she is — a being of/from the Dreaming), and nothing more — with the thesis, the Grand Sage, any sacred/secret/gender-restricted content, and any specific site-story all held closed?

WHY CARDINAL. This is the emotional centre of the chapter and the highest-risk care beat in the game. Two hard lines collide here and must not be crossed: (1) §17.9 / HL_0043 / HL_0046 — the thesis is NEVER declared and the Grand Sage NEVER speaks; the Elder must describe the protagonist accurately WITHOUT surfacing the thesis or reading as a Grand-Sage hint. (2) §17.1 — the Elder is a community representative: inviolate, never fought, never a guide-for-hire or quest-object, holding their own agency; and no sacred/secret/restricted or gender-restricted knowledge may be surfaced or invented, and no sacred name may sit on this mortal (the Kxao rule), and the figure may never be a revered-real-person recast as anything diminishing (the Liqä rule). The CH_56 angakok scene was authored as the deliberate wordless rehearsal for exactly this beat.

PROPOSED RESOLUTION (recommend ACCEPT with the closed-set fixed). The Elder recognises and names the PROTAGONIST truly — sees what she is (a being of the Dreaming, i.e. of the real substrate the game operates), rendered as relational-ontology recognition: the person is seen and named accurately, as one consciousness truly perceiving another (Rose's relational ontology; the recognition IS the Second Transformation, per Q6). The Elder is a fictional composite Bininj/Mungguy knowledge-holder with their own life and agency, present-tense and inviolate, never fought. WHAT STAYS CLOSED, absolutely: the thesis and any Grand-Sage register (the Elder describes the child, never the design-truth); any sacred, secret, ceremonially-closed, or gender-restricted content; any specific site-story or restricted object-category; any ceremony performed on-screen. The scene resolves in few words or in silence (HL_0041 silence-as-valid-register; the CH_56 wordless precedent), never a rite, never combat. Sub-facet to confirm inside this ruling: the canonical cross-recognition where the Ch-29 Sámi joik is recognised alongside the songline tradition (the CROSSTRAD row, Thread 1) must be handled as mutual honouring of two living forms, NOT a comparative-antiquity "world's two oldest" ranking claim about living peoples and NOT the Elder engaging/reproducing the joik's protected content — see Q3. BUILD DEFAULT: Elder recognises the child accurately, closed-set held, wordless/near-wordless register.

---

Q3 (c) — The Songline / rock-art referenced-as-form boundary (what may be evoked vs never reproduced)

QUESTION. Where exactly is the line between EVOKING the form and REPRODUCING the content — for (i) Songlines and (ii) the Ubirr / Nourlangie rock-art of Kakadu?

WHY CARDINAL. §17.1 / §6.1 / HL_0007 bind: "AIATSIS-registered artwork, joiks, songline content, and protected ceremony are referenced, never reproduced or staged as spectacle." HL_0094 fixes the mastery boundary: the protagonist "perceives songline geographical encoding at Adeptus Exemptus and above but does not claim or perform — Ch 57 scene is recognition, not mastery acquisition." HL_0111 extends the same discipline to the SFX layer (no songline-imitating audio). The failure modes are precise and easy to trip: composing a "songline," rendering a specific Ubirr/Nourlangie artwork, or having the protagonist perform/claim the form.

PROPOSED RESOLUTION (recommend ACCEPT). Songlines are referenced AS FORM only — the CONCEPT that Country is inscribed, sung, and navigable-as-living-inscription is evoked (the Thread 17 / Thread 21 "living inscription / living axis" register), and the protagonist PERCEIVES the geographical encoding at Adeptus Exemptus but never claims, composes, or performs it (HL_0094). No songline text, melody, route-content, or lyric is ever authored, sung, or reproduced. Rock-art: Ubirr and Nourlangie are referenced as the UNESCO-inscribed World Heritage rock-art regions they publicly are (public heritage fact), and rendered set-dressing is original, non-registered, non-specific — NO AIATSIS-registered artwork and NO specific extant painting is reproduced, traced, or depicted; no restricted imagery is surfaced. All of the above holds identically at the SFX/audio and art layers (HL_0111 / HL_0110). BUILD DEFAULT: form/concept evoked, content never reproduced; perceive-not-perform; no registered artwork depicted.

---

Q4 (d) — The Continuous Dreaming rendered as real (L3) vs the never-past-myth line — and its relationship to the vril substrate

QUESTION. Two parts. (1) Confirm the Dreaming is rendered as living, ever-present reality and relational ontology, NEVER "past mythology," "creation myths/legends," or a fantasy device. (2) The care-nuance that must be ruled: what is the relationship between the game's vril metaphysic and the Dreaming — are they held as parallel/honoured-on-its-own-terms, or does the game risk "explaining" the Dreaming AS vril (a reductive subsumption)?

WHY CARDINAL. §17.1 "Real is real" makes the metaphysical canonically real, and the era field is fixed as "Continuous Dreaming — ever-present, not past mythology" (WGM v2.3; pack goal_anchors). Stanner's "everywhen" and Rose's relational ontology are the scholarly anchors; rendering the Dreaming as bygone myth would be the exact erasure §17.1 forbids. The subtler risk is the L3 mechanic: Ch 57's canonical combat routes through astral/Dreaming mode and vril-substrate-defense (HL_0008; HL_0080), so the game's own vril system touches the Dreaming directly — and a careless framing could read as "the Dreaming is really just vril," which would subordinate a living people's ontology to the game's invented metaphysic. §17.9 also binds: the L3 truth is FELT, never declared.

PROPOSED RESOLUTION (recommend ACCEPT, both parts). (1) The Dreaming is the ever-present living reality and relational ontology of the Bininj/Mungguy and Aboriginal Australians broadly, rendered on its own terms (Stanner; Rose) — never past-tense, never "legend," never fantasy set-dressing. (2) Held as HONOURED-IN-PARALLEL, not explained-away: the game's astral/vril substrate is the mechanical layer through which the protagonist PERCEIVES (her elven/Adeptus faculty), but the Dreaming is never authored as "actually vril" or reduced to the game's system; the two are co-present, the Aboriginal ontology credited with its own truth and priority (this mirrors the CH_56 qaumaniq handling — a vril-PARALLEL named on the culture's own terms, felt not equated). L3 stays felt, never declared; no Grand-Sage hint (HL_0043). BUILD DEFAULT: ever-present-real, on-its-own-terms, parallel-not-reductive, felt-not-declared.

---

Q5 (e) — Should a real living-community / AIATSIS consultation protocol GATE production?

QUESTION. Beyond documentary-source discipline, should ACTUAL AIATSIS-protocol review and genuine consultation/authorization with Kakadu Bininj/Mungguy Traditional Owners be a binding PRODUCTION gate (art, voice, SFX, and any surfaced cultural content) before this chapter's assets ship — with the spine build treated as design-substrate-only pending that gate?

WHY CARDINAL. This is the one place the repo's standing "deep-research-over-buying-books, stay-autonomous" default is explicitly insufficient. §17.1 names AIATSIS-registered material as referenced-not-reproduced; HL_0110 sets living-culture synthetic-voice DEFAULT and prohibits cross-cultural voice cloning; HL_0111 binds an SFX cultural-authenticity audit. The RCM substrate already flags "AIATSIS-consultation-protocol binding framework … Tier-1 source-processing gate." A maximum-care living-community chapter is precisely where represent-with-care can require real people in the loop, and only Josh can authorize/commission that. It is also a legal/ethical exposure question (registered cultural property; moral rights; community authority), not merely a craft one.

PROPOSED RESOLUTION (recommend ACCEPT — bind the gate; flag as author-owned). YES: bind a real-world consultation/authorization gate at the production stage as a hard gate Josh owns — genuine AIATSIS-protocol review and Kakadu Traditional-Owner consultation/sign-off before any Ch-57 cultural asset (art, voice, SFX, surfaced content) is finalized. The spine entry proceeds now as DESIGN SUBSTRATE ONLY (grounded in public scholarship), carries the gate as an explicit unmet production precondition, and asserts nothing that pre-empts community authority. This is the correct reading of §6.2 "author-in-loop at Stage 4" for a maximum-care node. DECISION NEEDED: Josh confirms (i) the gate is bound and author-owned, and (ii) whether spine authoring may proceed as substrate ahead of it (recommended yes). BUILD DEFAULT ABSENT OVERRIDE: author spine as substrate; record the consultation gate as a binding, unmet, author-owned production precondition.

Q6 (f) — The Second-Transformation-Recognition + journal-publication canonical beats

QUESTION. Confirm the canonical beat structure: (1) Ch 57 is the Second Transformation (Recognition) — the middle of the three (Ch 55 Physical / Ch 57 Recognition / Ch 58 Narrative, per the T7 Three-Transformations framework) — and it is TRIGGERED BY the Elder-recognition (being seen truly = the protagonist's self-understanding shifts), a non-combat transformation. (2) The journal goes public here (HL_0070: "Ch 57 Australia journal made public on Truly Good path"), publishing the family/evidence record while WITHHOLDING all Aboriginal sacred/songline content. (3) The Device-5 (Throat) forced-Ether binding lands at Ch 56-57 (HL_0119) — confirm the exact beat.

WHY CARDINAL. These are the chapter's canonical non-combat spine and its cross-arc hinges. HL_0070 fixes the journal anchors (Ch 56 decision-to-publish → Ch 57 made public on TGP → Ch 58 becomes shared; never completed on Evil path); HL_0071 fixes the path-variable journal voice. The Second Transformation is path-load-bearing and must read as the arc's biggest NON-combat victory (the boss persona is explicit: "the true emotional center is not a boss at all"). The withholding of Aboriginal content FROM the published journal is itself a §17.1 care beat (the protagonist protects what she was shown — the pack's Thread 11 note: "journal public release — adjacent material only; songline content withheld"). HL_0119 leaves the exact Ch-56-vs-Ch-57 Throat-binding beat flagged for confirmation.

PROPOSED RESOLUTION (recommend ACCEPT). (1) Second Transformation (Recognition) = the Elder-recognition beat; non-combat; the recognition IS the transformation (one consciousness truly seeing another shifts the protagonist's self-understanding). (2) On Truly Good path the healer's-child journal (CHAR_0002; the evidence-instrument since Ch 50) is made public here, publishing the Velheim/evidence record — and EXPLICITLY withholding every Aboriginal sacred, songline, and site-specific element (the withholding authored as a visible care choice); path-variable per HL_0070/HL_0071 (Good Enough / neutral differ in register; Evil = journal never completed). (3) Confirm the Device-5 (Throat) forced-Ether binding beat resolves AT Ch 57 (the Second Transformation), opening from the Ch-56 Device-5 window (CH_56 end-state), per HL_0119 — flagged for RR confirmation. BUILD DEFAULT: recognition = Second Transformation; journal public on TGP with Aboriginal content withheld; Throat binding at Ch 57.

Q7 (additional, cardinal) — The "dangerous-fauna combat layer": a genuine source contradiction to resolve

QUESTION. Is a dangerous-fauna combat layer (e.g. saltwater crocodile as environmental-survival hazard) a PERMITTED playable layer at Ch 57, or is Ch 57 uniquely fauna-combat-free? The sources contradict each other and must be reconciled by ruling.

WHY CARDINAL. This is a live, unresolved contradiction already carried as [DECISION NEEDED - JOSH] in the boss roster (pack boss_personas, Ch 57 "CARRIED FLAG"): WGM v2.3 # Ch 57 explicitly lists "dangerous-fauna modes per Ruling 5 plus CVD §17.1" and "the … dangerous-fauna combat layer per Ruling 5 is the playable surface"; and CHAPTER_BUILD_TARGET §4 (Ruling 5) states "Fauna combat is permitted" at protected chapters. BUT the CVD §17.1 Ch-57 hard-line default, T4, and the boss-persona build all take the STRICTER no-fauna-combat, no-community-combat reading. Additionally, the crocodile (freshwater and saltwater) carries documented cosmological/totemic significance in Aboriginal tradition — a totemic animal must never be a combat target (§17.1; HL_0072 conscious-fauna substrate). The chapter cannot be authored consistently until this is one way or the other.

PROPOSED RESOLUTION (recommend the STRICTER default; Josh to ratify or override). Default to NO fauna combat and NO community combat — the hard-line-clean reading that satisfies the CVD §17.1 Ch-57 maximum-discipline line; combat routes ONLY through the environmental/atmospheric and astral/Dreaming and vril-substrate-defense modes (HL_0008; HL_0080). IF Josh instead ratifies WGM v2.3's dangerous-fauna layer, it must be constrained to non-totemic, genuinely-dangerous fauna as environmental-survival hazard only (never sport, never a totemic/cosmologically-significant animal as target, never a community), and the CVD §17.1 line + boss roster must be reconciled to match. DECISION NEEDED: strict (recommended) vs WGM-ratified-constrained. BUILD DEFAULT ABSENT OVERRIDE: no fauna combat; environmental + astral + vril-substrate only.

Q8 (additional, cardinal) — The Woomera as a Trickery legendary-weapon anchor: acceptable, or does it need reframing?

QUESTION. HL_0056 assigns "one Trickery Ch 57 Australia" weapon within the locked 72-count, and the substrate rows it as WPN_072 Woomera (Trickery / Range), tied to the Trade 8 Engineering Trickery-side legendary-weapon anchor (WGM v2.3; pack). The woomera is a living, culturally-significant Aboriginal spear-thrower still in use. Is making it a player "legendary weapon" acceptable, and under what framing?

WHY CARDINAL. This is a §17.1 care call, not a mechanics call. The woomera is a real Aboriginal invention and everyday hunting/utility technology — publicly documented, generally not sacred/restricted (distinct from restricted sacred object categories, which must NEVER be surfaced or used as loot). Rendering it as a "legendary Trickery weapon" risks two failures: exoticizing a living people's practical tool, or acquiring it as looted spoils from a person (both §17.1 violations). Handled well, it is the opposite — a first-class civilizational-marks beat crediting Aboriginal engineering (the leverage-extending throw, a genuine documented technology), which §17.1 and CHAPTER_BUILD_TARGET §5 REQUIRE the chapter to surface (the "builders-of-knowledge" mandate; the guardrail against rendering the people only as bearers-of-myth).

PROPOSED RESOLUTION (recommend ACCEPT with the reframe fixed). Keep the woomera as the Ch-57 Trickery anchor, framed as the documented ENGINEERING achievement it is — a spear-thrower whose leverage extends range and force, credited unambiguously to Aboriginal invention (co-anchoring civilizational_marks; Trade 8 Engineering), never exoticized and never "tribal/primitive." Acquired through respectful trade-mastery / learning, NEVER looted from a person or a body, NEVER taken as spoils. Confirm it is treated strictly as the public utility technology it is; and bind the absolute exclusion of any restricted/sacred object category (no sacred implement is ever a weapon, loot, or prop — §17.1; HL_0007). Subject to the Q5 consultation gate for any surfaced design. DECISION NEEDED: confirm woomera-as-engineering-achievement anchor vs substitute a fully-fictional implement. BUILD DEFAULT ABSENT OVERRIDE: woomera kept, reframed as credited engineering achievement, learn-not-loot, no sacred object ever surfaced.

What is NOT in this batch (settled hard lines — stated so Josh sees the boundary)

These are canon, not questions, and the build holds them as absolutes: no antagonist-family presence and no Inner Council and no Cassius at Ch 57 (HL_0106; HL_0008; the pack's absent-presence canon); no combat against the Aboriginal community or Elders (§17.1; HL_0003); Ch 57 is a canonical relief chapter at relief-tier intensity, never combat-absent (HL_0050/HL_0051); the boss is a role-title environmental/astral "protocol," never a named person and never a cultural representative (boss persona — "The Dreaming-Site Protocol," the 4-step Perception→Vril-management→Restraint→Purgation resolution, HL_0080); the thesis and Grand Sage stay closed (§17.9; HL_0043/HL_0046); and the modern Aboriginal political present (Mabo 1992, Native Title Act 1993, Wik 1996, the NT intervention 2007, the Uluru Statement 2017, the 2023 referendum) is held as documented historical record, present-tense and sovereign, never a fable.
