Chapter 54 — The Central Andes at 33.33°S (the "Atacama Continued" leg): The Double Wall and the Drawn Line
Story Spine entry, v3.1 beat→fork→state event graph (docs/SPINE_SCHEMA_v3.md), restructured in place from the v2.5 cascade build (authored fresh to docs/proposals/CHAPTER_BUILD_TARGET.md and the v2.5 twenty-block anchor-hub schema, grounded on the RCM Ch 54 substrate, BOSS_PERSONAS, T3_Familiars_Named, and a build-time deep-research grounding pass), spine_status drafted. The v2.5 anchors, prose, source-anchor provenance, and reveal discipline are preserved; v3 re-shapes the site/boss/beat/side-quest/scene/state blocks into the typed machine layer (join-and-type — no new canon authored). Grounded on the enrich.py pack, the T0_Boss_Encounter_Registry BE_0054 rows, and the WHOLE_ARC_CONNECTIVE_WEB_INVENTORY FR-04 hostile-recognition chain. This is the SURVEILLANCE_MILITARY node of the Andean arc: the protagonist penetrates the House of Velheim's three-layer vril-monitoring installation guarding the southern approach to the Ch 55 Vimana activation, the second teaching-node of the Ch 46-to-58 rift-chain. It carries a load-bearing double anti-fringe engine (authorial) — an in-world numerological motif (the thirty-third) held as the FAMILY'S imposed belief and the vril-device's L3 numerology, with the real-world 33rd-parallel corrective held to the authorial anti-fringe flags block (never a player beat), and it reads the Atacama Giant as its Aymara makers' ground-legible achievement, credited on its own terms. It resolves a substrate geographic inconsistency (flagged D-20): 33.33°S is the high Central Andes east of Santiago, not the Atacama Desert, and the Atacama Giant is approximately 2,000 km north in Tarapacá, so the prose is geographically precise and the Giant is read remotely and astrally (the Ch 51 astral-geoglyph precedent), never a physical overflight. The F7 Andean Condor bond reaches its Acceptance here. This entry carries the WS3/WS4 modern-arc re-flesh: Aksel's three-layer installation surfaced as one node of the BLIND-SPOT champion's surveillance apparatus (the family's watch, run from a hand Aksel reports to, embodied in person at Ch 55, closing on Ana at Ch 61); its inner sensor-net reframed as a forced WARD-CONSTRUCT (Construct-Kit Class 4, a bound perception-echo built to make her legible, deployed unattributed, the forcing-hand resolved only at Ch 63); a VERDERER near-miss on the perimeter (the House's recurring hunter, catchable-and-huntable, his first fully-fightable engagement reserved for Ch 59); and a living-supernatural half restored — the Difunta Correa water-saint of the passes and the luz mala used as a playable stealth-cover whose natural vril-flare beats the sensor-net; the capacocha dead held with gravity under the wronged-dead cap, never raised or read; the German-Chilean surname held ordinary and the game's vril firewalled from the neo-Nazi Vril myth. The reveal is LIFTED (the House of Velheim is nameable); the patriarch is held for Ch 76 and the thesis for Ch 77 (§17.9). Drafted is not canonical.
Entry header (schema per §9.5)
chapter_id CH_54; region the high Central Andes on the Chile-Argentina frontier at approximately 33.33°S (the Zona Central cordillera east of Santiago — Cerro Tupungato approximately 33.35°S 69.77°W at 6,570 m, the Cristo Redentor / Los Libertadores pass, the glacial headwaters of the Maipo, a Mediterranean-to-alpine snow-and-ice world, NOT the hyperarid Atacama); the registry arc-label is "Atacama Continued", retained only as the Ch 53-55 leg name (the geographic-precision resolution flagged D-20). The Atacama Giant geoglyph (Cerro Unita, Huara, Tarapacá, approximately 19.95°S 69.64°W) is the far-northern feature read here remotely, not a co-located site [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_54] [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 54 Atacama].
era present day, over the deep Andean layer (the Atacama Giant of the Late Intermediate Period, roughly 900 to 1450 CE by indirect dating; the Inca high-mountain capacocha of the fifteenth to early sixteenth century) — the Andean forward-approach witness-state, the pre-activation atmospheric-vril rise continuing toward the Ch 55 First Transformation [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 54 Atacama].
operational type SURVEILLANCE_MILITARY — a House-of-Velheim Sector-3 (military-industrial) operation (NW_0050, family-briefed), the mature-state vril-monitoring installation guarding the 33.33°S approach and the second teaching-node of the Ch 46-to-58 rift-chain (Area 51 to here to the Arctic to Antarctica); no living-community-combat here (the Andean substrate is archaeological), the combat routing through the installation's private-security force; the installation surfaced as the BLIND-SPOT champion's apparatus (Aksel reports up to the surveillance-arm head, embodied in person at Ch 55), its inner net a forced WARD-CONSTRUCT (Construct-Kit Class 4, unattributed), and a VERDERER near-miss brushing the perimeter [SRC: T0_Antagonist_Network_Registry @ NW_0050] [SRC: BOSS_PERSONAS # Ch 54].
canonical_hard_line_flag FALSE — not one of the eighteen hard-line nodes; standard cultural-depiction tier with the universal §17.1 hard lines binding; the living Aymara (Tarapacá) are held with care as the makers of the Giant and present-tense collaborators, never combat targets (HL_0003); the German-Chilean community is not caricatured (the antagonist's surname is ordinary and carries no ethnic taint) [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0003].
prev_chapter_link CH_53 (Atacama — the Salar lithium op, the F7 condor Approach); next_chapter_link CH_55 (the 33.33°S Vimana activation — the First Transformation, the arc's Foundational peak) [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_54].
Continuity anchor (SSBL §9.3 — Ch 54 start state = Ch 53 end state)
The protagonist climbs from the salar into the high Central Andes at eighteen, holding the young-adult plateau (internal age designer-only, never surfaced) [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_54].
Companions: the healer's child (CHAR_0002), the primary companion and journal-keeper (the journal an operational evidence-instrument since Ch 50); Ana (CHAR_0017), the melee blade; the accreted found-family carried (the Ch-42-through-53 ties, including Wenceslao Chaile CHAR_0148 the Lickanantay water-defender of Ch 53) [SRC: T0_Character_Index @ CHAR_0002].
Identity concealment CONCEALMENT_WITH_HOSTILE_RECOGNITION (the persistent post-reveal arc state — the reveal LIFTED, the House of Velheim nameable); pressure MODERATE and rising (entry = the Ch-53 exit; climbing toward HIGH across the chapter) — the family's mature vril-monitoring apparatus — one arm of a larger surveillance watch Aksel keeps but does not head, its inner net a forced ward-construct built to read her — has watched her signature climb the hemisphere and is built to make her legible, and the House's own hunter brushes the perimeter in a near-miss (catchable now, the hunt two-directional), yet its architect does not know the family name to her (the chain up stays dark, the patriarch held for Ch 76, the thesis for Ch 77) [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0043].
The Vimana hunt is COMPLETE (all six Coordinates read by Ch 50) and the vril-seat-as-key mechanism revealed at Ch 52; here the southern approach documentation is taken and the activation stands one pass south at the 33.33°S zone (Ch 55) — no new coordinate sought [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_54].
Mastery, ability, and familiar state: the Astral Projection ability (A_C_001, the Crown-seat Vril ability) carried and central to the remote geoglyph reading; no new trade home roots and no new school debuts; the Amazon river-dolphin (bonded Ch 50) and the Jaguar (bonded Ch 48) carried, and the F7 Andean Condor bond reaches its ACCEPTANCE here (Approach at Ch 53, Mastery at Ch 55) [SRC: T3_Familiars_Named] [SRC: T0_Ability_Tree_Registry @ A_C_001].
Body prose
The desert lets her go, and the mountains take her. A thousand kilometres south of the salt flats the Andes stop being a rim and become a wall — the high frontier where Chile and Argentina meet along a line of six-thousand-metre peaks, Tupungato's dead cone above the pass, the switchbacks climbing to the Cristo Redentor, the Maipo running white off the glaciers. This is not the Atacama; nothing here is dry. There is snow underfoot and old ice in the shadows and rivers that are still rivers, and up at the thirty-third parallel of the southern sky, in a country of rock and cold water, the family has poured a wall of its own into the ground. Not a mine this time. A watchtower. Three of them, nested: an outer ring of fence and patrol, an inner net of sensors reading the air for the thing she is, and at the centre a sealed room its architect calls the finest work of his life.
He is Aksel Vellmark-Kunstmann, and his own people call him Doble-Muro, Double-Wall, because a man who builds walls for a living becomes one. A German name on a Chilean frontier, which here means nothing more than it says — the south of this country is full of such names, farmers and brewers and schoolteachers — and he is only a systems man who has spent a career teaching a machine to see. He has watched her signature climb the hemisphere for a dozen chapters and believes his three rings make her legible. But the watch is not his, only kept by him. The installation is one eye in a larger family arm whose whole craft is seeing, run from a long way up by a hand that denies whatever it cannot instrument; Aksel is the local wall it hides behind, and the finest work of his life reports to a watcher he will never meet. And the inner ring is more than sensors. At its core the net has a bound thing in it — a captured, forced echo of the sensitive kind, chained to the chamber and set to know the one signature the family most wants read, a perception-servant wrenched from something that once perceived on its own. She reads it for what it is: not the installation's cleverness but a forced construct, the same starved mark she keeps finding on the family's work all down the range. The fight is the slow unteaching of the belief: the perimeter slipped in the dark, the sensor-net turned to read its own makers, the bound watcher cut loose from the core, the chamber opened ring by ring, every layer his own hardware hardened and pointed inward at her.
The passes are not empty of devotion, whatever the installation's maps say. All along the frontier roads, at the switchbacks and the dry places, small red shrines stand heaped with plastic bottles of water — offerings to the Difunta Correa, the woman who died of thirst in the old desert wars with her infant still alive at her breast, whom the drivers and muleteers have kept as a saint of thirst and water and survival ever since, unbeatified and beloved. The whole Andean road has been about water since the salar, and here the water has a face and a name the people gave her themselves. And the cordillera has its ghosts of light: on the black nights the luz mala rises off the ground where old bones and marsh-gas lie, a cold wandering fire the gauchos have feared and named for centuries. She learns to use it. Its flare is real vril, a natural pulse of the same force the family measures, and when she moves inside that flare the sensor-net reads the mountain's own light and not the thing she is — a folk-fire the herders never doubted doing what the finest instrument on the frontier cannot see past. The oldest belief on the pass beats the newest machine.
She has to ask why here, of all the empty passes on the spine of a continent. And the answer is not in the mountain. It is in them, and it is in what she feels through her feet. The family measured to this latitude and set concrete in it because they hold the thirty-third sacred — a number they have believed in for generations, ruled across their maps like a promise made to them alone. But the pull in this ground is not their belief. It is the vril itself, gathered real at the coordinate the way it runs beneath every site the ancients truly raised, wound into the thing she carries. The family reaches for the number. What she feels is what lies beneath the reaching — the mountain holding what it has always held, whether or not anyone came to rule a line across it.
And once, working the outer ring in the dark, she is nearly taken — not by a guard but by the hunter, the patient one, the House's own pursuer who was a nameless dread at her back through the whole ancient road and wears a face and a House-name now. He has not come to run the watchtower; he has come because she is here, drawn to the perimeter the way he has always been drawn, and he closes on her nearer than any sensor does. She slips him again, by wit and by cost, leaving something behind to do it, and the old truth settles harder: the hunt runs both ways and his direction has teeth, and this is only a rehearsal. He does not take her on this mountain. He will be closer at the next.
The condor she has trailed since the salt comes to her at the ceiling of the world, where the thermals stack highest and the cold is thin as paper, and the bond takes. Not a landing on the arm — the mallku does not perch — but an opening, her sight riding up into its until she is looking from an altitude no body climbs to. And from that height she reads a thing she carried down from the north: the great figure cut into the slope of a hill above the Tamarugal, the largest human shape any people ever set into the earth. She had seen it from the ground on the way south, which is how it was always meant to be seen — the hill tilts the giant toward the traveller, so the whole of it reads from the flat, from kilometres out, the caravan's landmark and the desert's calendar. What the altitude gives her is not the figure but the geometry — the way the rays off its squared head fall on the points of the horizon where the moon goes down, the reckoning of the season and the coming rain that the Aymara who made it read there for six hundred years.
She does not read it alone. Marcela Ticona Challapa keeps the giant for the Aymara communities of the Tamarugal, an archaeoastronomer whose great-grandparents walked the caravan roads the geoglyphs mark, and it is her patient teaching that arms the reading — here is the moon, here is the rain, here is my grandmother's name for the figure. The family logs the giant as a coordinate to be owned. Marcela knows it as a calendar and a prayer that were never anyone's to own. She reads it as both, and reads it true, and the truth is the one thing the whole installation was built to keep and cannot hold.
The sealed room, when she reaches it, keeps no idol and no engine — only paper and the bound thing set to guard it. She frees the forced echo first, cutting the leash that chained it to the chamber and letting what had been wrenched into a watcher go still, and then she takes the paper the way she took the coup archive and the forged permit: as evidence, for a reckoning later. It is the family's own decades of watching the number, the chain of read sites feeding toward the one still ahead. And in the reading of it the last thing turns over — the serpent of the whole hemisphere's carved stone drawing its circle closed, the ring the mountains have been bending toward since the north. One pass south of her, at the coordinate the family marked because it believed, the road that began at a burning rift is about to arrive somewhere. Above her the high peaks hold their own dead: a frozen child laid on a summit five centuries ago by people who climbed higher than the family will ever reach, and asked the mountain for rain, and meant it. The family's forcing never reaches them; the high dead are held apart, never raised, never read, never turned to an instrument. The mountains never needed the number. They had been sacred since long before anyone came to rule a line across them.
Threads advancing
Thread 1 (Vril Parallels), ANCHOR — the pre-activation atmospheric-vril rise continuing toward the Ch 55 First Transformation; the 33.33°S-approach Vimana pre-activation substrate the installation was built to monitor (the family's vril-detection network the modern instrument of the thread) [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 1].
Thread 2 (The Serpent), CONFRONTATION — the serpent of the hemisphere's carved stone drawing its circle toward the ouroboros physical-completion at the Ch 55 approach (the serpent thread reaching its geometric closing form); the RCM "Americas-arc Thread 2 closure" gloss belongs to the Ch 50 lowland closure, the Andean register the geometric continuation, flagged for RR-62 [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 2].
Thread 3 (Antagonist Family Pattern), ESCALATION — the SURVEILLANCE_MILITARY three-layer installation (outer patrol / inner vril-monitoring / central sealed chamber), the mature-state family vril-detection network, the second teaching-node of the Ch 46-to-58 rift-chain (Area 51 to here to the Arctic to Antarctica); the pattern deepened three ways — the installation surfaced as one node of the BLIND-SPOT champion's surveillance apparatus (Aksel serves it, does not head it; embodied in person at Ch 55, the Ana-close at Ch 61), the inner net a forced WARD-CONSTRUCT carrying the same unattributed forcing-mark down the range (resolves Ch 63), and the House's own recurring hunter's felt near-miss on the perimeter (catchable, the hunt two-directional; his first fully-fightable engagement reserved for Ch 59) [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 3] [SRC: T4_House_of_Velheim_Canonical # 9.1].
Thread 7 (Numerology), ANCHOR — the thirty-third held as the family's IMPOSED pattern (they built at 33.33°S because they believe the thirty-third is significant) and the vril-device's in-world L3 numerology (real inside the game, felt never declared); the real-world coordinate is never asserted, and the anti-fringe corrective is held in the authorial flags block, never a player beat [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 7].
Thread 10 (Mother Goddess), ANCHOR — Pachamama in the Andean high mountains (the earth-and-mountain mother of the capacocha offering and the rain the geoglyph reckons); the Mother-Goddess thread carried through the sacred-peak register held with gravity [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 10].
Thread 17 (Sacred Languages / Scripts), ANCHOR — the Atacama Giant geoglyph read remotely, the vril substrate beneath it perceived as a node of the continental approach (the makers credited, the lunar-alignment geometry their own) [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 17].
Thread 18 (Sacred Mountains), ANCHOR — the high Central-Andes frontier peaks at 33.33°S (Cerro Tupungato the signature peak; Cerro El Plomo the documented Inca capacocha sanctuary above Santiago) as the sacred-mountain register of the approach (the arc's Licancabur the northern axis-mountain of the Ch-53 leg; the 33.33°S peaks the axis of the approach itself) [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 18].
Thread 22 (Sacred Stones), ESCALATION — the Andean crystal / vril-crystal register across the arc, the substrate the installation's monitoring reads [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 22].
Major-thread coverage note — Ch 54 advances Major Threads 1, 2, and 3 (the grid anchors); Major Threads 4 (Flood Memory) and 5 (Tree of Life / World Axis) carry no canonical Ch-54 grid anchor, permitted per the ratified D-19 convention; Major Thread 6 (Dying-Rising God) is deliberately NOT anchored — the high-mountain capacocha is real Inca child-sacrifice archaeology held with gravity, never framed as a dying-rising thread beat; and the Atacama Giant's Gaze sub-boss carries a Thread-13 (Sacred Geometry) resonance as a sub-boss thread rather than a rowed chapter-grid anchor — all flagged for RR-62 [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 6].
Civilizational marks (the builders-of-knowledge layer, §9.5 mandatory)
The Atacama Giant and the Andean geoglyph astronomy — the largest prehistoric anthropomorphic geoglyph on earth (Cerro Unita, Tarapacá; about 86 metres by the Chilean-state and primary-literature figure, up to about 119 metres in popular sources; dated indirectly to roughly 900 to 1450 CE), a hill-slope figure ground-legible from the pampa, its head-rays interpreted (Clarkson and Briones, Astronomía Cultural de los Geoglifos Andinos, 2014) as sightlines to the moon's setting positions for reckoning the season and the rain — the documented archaeoastronomy of the ancestral Aymara-associated caravan peoples of Tarapacá, credited as their achievement [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 54 Atacama] [SRC: SCIENCE_GROUNDING].
The Inca high-mountain capacocha — the frozen child-offerings of Cerro El Plomo (recovered near the summit at roughly 5,400 metres, 1954) and Cerro Aconcagua (a child of about seven, roughly 1500 CE, recovered at about 5,300 metres, 1985; tied by a 2015 mitogenome study, Gómez-Carballa et al., to a near-vanished post-conquest Andean lineage), documented evidence of Inca high-altitude ritual and mountaineering achievement and of a living descendant continuity — the ancestors of living Andean peoples, held with gravity and never as spectacle [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 54 Atacama].
The Central-Andes glacial hydrology and the trans-Andean passes — the Maipo, Aconcagua, and Mendoza glacial-melt river systems that water the 33°S frontier, and the historic crossings (the Cristo Redentor / Los Libertadores pass and tunnel; the high Piuquenes mule route Darwin crossed in 1835) — the documented mountain geography and history of the cordillera, the real high-alpine world the "Atacama" label obscures [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 54 Atacama].
Everything-woven (the twelve facets, each a real presence, none name-checked)
Combat is the three-layer crack — a stealth-and-decode-and-fight penetration of the installation (sneak the outer patrol perimeter under the luz-mala's vril-flare cover, turn the inner sensor net, cut loose the forced ward-construct at the core — the family's forced construct deployed unattributed, freed not destroyed — take the central sealed chamber), threaded with a Velheim Hunter-Trigger near-miss by the House's own hunter (evaded by wit and cost, not a defeatable boss here); the guns of the private-security force the only targets, no living community anywhere in the fight (HL_0004) [SRC: T0_Boss_Encounter_Registry @ BE_0054].
Exploration is the high frontier — the cordillera at 33.33°S (Tupungato, the Cristo Redentor pass, the Maipo glacial headwaters), the nested installation, and the remote sightline to the Atacama Giant on its far-northern hill [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 54 Atacama].
Discovery (the family's fixation on the thirty-third, the belief that drives the installation; the Giant's true lunar-alignment geometry read from altitude; the coordinate-chain documentation); puzzles (the sensor-net decode; the 33.33°-documentation cipher; the Giant's head-ray-to-horizon geometry); mystery (what stands one pass south at the marked coordinate, felt not spoken) [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 17].
Lore (the Aymara reading of the Giant as a moon-and-rain calendar; the Difunta Correa water-saint of the frontier passes, a living roadside devotion of thirst and survival held with care; the family's own fixation on the thirty-third as their imposed belief; the capacocha honoured; the mallku of the upper world); trades (no new home; the Inscription discipline reading the Giant; the Engineering discipline reading the installation); gathering (the F7 condor altitude-perception; the taken documentation) [SRC: SCIENCE_GROUNDING].
Side quests (the thirty-third as the family's fixation; the Giant's wonder; the surveillance-installation expose); engineering (the defense-in-depth installation as the fightable seam; the Inca high-altitude sanctuary as documented achievement); folklore (the luz mala, the cordillera's bad-light ghost-fire, a living gaucho and Andean superstition used as playable stealth cover; the mallku condor of the upper world; the Tunupa-Tarapacá creator-figure some read in the Giant, held as interpretive); superstition (the family's own belief in the thirty-third, held as the fixation that drives them; the sacred dread of the high peaks the capacocha answered, held with gravity) [SRC: T1_CVD_Creative_Vision_Document # 17.1].
Key sites and spatial layout
Story-load-bearing sites, each having cleared a significance lens and the §4 relevance filter; geography anchors to the World Geography Master, never the RCM [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 54 Atacama] [SRC: SIGNIFICANCE_LENSES].
Typed v3.1 site rows (§3b) — beats reference these by site_id; the environmental detail rides each row as env texture.
env: the high cordillera at 33.33°S (Cerro Tupungato, the Cristo Redentor / Los Libertadores pass, the Maipo glacial headwaters), a snow-and-glacier Mediterranean-to-alpine world, NOT the hyperarid Atacama; the Difunta Correa water-bottle shrines heaped along the switchbacks and dry places, and the luz mala's cold ghost-fire on the black nights (the vril-flare stealth cover); the pre-activation atmospheric vril felt underfoot; hosts CH54_B01/CH54_B02/CH54_B03/CH54_B05/CH54_B07/CH54_B10; L1/L2/L3.
env: the family's three-layer installation poured into the ground — an outer ring of fence and patrol, an inner net of sensors with the forced Sealed-Chamber Ward bound at its core, and a sealed central chamber Aksel calls his masterpiece; cold steel and concrete against the high-alpine light; hosts CH54_B04/CH54_B06/CH54_B09; L1/L2/L3.
env: the Atacama Giant geoglyph (Cerro Unita, Huara, Tarapacá, approximately 2,000 km north), the largest prehistoric anthropomorphic geoglyph on earth, its head-rays reckoning the moon's setting positions for the season and the coming rain; read remotely through the F7 condor's altitude and astral projection, never physically visited or overflown; hosts CH54_B08; L2/L3.
No new rowed vril site — the six-coordinate Vimana hunt is complete; the installation guards the approach documentation, and the activation site is the 33.33°S zone at Ch 55, not a Ch-54 coordinate [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_54].
Boss structure (§9 thin join index — phases are beats; the narrative lives in the beat graph)
Sub-bosses across different threads feed one main boss; every fight is blended, primary-and-secondary-verb, three-axis, with phase escalation that evolves the moveset (HL_0078), and a reward on win and on death per the T1_Combat failure-states rule [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0078] [SRC: T1_Combat_System_Spec].

objective: Climb out of the Atacama salt flats into the high Central Andes at 33.33°S — a snow-and-glacier frontier, not the desert behind her — and sight the family's three-layer installation poured into the ground: an outer ring of fence and patrol, an inner net of sensors, and a sealed chamber at the centre.
CH54_B02 · seq 2 · role core · mode learning · site andes_3333s_frontier · boss none · fork none
objective: Read the frontier's own living devotion — the Difunta Correa's water-bottle shrines heaped at the switchbacks, and the luz mala's cold ghost-fire the herders have named for centuries — and learn that its flare is real vril, a folk-fire that beats the newest machine.
CH54_B03 · seq 3 · role core · mode investigation · site andes_3333s_frontier · boss none · fork none
objective: Ask why here, of all the empty passes on the spine of a continent — the family measured to this latitude and set concrete in it because it holds the thirty-third sacred, but the pull she feels through her feet is the vril itself, real at the coordinate whether or not anyone came to rule a line across it.

The v2.5 entry named this divergence point "the installation-breach choices (Substantial — the stealth-versus-force approach through the layers)" without ranking a path. v3.1 keys it by ACTION with a direction, anchored at the chamber where the overall approach resolves; the corrosive read is not "fighting the PMC" (lethal force against hired hostile combatants is core, HL_0123) but the carelessness of an indifferent, louder pattern — self-focused disregard, not a violence judgment, per HL_0014/HL_0120's own framing of the corrosive direction as cumulative self-loss rather than a performance of villainy. The Accumulative-class "per-encounter combat and decode approaches" the v2.5 entry also named ride the ordinary resolutions of CH54_B04/CH54_B06/CH54_B09 themselves and are not separately forked [SRC: T1_Integrity_Paths_Worldstates_Master # 5.1].

The v2.5 entry named "the Marcela Ticona Challapa named-NPC collaboration beat" as its second Substantial divergence point, contrasting the family's own coordinate-owning logic against Marcela's calendar-and-prayer framing (body prose, CH54_B08) — the corrosive option mirrors the family's stated logic directly rather than inventing a new failure mode. No forward-reading chapter for the tamarugal_aymara standing is named in WHOLE_ARC_CONNECTIVE_WEB_INVENTORY.md at this pass, so the relationship/faction write is carried as open non-gating texture (companion/found-family carry of CHAR_0149 already tracks the tie structurally) rather than a mark_write with a forward_track claim — see Decisions [SRC: T0_Character_Index @ CHAR_0149].

Key ally NPCs
Marcela Ticona Challapa (CHAR_0149) — an Aymara archaeoastronomer and heritage-keeper of the Tamarugal (the Huara / Cerro Unita region of Tarapacá, the Giant's own highlands, distinct from the Lickanantay of the Salar), a present-tense, sovereign collaborator whose patient correction credits the Atacama Giant to its Aymara makers and their real lunar astronomy and arms the protagonist's true reading against the family's coordinate-abuse (the character beat); the name adversarially screened per the RR-52 attestation lesson (an attested Aymara double surname documented among the founding families of the Tamarugal highlands, clear of sacred and ceremonial vocabulary and not a portrait of any real living figure — the sitting Arica-Parinacota governor's surname deliberately avoided; provenance verified at build, and "Challapa" confirmed as an attested family surname read as such, not the ch'alla libation term repurposed as a name, with an Andean-consultant sign-off flagged for the production pass); a collaborator and knowledge-holder, agency hers, never a combat target (HL_0003) [SRC: T0_Character_Index @ CHAR_0149].

Protected-chapter / living-culture framing (§17.1, standard tier)
Ch 54 carries the universal §17.1 hard lines on the living Aymara of Tarapacá and the broader living Andean peoples. The Aymara of the Tamarugal are present-tense, plural, sovereign, and self-determining — the makers of the Atacama Giant are their ancestors, the Giant a documented achievement of their ancestral astronomy, and Marcela Ticona Challapa is a collaborator and knowledge-holder whose agency is hers, never a guide-for-hire or a quest-object [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0003]. There is no living-community combat here — the Andean substrate is archaeological and the combat routes entirely through the installation's private-security force (HL_0004) [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0004]. Andean sacred vocabulary and ceremony are referenced at witness depth and never appropriated (no Aymara sacred or ceremonial term used as a personal name; the interpretive Tunupa-Tarapacá reading of the Giant labelled as such); the Inca capacocha of the high peaks is held with gravity as the offering it was and the ancestral people it honours, never sensationalised (HL_0007); the German-Chilean community is not caricatured — the antagonist's German surname is ordinary and carries no ethnic taint, and the game's own vril is held apart from the real-world neo-Nazi Vril myth (see the anti-fringe flags); the Difunta Correa is held as a living, present-day frontier folk devotion (the roadside water-bottle shrines a real practice), witnessed with respect and never mocked or staged as spectacle, and the luz mala is the region's own living superstition used as a game mechanic without deriding the belief that carries it; the living-tradition floor binds (HL_0110 no voice-clone of an Aymara cultural figure, HL_0111 no parodic SFX) [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0007].
Anti-fringe / Frame-A flags
The 33rd-parallel numerology conspiracy — at-risk claim: the real Earth's 33rd parallel is a line of mystical or electromagnetic power where a hidden elite stages world events (the Trinity test, Hiroshima, the JFK assassination, Roswell) as occult ritual, the Masonic 33rd degree being a geographic cipher. Canonical framing: the in-world numerology is the FAMILY'S imposed belief and the vril-device's L3 numerology (real inside the game, felt never declared) — the narrative NEVER asserts the real latitude has power; the corrective is documented HERE (authorial-only, never voiced by any NPC and never a player beat): the cited sites are not on 33.0° — Trinity is 33.68°N, Jerusalem 31.77°N, Hiroshima 34.39°N on the 34th parallel; the two thirty-threes are unrelated, the Scottish-Rite degree an organizational rank; the coincidences are the Texas-sharpshooter fallacy and anomaly-hunting; ley-lines are pseudoarchaeology, Watkins 1921); the chapter sits at 33 SOUTH, the real-world conspiracy at 33 NORTH (a deliberate hemisphere gap); and the real mass-death events are never restaged as occult set-dressing but held with documentary gravity [SRC: SCIENCE_GROUNDING].
The Atacama Giant sky-signal fiction — at-risk claim: the Giant was made to be seen from the sky, is an astronaut or a "Sky God", a runway, or the work of a lost race (the von-Däniken register). Canonical framing: the Giant is a hill-slope figure GROUND-legible from the pampa (Cerro Unita's slope tilts it toward the traveller, so it reads from kilometres out at ground level — the slope does what altitude does at Nazca, and it is never conflated with Nazca, a distinct culture roughly 800 km north); it is the achievement of the ancestral Aymara-associated caravan peoples of Tarapacá; the lunar-alignment reading is INTERPRETIVE (Clarkson and Briones, who name the extraterrestrial explanation "la decadencia más profunda del colonialismo"); its size is contested (about 86 metres primary, up to about 119 metres popular) and its dating indirect (roughly 900 to 1450 CE); the F7 aerial reading reveals the alignment GEOMETRY (the composition and the head-ray-to-horizon sightlines) as an analytical gift, never the moment a hidden or sky-only figure unlocks [SRC: SCIENCE_GROUNDING].
The geography (33.33°S is the Central Andes, not the Atacama) — at-risk claim: labelling 33.33°S "the Atacama Desert" and reading the Tarapacá Giant as physically co-located. Canonical framing (the D-20 resolution): 33.33°S is the high Central Andes east of Santiago (Tupungato, the Cristo Redentor pass, the Maipo glacial headwaters — a snow-and-glacier Mediterranean-to-alpine world, NOT hyperarid desert), and the prose is geographically precise; "Atacama Continued" is retained only as the registry arc-leg label; the Atacama Giant (Tarapacá, roughly 2,000 km north) is read REMOTELY / astrally as a marker-network node (the Ch 51 Nazca astral-geoglyph precedent), never a physical overflight; the substrate looseness is flagged D-20 for Josh, resolved in-prose with no canon change [SRC: SCIENCE_GROUNDING].
The game's vril versus the neo-Nazi Vril myth — at-risk claim: the game's German-surnamed antagonist plus its "vril" magic evoking the real-world neo-Nazi occult Vril mythology (the Thule and Vril Societies, the Nazi-UFO and Antarctic "Base 211" and Vril-powered-saucer fictions, the Hitler-escaped-to-the-Andes tale). Canonical framing: the game's vril is its own established fiction (across fifty-three chapters), UNLINKED to the neo-Nazi Vril myth; the antagonist's German-Chilean surname is ordinary and carries no ethnic taint (the body explicitly disarms it — farmers and brewers and schoolteachers); no Nazi-fugitive material is invoked here (the real documented cases are history, not this chapter's business), and the fringe mythology is refused (Hitler died in Berlin in 1945; there is no Andean or Antarctic Nazi UFO base); the German-Chilean community, a large integrated people, is not caricatured — the specific historical criminal cases had that community among their victims [SRC: ESOTERIC_GROUNDING] [SRC: SCIENCE_GROUNDING].
The high-mountain capacocha — at-risk claim: the Inca summit child-offerings sensationalised, or the high sanctuaries read as ancient-aliens / lost-race engineering. Canonical framing: the El Plomo and Aconcagua capacocha are documented Inca high-altitude child-offerings (real, peer-reviewed archaeology; the Aconcagua boy tied by a 2015 mitogenome study to a living Andean lineage), built by the ancestors of living Andean peoples, held with gravity and specificity and never as spectacle; and the capacocha WRONGED-DEAD CAP binds hard against the re-flesh — the high-mountain dead are never raised as combat witnesses and never construct-fuel for the forced ward-construct or any Velheim asset (the ward is a bound perception-echo, never the sacred dead), held apart with gravity [SRC: SCIENCE_GROUNDING].
The luz mala (Frame-A folk-superstition) — at-risk claim: the "bad light" rendered as proof of the paranormal, or mocked as peasant ignorance. Canonical framing: the luz mala is a real, still-told Andean and gaucho folk belief with a documented naturalistic basis (the ignition and glow of phosphine and methane from decomposing organic matter and bone, and related ground luminescence), held with care as a living superstition; in-game it carries a real vril-flare (the invented in-world metaphysics, felt never declared) and is used as playable stealth cover, the belief honored and the naturalistic explanation kept authorial, never a player debunk and never a slur on the people who tell it [SRC: SCIENCE_GROUNDING].
The Difunta Correa (Frame-A living devotion) — at-risk claim: the roadside folk-saint sensationalised, mocked, or made a horror set-piece. Canonical framing: the Difunta Correa is a real, widely-practiced Argentine and Andean-frontier folk devotion (the heaped water-bottle shrines a documented living practice of thirst, water, and survival); not Vatican-canonised but genuinely and widely venerated, held with respect as a living devotion, witnessed at the roadside and never staged as spectacle or appropriated as a device [SRC: SCIENCE_GROUNDING].
Three-layer surfacing
L1 self-contained: a three-tier facility crack in the high cordillera — slip the perimeter under the luz-mala's vril-flare cover, turn the sensor net, cut the forced ward-construct loose from the core, fight the sealed chamber — a stealth-action set-piece complete on its own, threaded with the House's own hunter's felt near-miss, a condor-Acceptance aerial-reading beat, and quiet geoglyph and mountain stations [SRC: T0_Boss_Encounter_Registry @ BE_0054].
L2 investigatable: the record — the Atacama Giant archaeoastronomy (Clarkson and Briones), the Central-Andes geography and Inca capacocha (the El Plomo and Aconcagua offerings; Gómez-Carballa et al. 2015), and the private-military-and-surveillance industry (Singer, Corporate Warriors; Scahill, Blackwater; Shorrock, Spies for Hire) — read via the Inscription and Engineering disciplines; the makers' own record the L2 spine [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 54 Atacama].
L3 metaphysical-as-real, never declared: the pre-activation atmospheric vril really rises toward the Ch 55 First Transformation, and the family's monitoring net really reads it; the vril substrate really gathers beneath the Atacama Giant, a node the protagonist reads remotely off the marker (the vril-resonance operated as literal, felt beneath the site and never written into it by its makers); the thirty-third is real in the vril-device's numerology and is the coordinate the family holds sacred (the number real inside the game, felt never declared; the family imposes the pattern); the inner net's ward really is a forced, bound perception-echo she frees (the forcing-mark real, its hand unattributed until Ch 63); the luz mala really flares with the same vril the family measures, and moving inside it really masks her from the sensor-net (the folk-fire beating the instrument); the serpent's carved circle closes toward the Ch 55 ouroboros; nothing of the thesis is spoken and there is no Grand-Sage hint (HL_0043) [SRC: ESOTERIC_GROUNDING] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0043].

inscription_spine: INSC_77H_CH54_FRAGMENT rooted — the Ch-54 hidden-inscription fragment (LAYER_2, a DUAL-PARALLEL read at Adeptus Major, Trade 9 plus SQ3), rooted in the chapter's own material and now registry-covered: the Atacama Giant's marker-and-alignment geometry, the concealed layer beneath the calendrical reading Marcela teaches and beneath the F7 condor's remote alignment-read (the marker-and-alignment script row ATACAMA_GIANT_MARKER_ALIGNMENT is minted and the fragment now refs it) [SRC: T0_Language_Script_Registry @ ATACAMA_GIANT_MARKER_ALIGNMENT] — one more fragment of the 77-Hidden-Inscription spine on the Atacama approach, non-gating content toward the Ch-76 assembly [SRC: T0_Inscription_Spine @ INSC_77H_CH54_FRAGMENT] [SRC: T1_Languages_and_Script_Master # THE 77 HIDDEN INSCRIPTION SPINE].
schools: no new school debuts; SCH_001 through SCH_009 carried (SCH_010 is the Ch-66 Atlantis school) [SRC: T0_School_Registry @ SCH_009].
weapons chapter_anchored_weapon_add none — not a weapon-anchor chapter (the four adds fall at Ch 9-10, 29, 47, and 57) [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0056].
trades: no new trade home rooted (Trade 7 Culinary at Haiti; Trade 4 Herbalism modern home in the Amazon; Trade 9 Inscription ancient-only at Egypt and Sámi); the Inscription discipline reads the Giant and the Engineering discipline reads the installation; no systemic Trade-numbering mislabel appears in the Ch-54 substrate [SRC: T1_Trades_Master # 3.9].
vril_sites no new rowed vril site — the six-coordinate Vimana hunt is complete; the installation guards the approach documentation and the activation site is the 33.33°S zone at Ch 55, not a Ch-54 coordinate [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_54].
familiars: the F7 Andean Condor bond reaches its ACCEPTANCE (aerial-reconnaissance depth; Approach at Ch 53, Mastery at Ch 55); the Amazon river-dolphin (bonded Ch 50) and the Jaguar (bonded Ch 48) carried, plus the roster (Shell W1, the Nile Crocodile W2, the Simurgh F4, the Koi W3, Taki G4, Berkut F5, the Raven F6, the Reindeer G6, Paravani F2 ranging, Kasa W5, the Sanur Octopus W4, the Child Familiar still lost); companions_and_recurring_npcs CHAR_0002 the healer's child, CHAR_0017 Ana, and CHAR_0148 Wenceslao Chaile carried, with CHAR_0149 Marcela Ticona Challapa the chapter tie [SRC: T3_Familiars_Named].
main_quest_beat the true giant read with Marcela's teaching (CH54_B08, the character beat), the F7 condor Acceptance and the remote alignment-reading (CH54_B07, the transformation beat), the three-layer installation cracked (CH54_B04/CH54_B06/CH54_B09, the private-security force and the forced ward-construct, never a community; the perimeter slipped under the luz-mala cover, the ward freed not destroyed), the House's own hunter's near-miss survived by wit and cost (CH54_B05), and the coordinate-chain documentation taken as evidence; side_questlines SQ1/SQ2/SQ3/SQ4/SQ5/SQ11/SQ12 (path_bucket UNLOCKED, none gating) [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0032].
integrity_divergence typed at FORK_CH54_A and FORK_CH54_B (§10b) — the shape of the breach (Substantial, anchor CH54_B09) and the Marcela Ticona Challapa collaboration (Substantial, anchor CH54_B08), each action-keyed with a direction; the per-encounter combat and decode texture (Accumulative) rides the surrounding beats' own resolutions (CH54_B04/CH54_B06/CH54_B09), not a separately-typed fork; NOT a Foundational-catalog node (Ch 55 is the Foundational anchor, the First Transformation); the §17.1 protected content and the living peoples are held identically on all paths (the HL_0003/HL_0004 floor immune to path-variation); the five texture bands are the DERIVED axis (§18, integrity_level L3 Drifting); convergence_node_id null (Ch 65 is the lock-in) [SRC: T1_Integrity_Paths_Worldstates_Master # 5.1].
substrate_sources Clarkson and Briones (the Atacama Giant archaeoastronomy), the Portal de Patrimonio / Bienes Nacionales (the Giant size and protection), the 33rd-parallel-conspiracy skeptical literature (Skeptical Inquirer 2023; the ley-line and Texas-sharpshooter correctives), the Central-Andes geography and Inca capacocha (Gómez-Carballa et al. 2015 on the Aconcagua boy; the El Plomo record), and the private-military-and-surveillance industry (Singer 2003; Scahill 2007; Shorrock 2008) — consolidated to the acquisition list and the Source registry (region_tags Central Andes / 33.33°S / Tarapacá / Atacama Giant / Aymara, care tier standard with the §17.1 living-community hard lines) [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 54 Atacama] [POPULATE→T0_Source_Material_Registry].
rewards per-quest reward map authored in-intent — the coordinate-chain documentation, the F7 condor Acceptance aerial-perception, the true reading of the Giant, and the Aymara makers' record credited; loot and seed anchors deferred [POPULATE→T0_RNG_Drop_Table] [POPULATE→T0_Quest_Seed_Registry].
encounter_mode/zone the outer perimeter (stealth, under the luz-mala vril-flare cover) at andes_3333s_frontier/vril_monitoring_installation (CH54_B04), the inner sensor net (decode / puzzle) and the forced Sealed-Chamber Ward (mask-signature / free-the-construct) at vril_monitoring_installation (CH54_B06), the sealed chamber (combat) at vril_monitoring_installation (CH54_B09), the Verderer's near-miss (Hunter-Trigger, evade by wit and cost) at andes_3333s_frontier (CH54_B05), the Giant's-Gaze remote reading (perceive / decode) at cerro_unita_remote (CH54_B08), and the condor Acceptance (perceive / observe) over the high thermals at andes_3333s_frontier (CH54_B07) — consistent with the typed site rows and the stealth dominant mode; the combat zone the installation and its security and the forced construct, never a community [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 54 Atacama].

identity_hiding_status: CONCEALMENT_WITH_HOSTILE_RECOGNITION (the persistent post-reveal arc state; the reveal LIFTED, the House of Velheim nameable); pressure MODERATE-HIGH (the family's monitoring apparatus breached and its forced ward freed — one arm of the larger BLIND-SPOT watch surfaced, embodied in person at Ch 55; the House's own hunter's near-miss survived, she is catchable now; the Ch 55 activation and the surveillance-military seizure attempt ahead); the chain up still dark (the patriarch held for Ch 76, the forcing-hand behind the ward unattributed until Ch 63), the thesis held for Ch 77.
vimana_hunt_state: COMPLETE (all six Coordinates in hand); the southern approach documentation taken and the activation standing one pass south at the 33.33°S zone (Ch 55, the First Transformation), the atmospheric vril rising toward it.
path_states: direction set at FORK_CH54_A (the shape of the breach) and FORK_CH54_B (the Marcela collaboration), both Substantial-class this chapter; the coordinate-chain documentation taken and the standing with Marcela and the Tamarugal communities logged; the F7 condor Acceptance aerial-perception gained; integrity_level L3 Drifting (bands derived, never option labels); the Sealed Letter readable but its deepest third sealed toward Ch 66.

Decisions surfaced
Ch 54 surfaced these decisions; the grounded and creative-within-vision ones are resolved inline with reasoning shown (Josh-override-able at RR-62), and one genuine substrate-geography fork is flagged to Josh (D-20). This is not a hard-line node, so no Stage-2 canonical-question set is required.
The Ch 53-55 "Atacama" arc geography (D-20) — RESOLVED-APPLIED (grounded framing, no canon change) and FLAGGED for Josh: the substrate fuses places roughly 1,100 to 2,000 km apart under one "Atacama" label (33.33°S is the high Central Andes east of Santiago, not the Atacama Desert; the Atacama Giant is in Tarapacá at roughly 19.95°S). Applied resolution: the prose is geographically precise (Tupungato, the Cristo Redentor pass, the Maipo headwaters — snow and glaciers), "Atacama Continued" retained only as the registry arc-leg label, the Giant read remotely / astrally as a marker-network node (the Ch 51 astral-geoglyph precedent) and never a physical overflight; the WGM/RCM region-and-latitude wording edit is held for Josh (a chapter-region-assignment call). My lean: ratify the applied framing (no canon moved) [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_54].
The 33rd-parallel numerology anti-fringe — RESOLVED (reframe-aligned): the thirty-third is held on the player-facing surfaces ONLY as the family's IMPOSED belief (their fixation, a latitude they hold sacred) and the vril-device's in-world L3 numerology (real inside the game, felt never declared); the real-world 33rd-parallel corrective (the retrofitted coordinates, the two unrelated thirty-threes, the anomaly-hunting, the hemisphere gap) is held in the authorial Anti-fringe / Frame-A flags block and is never a player beat; the power sits in the invented vril system and a believing faction's practice, never in the real Earth coordinate [SRC: SCIENCE_GROUNDING].
The character and transformation beats and the R4 waiver — RESOLVED: the live Chapter_Index mode_variety carried character=N and transformation=N (and an R4||CH_54 topography waiver); the chapter is authored with the Marcela Ticona Challapa collaboration (character) and the F7 Andean Condor Acceptance aerial-perception (transformation), so mode_variety is set all-Y and the R4||CH_54 waiver is retired [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_54].
The CHAR_0149 name (the Deyah lesson) — RESOLVED, not deferred: the Aymara ally name was adversarially screened at build (an attested Aymara double surname documented among the founding families of the Tamarugal highlands, clear of sacred and ceremonial vocabulary, and not a portrait of any real living figure — the sitting Arica-Parinacota governor's surname deliberately avoided) → Marcela Ticona Challapa set and swept; the RR-52 build-screened-is-not-screened lesson honoured [SRC: T0_Character_Index @ CHAR_0149].
The German-Chilean care and the vril-versus-Nazi-myth guardrail — RESOLVED: the antagonist's German-Chilean surname is held as ordinary (no ethnic taint, the body disarming it; no Nazi-fugitive material invoked), and the game's own vril is held apart from the real-world neo-Nazi occult Vril myth (the Thule/Vril-Society/Nazi-UFO/Base-211 fictions refused; Hitler died in Berlin in 1945); the German-Chilean community is not caricatured [SRC: ESOTERIC_GROUNDING].
The WS3/WS4 modern-arc re-flesh — RESOLVED and APPLIED (all WS4-ratified, no cardinal fork): (a) the BLIND-SPOT framing — Aksel's three-layer installation surfaced as one node of the surveillance champion's apparatus (Aksel serves it, does not head it; the champion embodied in person at Ch 55, the Ana-close at Ch 61), the champion's personal name held to the design layer (never body prose); (b) the Sealed-Chamber Ward reframed as a forced WARD-CONSTRUCT (Construct-Kit Class 4 SURVEILLANCE / WARD) — a bound captured perception-echo built to make her legible, deployed UNATTRIBUTED (the forcing-hand, the family's one vril-forcer, resolves only at Ch 63), FREED not destroyed, culturally uncostumed (a bound perception-thing, never a sacred Andean being), the vril mathematical and physical (the Vril-Society firewall); (c) a VERDERER near-miss on the perimeter (the House's recurring hunter, nameable-as-House, catchable-and-huntable, his first fully-fightable engagement reserved for Ch 59; the 41/54/56 near-miss chain → 59 open → 65); (d) the living-supernatural half restored — the Difunta Correa water-saint of the passes and the luz mala's vril-flare stealth cover; none of it flipping the STEALTH mode or the STANDARD intensity [SRC: AAA_REARCHITECTURE_PROPOSAL] [SRC: aaa_ws3_modern_reflesh # Ch 54].
The Difunta Correa and luz mala deployment (care) — RESOLVED: both held as REAL living folk-supernatural of the frontier, witnessed with respect and never mocked or sensationalised (the Difunta Correa a widely-venerated roadside devotion; the luz mala a living superstition with a documented naturalistic basis held authorial); the luz mala's vril-flare is a playable stealth cover (the folk-fire beating the family's instrument) without deriding the belief; the capacocha WRONGED-DEAD CAP holds hard — the high dead are never combat witnesses and never construct-fuel (the ward is a bound perception-echo, never the sacred dead) [SRC: SCIENCE_GROUNDING] [SRC: T1_CVD_Creative_Vision_Document # 17.1].
The NW_0051→NW_0050 mislabel and the Thread-13 Giant sub-boss — CORRECTED and FLAGGED (RR-62): the canonical Ch-54 antagonist row is NW_0050 (BOSS_PERSONAS labels the boss "NW_0051", the same plus-one slip as Ch 50/51/53); and the Atacama Giant's Gaze sub-boss carries a Thread-13 sacred-geometry resonance not rowed in the chapter grid (Major Threads 4 and 5 carry no Ch-54 grid anchor, permitted per D-19; Major Thread 6 deliberately not anchored, the capacocha held with gravity); both flagged for RR-62 [SRC: T0_Antagonist_Network_Registry @ NW_0050].
The v3.1 conversion (2026-07-15) — RESOLVED-APPLIED: the twenty-block v2.5 form retyped into the beat→fork→state event graph per docs/spine/V3_CONVERSION_RUNBOOK.md. Ten beats (CH54_B01-CH54_B10) join the eight body-prose paragraphs, the three-layer boss structure, the four sub-bosses, the F7 condor bond, and the Marcela collaboration; three typed sites (andes_3333s_frontier, vril_monitoring_installation, cerro_unita_remote) replace the two prose bullets, splitting the frontier from the installation for beat-hosting clarity (a placement judgment, no new geography asserted). Two Substantial forks are typed from the v2.5 entry's own named divergence points: FORK_CH54_A (the shape of the breach, anchor CH54_B09) and FORK_CH54_B (the Marcela Ticona Challapa collaboration, anchor CH54_B08); the corrosive options are written as carelessness/disregard, never as a judgment on fighting hired PMC combatants (HL_0123 keeps that violence core). The v2.5 "SQ9 Fairy-tale/Folklore" label is corrected to SQ1 (SQ9 is canonically Cryptids per CVD §17.6) — a spine-prose typing error, not a registry cell, so no registry_correction is queued for it. FR-04-HOSTILE-RECOGNITION-THICKENS-THE-HUNT (WHOLE_ARC_CONNECTIVE_WEB_INVENTORY.md) is typed at CH54_B05 (the Verderer near-miss, the one FULLY_AWARE encounter this chapter) via ws.reputation_biography_propagation, matching the antagonist registry's own NW_C01 champion meta-row (chapter_id CH_38, appearances at Ch 41/54/56/59/65). No community mark_write with a forward_track chapter is claimed for the Tamarugal/Aymara standing (FORK_CH54_B) — no reader chapter is named in the connective-web inventory at this pass; the tie is carried structurally via found_family/companion_roster_state instead, non-gating. No T0 registry cell required correction this pass — BE_0054's own axis (40/30/30) and primary/secondary verbs (infiltrate/decode), and all four sub-boss rows' verbs and axes, matched cleanly between the v2.5 prose, BOSS_PERSONAS, and the registry CSV; registry_corrections is empty for this chapter [SRC: V3_CONVERSION_RUNBOOK].
