Chapter 47 — Mexico (Templo Mayor, Teotihuacan, and Chichén Itzá): The False Narrative
Story Spine entry, v3.1 beat→fork→state event graph (docs/SPINE_SCHEMA_v3.md), restructured in place from the v2.5 cascade build (authored fresh to docs/proposals/CHAPTER_BUILD_TARGET.md and the v2.5 twenty-block anchor-hub schema), spine_status drafted. The v2.5 anchors, prose, source-anchor provenance, and reveal discipline are preserved; v3 re-shapes the site/boss/beat/side-quest/scene/state blocks into the typed machine layer (join-and-type — no new canon authored). Grounded on the enrich.py pack, the RCM Ch 47 substrate, BOSS_PERSONAS, and a build-time deep-research pass on the pan-Mesoamerican feathered-serpent tradition, the Cortés-return-myth correction (Restall, Townsend, Lockhart), the Maya astronomy and glyph decipherment, Landa's 1562 Maní codex-burning, and the living Nahua and Maya. This is the CULTURAL-vessel chapter and the serpent-thread SYNTHESIS milestone — the culmination of the Ch 2-46 serpent anchors converging in Quetzalcoatl, the quetzal-bird-plus-coatl-snake earth-sky union; it carries ELEVATED §17.1 care (the deity referenced never appropriated and never named onto a mortal; the living Nahua and Maya present-tense and never combat targets; Cortés, Moctezuma, Malintzin, Sahagún, and Landa all real historical persons rendered audit-only at Restall/Townsend/Lockhart corrective depth) and hard-rejects pseudo-archaeology (no ancient-aliens, no lost-white-race, no Teotihuacano "lost civilization" invented; the antagonist EMBODIES the fabrication precisely so the player restores the real record with primary sources and exposes the fabricator). The reveal is LIFTED (the House of Velheim is nameable); the patriarch is held for Ch 76 and the thesis for Ch 77 (§17.9). Drafted is not canonical.
Entry header (schema per §9.5)
chapter_id CH_47; region Mexico, tri-location — the Templo Mayor archaeological district at the Mexico City Zócalo PRIMARY (approximately 19.43°N 99.13°W), Teotihuacan 40 km northeast (approximately 19.69°N 98.84°W), and Chichén Itzá in Yucatán (approximately 20.68°N 88.57°W, UNESCO 1988) SECONDARY [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_47] [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 47 Mexico].
era present day, over pre-Columbian time-fluctuation layers — Teotihuacan's peak occupation (circa 100 BCE-550 CE), the Mexica Templo Mayor (stages I-VII to 1521), the 1519 Cortés encounter, and Diego de Landa's 1562 auto-da-fé at Maní [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 47 Mexico].
operational type CULTURAL, Sector 5 Media and Information — the ninth node of the modern arc (Ch 39-50): a documentary-narrative-falsification apparatus (the documentary-director archetype, editorial-agency and industry-capture depth) that sells the colonial fabrication of pre-Columbian civilization as revelation; the family does not add fantasy so much as strip Indigenous authorship [SRC: T0_Antagonist_Network_Registry @ NW_0044] [SRC: T4_House_of_Velheim_Canonical # 9.1].
canonical_hard_line_flag FALSE — not one of the eighteen hard-line nodes; an ELEVATED §17.1-care chapter (Mesoamerica is in the CVD §6.2 elevated-care set with Congo, West Africa, South Africa, and the Amazon), author-in-loop at Stage 4 and batch-audited at the Range Review, the living Nahua and Maya inviolate and never combat targets, the deity referenced never appropriated [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0001] [SRC: T1_CVD_Creative_Vision_Document # 17.1].
prev_chapter_link CH_46 (Southwest USA — Groom Lake and Chaco Canyon); next_chapter_link CH_48 (Central America / the Maya world — Petén, Tikal, Copán, Palenque; the EXTRACTIVE pipeline moral-choice, where the journal's public-release deliberation initiates) [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_47].
Continuity anchor (SSBL §9.3 — Ch 47 start state = Ch 46 end state)
The protagonist reaches Mexico eighteen and holding the young-adult plateau (internal age designer-only, never surfaced) [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_47].
Companions: the healer's child (CHAR_0002), the primary companion and journal-keeper (the journal building toward the Ch 48 public-release deliberation — the decision at Ch 56, the release at Ch 57, per T3_Core_Characters); Ana (CHAR_0017), the melee blade — carried through a chapter whose fights are more argument than blade [SRC: T0_Character_Index @ CHAR_0002].
Identity concealment CONCEALMENT_WITH_HOSTILE_RECOGNITION: the reveal is LIFTED (the House of Velheim nameable), and Falkenmark is FAMILY_BRIEFED — he knows exactly whose soft-power arm he is — but the chain above him stays dark (the patriarch Cassius held for Ch 76), and nothing of the thesis is spoken (held for Ch 77); he treats her as a rival storyteller to be out-edited, not as what she is [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0043].
The Vimana hunt is OPEN with Coordinates 1, 2, and 3 of 6 in hand (the Drakensberg, Ch 41; the Woodhenge, Ch 45; the Fajada Butte sun-dagger, Ch 46); Coordinate 4 of 6 is read HERE, as the felt vril-resonance she reads beneath the site while she reads the Dresden Codex Venus tables — the whole-number sky-commensuration wholly the Maya astronomers' own human achievement, the coordinate her own perception of the vril substrate and never a bearing the makers encoded, the hunt advancing toward the Ch 55 Vimana [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_47].
Ability and mastery state: the Inscription discipline (Trade 9, ancient-only, its homes at Ch 15 Egypt and Ch 29 Sámi) reaches its first full-phonetic-logographic modern-world application here, reading the Maya glyph system at the Adeptus Major tier (the Maya-glyph full-decipherment payoff, per Coe and Coe-Van Stone); the rift-chain opened at Ch 46 (node 1, running to Ch 54/56/58) is carried, dark, in the background [SRC: T0_Inscription_Spine @ MASTERY_CH47_ADEPTUS_MAJOR_MAYA_PAYOFF].
Body prose
The serpent has been with her since Flores. A python coiled in a cave-mouth at the very beginning of the road; a naga in a Balinese doorway; a forest python in the Congo; the ouroboros swallowing its own tail on an Egyptian wall; the world-serpent circling the Norse sea; the coil of the spine itself in an Indian breath; a dragon threading water in China; the horned water-panther on a Mississippian shell two chapters back. She never counted them. She only noticed, somewhere along the way, that the same shape kept surfacing in cultures that had never touched, each one meaning its own true thing by it, and that she had stopped being surprised. Now she stands in the Ciudadela at Teotihuacan in front of a facade eighteen centuries old, where a stone serpent's head thrusts out of a collar of carved feathers, and the shape closes. Quetzal and coatl. The bird of the sky and the snake of the earth, fused into one being — not a borrowing, not a single god carried from place to place, but the convergence itself given a face. She does not have a word for what she feels and she does not reach for one. The stone says it better than a word could: that this shape was never hidden. It was carved on the front of the oldest pyramid, in daylight, for anyone willing to look.
The man she has come to fight would rather she looked at his film instead. Reynard Falkenmark makes documentaries about "civilizational mysteries," and his mysteries are all the same mystery — that the people who actually built these places could not have built them, so someone else must have, someone conveniently vanished and conveniently pale. He does not lie so much as subtract. He shows the Feathered Serpent Pyramid and asks who the builders really were, and lets the silence answer, because the honest answer is that scholarship genuinely does not know — Teotihuacan was a city of many peoples and its language is still unsettled — and Falkenmark has learned that an unfilled space is the easiest thing in the world to fill with a fabrication. His crown jewel is the oldest of the colonial stories: that Moctezuma froze because an ancient prophecy foretold a bearded god returning from the east in the year Cortés happened to land, and mistook the conquistador for Quetzalcoatl come home. It is a magnificent story. It is also his story and not the record's, and her work in this chapter is to put the record back — the documented history the film leaves out: a capable ruler, a formal welcome, the encounter as Cortés's own letters and the Nahua accounts set it down. Her weapon in this chapter is not a blade. It is the primary source, and there are always at least two of them for every falsehood he floats, and she has spent forty-five chapters learning to read.
So the fight is a contest over the record, conducted at the speed of evidence. He broadcasts a claim; she answers it less by disproving him than by restoring what he leaves out — Restall and Townsend and the Nahuatl accounts Lockhart assembled, Cortés's own silent pages, the Florentine Codex where Sahagún and his named Nahua elders set the real world down in two columns and a wall of paintings. And when she strips one layer, Falkenmark's narrative simply re-edits toward whatever she has not yet sourced — that is the whole horror of him, a story that adapts to the gap in your knowledge rather than to the truth. The middle of the chapter takes her into the archives of erasure, and here she goes carefully and quiet, because the erasure is real and documented and she will not perform it for spectacle. In July of 1562 a Franciscan named Diego de Landa gathered the Maya books of Yucatán at Maní and burned them — twenty-seven codices, thousands of sacred images, under an inquisition he had no authority to convene — and by his own account the people who watched grieved it beyond his understanding. From the libraries of a fully literate civilization, four books survived. She references the fire; she does not reconstruct what it consumed. And then she finds the thing that makes this chapter turn: that Landa, defending himself, copied down a Maya "alphabet" from an informant, and that four centuries later a Soviet epigrapher named Knorozov realized it was not an alphabet but a syllabary — the key that cracked the whole script. The destroyer's own document became the Rosetta stone of the thing he tried to destroy. Erasure undone by the residue of the erasure. That is the shape of the answer to Falkenmark, and she feels the rhyme of it with the serpent: the record, like the god, keeps surfacing.
The god keeps surfacing, and that is exactly the thing a man like Falkenmark learns to counterfeit. Where the record is too solid to strip, he manufactures. For the cameras he has had a thing made — a feathered serpent that pours down a pyramid on cue, glorious and hollow, wearing the shape of Quetzalcoatl the way a mask wears a face. It is not the god. The god is real in this world, and honored, and never hers to fight or his to forge; what he has fielded is a counterfeit — a manufactured serpent running on a forced and negative charge she can read the instant she looks at it with the right sight, the same cold forcing-mark she is starting to find on more than one of the family's fielded things and cannot yet put a hand to. Pressed into the broadcast around it, like extras who never agreed to the part, are the aluxob, the small earth-spirits the Maya still leave offerings for at the field-corners and the cenote-mouths, seized and set to perform for his lens. So the chapter is not only a duel of citations after all. She fights the false serpent because it is false, and she frees the aluxob because they were never his to press, and both acts are the same act as the argument itself: putting back what someone manufactured a reason to take. And the country answers his fabrication with its own true night — La Llorona weeping along the old canal-lines of the drowned lake-city the Zócalo is built on, the nagual wearing a jaguar's shape in the mountain dark — a living supernatural that was here long before his cameras and will outlast them, and needs no forging because it was never a lie.
She reads the sky the Maya read. The Dresden Codex holds a table that tracks Venus across its five-hundred-and-eighty-four-day round against a true 583.92 — among the most accurate pre-telescopic records anyone kept — folded into a whole-number lattice where five Venus-years lock to eight solar years, and she reads it as arithmetic — brilliant, human, naked-eye arithmetic, wholly the Maya astronomers' own — and as she reads, the vril substrate beneath the site answers her; Coordinate four of six is not a bearing the Maya encoded but the resonance she feels in the ground beneath their observatory, surfacing as she attunes. At Chichén Itzá she climbs toward the equinox, where the late sun throws seven triangles of shadow down the northern balustrade of El Castillo so they meet a carved serpent's head at the base and the Feathered Serpent seems to pour down the pyramid into the earth. She holds even this honestly: the descent is real and the pyramid genuinely counts the solar year in its steps, but whether the equinox effect was deliberately engineered is a thing scholars still argue, and she lets the argument stand rather than sell a certainty. At the foot of that stair, in the guardianship of the descending serpent, waits the weapon this place has kept for her — the macuahuitl, the obsidian-toothed sword of a real people, its edge finer than steel and its stone honest enough to chip. She takes it the way the chapter has taught her to take everything: as a made thing, by a named people, whose heirs are alive and speak their languages and read their sky today, and who were never a mystery — only a people someone found it profitable to forget.
Threads advancing
Thread 2 (The Serpent), the SYNTHESIS milestone and confrontation — the pan-Mesoamerican feathered serpent as the canonical culmination of the Ch 2-46 serpent-thread anchor sequence (Flores python, Bali naga, Congo python, the Dahomey python temple, the Egyptian ouroboros, the Norse Jörmungandr, the Indian kundalini, the Chinese water-dragon, the Caribbean Damballa, the Appalachian copperhead, the caduceus, the Mississippian horned serpent, the Hopi rattlesnake) converging into Quetzalcoatl (quetzal plus coatl, earth-sky union) — three related-but-distinct traditions honored separately (Teotihuacan's Feathered Serpent with its builders unnamed, the Maya Kukulkan and K'iche' Q'uq'umatz, the Mexica Quetzalcoatl), never flattened into one invented deity, the through-line that CONNECTS them; and the chapter's fought counterfeit set against that true synthesis — a manufactured feathered-serpent MIMIC wearing Quetzalcoatl's shape for the vessel's cameras (an unattributed forced FABRICATION construct, Construct-Kit Class 5), the deity itself honored and NEVER the fought thing: only the counterfeit is broken, and the aluxob press-ganged into the broadcast around it are freed [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 2] [SRC: BOSS_PERSONAS # THE CONSTRUCT-KIT].
Thread 3 (Antagonist Family Pattern), the CULTURAL sector's first direct modern engagement (reveal LIFTED) — the House of Velheim's Sector-5 Media-and-Information form: the documentary-narrative-falsification apparatus, the documentary-director archetype at editorial-agency and industry-capture depth; the family's first fielded FABRICATION here — the false-feathered-serpent counterfeit, an unattributed forced construct whose forcing-mark recurs across the modern arc and resolves to a single hand only at Ch 63; and at the Ch 47/48 seam a first faint pre-echo of a disinterested "mediator" register — surfaced in MANNER and ARGUMENT only (the reasonable, orderly-alternative voice), never a name, never a credential, and never the fairy-realm tongue that stays held to Ch 17; the family nameable player-facing, its films the soft-power arm, the chain above the vessel dark into the nameless ledger (the patriarch held for Ch 76) [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 3] [SRC: T0_Antagonist_Network_Registry @ NW_0044] [SRC: T0_Antagonist_Network_Registry @ NW_0015].
Thread 9 (The Great Work / Alchemy) — the Inscription discipline's Adeptus Major milestone as the Ch-47 step in the Hermetic Great Work (the mastery framework is Hermetic per HL_0026), the decoding of hidden knowledge as the magnum opus: the first full-phonetic-logographic modern-world application, the Maya glyph decipherment (Knorozov's syllabic breakthrough, Coe's Breaking the Maya Code, Coe-Van Stone's Reading the Maya Glyphs) with the Nahuatl primary-source corpus and the Aztec calendar stone alongside, that unlocks Vimana Coordinate 4 of 6 at the Dresden Venus tables (the script-and-glyph content also fits Thread 17 Sacred Languages / Scripts, which the substrate did not row for Ch 47 — flagged for RR-52) [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 9].
Thread 5 (Tree of Life / World Axis) and Thread 13 (Sacred Geometry / Architecture) — the Teotihuacan axis-mundi: the Avenue of the Dead aligned with the Pyramid of the Sun, the Pyramid of the Moon, and the Feathered Serpent Pyramid (Millon's 1973 Teotihuacan Map; Pasztory; Carballo), and the Mesoamerican pyramid as sacred architecture across Teotihuacan, Templo Mayor, and El Castillo [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 5].
Thread 7 (Sacred Numerology / Gematria, archaeoastronomy register) — the Dresden Codex sky-mathematics: the Venus table's 584-day synodic round against the true 583.92, the 65-period 37,960-day lattice entered on 1 Ahau, and the 405-lunation eclipse table correct to within minutes (Aveni's Skywatchers; Bricker and Bricker), read as human naked-eye science [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 7].
Thread 18 (Sacred Mountains / Axis Locations), Thread 4 (Flood Memory), and Thread 6 (Dying-Rising God) — Popocatépetl and the sacred-mountain frame of the Valley of Mexico under Teotihuacan and Tenochtitlan; the Mesoamerican flood tradition (the Quetzalcoatl flood); and the cyclic Quetzalcoatl-as-Venus death-and-resurrection, contrasted with the once-and-for-all Osiris of Ch 15 [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 18].
Thread 8 (Mystery Schools / Initiation) — the SCH_009 Mesoamerican initiatory school DEBUT and the Quetzalcoatl-as-Venus death-and-resurrection initiatory logic (Weaving 9), the first Layer-3 vril-seat-plus-trade combination-casting synthesis, the initiatory lineage converging forward at Ch 69 Maatherion [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 8].
Thread 10 (Mother Goddess / Pre-Patriarchal) — Coatlicue, the Mexica mother-goddess of Tenochtitlan, and the dismembered moon-goddess Coyolxauhqui whose great monolith anchors the foot of the Templo Mayor stair (Matos Moctezuma) [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 10].
Thread 14 (Blood and Sacrifice), referenced-with-weight — the Aztec ritual-sacrifice tradition and its recurrence-chain landing point (the chain set up at Ch 3, through Ch 15, 17, 23, 28, and here), named with full historical weight and NEVER performed, staged, or made a playable set-piece (HL_0007) [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 14].
Thread 15 (The Twin / Duality) — Quetzalcoatl and his dual and rival Tezcatlipoca, the smoking mirror, the paired opposition at the heart of Mexica cosmology [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 15].
Thread 19 (End-of-World / Eschaton) — the Quetzalcoatl-return-from-the-east prophecy engaged as the confrontation's evidentiary spine (the vessel sells it as ancient revelation; the drama restores the documented history in its place), and the Mexica five-suns cyclic-cataclysm cosmology it belongs to, honored as real Mexica belief [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 19].
Thread 1 (Vril Parallels), the modern register — the direct feathered-serpent-synthesis contact at the Teotihuacan Feathered Serpent Pyramid, the natural geological-fault vril-substrate under the site (a parallel to the Ch 23 Delphi fault) operating as real beneath the perception layer [SRC: ESOTERIC_GROUNDING].
Civilizational marks (the builders-of-knowledge layer, §9.5 mandatory)
Maya astronomy — the Dresden Codex Venus table schematizing Venus's synodic period as 584 days against the true mean of 583.92, in a whole-number lattice (5 Venus-years to 8 solar years to 99 lunations; 65 periods to 37,960 days), with an embedded correction scheme; and the eclipse table spanning 405 lunations, its mean lunar month correct to within about seven minutes — among the most accurate pre-telescopic astronomical records known (the older "one day in six thousand years" precision claim is an overstatement, not used) [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 47 Mexico].
Maya writing and the Long Count — the fully phonetic logo-syllabic script, deciphered through Yuri Knorozov's 1950s syllabic insight and narrated in Coe's Breaking the Maya Code, and the base-20 positional Long Count counting days from a 3114 BCE zero-date — the achievement that turned "mute ruins" back into the records of named dynasties and real history (Coe-Van Stone, Reading the Maya Glyphs) [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 47 Mexico].
Teotihuacan and Templo Mayor as urban and architectural achievement — the planned metropolis on the Avenue of the Dead with its Pyramid of the Sun and Pyramid of the Moon (Millon's 1973 cartographic survey; Pasztory; Carballo), and the Mexica Templo Mayor's dual shrine to Huitzilopochtli and Tlaloc with the Coyolxauhqui monolith (Matos Moctezuma's excavation corpus); the round Ehecatl-Quetzalcoatl temple whose coiled form and serpent-mouth doorway render the wind-serpent itself; and the 1521-1530 Spanish demolition of the Templo Mayor with its cut stone reused in the foundation of the Mexico City Cathedral, an institutional-replacement pattern (a temple unbuilt into its replacement) converging forward at Ch 69 Maatherion [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 47 Mexico].
El Castillo and the macuahuitl — the Temple of Kukulkan encoding the 365-day year in its four staircases of 91 steps plus the top platform (Aveni), and the macuahuitl, the obsidian-edged hardwood sword whose prismatic blades take an edge finer than steel (Bernal Díaz likened its cut to a Toledo blade), rendered as a real weapon with its real limitation — obsidian chips and shatters on hard impact, and the period claim that a single blow beheaded a horse is attested but disputed, never stated as fact [SRC: SCIENCE_GROUNDING].
The living Nahua and Maya, present-tense and sovereign — roughly 1.65 million Nahuatl speakers in Mexico's 2020 census (the largest Indigenous language of Mexico) and roughly six million speakers of some thirty Mayan languages across Mexico, Guatemala, and Belize (Yucatec, K'iche', Q'eqchi', Kaqchikel, Mam and more); the Classic "collapse" a Terminal-Classic reorganization of the southern lowlands, never an ethnic disappearance — the codex-writing, sky-reading civilizations have living heirs, and the Popol Vuh survives through K'iche' tradition [SRC: T1_CVD_Creative_Vision_Document # 17.1].
Everything-woven (the twelve facets, each a real presence, none name-checked)
Combat routes entirely through the CULTURAL apparatus and the site trials — the documentary-agency vessel and its industry-capture assets, the fought false-feathered-serpent counterfeit (the manufactured MIMIC broken and the aluxob pressed into its broadcast freed), the Feathered Serpent Pyramid's perception-trial, the El Castillo equinox guardian gating the legendary weapon, and the Dresden Venus-clock puzzle; never through the living Nahua or Maya, and never against the deity, which is honored, not fought — only its counterfeit [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0004].
Exploration is the tri-location — the Templo Mayor district under the modern Zócalo, the Avenue of the Dead and the pyramids at Teotihuacan, and the causeways and observatory of Chichén Itzá [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 47 Mexico].
Discovery (the real record the fabrication buries — the decipherment, the Venus and eclipse tables, the documented history of the 1519 encounter recovered from Cortés's own letters and the Nahua accounts); puzzles (the Dresden Venus-clock decode, the Maya-glyph reading, the Feathered Serpent perception-trial, the equinox alignment); mystery (who really built Teotihuacan — answered honestly as a multiethnic city of unsettled language) [SRC: T0_Boss_Encounter_Registry @ BE_0047].
Lore (the living Mesoamerican record made vivid — the feathered-serpent traditions, the Popol Vuh, the Long Count as real chronology, the named dynasties recovered from the glyphs); trades (the Inscription discipline at Adeptus Major reading the Maya script — a modern-world application of an ancient-only trade); gathering (the primary-source counters, the Venus coordinate, the macuahuitl) [SRC: SCIENCE_GROUNDING].
Side quests (the Dresden Venus-clock decode, the El Castillo equinox legendary-weapon quest, the Landa-archive source-hunt); engineering (the pyramid alignments and the round wind-temple as documented achievement, against the agency's broadcast machinery); folklore (Quetzalcoatl as culture-hero who gives writing and the calendar — the mirror of the player's own act of restoring the true record; and the living Mexican and Maya supernatural present-tense — La Llorona weeping along the old canal-lines of the drowned lake-city the Zócalo is built on, the aluxob the Maya still propitiate at the field-corners and cenote-mouths, genuine living belief made playable and freed where the vessel has press-ganged them into his broadcast, and the nagual shapeshifter tradition of the mountain dark); superstition (the returning-white-god prophecy engaged within the drama as the vessel's crown claim, the documented history of the encounter restored in its place) [SRC: T1_CVD_Creative_Vision_Document # 17.1].

The v2.5 resolution bullet named the four divergence_points in prose without a direction-keyed vocabulary. v3.1 keys the options by ACTION with a direction; the five texture bands are the DERIVED axis (§18); mark_write is keyed to the nahua_maya community per §5.5.4, and the mark is read forward at Ch 62 and Ch 65, so forward_track carries [CH_62 CH_65]. The prior wording here recorded no consumer chapter; that reading is superseded on evidence, and the reason it missed is worth keeping — the check searched docs/proposals/WHOLE_ARC_CONNECTIVE_WEB_INVENTORY.md and Ch 48's own Continuity anchor, never the downstream spine nodes themselves, so the zero came off the wrong surface. Both downstream ends already exist and need no edit: CH_62's region_chapter_set line carries "the world-state reflection on the whole Americas journey (Haiti, the Gullah and Appalachian south, the Haudenosaunee northeast, Cahokia, the Southwest, Mesoamerica, the Maya, the Amazon, the Andes)" and CH62_B04's objective has "the case's own prior communities answer as they were left"; CH_65's recombination-exam line reads "the Ch 39-65 community marks via community_state_per_region". Protected-chapter / elevated-care framing (§17.1)
Ch 47 carries ELEVATED §17.1 care on sacred and colonial-trauma material with living heirs. Quetzalcoatl (Mexica), Kukulkan or K'uk'ulkan (Yucatec Maya), and Q'uq'umatz (K'iche' Maya) are a real sacred deity referenced with reverence and never given an invented name and never placed onto a mortal NPC (the Kxao rule); the Feathered-Serpent synthesis honors three related-but-distinct traditions (with Teotihuacan's Feathered Serpent, its builders unnamed, the oldest of them) and never flattens them into one appropriated god, and no ceremony — not the Teotihuacan dedicatory burials, not the Mexica rites the Templo Mayor documents — is reproduced, invented, or staged as a playable set-piece; the ritual-sacrifice history is referenced with historical weight, never performed for spectacle (Thread 14 handled at referenced depth) [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0007] [SRC: T1_CVD_Creative_Vision_Document # 17.1]. The living Nahua (about 1.65 million Nahuatl speakers) and Maya (about six million across Mexico, Guatemala, and Belize) are written present-tense and sovereign, carriers of continuous traditions, never relics and never combat targets; combat routes through the CULTURAL documentary apparatus and the site trials, never through any community (Ruling 5) [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0003]. The real historical persons — Cortés, Moctezuma, Malintzin (Doña Marina), Sahagún, and Landa — are audit-only at Restall/Townsend/Lockhart corrective depth: Moctezuma a capable ruler and not a superstitious cipher, Malintzin a strategic agent with constrained choices and not a traitor-slur, Sahagún the honorable inverse of the vessel (a collaborative, informant-credited documentarian), Landa's destruction named and indicted plainly; none is fictionalized into an invented persona or the game's villain — the invented antagonist is the modern documentary-director, defeated by restoring the real record with primary sources and no violence against people; and the living-tradition floor binds (no synthetic voice-clone of a Nahua or Maya cultural figure per HL_0110, no parodic SFX per HL_0111) [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0110] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0111].
Anti-fringe / Frame-A flags
The Cortés-return-god myth — at-risk claim: that a pre-Columbian prophecy foretold Quetzalcoatl's return from the east, that Moctezuma mistook Cortés for the returning god and surrendered. Canonical framing: the game DISMANTLES this as a post-conquest colonial construction (Townsend's Burying the White Gods; first written by López de Gómara in 1552, a man who never crossed the ocean, and absent from Cortés's own Cartas de relación; the Florentine Codex Book 12 omens recorded a generation later in the 1550s-70s and thus retrospective, not proof of pre-1519 prophecy); Restall's Seven Myths and When Montezuma Met Cortés supply the corrective, and Moctezuma's formal welcome oration was weaponized into a "surrender" by later Spanish narration [SRC: SCIENCE_GROUNDING].
Teotihuacan and the "lost civilization" — at-risk claim: ancient aliens, von-Däniken, a vanished master-race or "lost white race" who "really built" the pyramids. Canonical framing: the awe is documented human achievement, and the builders' ethnicity and language are GENUINELY uncertain and STAY uncertain — the current scholarship is a multiethnic city of debated affiliation (Millon, Pasztory, Carballo), and that openness is the truthful answer, never a gap to be filled with an invented founder-people; the antagonist embodies exactly the fringe move so the player restores the real record against it, the same lost-race mechanism the Cahokia chapter (Ch 45) already named and refused, recycled onto the Maya [SRC: SCIENCE_GROUNDING].
The Maya as "vanished" and their astronomy as "lost secret" — at-risk claim: the Maya mysteriously disappeared; their sky-knowledge was suppressed or superhuman. Canonical framing: the Classic collapse was a Terminal-Classic reorganization of the southern lowlands, not an ethnic disappearance (Aimers), and roughly six million Maya are alive today; the astronomy is real, human, naked-eye arithmetic (the Venus table's 583.92-day math, the 405-lunation eclipse table, the Long Count, the Knorozov/Coe decipherment), with the older "one day in six thousand years" Venus-precision claim corrected to "among the most accurate pre-telescopic records," the Grolier/Maya Codex of Mexico authenticity noted as long-disputed but accepted post-2018, and the El Castillo equinox intentionality and the Dresden eclipse-table purpose both flagged as genuinely contested rather than flattened [SRC: SCIENCE_GROUNDING].
The House of Velheim two-layer discipline — the documentary-agency vessel and the Sector-5 media apparatus are composite fictional (never a real production company or a real person); the pseudo-archaeology phenomenon it dramatizes is real documented media history (the SAA's 2022 open letter), presented as history, with the negative-consciousness connection kept as the game's artistic interpretation and never conflated with the documented layer (HL_0109) [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0109].
The Vimana coordinate and the Dresden Venus tables — at-risk framing: that the Maya archaeoastronomy "encodes" a coordinate, an address, or a craft-vector for a reader who can leave the ground. Canonical framing: the Venus and eclipse tables are wholly the Maya astronomers' own naked-eye human achievement, built for their documented calendrical and ritual reasons; Vimana Coordinate 4 of 6 is the protagonist's felt vril-resonance she reads BENEATH the site (the game's L3 vril substrate), never a bearing or beacon the makers encoded [SRC: ESOTERIC_GROUNDING].
The false-feathered-serpent counterfeit and the deity — at-risk read: that the fought serpent IS Quetzalcoatl, or that the sacred feathered serpent is a monster to be defeated. Canonical framing: the deity is real in the world, honored, and NEVER the fought thing; what the vessel fields is a manufactured MIMIC (Construct-Kit Class 5), a counterfeit wearing the god's shape and running on a forced negative charge — the family's fabrication, deployed UNATTRIBUTED (the forcing-hand resolves only at Ch 63), broken precisely because it is false; sacred-never-corrupted holds absolutely (HL_0007) [SRC: BOSS_PERSONAS # THE CONSTRUCT-KIT] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0007].
The living Mexican and Maya supernatural — at-risk read: that La Llorona, the nagual, or the aluxob are quaint superstition, invented spectacle, or a modern cryptid marketed as ancient tradition. Canonical framing: they are genuine, living, present-tense belief (La Llorona and the nagual widespread folk tradition; the aluxob still propitiated at Yucatán field-corners and cenote-mouths), rendered at witness and playable depth and never reproduced as sacred ceremony; the aluxob are held strictly distinct from any modern cryptozoological construction (the cryptid-authenticity discipline), and the deity and any sacred content stay referenced-not-reproduced [SRC: T1_CVD_Creative_Vision_Document # 17.1].
Three-layer surfacing
L1 self-contained: a globe-trotting restore-the-record adventure across Templo Mayor, Teotihuacan, and Chichén Itzá — a duel of evidence against an adaptive falsifier (the real record made vivid, the fabricator exposed), a real fight against a manufactured false-serpent counterfeit to free the site-spirits it holds, living-supernatural night beats (La Llorona along the drowned lake-city's canal-lines, the nagual in the mountain dark), a Venus-clock decode, and a legendary-weapon quest at the equinox serpent-descent; a complete action-adventure needing no metaphysics [SRC: T0_Boss_Encounter_Registry @ BE_0047].
L2 investigatable: the historiographic-corrective record — Restall, Townsend, and Lockhart on the Cortés-Quetzalcoatl myth; the Florentine Codex and the Nahuatl accounts; the Dresden Venus and eclipse tables (Aveni); the Maya glyph decipherment (Coe, Coe-Van Stone); Landa's Relación and the 1562 destruction — read via the Inscription discipline at journal and Grimoire depth, the real record restored against the false documentary; the living Nahua and Maya supernatural (La Llorona, the nagual, the aluxob) present-tense folk belief investigatable at ethnographic depth, held distinct from any modern cryptid construction; the healer's-child journal entry feeding the Ch 48 public-release deliberation [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 47 Mexico].
L3 metaphysical-as-real, never declared: Quetzalcoatl as the serpent-thread's synthesis-milestone is real in the world — the vril and perception mechanics operate the earth-sky feathered-serpent principle as the convergence of every serpent anchor since Flores, and the player who surfaced those anchors FEELS the synthesis rather than being told it; the Teotihuacan fault-substrate and the Venus lattice operate the vril geography as real; the vessel's false-serpent counterfeit is the first CULTURAL-sector sign that the family FORCES supernatural assets and fabricates counterfeits — a hand felt in the shared forcing-mark and never named (resolving only at Ch 63), and at the Ch 47/48 seam a disinterested "mediator" register pre-echoes in manner alone; nothing of the thesis is spoken and there is no Grand-Sage hint (HL_0043) [SRC: ESOTERIC_GROUNDING] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0043].

VOCABULARY NOTE (arc-wide spine-registry intensity and mode mirror sweep, 2026-07-27): the declared value is the canonical seven-mode enum the live T0_Chapter_Index carries, because dominant_combat_mode maps one-to-one onto the engine Composure sub-node map — direct, stealth, puzzle_routed, environmental, vril_management, familiar, astral, each depletable only by its own mode verb and each carrying a required GameplayTag — so an eighth value would name a Composure node that does not exist; "investigation-restore" is kept as the chapter's texture gloss and never as an enum value, and this entry's own HL_0049 window argument now rests on values that are actually in the data [SRC: T99_Translation_Combat # 5.5] [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_47]. main_boss_win_condition pacify — the record restored and the fabricator exposed (restore primary, decode secondary, axis 20/50/30, three phases, escalation evolving via adaptive re-editing, never swapping); no killing blow and no violence against people [SRC: BOSS_PERSONAS # Ch 47]; agility_course a pyramid-and-causeway traversal (the Avenue of the Dead and the El Castillo terraces) — biome-rotated against Ch 45's mound-and-plaza and Ch 46's facility-and-astral courses, with a Puzzle variant threading the equinox alignment (HL_0079) [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0079].
abilities_unlocked none newly unlocked; the chapter's signature capability is the Inscription discipline (Trade 9) at the Adeptus Major tier reading the full-phonetic-logographic Maya glyph system — a modern-world application of an ancient-only trade (its homes at Ch 15 Egypt and Ch 29 Sámi), framed as the continued reclamation of the elven birthright, not a new tier threshold [SRC: T0_Inscription_Spine @ MASTERY_CH47_ADEPTUS_MAJOR_MAYA_PAYOFF] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0026].
vril_sites VS_CH47_001 anchored — the Teotihuacan pyramid complex, the natural geological-fault vril-substrate (a Delphi-parallel) contacted at the Feathered Serpent Pyramid at the perception layer; the felt vril-resonance she reads beneath the site as she reads the Dresden Venus tables surfacing Vimana Coordinate 4 of 6 (a perception-layer read, not a new site anchor, the Maya astronomy wholly their own) [SRC: T0_Vril_Site_Registry @ VS_CH47_001].
scripts: the Maya glyph system (STONE_CUT, Adeptus Major), the Nahuatl-language primary-source corpus, the Aztec Calendar Stone numerology, and the Popol Vuh K'iche' tradition read via the Inscription discipline; the Maya-glyph full-decipherment is the payoff, with Landa's 1562 Maní burning surfacing the inscription-destruction substrate; no ceremonial content transcribed, the deity imaged through documented public iconography only [SRC: T1_Languages_and_Script_Master].
inscription_spine: INSC_77H_CH47_FRAGMENT (the Ch-47 hidden-inscription fragment) and MASTERY_CH47_ADEPTUS_MAJOR_MAYA_PAYOFF (the Adeptus Major Maya-glyph full-decipherment payoff, the Landa codex-destruction surfacing) — the L2-becomes-Preparation ammunition of the restoration [SRC: T0_Inscription_Spine @ INSC_77H_CH47_FRAGMENT].
schools: SCH_009, the Mesoamerican initiatory school, DEBUTS here (running CH_47 to CH_48) — the first Layer-3 vril-seat-plus-trade combination-casting synthesis, the Venus death-and-resurrection (Weaving 9 mystery-school-and-dying-rising) its initiatory logic; SCH_001 through SCH_008 carried [SRC: T0_School_Registry @ SCH_009].
weapons chapter_anchored_weapon_add WPN_036 (the Macuahuitl, Brute, short-blades class) — the canonical Mesoamerica Brute-side legendary weapon anchor, won at the El Castillo equinox serpent-descent (one of the four canonical chapter-anchored adds per HL_0056, the Ch 47-48 Mesoamerica Brute now landed at Ch 47 per the RCM Phase-6A resolution) [SRC: T0_Weapon_Registry @ WPN_036] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0056].
trades: no new trade home roots this chapter (the ten trades carry — Trade 9 Inscription remains ancient-only at Ch 15 Egypt and Ch 29 Sámi, applied here as its first full-phonetic-logographic modern-world application); the RCM's "Trade 3 Inscription" label is a SYSTEMIC substrate error (Inscription is Trade 9; Trade 3 is Blacksmithing), corrected here and flagged for the RR-52 bulk cleanup [SRC: T1_Trades_Master # 3.9].
familiars: no new bond this chapter; the Jaguar (a pre-bond presence — it bonds at Ch 48, the Mesoamerican apex-predator counterpoint) and the Koi in Dragon form (the Thread-2 serpent-convergence form) appear at the synthesis; the carried roster holds (Shell W1, the Nile Crocodile W2, the Simurgh F4, the Koi W3, Taki G4, Berkut F5, the Raven F6, the Reindeer G6, Paravani F2 ranging, Kasa W5, the Sanur Octopus W4, the Child Familiar still lost); companions_and_recurring_npcs CHAR_0002 the healer's child and CHAR_0017 Ana [SRC: T3_Familiars_Named].
main_quest_beat the real pre-Columbian record restored with primary sources and the CULTURAL vessel pacified (the record restored), the serpent-thread SYNTHESIS surfaced at the Feathered Serpent Pyramid, Vimana Coordinate 4 of 6 felt beneath the Dresden Venus site, and the macuahuitl legendary weapon won at the El Castillo equinox; side_questlines the Landa-archive source-hunt, the Venus-clock decode, and the equinox weapon quest (path_bucket all, none gating) [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0032].
integrity_divergence typed at FORK_CH47_A (§10b) — the restoration-method choice sets direction (Substantial class per §5.1), action-keyed across four options (restore-with-credit, source-but-claim-credit, fabricate-a-counter-narrative, humiliate-rather-than-correct); mark_write keyed to the nahua_maya community via the restored-record attribution, and the standing with the heritage-scholar collaborator; the protected cultural content and the deity are referenced-not-reproduced identically on all paths (the HL_0007 floor immune to path-variation); the five texture bands are the DERIVED axis (§18, integrity_level L3 Drifting); convergence_node_id null (Ch 65 is the lock-in) [SRC: T1_Integrity_Paths_Worldstates_Master # 5.1].
substrate_sources Restall's Seven Myths of the Spanish Conquest and When Montezuma Met Cortés, Townsend's Fifth Sun and Malintzin's Choices, and Lockhart's We People Here for the historiographic correction; Sahagún's Florentine Codex (Anderson-Dibble) for the Nahua record; Aveni's Skywatchers and Bricker-Bricker for the Dresden Venus and eclipse tables; Coe's Breaking the Maya Code and Coe-Van Stone's Reading the Maya Glyphs for the decipherment; Millon, Pasztory, and Carballo for Teotihuacan; Matos Moctezuma for Templo Mayor; Landa's Relación (Tozzer) and the Maní-burning record for the erasure substrate; and for the living-culture care, the 2020 INEGI census and Indigenous-authored scholarship — consolidated to the acquisition list and the Source registry (region_tags Mexico / Mesoamerica / Nahua / Maya / Teotihuacan, care tier ELEVATED with the §17.1 deity-and-descendant gate) [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 47 Mexico] [POPULATE→T0_Source_Material_Registry].
rewards per-quest reward map authored in-intent — the CULTURAL cover exposed and the record restored (the journal's false-narrative entry, feeding the Ch 48 deliberation), the serpent-thread synthesis surfaced, Vimana Coordinate 4 of 6 read, the macuahuitl legendary weapon won, and the Mesoamerican initiatory school (SCH_009) opened; loot and seed anchors deferred [POPULATE→T0_RNG_Drop_Table] [POPULATE→T0_Quest_Seed_Registry].
encounter_mode/zone the record-restoration duel (investigation / restore) at templo_mayor_zocalo and mani_archive; the Feathered-Serpent perception-trial (perceive / attune) at teotihuacan; the Venus-clock decode (puzzle / decode) and the equinox legendary-weapon quest (solve-and-skill) at chichen_itza — consistent with the §3b typed site rows and the puzzle_routed dominant mode carried in the INVESTIGATION-RESTORE register (the seven-mode enum the live T0_Chapter_Index holds; "investigation-restore" is the texture gloss and never an enum value, per the Mechanical-anchors vocabulary note — arc-wide spine-registry intensity and mode mirror sweep, 2026-07-27) [SRC: T99_Translation_Combat # 5.5] [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 47 Mexico].

companions_present: the healer's child (CHAR_0002), primary companion and journal-keeper (the false-narrative entry, feeding the Ch 48 public-release deliberation); Ana (CHAR_0017), the melee blade; the Nahua/Maya heritage scholar (Diego Rentería Canul, CHAR_0137) carried lightly as a Mesoamerican contact.
familiars_present: the carried roster unchanged (Shell W1, the Nile Crocodile W2, the Simurgh F4, the Koi W3 with its Dragon form surfacing at this serpent-convergence node, Taki G4, Berkut F5, the Raven F6, the Reindeer G6, Paravani F2 ranging, Kasa W5, the Sanur Octopus W4, the Jaguar present, pre-bond (bonds at Ch 48, bond 75), the Child Familiar still lost); no new bond at Ch 47.
homes_established: as at Ch 46 (Trade 7 Culinary Arts rooted at Haiti; Trade 9 Inscription ancient-only at Ch 15 Egypt and Ch 29 Sámi); no new home rooted.
found_family: the arc's accreted found-family carried; the heritage scholar added as an honored Mesoamerican tie; the healer's-child bond deepened through the false-narrative journal entry.
identity_hiding_status: CONCEALMENT_WITH_HOSTILE_RECOGNITION — she still conceals what she is; the reveal is LIFTED (the House of Velheim nameable), the CULTURAL documentary-falsification cover named; pressure MODERATE (Falkenmark treated her as a rival storyteller to out-edit, not as what she is); the chain up still dark above the vessel (the patriarch held for Ch 76), the thesis held for Ch 77.
vimana_hunt_state: OPEN — Coordinate 4 of 6 now in hand (read off the Dresden Venus tables), with Coordinates 1 (Drakensberg, Ch 41), 2 (the Woodhenge, Ch 45), and 3 (Fajada Butte, Ch 46), running toward the Ch 55 Vimana; the rift-chain node 1 (Ch 46) carried dark toward Ch 54/56/58.
path_states: direction set at FORK_CH47_A (generative restore-with-Indigenous-credit, neutral source-but-claim-credit, corrosive fabricate-a-counter-narrative or humiliate-rather-than-correct), integrity_level L3 Drifting with path_bucket UNLOCKED (bands derived, never option labels); the restoration-method mark carried forward via the nahua_maya mark_write; the CULTURAL false-narrative operation exposed and documented (BE_0047 win, §9), the journal's false-narrative entry added toward the Ch 48 public-release deliberation (decision Ch 56, release Ch 57); the Sealed Letter readable but its deepest third sealed toward Ch 66; the serpent-thread synthesis surfaced (Thread 2 milestone, CH47_B02), regional feathered-serpent continuation handing to Ch 48 (LINK_0035) and the Ceiba-as-World-Tree catalog-membership wire forward to the Ch 69 Maatherion convergence (LINK_0053, a discovery-unlock; [POPULATE→ CH_69 Maatherion convergence consumer beat]).
architect_preecho_seam: at the Ch 47/48 seam a disinterested "mediator" register pre-echoes in MANNER and ARGUMENT only (the reasonable, orderly-alternative voice) — no name, no credential, no fairy-realm tongue (that first-contact reveal held to Ch 17); it hands forward to the Ch-48 Architect mediator touchpoint (one of only two mid-arc). The vessel's false-serpent counterfeit is logged as another entry in the modern arc's unattributed forced-asset chain (the recurring forcing-mark resolving to a single hand at Ch 63); the aluxob it press-ganged were freed.
topography_forward_constraint: Ch 48 intensity is pinned NON-peak (standard or valley) -- the Ch 46 and Ch 47 peaks are a two-consecutive pair, so a third consecutive peak at Ch 48 would violate HL_0048; the Ch 48 build must honor this.

Decisions surfaced
Ch 47 surfaced these decisions; the grounded and creative-within-vision ones are resolved inline with reasoning shown (Josh-override-able at RR-52), and no cardinal un-decidable is left open. This is not a hard-line node, so no Stage-2 canonical-question set is required.
The serpent-thread SYNTHESIS handling — RESOLVED (Thread 2 milestone + the deep-research synthesis findings): the Ch 2-46 serpent anchors converge in the pan-Mesoamerican feathered serpent as three related-but-distinct traditions (Teotihuacan's Feathered Serpent with its builders unnamed, the Maya Kukulkan and K'iche' Q'uq'umatz, the Mexica Quetzalcoatl), never flattened into one invented deity; the convergence is felt at Layer 3 (the player who surfaced the anchors feels it), never declared, and no thesis or Grand-Sage hint is surfaced (HL_0043) [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 2].
The Cortés-return-god myth — RESOLVED (real-history corrective discipline): the returning-white-god prophecy is held to be a post-conquest colonial construction (Townsend's Burying the White Gods; López de Gómara 1552; absent from Cortés's own letters; the Florentine Book 12 omens retrospective), with Restall and Lockhart as the corrective backbone; Moctezuma, Malintzin, Cortés, and Sahagún are audit-only at that depth, never fictionalized or villainized, and the invented antagonist is the modern documentary-director [SRC: SCIENCE_GROUNDING].
The Landa codex-burning care — RESOLVED (§17.1 elevated care): the 1562 Maní auto-da-fé is rendered as documented history and indicted plainly (the burning of the codices and images under an unauthorized inquisition), the burned record referenced and never reproduced or reconstructed as usable content; the Knorozov irony (Landa's own "alphabet" becoming the syllabic key) is the chapter's thematic turn — erasure undone by its own residue [SRC: SCIENCE_GROUNDING].
The Teotihuacano-uncertainty and equinox-intentionality contestations — RESOLVED (anti-fringe honesty): the builders' ethno-linguistic identity is held GENUINELY uncertain (a multiethnic city, not a lost race), and the El Castillo equinox serpent-descent is held as real spectacle whose deliberate design is scholarly-contested (Aveni's intentional reading vs Sprajc/Sánchez Nava/Velázquez Morlet); both are left open rather than resolved into a tidy game-fact, and the "one day in six thousand years" Venus-precision claim is corrected to "among the most accurate pre-telescopic records" [SRC: SCIENCE_GROUNDING].
The RCM trade-numbering and weapon-anchor — CORRECTED and RESOLVED (SYSTEMIC living-source): the RCM's "Trade 3 Inscription" is the same systemic error seen at Ch 44-46 (Inscription is Trade 9; Trade 3 is Blacksmithing), corrected here and flagged for the RR-52 bulk cleanup; the macuahuitl (WPN_036, Brute) is the canonical Ch 47-48 Mesoamerica Brute-side anchor per the RCM Phase-6A resolution (HL_0056's pending add now landed at Ch 47 — grounded, not invented), won at the El Castillo equinox [SRC: T1_Trades_Master # 3.9].
The thread-name and Weaving-20 substrate mislabels — CORRECTED and FLAGGED (SYSTEMIC living-source): the canonical thread names (T1_Threads_22_Master_References) are Thread 8 Mystery Schools / Initiation, Thread 9 The Great Work / Alchemy, Thread 17 Sacred Languages / Scripts, and Thread 20 Sacred Objects; "Unity" is WEAVING 20, not a thread. The RCM Ch 47 and BOSS_PERSONAS file the Teotihuacan serpent-convergence trial under "Thread 20 Unity" (corrected here to Weaving 20 Unity / Thread 2), the Templo-Mayor-to-Cathedral institutional-replacement under "Thread 8" (Thread 8 is Mystery Schools), and the Maya-glyph inscription content under "Thread 9" (the glyph/script content fits Thread 17, or the Great-Work inscription-mastery aspect of Thread 9). This entry uses the correct canonical names, rows the glyph content under Thread 9 as the substrate does while noting the Thread-17 fit, and the BOSS_PERSONAS Thread-20 label is corrected in place; all flagged for the RR-52 bulk living-source cleanup [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 20].
The modern-arc re-flesh additions (Task #48 four-moves) — RESOLVED (creative-within-vision): the CULTURAL argument-node is net-reduced by a real combat interleave — a manufactured false-feathered-serpent MIMIC (Construct-Kit Class 5, unattributed forced construct) broken and the press-ganged aluxob freed — so the chapter is not a bloodless duel of citations; the living-supernatural half (La Llorona, the nagual, the aluxob) is added present-tense at witness and playable depth, held strictly distinct from any modern cryptozoological construction; the deity stays honored and NEVER the fought thing (only its counterfeit), sacred-never-corrupted absolute (HL_0007); the false-serpent forcing-hand is held UNATTRIBUTED to Ch 63, and the Architect disinterested-"mediator" register pre-echoes at the Ch 47/48 seam in MANNER and ARGUMENT only (no name, no credential, no fairy-realm tongue — first-contact held to Ch 17); dominant_combat_mode stays puzzle_routed, carried in the INVESTIGATION-RESTORE register (the seven-mode enum the live T0_Chapter_Index holds; "investigation-restore" is the texture gloss and never an enum value, per the Mechanical-anchors vocabulary note — arc-wide spine-registry intensity and mode mirror sweep, 2026-07-27), and intensity stays within the existing peak (a sub-beat, not a new spike) [SRC: T99_Translation_Combat # 5.5] [SRC: BOSS_PERSONAS # THE CONSTRUCT-KIT] [SRC: T0_Antagonist_Network_Registry @ NW_0015].
No cardinal fork is open — the region, era, operational-type, thread set, boss, weapon anchor, and school debut are canonical (RCM, BOSS_PERSONAS, T1_Threads_22, the registries); the heritage scholar is named Diego Rentería Canul, RR-52 Layer-3-finalized per the delegated naming authority (screened clear of any sacred, deity, or clan term) [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_47].
The v3 thread relabel for the script/glyph content — RESOLVED (v3 conversion, 2026-07-15; Josh-override-able at any RR): Ch 47/48 carry a RULED relabel that the modern-world script/glyph decode content is THREAD_17 (Sacred Scripts), not THREAD_09 (reserved for the Great-Work/Alchemy mastery-tier-crossing facet, which this chapter's Adeptus Major crossing does not separably carry beyond the glyph-reading itself); T0_Thread_Grid's own THREAD_17 row for Ch 47 confirms the dual-fit finding and flags an open "Josh-confirm" on whether THREAD_09 stays as a co-reading — this conversion applies the ruling and types CH47_B05 (the glyph-decipherment beat) THREAD_17:ANCHOR only, never THREAD_09. The kept-verbatim Threads-advancing block still carries its historical Thread-9-with-Thread-17-flag prose (RR-52 living-source cleanup territory, untouched by this pass). BE_0047's registry threads column ("T02;T03;T07;T09") is stale against this ruling; queued as a registry correction (see the conversion payload) [SRC: T0_Thread_Grid @ THREAD_17].
The SQ9→SQ1 side-questline relabel — RESOLVED (v3 conversion, grounded correction against the closed 12-slug roster): the v2.5 side-questlines block labeled the La Llorona/nagual/aluxob living-folklore beat "SQ9 Folklore," but SQ9's canonical name is cryptids, not folklore (SQ1 is fairy_tale_folklore); the content is explicitly genuine living folklore held distinct from cryptid/cryptozoological framing, so this conversion retypes it SQ1, not SQ9 [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0032].
The site consolidation (§3b) — RESOLVED (placement judgment, not new canon): the v2.5 Key-sites block named three site bullets (Templo Mayor/Zócalo, Teotihuacan, Chichén Itzá) with the Maní archive layer folded under the Chichén Itzá bullet for narrative convenience; since Maní is a physically distinct Yucatán location hosting its own beat (CH47_B05), this conversion gives it its own site_id (mani_archive) rather than merging it into chichen_itza — four typed sites from three v2.5 bullets, no new geography asserted.
The restoration-method fork's four options — RESOLVED (v3 conversion): the v2.5 integrity_divergence line named four distinct approaches (restore-with-credit, source-but-claim-credit, fabricate-a-counter-narrative, humiliate-rather-than-correct) rather than the standard three-option trichotomy; FORK_CH47_A types all four ACTION-keyed with direction (one generative, one neutral, two corrosive) rather than collapsing or inventing a fourth band, preserving the full v2.5 option set.
The nahua_maya mark_write forward_track — RESOLVED, then SUPERSEDED on evidence (weave pass, 2026-07-27). The v3 conversion typed forward_track empty on the finding that no later chapter was found to read the restoration-method attribution mark specifically, Ch 48's own Continuity anchor carrying the heritage scholar only as "a Mesoamerican contact," not as a reader of this valence. That check tested Ch 48 and docs/proposals/WHOLE_ARC_CONNECTIVE_WEB_INVENTORY.md only and never searched the downstream spine nodes, so the zero came off the wrong surface. Searched across all 79 spine nodes in all three chapter-reference dialects (prose-space, prose-hyphen, and machine), two downstream nodes already declare the read in their own voice and need no edit: CH_62 names "Mesoamerica, the Maya" inside "the world-state reflection on the whole Americas journey," and CH62_B04 enters the modern hunt as one case in which "the case's own prior communities answer as they were left," dissolving each node by "the exact Ch 39-50 win it maps to" — Ch 47 sits inside that range; and CH_65's recombination exam reads "the Ch 39-65 community marks via community_state_per_region." forward_track is therefore [CH_62 CH_65], wiring two ends that both already exist and matching the arity of the CH_48 precedent, which carries forward_track [CH_62, CH_65] for its own qeqchi mark. Neither downstream node is edited by this pass, and the explicit nahua_maya_ch47_mark token is left out of their in: blocks here — that machine-layer strengthening is a separate pass. The genuinely forward-tracked connective links (LINK_0035 to Ch 48, LINK_0053 to Ch 69) stay carried through the beat graph and the Seam block, not through this mark [SRC: CH_62 # Beat graph] [SRC: CH_65 # Beat graph] [SRC: CH_48 # Fork graph].
The BE_0047_S4 de-attribution + the Sector-7 composite dimension (design-layer only — this audit note names the scrubbed token nowhere player-facing) — RESOLVED-APPLIED (batch-5 verify landing): the row's boss_name/sources re-framed family-forged/unattributed per the uniform pre-Ch-55 policy, baseline-declared; the v2.5 boss win-condition's Sector-7 Occult-Knowledge-Preservation composite dimension is carried by the preserved v2.5 blocks and the registry row's own composite framing — folded, not dropped, at the v3 typing (recorded for the verify trail) [SRC: T0_Boss_Encounter_Registry @ BE_0047_S4].
