Chapter 29 — Sápmi: The Severed Drum, the Reindeer's Trust, and the Grief at the Sacred Stone
Story Spine entry, v3.1 beat→fork→state event graph (docs/SPINE_SCHEMA_v3.md), restructured in place from the v2.5 cascade build, spine_status drafted. The v2.5 anchors, prose, source-anchor provenance, and reveal discipline are preserved; v3 re-shapes the site/boss/beat/side-quest/scene/state blocks into the typed machine layer (join-and-type — no new canon authored). Grounded on the enrich.py pack and the BOSS_PERSONAS BE_0029 cast. MAXIMUM/high-care hard-line chapter (CVD §6.2; one of the three §17.1 elevated-care nodes with Ch 42 Haiti and Ch 57 Australia), author-in-loop binding. The Sámi are a living Indigenous people represented with maximum care and as the tradition understands itself: the noaidi are protected community representatives and never combat targets (HL_0003); the joik is referenced as form and never composed, and the drum-membrane iconography and the sieidi sacred-places are referenced and never reproduced (HL_0007; the joik-substrate SFX-cue boundary at HL_0111); the antagonist is the documented Christianization-era drum-confiscation and witch-trial persecution operation, never Christianity or Lutheranism-as-a-faith villainized (the Ch 26 two-sided precedent). Anders Poulsen is a real executed Indigenous person handled audit-only with dignity per the D-15 ruling: named only in the evidence-layer with zero invented interiority, his drum the 2022-repatriation anchor, his death documented history never fictionalized, dramatized as spectacle, or made a boss/familiar/quest-prize. Reveal-timing note: Ch 29 sits after the Ch 28 reveal-edge and holds the line — there is no aware vessel who recognizes her here (the antagonist is institutional-historical, FAMILY_BRIEFED), the persecution is documented history faced via an evidence-trail, and the protagonist feels the recurrence of a familiar kind of crime without ever assembling the House-of-Velheim name, the family pattern, or the awareness-taxonomy, which stay dark to the player until the modern chapters. Drafted is not canonical.
region_primary Sápmi — Sámi territory across northern Norway, Sweden, Finland, and the Kola Peninsula of Russia (the Arctic tundra, the taiga forest, and the fjell mountains, the reindeer-herding lands, the sacred lakes and the sieidi stones), region_id sami_sapmi [SRC: T1_World_Geography_Master # Ch 29].
region_secondary composite-by-region framing per the CVD §17.1 cultural-depiction protocol — the Sámi homeland rendered by region rather than by community-identifying single coordinates [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_29] [SRC: T1_CVD_Creative_Vision_Document # 17.1].
region_chapter_set — this page anchors Ch 29 at Sápmi as a composite-era node (the pre-Christian Sámi religious stratum through the 17th-century Christianization and witch-trial era and the documented 19th-20th-century revival and continuous tradition, reached through time-fluctuation windows); the coverage audit confirms this ground adequate as-authored — NOT a SPREAD/LENGTHEN/RESCOPE target [SRC: EXPANDED_COVERAGE_MAP] [SRC: CULTURAL_COVERAGE_AUDIT].
biome_primary Arctic tundra, taiga (boreal) forest, and fjell mountain; climate subarctic to arctic, the polar-night-and-return-of-light cycle [SRC: T1_World_Geography_Master # Ch 29].
era composite — the pre-Christian Sámi religious tradition (reconstructed via documented ethnographic-historical sources — Schefferus's Lapponia 1673, the 17th-18th-century missionary records, the 19th-20th-century ethnographers) through the 17th-century Christianization-and-witch-trial era (the Anders Poulsen 1692 trial the primary anchor) through the documented modern revival and continuous tradition, reached through the chapter's time-fluctuation windows [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_29].
protagonist_age 16 at start and 16 at end (internal, designer-only, never surfaced; age_stage Adolescence; held across Ch 29 — the D-06 model's placed jumps fall on other composite-era chapters of the climb toward young-adult by the Ch 38 stabilization); protagonist_gender player-selected, carried from Ch 1 [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_29].
identity_hiding_status CONCEALMENT_WITH_HOSTILE_RECOGNITION at start and end; identity_hiding_pressure MODERATE — the pressure relaxes from the Ch 28 HIGH: there is no aware vessel who recognizes her at Ch 29, the antagonist is the institutional-historical persecution operation (NW_0027, FAMILY_BRIEFED, Sector-5), and a positive recognition (the noaidi who perceives her true nature and accepts rather than hunts it) balances the arc's ambient hostile-recognition state, all by briefing and intuition, never a signature read (HL_0028) [SRC: T99_Story_Spine_Build_Logic # 9.6] [SRC: T0_Antagonist_Network_Registry @ NW_0027] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0028].
vimana_precursor_seed FALSE — the numbered six-coordinate hunt runs from Ch 41 and controlled flight arrives at Ch 55; Ch 29 is ground-and-water (arrival overland-and-coastal north from Italy through the German and Scandinavian lands to the top of the world, departure south-and-west toward the British Isles) [SRC: T1_World_Geography_Master # Travel Methods by Arc].
hard_line_binding HL_0009 (Ch 29 is a canonical high-care chapter carrying chapter-specific cultural-depiction discipline; source processing per CVD §6.2 binds before content finalizes — Bäckman and Hultkrantz, Rydving, Turi), with HL_0003/HL_0004 (the noaidi and the living Sámi are inviolate — the persecution intrusion and the environmental accretion are the combat layer), HL_0007 (the joik referenced not composed, the drum-iconography and sieidi referenced not reproduced) and HL_0111 (the joik-substrate SFX-cue-layer boundary), HL_0033 (Trade 9 Inscription's second ancient home), HL_0056 (the chapter-anchored Trickery weapon), and HL_0051 (a hard-line chapter without a combat layer is a pillar violation — the environmental-boss protocol and the added Stállu folklore sibling boss, BE_0029_STALLU, are the playable layer, the Stállu supplying the honest direct strike-mode L1 action) [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0009] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0003] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0007].
Continuity anchor (SSBL §9.3 — Ch 29 start state = Ch 28 end state)
Ch 29 opens from Ch 28's committed end state [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_28]: the protagonist an adolescent, her inscription at Adeptus Minor, carrying from Rome the recruitment-refusal mark and the Augustus-ledger fragments in the healer's child's journal, and above all the new and fixed certainty that an organized power has been watching her — a certainty without a name; the healer's child (CHAR_0002) traveling as the active primary human companion and journal-keeper; and Ana (CHAR_0017), the Manggarai caci-fighter, having rejoined for the Mediterranean-bodyguard reunion across Ch 27-28, now parting ways as the road turns north — the Mediterranean was Ana's world and the Arctic is not her road, and she goes her own way with a warm, spare farewell, her trail crossing the protagonist's again far south and much later (her next canonical node is Ch 41) [SRC: T0_Character_Index @ CHAR_0017]. Shell (W1) the sustained-bond Water familiar always present, the Nile Crocodile (W2) carried, the Simurgh (F4) carried, the Koi (W3) carrying its Koi-to-Dragon evolution, Taki (G4, the wild horse), Berkut (F5, the golden eagle), and the Raven (F6, evolving toward the Huginn-Muninn pair) carried, with Paravani the peacock (F2) ranging the passage, the Sanur Octopus (W4) carried deferred and gated, and the Child Familiar still lost and believed dead; the Trade 1 (Ouidah), Trade 2 (Iranian plateau), Trade 3 and Trade 4 (South India), Trade 5 (Persia), Trade 6 Tailoring (China), Trade 8 Engineering (German lands), Trade 9 Inscription (Egypt, the first ancient home), and Trade 10 (Swahili Coast) home bases carried; the SCH_005 Eleusinian, SCH_006 Druidic, and SCH_007 Hermetic schools carried; the Crown device force-bound; concealment at CONCEALMENT_WITH_HOSTILE_RECOGNITION; the Ch 8 Sealed Letter still an uncracked fairy-script mystery bound toward its Ch 66 close; the found-family accreted across the arc; and the antagonist pattern still entirely unassembled by the player [SRC: T3_Core_Characters # The Healer's Child] [SRC: T0_Character_Index @ CHAR_0002]. What changes here is the register: after a world of powers that hoard and coerce and recruit, she comes to the top of the world and finds a people no power ever managed to buy — and finds, waiting at their sacred stone, not a person to defeat but a grief, the accreted weight of four centuries in which their drums were taken and burned and their holy people put on trial, and the question the chapter asks her is not how to win but how to carry it.
Body prose
She comes to the top of the world in the long slow way, overland and along the cold coasts, out of Italy and up through the German and Scandinavian lands until the trees thin and the nights stretch and the country opens into tundra under a sky that cannot decide whether to be day or night. Once, off the cold coast, the slow dark back of a bowhead whale rises and sounds again — a life older than any nation on that shore, gone under before she can wonder at it. Ana turns back somewhere along the way — the Mediterranean was her sea and her city and her fight, and the Arctic is not her road; they part the way steppe-riders part, without much said and meaning all of it, and the protagonist goes north with the healer's child and the animals into a country that keeps making her smaller and calmer at the same time. After Rome she had braced for the next hostile face, the next briefed watcher, the next invitation. There is none here. There is a people who move with their reindeer across a homeland the size of a season, and for the first time in a long time no one is hunting her.
They do not, at first, let her all the way in — and she has learned enough to know that being let partway in is a gift, not a slight. A noaidi, a holy person of the tradition that has kept the three worlds and the drum since before any king wrote a law, decides what a stranger may witness and what stays closed. The protagonist does not perform and does not press; she listens, in the register the whole chapter runs on, and she earns her way inward the same patient way she earns the reindeer. And late, when she has earned it, the noaidi does the thing that means acceptance in this tradition and no other: not a gift she can keep, not a secret she can take away, but a joik — the people's own way of holding a person in sound — made for her, about her, so that for the length of it she is not a stranger hiding what she is but someone this place has chosen to know. She will never compose one; that is not hers to make. But to be held in one, to be its subject and not its maker, is the warmest recognition the whole long journey has offered her. That other bond is not a conquest either. There is no breaking, no test of will — only a migration cycle, weeks of moving alongside the herd through its own seasonal country until one measured, wary animal stops treating her as a thing to drift from and starts orienting to her the way it orients to the North Star that its own antlers seem built to find. It permits her the antler-borne drum only when she has shown she understands what the drum is for; it answers a listening register and nothing louder. It is the slowest bond in her whole gathering, and the gentlest, and she needs the slowness, because of what the noaidi finally walks her toward.
Not everything on the fjell is grief, and not everything is inviolate. The herding people keep a monster in their own stories — the Stállu, the man-eating giant of the high country, a slow iron-heavy ogre with a hound and an appetite for people — and the stories are not reverent about him; they are the practical literature of how a clever person kills him. In them it is never strength that wins but wit: the herd-girl who runs him out onto rotten lake-ice and lets it take him, the herd-boy who tricks him into knifing his own in the dark, the child who leaves a log under the blanket so the giant staves in nothing but wood and spends his strength on it. And one of them, up where the herd grazes the thin edge of the tundra, is not only a story. It comes down out of the rock at the size the tales promised, and she fights it the plain way — not the spent-out care she must give the stone but everything the long road has made of her body and her reading eye — turning its own bulk and overreach against it, running it onto the ground that will do half the work, until the fjell has one fewer thing that eats the people who cross it. It is the first of the great lumbering kind she will meet and nowhere near the last; there are older and heavier giants waiting far down the years. This one she kills, and the herders tell it afterward the way their stories always told it: the monster met on the mountain and the monster beaten, by someone quick enough to see how.
There is a sacred stone on the fjell, a sieidi, and something is wrong at it. Not a monster and not a person — a grief that has taken a shape. For four centuries the drums of this people were confiscated and burned by a mission that came to save them from themselves; their holy people were tried and, at the far edge of it, executed — one old noaidi at a coastal court, his drum taken from him and kept in a foreign museum for three hundred and thirty-one years before it came home. All of that severing, a living tradition cut again and again from the instrument that carried it, has accreted at the stone into a negative weight that mimics the sacred echo it feeds on. She cannot fight it. That is the first thing the fjell teaches her and the truest: the site does not answer force at all, does not so much as register a signature turned cold or grasping, so that the only way through is the way of care — to perceive the genuine echo apart from the grief aping it, to hold her own state steady, to restrain rather than strike, and only then to lift the accreted weight without tearing the true thing out alongside it. A reindeer-antler knife, plain secular work of the herding life and never anything sacred, is the one edged tool she carries onto that ground, and she barely needs it; the real work has no blade.
The persecution itself she does not fight, because you cannot fight a thing that already happened and you must not aim a weapon at the men who did it inside a story that honors the people they wronged. What she can do is assemble it — read the confiscation records and the trial documents and the missionary's own ledgers until the operation stands exposed on the record for exactly what it was: not a faith, not a people's salvation, but a specific machine for erasing a tradition, run by named men who believed they were doing good and were not. And what leaves her cold at the sacred stone, in a way that is not the Arctic, is a plain and terrible understanding: that to take from a people the thing that carries their memory is the oldest and surest way to own them, and that power has always known it. It is a truth about the world, and it is the more frightening for being nobody's secret — not hidden, simply done, wherever someone strong enough would rather a people forget. She only knows, now, the shape of that cruelty, and that she will know it on sight wherever it is done again.
How she carries the witness is the whole of what her character decides. She can spend herself to lift the grief cleanly and leave the sieidi's echo whole, put the exposed record into the community's own keeping, and hold the executed noaidi in her memory as a man and not a lesson — and it costs her, because care always does. She can do the work but keep an edge, protecting herself first. She can witness, preserve what she can, and move on. Or she can look at the confiscation for what it functionally is — the most efficient way ever devised to break a people, take the thing they cannot replace — and file it away cold, the way a certain kind of person files away every useful cruelty. The fjell will let her be any of these. But the reindeer is watching, and the noaidi is watching, and she has learned by now that some things a wild partner and a holy person can read in you without a single word. When it is done, she turns south and west, off the roof of the world and down toward the old stone circles and the drowned kingdoms of the Atlantic isles, carrying a grief she helped to ease and a coldness she cannot explain.

Thread 1 Vril Parallels — ANCHOR: the Sámi sáiva / frijela sielu (the free-soul, the noaidi three-realm-communication faculty), the vril-parallel surfaced through the noaidi tradition and never declared; the Arctic-waters node also plants the long-lived bowhead already alive in these seas as a Ch 29→Ch 56 individual-memory bridge (LINK_0111, continuity, a design-layer/L2 seed of minor canonicality — the bond itself is a Ch 56 event and is never surfaced player-facing here) [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 1] [SRC: T0_Thread_Grid @ THREAD_01] [SRC: T0_Cross_Cultural_Link_Graph @ LINK_0111].
Thread 2 Serpent — ANCHOR: the drum-membrane serpentine Lower-Realm figure (the noaidi runebomme's Lower-Realm serpent-iconography per the Manker catalog), the micro-object form of the serpent, firing forward to the Ch 30 dragon-lines-and-ley-lines landscape form (LINK_0032, a continuity edge, never a diffusion claim) [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 2] [SRC: T0_Cross_Cultural_Link_Graph @ LINK_0032].
Thread 3 Antagonist Family — ANCHOR (player-facing as a documented historical persecution apparatus; the family/name/pattern still held): the named-institutional-actor register, first of the European arc — the Lutheran-mission and witch-trial actors (von Westen, Tuderus, Rheen, the Schefferus documentary frame, the Anders Poulsen 1692 court) surfaced as a readable evidence-trail, the family's institutional method held entirely to the L3/design layer, the player seeing documented oppressors and never the pattern [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 3] [SRC: T0_Thread_Grid @ THREAD_03].
Thread 4 Flood Memory — ANCHOR: the Sámi pre-cataclysm oral tradition, the Arctic catastrophe-memory candidate read at reference [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 4] [SRC: T0_Thread_Grid @ THREAD_04].
Thread 5 Tree of Life and World Axis — ANCHOR: the drum-membrane three-realm micro-object form — the Upper (Sáivu, Radien), Middle (Earth), and Lower (Jábmiidáibmu) realms encoded in the drum-iconography, the world-axis as a spatial encoding, cross-resonant with the Ch 26 Slavic Raj-drevo and the Ch 24 Norse Yggdrasil three-realm forms (structural parallel, never diffusion) [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 5] [SRC: T0_Thread_Grid @ THREAD_05].
Thread 6 Dying-Rising — ANCHOR: the Arctic-seasonal and reindeer-pastoral cycle — Beaivi the sun and the polar-night-and-return-of-light, the reindeer round of spring-calving and autumn, the northern dying-and-rising form of the thread [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 6] [SRC: T0_Thread_Grid @ THREAD_06].

Thread 16 Dream Traditions and Astral — ANCHOR (the thread's canonical Arctic anchor): the noaidi runebomme and the soul-journey — the trance state, the drum-carried three-realm flight, the very faculty the SCH_008 Sámi shamanic WAYFIND school extends into ley-routed distance travel [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 16] [SRC: T0_Thread_Grid @ THREAD_16].
Thread 17 Sacred Scripts — ANCHOR: the nine-language Sámi family and the drum-iconography as an iconographic-encoding system (the inscription-substrate of a tradition without a developed script), cross-linked to the Ch 32 Tifinagh astronomical-observation content as a cross-tradition astronomical convergence (LINK_0088, parallel-independent, never a diffusion claim) [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 17] [SRC: T0_Cross_Cultural_Link_Graph @ LINK_0088].
Thread 21 Music — ESCALATION: the joik, the Sámi vocal tradition, escalating the Music thread — heard and honored as the tradition's own; under the canonical full-participation rule the protagonist may RECEIVE a joik and be the SUBJECT of one (the noaidi's warmest act of acceptance) though she never composes one (T1_Languages §7.4; the absolute never-compose-joik hard line), resonating backward as a parallel-independent vocal-spiritual echo to the Ch 9 Ethiopian zema of Saint Yared (cross-tradition vocal-encoding, never a diffusion claim) and firing forward as a felt cross-recognition to the Ch 57 Australian songline (LINK_0100, parallel-independent, an intuition-tier echo never a claim) [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 21] [SRC: T1_Languages_and_Script_Master] [SRC: T0_Cross_Cultural_Link_Graph @ LINK_0100].
Thread 22 Sacred Stones — ANCHOR: the sieidi, the Arctic-landscape sacred stones and natural-site altars with their documented offering tradition, held at reverence and referenced not reproduced [SRC: T1_Threads_22_Master_References # Thread 22] [SRC: T0_Thread_Grid @ THREAD_22].
Civilizational marks (the builders-of-knowledge layer, §9.5 mandatory)
Each mark clears a group-A significance lens and anchors to the RCM verified-canon paragraph or a named primary source; the Sámi are authored as builders of Arctic knowledge — astronomy, ecological science, material craft, and a sophisticated encoding tradition — never a people of romantic wilderness [SRC: SIGNIFICANCE_LENSES].
Sámi Arctic astronomy — the documented Sámi astronomical nomenclature (Lodde-raiddo, the Milky Way as the bird-path, and Sibbelak), a sky-science of navigation and season read from the high-latitude night, cross-linked as a parallel-independent astronomical convergence with the Ch 32 Amazigh Tifinagh observation tradition (LINK_0088, CIVMARK:CH_29, Class-1) [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 29] [SRC: T0_Cross_Cultural_Link_Graph @ LINK_0088] [SRC: SIGNIFICANCE_LENSES].
Sámi ecological science and reindeer pastoralism — the documented reindeer-herding livelihood and the siida migration system, one of Europe's oldest continuous human-animal partnerships and a sophisticated managed-mobility ecology of winter and summer pasture, held as the tradition's own applied knowledge [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 29] [SRC: SIGNIFICANCE_LENSES].
The noaidi drum as an encoding system — the runebomme membrane's painted-figure iconography, a spatial three-realm cosmological encoding (the drum read as inscription without a script), the achievement that makes Sápmi the canonical second ancient home of Trade 9 Inscription; co-anchoring Thread 17 [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 29] [SRC: T0_Trade_Registry @ TRADE_09] [SRC: SIGNIFICANCE_LENSES].
Sámi material culture (duodji) — the documented craft tradition of reindeer-antler, bone, wood, and root-and-birch work (the secular belt-knife and the utilitarian-and-decorative object corpus), a full material-science of the Arctic, held as the people's own achievement and the source of the chapter-anchored secular knife [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 29] [SRC: T0_Weapon_Registry @ WPN_071] [SRC: SIGNIFICANCE_LENSES].
Sámi language and oral literature — the nine-language Sámi family and the joik as a sophisticated vocal-encoding art (a way of holding a person, a place, or an animal in sound), a living verbal literature honored as form and never reproduced [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 29] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0111] [SRC: SIGNIFICANCE_LENSES].
The documented ethnographic and revitalization record — the primary scholarly corpus (Schefferus's Lapponia 1673, the Manker drum catalog, Bäckman and Hultkrantz, Rydving, the Hagen witch-trial documentation) and the contemporary Sámi institutions and revitalization (the Sámi parliaments, the 2022 repatriation of the Poulsen drum), the tradition's documented continuity and living present [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 29] [SRC: SIGNIFICANCE_LENSES].
Everything-woven (the twelve facets, each a real presence, none name-checked)
Sápmi is authored as a hub in its documented Arctic web — the Norse and Scandinavian world at its southern edge (the Ch 24 root, and the persecution came out of its churches), the Finno-Ugric and Karelian traditions to the east (a distant-kinship cross-reference, the Kalevala substrate never conflated with Sámi religion), the reindeer-herding circumpolar north, and the Amazigh sky-observers far to the south whose astronomy the Sámi convergence parallels ahead (the Ch 32 turn) — never an isolated locale; the relational edges are woven through the facets and controlled for relevance at the significance-lens pass [SRC: CROSS_CULTURAL_WEAVE].
Combat routes through the environmental Drum-Site Accretion, the fell-wind weather-manifestation, and the documented persecution evidence-trail (exposed on the record, never a weapon aimed at the historical persons) — and, the chapter's one honest strike-mode fight, the Stállu, the man-eating giant-ogre of the Sámi folk-tales themselves, hunted and killed in the fjell as those very tales teach it (the tradition's own monster, condemned by the tradition's own hero-stories, never a real Sámi person) — never the noaidi, the reindeer-herders, or the living community.
Exploration crosses the tundra and the fjell, the taiga forest and the reindeer-migration corridors, the sacred lakes and the sieidi stones, and the coastal court-town of the trial record.
Discovery is the confiscation-and-trial evidence-trail assembled into an exposed case, and the drum-iconography read as a three-realm spatial encoding.
Puzzles are the noaidi-drum inscription-substrate reading (the Trade-9 second-home puzzle), the case-assembly of the evidence-ledger, and the Sámi astronomical orientation.
Mystery is the grief that has taken a shape at the sacred stone, and — carried but never resolved — the cold recognition of a kind of erasure she has met before.
Lore is the three realms and the frijela sielu, Beaivi the sun, the Vuorbi divination, the sieidi offering tradition, and the reindeer-and-star orientation.
Trades root the Trade 9 Inscription second ancient home here (the drum-iconography encoding), joining the Ch 15 Egypt first home — the arc's one two-ancient-home trade.
Gathering is the reindeer-herding material culture (antler, bone, birch, and root), the Arctic medicinal and edible flora, and the reindeer-following seasonal round; sacred material is referenced, never taken.
Side quests run the archaeology-and-inscription, secret-society (pattern-unease, held), astrology-and-psychology, sorcery-and-music, and cryptid lines (block 11).
Engineering is the ecological engineering of the siida migration system, the portable Arctic dwelling and cold-adaptation craft, and the duodji material technology.
Folklore is the drum-iconography's Lower-Realm serpent, the three-world cosmology, Beaivi and the return of the light, and the sieidi's living presence.
Superstition is precisely what the chapter refuses to indulge: the outsider's "primitive shaman" trope is disarmed by rendering the noaidi tradition as the sophisticated consciousness-and-encoding practice it is, the way the community understands itself.
Key sites and spatial layout
Story-load-bearing sites, each having cleared a significance lens and the §4 relevance filter; geography anchors to the World Geography Master, never the RCM; all rendered by composite-region framing, never community-identifying single coordinates (§17.1) [SRC: T1_World_Geography_Master # Ch 29] [SRC: SIGNIFICANCE_LENSES].
Typed v3.1 site rows (§3b) — beats reference these by site_id; the environmental detail rides each row as env texture.
env: open Arctic tundra, the polar-night-and-light cycle, snow-and-ice traverse; the siida seasonal round where the Reindeer (G6) bond is earned by a listening register; the bowhead sounding off the cold coast as an ambient Ch-56 continuity seed (LINK_0111, design-layer, never surfaced player-facing); the arrival ground and the southward departure; hosts CH29_B01/CH29_B02/CH29_B11; L1/L2.
env: the herding-camp and forest-edge interior; the noaidi (a protected ally-gatekeeper) decides what a stranger may witness and teaches the drum-iconography inscription-substrate (Trade 9 second home) and the SCH_008 WAYFIND; a living tradition's ground, at reverence, referenced not reproduced; hosts CH29_B03/CH29_B04/CH29_B05/CH29_B06; L2/L3.
env: the open high country, rockfall scree and a frozen tarn (the folklore's own thin-ice kill-terrain); the fair-game Stállu-ground, DISTINCT from the sacred sieidi ground and kept clear of it; hosts CH29_B07; L1.
env: the northern coastal settlement and its 17th-century archive; the Anders Poulsen 1692 trial and the confiscation record read and assembled into the exposed evidence-trail; the historical actors audit-only, exposed on the record and never fought; hosts CH29_B08; L1/L2.
env: the storm-swept fjell approach, wind and whiteout; the fell-wind sub-boss ground guarding the sacred stone (a weather-manifestation, never a person), and the chapter's Arctic-tundra-survival agility course; hosts CH29_B09; L1.
env: the high fjell, exposure and storm, the aurora and taiga edge; the sieidi a living sacred site held at reverence and referenced not reproduced; the Drum-Site Accretion main boss and its four-step care protocol (a canonical high-vril sacred zone engaged with care, never harnessed); hosts CH29_B10; L1/L3.
Inter-chapter travel — arrival overland-and-coastal north from Italy through the German and Scandinavian lands to Sápmi (the Ch 28 northward departure); departure south-and-west toward the British Isles (Ch 30), ground-and-water, no Vimana [SRC: T1_World_Geography_Master # Travel Methods by Arc].
Boss structure (§9 thin join index — phases are beats; the narrative lives in the beat graph)
Three sub-bosses across different threads feed one environmental main boss resolved by care, not force; the fight blends a perception-and-restraint protocol, a weather-manifestation, and an evidence-assembly, never a single mode (HL_0078). The main boss is the canonical environmental/atmospheric boss governed by HL_0080 (which names the Ch 29 Sámi drum-site as a documented instance and specifies the Perception→Vril-management→Restraint→Purgation protocol), and per the hard-line-with-a-combat-layer rule the environmental-boss protocol is the playable layer (HL_0051). Distinct from and alongside it, the chapter fields one fair-game folklore sibling boss — the Stállu, the Sámi folk-tales' own man-eating giant — as an honest strike-mode direct-combat fight, so this protected hard-line node carries genuine playable L1 action and not the care-protocol alone; the Stállu is also the §190 giant/Titan colossus-class debut, chaining forward to Ch 44 → 70 → 71 → 75 [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0078] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0080] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0051].

Protected-chapter combat framing (ruling 5)
The living Sámi and their tradition — the noaidi and the practitioners, the reindeer-herders and their families, the joikers — are inviolate and never combat targets; the noaidi is a protected ally-gatekeeper and the chapter's positive recognition, never fought (HL_0003; the persecution intrusion and the environmental accretion are the combat layer, HL_0004) [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0003] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0004]. Combat routes through the environmental Drum-Site Accretion, the fell-wind weather-manifestation, and the documented persecution evidence-trail — which is exposed on the record and never fought as persons (the audit-only rule for the real historical missionaries and judges) — and through the Stállu, the man-eating giant-ogre of the Sámi folk-tales, the chapter's one fair-game honest-L1 direct-combat boss, fought and killed in the fjell exactly as the tradition's own hero-tales stage it (the clever herder who outwits and downs the Stállu — lured onto rotten lake-ice, tricked into destroying his own in the dark, defeated by the log-decoy under the blanket); the Stállu is folklore and never a real Sámi person, its fight is distinct from and alongside the intact environmental care-protocol so the protected chapter finally carries genuine playable action, and it is kept clear of the sacred sieidi ground so that the joik, the noaidi, the sieidi, and the drum are never a target (HL_0003/HL_0004). The antagonist is the specific Christianization-era confiscation-and-witch-trial persecution operation, never Christianity or Lutheranism-as-a-faith villainized (the Ch 26 two-sided precedent, HL_0001); the joik is referenced as form and never composed (with the SFX-cue-layer boundary at HL_0111), and the drum-iconography and the sieidi sacred-stones are referenced, not reproduced or desecrated (HL_0007); the shamanic tradition is rendered as it understands itself, never the shamanic-as-mystical-other or temple-as-trap framing (HL_0005), and the Sámi appear as a living people with a documented suppression and a contemporary revitalization, never a people of the past [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0005] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0007] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0111].
Anti-fringe / Frame-A flags
The noaidi tradition and the drum — at-risk claim: shamanism-as-universal-mysticism or the exotic mystical-other, or the "primitive shaman" trope. Canonical framing: the living Sámi noaidi tradition rendered as it understands itself from the primary corpus (Bäckman and Hultkrantz, Rydving, Turi — Eliade explicitly NOT cited here, per the WGM cross-check), a sophisticated consciousness-and-encoding practice, never Orientalist mysticism and never horror-tropified [SRC: ESOTERIC_GROUNDING] [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 29].
The drum-iconography as "inscription" — at-risk claim: a lost-super-script or fringe proto-writing reading of the drum-membrane figures. Canonical framing: the runebomme iconography is a documented spatial cosmological encoding, not a developed script (the canonical oral-not-script limit), and Trade 9's second home is authored as inscription's paradox-completion — meaning encoded into a durable carrier without a written glyph, never a lost-technology claim [SRC: ESOTERIC_GROUNDING] [SRC: T0_Inscription_Spine @ LIMIT_CH29_SAMI_ORAL_NOT_SCRIPT].
The Sámi astronomical tradition — at-risk claim: an ancient-advanced-astronomy or lost-science reading. Canonical framing: the documented Sámi sky-nomenclature (Lodde-raiddo, Sibbelak) is a real high-latitude observational tradition credited to the Sámi's own agency, parallel-independent with the Ch 32 Amazigh observation and never a diffusion or lost-science claim [SRC: SCIENCE_GROUNDING] [SRC: T0_Cross_Cultural_Link_Graph @ LINK_0088].
The witch-trial and confiscation history — at-risk claim: rendering the persecution as either Christianity-as-a-class evil or as a sanitized misunderstanding. Canonical framing: the confiscation-and-witch-trial record is authored honestly as the documented persecution operation it was (von Westen's mission, the drum-burnings, the Poulsen execution), the crime a specific apparatus and never the faith itself, and never sanitized away (the Ch 26 two-sided precedent, Principle 3 historical honesty) [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 29] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0001].
Three-layer surfacing
L1 self-contained: an Arctic set-piece — earn a wary reindeer's trust across a migration, read and still a grieving sacred site under the aurora, expose a four-century confiscation apparatus on the record, and fight and fell the Stállu (the folk-tales' man-eating giant) in an honest strike-mode hunt on the fjell — a complete witness-restoration-and-monster-slaying story needing no metaphysics [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0047].
L2 investigatable: the noaidi drum tradition, the frijela sielu, the sieidi, the Vuorbi divination, the Sámi astronomy, and the documented confiscation-and-witch-trial record (Schefferus's Lapponia, the Manker drum catalog, Bäckman and Hultkrantz, Rydving, the Hagen witch-trial documentation, the Poulsen trial), all referenced never reproduced — the investigatable Sámi substrate [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 29].
L3 metaphysical-as-real, never declared: the frijela sielu is the same free-soul/vril substrate under a Sámi name, the noaidi drum a real consciousness-instrument, and its severing a real wound the four-step protocol mechanically heals; the SCH_008 WAYFIND extends the Ch 15 Astral Projection into ley-routed distance travel, the reclamation of a dormant birthright — all surfaced only through what the mechanics do, with zero thesis spoken, no Grand-Sage hint, and the erasure-method she recognizes carried as a felt kind-of-crime and never assembled into the pattern [SRC: ESOTERIC_GROUNDING] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0043].

sfx_substrate — snow-and-ice and tundra-and-fjell terrain enum, the wind and the herd and the aurora-silence environmental ambient, the vril-cast tier for the SCH_008 WAYFIND and the four-step protocol, and the inscription-activation at the drum-iconography read (referenced, the register PHILOSOPHUS) [SRC: T99_Story_Spine_Build_Logic # 9.6] [POPULATE→T0_SFX_Registry].
fragment carrier and sacred objects — the INSC_77H_CH29_FRAGMENT physical carrier is a Layer-2 fragment of the 77-Hidden-Inscription spine that assembles across the arc and pays off at Ch 76; sacred_objects_and_props include the noaidi drum (the tradition's own, referenced not reproduced, the repatriated Poulsen drum its anchor of return) and the sieidi stones (referenced not reproduced), and the secular reindeer-antler knife (WPN_071, secular material culture only, never fashioned from a sacred object) [SRC: T0_Inscription_Spine @ INSC_77H_CH29_FRAGMENT] [SRC: T0_Weapon_Registry @ WPN_071].

dominant_combat_mode environmental (the four-step Drum-Site Accretion protocol and the fell-wind manifestation — the boss's perceive-and-restraint verbs, a puzzle-and-preparation-forward environmental boss; the chapter ALSO fields an honest direct strike-mode option in the Stállu folklore sibling boss, BE_0029_STALLU — genuine playable L1 action alongside the environmental dominant, which is unchanged, the Stállu a parallel fair-game bestiary fight and not the dominant mode, so HL_0049's mode-variety accounting holds) — mode-variety note: Ch 27 direct, Ch 28 stealth, Ch 29 environmental, so no two consecutive share a mode and the five-window Ch 25-29 carries at least four distinct dominant modes (economic/puzzle-routed, vril_management, direct, stealth, environmental), clearing HL_0049; intensity standard — CH_29 is a high-care witness/protected node whose internal high point is the sieidi protocol, a topography standard between the Ch 28 reveal-edge and the Ch 30 megalith puzzle, holding HL_0048's no-three-consecutive-peaks rule; the five Pillar-1.12 beats are all present — combat (the environmental protocol, the fell-wind, the evidence-trail, and the honest strike-mode Stállu fight), puzzle (the drum-iconography substrate, the case-assembly, the astronomy), learning (Trade 9 second home, SCH_008 WAYFIND, the noaidi cosmology), character (the reindeer bond, the noaidi ally, the Poulsen witness, the Ana parting), and transformation (the WAYFIND birthright-reclamation, the high-care witness, the sieidi restoration) — mode_variety_check flipped at scatter to combat=Y;puzzle=Y;learning=Y;character=Y;transformation=Y [SRC: T0_Chapter_Index @ CH_29] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0049] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0048].
main_boss_win_condition perceive/restraint-to-purgation (pacify — the accreted grief eased and the sieidi echo preserved; perceive primary, restraint secondary; the site refuses a negative signature, so force cannot win; the canonical environmental/atmospheric 4-step protocol per HL_0080) [SRC: BOSS_PERSONAS # BE_0029] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0080]; the Stállu folklore sibling boss (BE_0029_STALLU) carries a DISTINCT played strike-mode win condition — a clean kill of the man-eating giant, primary strike and secondary outwit (the folk-tale's wit-before-force method, the giant run onto the rotten ice or turned against its own bulk), the chapter's honest direct-combat option that stands alongside the care-protocol and never replaces it [SRC: T0_Boss_Encounter_Registry @ BE_0029_STALLU]; agility_course an Arctic-tundra-survival traverse (snow-and-ice and fjell-approach) — biome-rotated against Ch 28's Roman aqueduct-and-rooftop and Ch 30's megalith-and-coastal course, with a Puzzle variant threading the fell-wind read, one course per chapter across three variants (HL_0079) [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0079].
abilities_unlocked none rowed canonical for Ch 29 in the Ability Tree; the chapter's capability gains are the Reindeer (G6) familiar bond and the SCH_008 WAYFIND debut; mastery_tier note — the protagonist's INSCRIPTION capability holds the Adeptus-Minor onset from Ch 15 (per-capability per HL_0026; the drum-iconography is read at its PHILOSOPHUS register as a spatial encoding, not a script decode, and the joik is received and honored — under the canonical full-participation rule the protagonist may be the SUBJECT of a joik though she never composes one (T1_Languages §7.4, the oral-not-script limit)), monotonic across the window; the WAYFIND is the astral capability climbing its own ladder, the reclamation-of-birthright register here (the Ch 15 Astral Projection extended) [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0026] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0017] [SRC: T1_Languages_and_Script_Master].
vril_sites none rowed canonical for Ch 29; the sieidi sacred-stones and sacred lakes are a canonical high-vril-density sacred zone (per the WGM zone taxonomy) held at reverence and referenced not reproduced (HL_0007) — engaged with care through the environmental protocol, never rowed or harnessed as an object; the drum and the frijela sielu are the substrate surface [SRC: T1_World_Geography_Master # Ch 29] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0016].

weapons roster-availability carried; chapter_anchored_weapon_add WPN_071 the Reindeer-Antler Knife (TRICKERY, Blades) — one of the four canonical chapter-anchored weapons (HL_0056), the Sámi duodji secular belt-knife of reindeer-antler material culture only, never fashioned from a sacred object (drum/sieidi), the canonical prep acquisition for the environmental-protocol boss [SRC: T0_Weapon_Registry @ WPN_071] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0056].
trades: Trade 9 Inscription roots its SECOND ancient home base here (joining the Ch 15 Egypt first home — the arc's one two-ancient-home trade, ancient-only), taught through the drum-iconography spatial-encoding substrate and authored as inscription's paradox-completion (inscription without a developed script); the earlier trade homes and the SCH_006/SCH_007 schools carry [SRC: T0_Trade_Registry @ TRADE_09] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0033].
familiars: ONE new bond — Reindeer (G6, Ground, the Sámi-tradition familiar, bonded across the siida migration cycle by a listening register and never a conquest, Polaris-antler orientation and winter-traversal endurance); Shell (W1) sustained, the Nile Crocodile (W2), the Simurgh (F4), the Koi (W3, its evolution continuing), Taki (G4), Berkut (F5), and the Raven (F6, evolving toward the Huginn-Muninn pair) carried; Paravani the peacock (F2) ranging the passage; the Sanur Octopus (W4) deferred and gated; the Child Familiar still lost [SRC: T3_Familiars_Named # Reindeer]; companions_and_recurring_npcs CHAR_0002 the healer's child (CHAR_0017 Ana departed after Rome, her next node Ch 41) [SRC: T0_Character_Index @ CHAR_0002] [SRC: T0_Character_Index @ CHAR_0017].

integrity_divergence typed at FORK_CH29_A (§10b) — the §5.5-class witness-and-exposure choice at the sieidi (Substantial class per §5.1), action-keyed with direction, with the four-step Drum-Site protocol a reward-both-ways boss outcome (BE_0029, Hades both ways); direction_set_at_chapter_end {generative spend herself and put the exposed record into the community's keeping and hold the executed noaidi as a man not a lesson, neutral witness and preserve what she can and pass, corrosive read the confiscation-lever for what it functionally is and file it away cold}; the good_enough band is the DERIVED band on the generative arm (§18); the Ch 28 certainty-of-an-organized-power carried as fixed background unease and NOT advanced here (does not close Truly Good); the five texture bands are the DERIVED axis (§18, integrity_level near the L3 Drifting band); convergence_node_id null (Ch 65 is the lock-in) [SRC: T1_Integrity_Paths_Worldstates_Master # 5.1] [SRC: T1_Integrity_Paths_Worldstates_Master # 5.5].

rewards per-quest reward map authored in-intent — the Reindeer (G6) familiar bond, the SCH_008 WAYFIND debut, the Trade 9 Inscription second-home depth (the paradox-completion), the Arctic-astronomy and noaidi lore, the exposed persecution record returned to the community, and the certainty-of-an-organized-power carried forward as a cold recognition; loot and seed anchors deferred [POPULATE→T0_RNG_Drop_Table] [POPULATE→T0_Quest_Seed_Registry].
encounter_mode/zone the four-step protocol at the sieidi on the fjell; the fell-wind at the high sieidi approach; the reindeer bond on the migration tundra; the noaidi teaching at the herding-camp interior; the evidence-trail at the coastal court-town archive; the Stállu at the high fjell and tundra-edge, kept clear of the sacred ground — consistent with the typed §3b site rows and the environmental dominant mode [SRC: T1_World_Geography_Master # Ch 29].
integrity_level near the L3 Drifting band (direction plus magnitude; FORK_CH29_A sets the witness-direction at Substantial class, the good_enough band the derived band on the generative arm; the Ch 28 certainty-of-an-organized-power held as fixed background unease and NOT advanced here) ← WS_002 · world_state_current WS3 Neutral ← WS_003 · path_bucket UNLOCKED (committed only at Ch 65) ← WS_004

companions_present: the healer's child (CHAR_0002), primary companion and journal-keeper (the journal now also the counter-archive of the confiscation-and-trial record); Ana (CHAR_0017) departed after Rome, her next canonical node Ch 41.
familiars_present: Shell (W1) sustained, the Nile Crocodile (W2), the Simurgh (F4), the Koi (W3, its Koi-to-Dragon evolution continuing), Taki (G4, the wild horse), Berkut (F5, the golden eagle), the Raven (F6, evolving toward the Huginn-Muninn pair), and the NEWLY bonded Reindeer (G6, Ground, the Sámi-tradition familiar); Paravani the peacock (F2) ranging the passage; the Sanur Octopus (W4) deferred and gated; the Child Familiar still lost and believed dead; the rotational roster carried.
homes_established: Trade 1 (Ouidah), Trade 2 (Iranian plateau), Trade 3 and Trade 4 (South India), Trade 5 (Persia), Trade 6 Tailoring (China), Trade 8 Engineering (German lands), Trade 9 Inscription (Egypt first home AND Sápmi second home — the arc's one two-ancient-home trade, now complete), Trade 10 (Swahili Coast) — Trade 9's second ancient home rooted at Ch 29.
found_family: the arc's accreted found-family carried; the noaidi and the reindeer-herding community held as honored, living figures rooted to their homeland; Anders Poulsen held in memory as a documented victim witnessed with dignity.
identity_hiding_status: CONCEALMENT_WITH_HOSTILE_RECOGNITION, pressure MODERATE — relaxed from the Ch 28 HIGH; no aware vessel recognized her here, the noaidi's positive recognition balanced the ambient hostile-recognition state, and the antagonist was the institutional-historical persecution operation, not a personal recognizer.
path_states: direction set at FORK_CH29_A (generative spend-herself-and-return-the-record, neutral witness-and-pass, corrosive file-it-cold), integrity_level near the L3 Drifting band with path_bucket UNLOCKED (bands derived, never option labels); the §5.5 witness-and-exposure community mark carried forward, the Ch 28 certainty of an organized power held as a fixed background unease and NOT advanced here, the erasure-method recognized as a kind of crime and never assembled, the Sealed Letter still bound toward its Ch 66 close, and the antagonist pattern still unnamed and unassembled by the player.

Ch 29 surfaced these decisions; the grounded and creative-within-vision ones are resolved inline with reasoning shown (Josh-override-able at RR-32), and the pre-drafted Stage-2 canonical-question set (docs/spine/stage2/CH_29_STAGE2.md) carries the full hard-line batch for Josh's high-care sign-off. No cardinal un-decidable is left open beyond the flagged real-person handling, which Josh has already ruled on.
The joik and drum as protected property — RESOLVED (§17.1, HL_0007/HL_0111; Stage-2 Q1): the joik is a real load-bearing thread (Thread 21) heard and honored but referenced as form and never composed, and the drum-iconography and sieidi are referenced never reproduced; the Anders Poulsen drum's 2022 repatriation is the anchor of living continuity [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0007] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0111].
The antagonist as the persecution OPERATION, never Christianity-as-a-class — RESOLVED (§17.1 Principle 1, the Ch 26 two-sided precedent; Stage-2 Q2): the antagonist is the documented confiscation-and-witch-trial apparatus surfaced as an evidence-trail (the named actors exposed on the record, audit-only, never fought), and the faith itself is never the villain [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0001] [SRC: T0_Antagonist_Network_Registry @ NW_0027].
Anders Poulsen as a documented victim — RULED-BY-JOSH 2026-07-10 (keep the applied handling): the real executed noaidi is present at the chapter's emotional center handled with dignity — named only in the evidence-layer (audit-only, the Li Si precedent, zero invented interiority), his drum the 2022-repatriation anchor, his death faced as documented history and never fictionalized, dramatized as spectacle, or made a boss/familiar/quest-prize; the game's role is to witness and expose the operation that killed him and preserve the sieidi his tradition was severed from. Josh confirmed a real, named, executed Indigenous person may sit at the emotional center as a witnessed victim on this maximum-care node (the Ch 29 Stage-2 set, docs/spine/stage2/CH_29_STAGE2.md, Q3) — the v3 conversion holds the handling exactly (named only at CH29_B08 evidence and CH29_B04's repatriated-drum echo, no beat makes him a fought/bonded/prize entity) [SRC: T1_Research_Corpus_Master # Ch 29] [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0009].
The environmental-boss protocol and the protected Sámi — RESOLVED (§17.1, HL_0003, the Ch 42 high-care model; Stage-2 Q4): the main boss is the environmental Drum-Site Accretion resolved by the four-step care protocol (the site refuses a negative signature), the noaidi a protected ally-gatekeeper never fought, and combat routes through the accretion, the fell-wind, the evidence-trail, and the fair-game Stállu folk-monster [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0003] [SRC: BOSS_PERSONAS # BE_0029].
The honest-L1 playable-action fix, the Stállu — RESOLVED (creative-within-vision; the §176/§247 over-fence and defanged-pure-witness fix, docs/proposals/RECASCADE_PUNCHLIST.md environment-overfence; the rated-R monsters-are-bosses doctrine): this protected node previously routed ALL combat through the environmental care-protocol and the audit-trail, leaving no honest playable L1 action; the fix adds the Stállu — the Sámi folk-tales' OWN man-eating giant — as a fair-game strike-mode direct-combat sibling boss (BE_0029_STALLU) in the fjell, framed within the tradition's own hero-tales that outwit and kill him, and DISTINCT from the intact Drum-Site Accretion care-protocol; the joik stays off and the noaidi, herders, sieidi, and drum stay inviolate, the Stállu being folklore and never a real Sámi person; it also debuts the §190 giant/Titan colossus class (chaining to Ch 44/70/71/75) [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0051] [SRC: T0_Boss_Encounter_Registry @ BE_0029_STALLU].
The Trade 9 second-home paradox — RESOLVED (HL_0033; Stage-2 Q5): inscription's second ancient home is authored as its paradox-completion — a tradition that inscribes without a developed script (the drum-iconography spatial encoding), inscription taught as the encoding of meaning into a durable carrier and never the written glyph alone [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0033] [SRC: T0_Inscription_Spine @ TRADE9_HOME_CH29_SAMI_PARADOX_COMPLETION].
The reveal-edge held after Ch 28 — RESOLVED (§17.9, the antagonist-pattern-reveal-timing rule, the Ch 25 pattern-assembly BLOCKER lesson; Stage-2 Q6): Ch 29 does not advance the personal-recognition reveal (no aware vessel recognizes her here); the protagonist feels the recurrence of a familiar kind of erasure but the entry never assembles it into one operation, never ties it to the Augustus-ledger or the watcher, and never names or hints the family; the Ch 28 certainty is carried as a fixed background unease, not escalated; the CH29_B08 reveal line and §18 hold the D-14 ceiling (the five components dark to Ch 38) with no agent-noun who-frame [SRC: T0_Hard_Lines @ HL_0043] [SRC: T0_Antagonist_Network_Registry @ NW_0027].
The v3 typing of the witness-and-exposure fork — RESOLVED (v3 conversion, 2026-07-15; Josh-override-able at any RR): the v2.5 named truly_good / good_enough / neutral / evil as path labels (the retired vocabulary); v3.1 keys FORK_CH29_A by ACTION with a direction (generative spend-herself-and-return-the-record-and-hold-the-noaidi-as-a-man, neutral witness-and-pass, corrosive file-it-cold), the truly_good/good_enough split being the DERIVED band on the generative arm (the CH_28 precedent); the four-step Drum-Site protocol is typed as a reward-both-ways boss outcome (BE_0029, Hades both ways), not a player fork, so the single durable direction-set is the witness-disposition trichotomy, which preserves the v2.5 Substantial integrity delta in one authored place [SRC: T1_Integrity_Paths_Worldstates_Master # 5.5].
The Ch-29 boss registry FK join — RESOLVED-CONFIRMED (no drift): the v3 FK join of BE_0029 and its four sub-bosses against BOSS_PERSONAS and the T0_Boss_Encounter registry confirmed the verbs and axis splits EXACTLY (BE_0029 perceive/restraint 20/45/35; BE_0029_S1 perceive/attune 25/40/35; BE_0029_S2 decode/expose 20/55/25; BE_0029_S3 perceive-only 35/45/20; BE_0029_STALLU strike/outwit 45/30/25) — no registry cell required correction (the BE_0029_STALLU row is already populated, so the v2.5 entry's stale [POPULATE→BE_0029_STALLU] markers are dropped at conversion and the row referenced as existing); nothing queued for the orchestrator's serialized landing [SRC: BOSS_PERSONAS # BE_0029] [SRC: T0_Boss_Encounter_Registry @ BE_0029_STALLU].
The connective-web links (typed what the v2.5 carries; NOT what it does not) — RESOLVED-APPLIED (join-and-type): LINK_0111 (the bowhead Sámi-era continuity to Ch 56) is carried as an ambient env note at CH29_B01 and the preserved Thread 1 block (design-layer/L2, never surfaced player-facing here — the bond is a Ch 56 event, so no player-facing fork/mark, no forward_track); LINK_0032 (the serpent micro-object → landscape form at Ch 30) fires from the drum-serpent at CH29_B04 (Thread 2); LINK_0088 (Sámi-Amazigh astronomical convergence → Ch 32) and LINK_0100 (joik-echo cross-recognition → Ch 57) are parallel-independent forward resonances carried in the civ-marks/Thread/CH29_B06 blocks. KM-10 (the WPN_071 TRICKERY verb answering a late Ch 73-76 fairy-realm boss feint) is a NEW/CREATIVE_WITHIN_VISION proposal the v2.5 entry does NOT carry, so it is flagged here and NOT typed — authoring the forward dividend would invent canon [SRC: WHOLE_ARC_CONNECTIVE_WEB_INVENTORY # KM-10-weapon-verb-answers-late-boss] [SRC: T0_Cross_Cultural_Link_Graph @ LINK_0111].
The integrity-band vocabulary re-key (batch-4 verify) — RESOLVED-APPLIED: five retired "L3 Neutral band" labels re-keyed to L3 Drifting (§10b note, §18, path_states, both seams); Neutral is only the WS3 world-state name per SPINE_SCHEMA_v3 §1 — the conversion had silently carried the v2.5 label [SRC: SPINE_SCHEMA_v3 # 1].
