The darat are the tradition's OWN amoral spirits of place — friendly by default, offended only when their places are disturbed — so they are never Hollywood-monstered and never dismissed as mere superstition, and the plate stages STILLNESS AND OWNERSHIP rather than menace. Equally they are not defanged: combat_permission on the row is FOLKLORE_FACED and the tradition's own answer to an offence is a rite, so the plate's calm reads as something owed rather than something safe. Their attested beauty is carried with adult weight and never as titillation, which is the region page's own wording for this being class. This is one of exactly two subjects in the chapter the style register permits to be mythologically stylized.",

The row exists because the chapter needs the SAME ANIMAL to read two ways without the second read becoming a different creature — that is what 'mythologically-stylized when roused' means and it is why the stylization is spent on scale, stillness and light rather than on anatomy. The tradition's own frame binds: these guardians are GOOD, named for what they keep, one to a village, and this one is dangerous because a contract was broken. The spine explicitly retired the de-fanged protective-python framing, so the roused read carries real threat; HL_0005 keeps it from becoming a Hollywood monster. Both duties are on the plate at once, which is the point of putting both reads on one sheet.",
